Texas fries with sauce and beef dogs all the way, gotta have a cup of coffee too.

Food was delicious, the owner was there, and was funny with his jokes, I'm from Buffalo n.y, and I would stop there any time on the area for a dog or two, French fries where great, the service from the female waitresses was amazing, the prices where very fair as well, very nice place to stop and support your American owned business.

Tony's is the place to go for a great bite to eat for a great price. I got the buffalo ranch chicken fries and a bacon omelette with home fries, and both were flavorful and filling. Their coffee is delicious, and the ambiance is welcoming. Great service. I would definitely stop in again!

We wanted something quick for lunch and did a search on the app to see what was near by. Tony's popped up and it was a hit. The small place puts a whole lot of love in their food. It's located on the busy corner of Broadway and Prospect along with a few other businesses. The old school diner is small and is open until early evenings. The place was full of people when I got a to-go at 1 o'clock from there on a Saturday. It was ready within 10 minutes of ordering and I was thanked for coming by. The picture doesn't do justice on the presentation, but it's good. It may get a little messy at times and it's worth every bite. The cheese dogs, onion rings, buffalo chicken tenders, fries, and grilled cheese sandwiches were enjoyed by all of us. Thanks for the quick lunch to eat :)

was in the area and heard great things about this place and wanted a quick lunch. first great service, greeted as soon as i enter and took my order right away and was so cool about me ordering after order i made. I tried the hog dogs with cheese and bacon, man was it good, cheese was great, bacon was cooked just right, no burnt pieces or underdone ones, the hot dog was grilled just right. I see why this place is known for it. I ordered a second dog same style to go and an onion ring. as for the Onion rings, normally bigger rings are not crispy, but here man were they good, nice and crispy and just right size of onion slices. Great prices and felt like a local with just one visit.

We stopped here for a quick dog, as Tony's is an iconic establishment with some amazing reviews. Per one of the employees, they've been in business since the 30's and at the current location, on Broadway, since the 60's. They're open at 6:30 AM six days / week, and close late afternoon. Totally closed on Sundays. Kind of a smallish place, with less than 10 tables and about 10 stools at a counter. Prices are reasonable, especially for breakfast. Not quite sure what the bulk pricing is all about for hot dogs and hamburgers. One HD is $2.50; ten for $25.00; twenty for $50.00. If this is some sort of math quiz or logic test, I guess the message is "no discount for large quantities!" Both of us thought the HD was ok, but nothing special. They are skinless and grilled. No "snap" to them at all. The "everything Texas hot weiner", which is what I had, includes mustard, Texas sauce, and chopped onions. Again, it was good, not great. Overall, I was underwhelmed.

I love spots like this, small, humbled surrounding, friendly, neighborly and very traditional. I tried coming here before but it was packed. Today I felt like a fresh burger and that's exactly what I got. (I ordered two) Their menu is very small, mainly breakfast and lunch, it seems like everyone comes in for the burgers and hotdogs topped with their special sauce ( which they sell). Can't wait to bring my husband, thankfully it's not to far from my house so we can get up one morning and have a bacon/egg/cheese or my favorite a B.L.T

A newburgh staple. Comfortable, quaint, smokey, onioney, old school, relaxing little diner on Broadway. Don't expect to walk in here and get some Michelin star quality meal in here. What you're going to get a solid hot dog/burger with a very good 'special' sauce and the fixings. You're going to have very good service at the counter and get taken care of when you're seated down at the tables. Order the texas hot with the sauce and bacon and you'll be set.

*Hot Dog review only* Made a point to stop by since I was passing through, to try the Hot Dogs. I walked in and saw the griddle full of dogs but...I noticed they looked the same as the cheap crappy non-beef hot dogs Coney Island in Middletown serves when you don't ask for all beef. Against my better judgement and my curiosity, I ordered 2 dogs with everything (mustard, chopped onions and the chili sauce. Well, the hot dogs tasted bad and the sauce was more like an red oniony sauce rather than the typical meat sauce. I couldn't even eat the 2nd one and threw it out. Too bad. They seem like nice folks. Those hot dogs should be outlawed!

Tom Tom Patty Melt Sandwich

This restaurant is a true slice of Americana. Go to this town, talk to the staff, stand outside while you wait for your food and maybe you'll get lucky like me and some random guy will give you the history of Newburgh and Tony's. Their sauce is an incredibly flavorful and pungent onion meat mixture that goes great on everything. The Tom Tom Patty Melt might be the best sandwich I've had this year.

