If I could give 0 or negative stars, I would. I called Tony to schedule a consult so I could get my entire backyard redone, probably a $10,000 job or more, I'm not sure. On the initial phone call, he was a little rude, and not very helpful, but I gave him a chance anyways and scheduled. Tony was 20 minutes late, which is not really a big deal, but then I saw him through my window measuring my front grass. Weird because I only needed the backyard done. Then I saw him go back to his truck, I thought maybe he forgot something. But then he drove away without ever even knocking on the door or ringing the bell. I checked my phone and he left me a voicemail saying that we had an appointment and he's here but I'm not here, so he had to go. Wrong buddy! So unprofessional. He completely wasted my time. Why even come at all if you're not going to commit to the project? Lack of communication, lazy, and a liar. Not sure you could get any worse as a service-based business owner. Came to my place an hour and half late from the appointment time he suggested, and he declined to do the project.... its too small for him (Frontyard sod to be replaced about 600 sq. ft in total, sprinkler and drip lines installation. Being an architect, I was very specific on the design and layout and Tony did a fantastic job with making sure our design intent was followed through while staying on budget and on-time, which is something MOST contractors have no understanding of this mythical concept. Both my next door neighbor and a co-worker had work done by Tony which we had seen so we were hopeful he would be the one to do our landscaping work. Tony came by and did measurements and said he would give us an estimate soon. Two weeks went by and I called him and he sounded like I had refreshed his memory with my name and address and he said I'll send you a quote tomorrow. Two more weeks went by and I called him again (I also send a reminder email from his website during this time), he said I'll look at my notes tonight and get you a quote. We have never heard from him again. Between 2 actual phone contacts and 2 separate emails you would've thought we'd have gotten at least something from Tony in a month and a half. Instead we've received nothing, no phone call nor email response. I know he does good work, too bad we'll never know for ourselves. Tony and his excellent crew deserve five stars. I had a medium size job that included clearing and hauling out a lot of rocks, boulders, and miscellaneous pipe. The crew leveled out the areas and spread a large area of crushed lava rock as well as a large planter of top soil for flower beds and dwarf citrus trees. They installed new drip irrigation systems in the planter beds and planted the flowers and trees. They also poured concrete on the side of the driveway and installed decorative rock near the garage...all in only two days! Honestly, I've never seen such hard workers. Called this company for a quote (twice). These people googles your address and looks into your backyard. If the yard is to big he wont do the job. He will come up with alot of excuses not to show up. I am assuming he charges double the price for small backyard do it yourself project. read more
