I wish I'd known about this place sooner! I've lived in the neighborhood for 15+ years and finally gave it a try after reading good reviews. I hadn't had a haircut in a LONG time and had honestly been avoiding it because it's usually such a hassle. Cindy did a great job and made me feel really comfortable! Went to see Anne tonight for the first time. I fired my last stylist. I can't remember the last time I have left a salon happy. Anne is amazing. Not only is she a great stylist and pro colorist, she is a great teacher! I learned more in one appointment with her then I have ever learned with any of the other stylists I have had ever. My other stylist was rough and pulled my hair, she also ruined my hair color. Anne is gentle and takes care of my hair! I haven't been this happy in a long time. I'm so glad I found her on yelp!! I hope others read this so they can also visit the best stylist in town. I'm hooked! My hair hasn't been touched in quite some time (mostly because I was letting the ombre grow out), but it definitely needed some life brought back to it. Anne was the life-giver of my hair. Not only is she very talented, but the prices are uncomparable to anything I've found in Houston. i just stepped out of my first haircut at this place and i love it! now i HATE getting my haircut. i hate the inconvenience, i hate searching for a new hair stylist when you move neighborhoods or states, i hate the clean-cut way i look after a haircut, i hate having to spend money on my ever growing hair no matter how much i'm trying to get it to stop growing. that being said, tony made my experience a FANTASTIC one. he was super fast, i was probably in the chair for about 10 minutes. he knew exactly what i wanted (which is not easy because i don't even know what i want). i even told him i wanted my hair to be styled differently than what i came in with and he didn't miss a beat and whipped up something that looks great! AND.... men's haircuts are $9!!!!! I love this salon! Everyone is professional and friendly. I first went to Anne about 2 years ago, and wanted to change my style but had no idea what I wanted exactly. I had always kept my hair natural before that visit, and was nervous about it. Anne was awesome. She gave me beautiful natural looking highlights, cut, and styled my hair. And I loved it! I have had color and cut by Anne a few times. I feel color is her stronger suit. The cut is NOT a precision cut. Lots of uneven lines and the blending is not good. The prices are very reasonable. I will not be returning to the salon based primarily on the absolute FILTH of the entire salon. Every stylist cuts multiple clients without sweeping or cleaning. Hair and dust are everywhere. I saw the owner (Tony) cut his nails, dropping the clippings on the floor and walk away, all in view of clients. Every station is dirty and unorganized. For some reason most of the stylist face the clients away from the mirror. I prefer to face the mirror and watch the process on order to speak to the stylist about the services I am receiving. I am truly amazed this salon can pass any state board inspection. Such a shame, I think the stylist have talents but I cannot get past the disgusting state the salon is in. read more

All right, I'm sold. After reading so many reviews on yelp, I decided to give this salon a try and I'm so glad I did! I have driven all over Houston and tried various salons, but no place has given me the attention and care that Tony's does. And at $11, the price can't be beat! (Side note: shampooing and styling is extra. I prefer a dry cut though because I feel like its a more accurate representation of how my hair will be.) Tony is nice without being over the top. He listens to what you want while asking questions to elaborate and make you feel comfortable. Because of my terrible experiences with stylists using razors, my first request was that he doesn't use one. Tony immediately said "I never use a razor." This was a clear indication that the man knows his hair. I totally trusted him after that, and the result was fantastic! After reading all the reviews I wanted to like this place but it was a total disaster. To start, the "salon" is quite dirty and unappealing. Holes in the walls, mold, etc. Still I wanted to give it a chance a sat down with my stylist. Unfortunately I do not know her name because she barely said two words to me. I asked for a simple trim and ash brown hair. I ended up with uneven layers and dark red hair with green roots.It was very clear that Anne was the only person at the salon who knows what she is doing as she left her client to come and help my stylist out. I left the salon looking worse than when I walked in. I have had to wear a hat for 3 days because my stylist left brown hair dye all over the sides of my face. DO NOT COME TO THIS SALON! I've been debating to write this review or not for a while. Because I do think Ann herself is a super nice woman. But the hair dye that I got from here I couldn't be more embarrassed about. When I texted Ann, I showed her my hair and I told her the color I want. She quoted me a price and I told her I don't care what the price is, I just want a high quality job. She told me that her dye would last me a year and it was going to be great. I was pretty happy so I went to see her. The color wasn't exactly what I was wanting or what I had shown her but I was ok about it. Then after ONE week my hair turned that nasty brass color and the streaks looked awful. They looked thick and chunky. It looked so bad I was actually embarrassed to show it to anyone. I always kept it in a high pony tail to cover up the job. Do I like the customer service, yes. This place is amazing! I usually get $65-$90 haircuts and I end up not liking the haircut anyways. The service is wonderful and the employees were unbelievably kind. My first appointment was with Mr. Nasser and we talked about getting my hair cut into a different style; I only sat there for about half an hour including the blowout, and I absolutely loved it! I would recommend this place to everyone, especially if it is their first time trying a new hair salon, the service, quality, and finished pieces are wonderful! Though my hair cut turned out a little short and more straight then asymmetrical then I wanted it (which I should've described the style I wanted more) this place is great! Nice atmosphere, clean and cheap, I'm probably going to continue going here in the future. It's only 12 dollars for a women's haircut and l was able to be in and out in under an hour. The person cutting my hair was very sweet, taking their time to cut my hair and was being very attentive while doing it. Tony's Salon is a true gem. Awesome prices, easy to get to, great hours, and then there's Tony and Ann. I cannot say enough about them. They currently cut my hair, my daughter's and my daughter-in-law's. We are all so happy to have found them. Ann is a hair color master, and the cuts are precise. They listen to you, and I have yet to be misunderstood! I first went to the wrong shop at the other end of the plaza. I had thick straight long hair, and rationalized that EVERYBODY should be able to get straight hair in a gentle slope. Looked great from the front, and she also threaded my eyebrows. Over the next couple of days, I realized that there was a longer piece in the back. I asked a coworker to trim it off, and she said, "Let me take a picture of the back." I was aghast at the horrific job she had done. That's when I walked in a Saturday, told Tony what happened, and bless him, he worked me in and fixed my hair.