The bistro has a cute exterior offering a few outdoor seats and a minimal but stylish interior and is perfect if you want to stay and chill or get your food to go. This isn't Subway so the sandwiches are priced above $10, but considering the quality and quantity (and maybe because I'm just acclimated to paying ridiculous prices in the City) you definitely get your money's worth. I heartily enjoyed the sliced hanger steak sandwich and found the mix of horseradish mayo, sautéed mushrooms, and arugula on a toasted ciabatta to be perfection. I also tried the fried chicken sandwich which was well seasoned and made all that much better with the sriracha mayo and pickles! I will be back for certain to explore the rest of the sandwich and salad options, especially the capers and oyster mushroom sandwiches and roasted beet and goat cheese salads. They also offer baked goods from Newburgh Flower Shop down the block as well as a variety of coffee and tea drinks. If you get pickup, call the restaurant directly because the prices through Doordash are higher to compensate for the fees the restaurant has to pay. Good to have Toasted on the Liberty Street scene!

The bread was sturdy and crusty and crunchy on the outside. The oyster mushrooms were accompanied with a lovely spicy aioli and pickles. Even though it may a cost a little more than a sandwich from a national chain, the food is made with lots of care with fresh ingredients and the portion is enough for two lunches (at least for me). It was a little messy so I was glad I was outside to enjoy it. It's a small space inside (perhaps 5 square table for 2 each) and it's almost kitty corner to my favorite shop, Oliver & Chatfield. Since it's a little further down on Liberty street, you'll find plenty of street parking.

The oxtails fell off the bone and I found myself using my fingers to get every morsel. Service needs a lot of work. We were seated for 20 minutes where we were told someone would be over to take our order. I saw 3 servers coming and going to other tables but never looking in my direction after 20 minutes a server was lurking from the main dining area looking out when she finally made eye contact with me I believe the expression on my face made her aware that no one came over. She approached and asked had anyone came over. She proceeded to finally take our orders. After we received our orders I asked for a spoon for the oxtails. She came out 4 times to help others at their table, then she noticed me trying to get gravy on my rice with a fork and I guess it clicked she returned hands full with said spoon wrapped in a napkin I had to take it from her because she was unable to hand it to me. Food is great but the service REALLY NEEDS WORK. When your patrons are seated PLEASE DON'T LET THEM JUST SIT THERE.

I was craving something hearty and healthy so naturally, I went for the pearly bowl which originally comes with couscous, roasted cauliflower, golden raisins (trust me these add THEEEE touch), pickled red onions (YUM), tahini sauce, avocado, and a lemon-mint vinaigrette - THISSSSSS. I ended up substituting the couscous for quinoa which was perfect for the type of meal I wanted before traveling. Can we talk about that lemon-mint vinaigrette? It's perfectly green and brings the whole bowl together, SO GOOD. Wish I would've gotten a whole side of that. Ordering delivery through Yelp is so easy thanks to DoorDash and I was so thankful I didn't have to be stuck eating chips and m&ms - love these but I needed a little something more. From the very beginning, Chris, the owner, was an absolute pleasure to work with. Since The Beacon Daily typically does not offer direct delivery for a la carte orders, I explained that this lunch was part of a very important three day celebration and that everything needed to be handled with extra care. Without hesitation, Chris personally stepped in, took ownership of the order, and even delivered it himself all the way to Glynwood's Perkins House. His attention to detail, responsiveness, and willingness to accommodate our requests were truly remarkable. He thoughtfully provided compostable plates, napkins, and flatware and made sure every aspect of the order was handled flawlessly. It is rare to find a business owner so personally invested in ensuring a customer's event is successful. Most importantly, the food was fantastic. The event planner shared that the lunch was extremely well received, with guests offering numerous compliments throughout the afternoon. Everything was fresh, delicious, beautifully prepared, and perfect for our group. Chris went above and beyond in every way, and the combination of outstanding food and exceptional customer service made The Beacon Daily one of the highlights of the event weekend. If you're looking for a caterer or lunch provider that truly cares about quality and customer experience, look no further than The Beacon Daily. Great spot for lunch!…read more My husband and I stopped in on our way back to our Airbnb after a long morning hike. This place is counter service, so we made our way directly to the register to place our order. Upon ordering, we were warned that it would be at least a 30 minute wait until our food was ready due them being short staffed. Although we were hungry, we weren't in a rush and truly appreciated the heads up! I ordered the Eggplant Parmesan sandwich and WOWZA! The sandwich was HUGE! I took a photo of my Gatorade bottle laying next to it for comparison (haha). I hardly ate half of it because it was so filling, however it was definitely delicious. My husband ordered a sandwich of his own (although I can't remember which one) and he was equally pleased. We also ordered a side of tots which were crispy and salty, just how I like them! My husband and I definitely could've shared one sandwich as we both don't eat a lot in one sitting, so this is something to keep in mind if you're reading this before your first visit here!! The weather was absolutely gorgeous so we chose to sit on the front patio. It was such a lovely atmosphere for lunch! Also, because we were sitting outside, they told us to come back in 30 minutes to check if our order was ready because we wouldn't be able to hear them call our name. All in all, a pleasant experience! Would definitely recommend this place for lunch, especially if you're in the mood for sandwiches.
