I came here last night, the first night of Passover just before 9 pm, and ordered a brisket sandwich to go, and the sandwich barely had any meat on it. I was at the TooJays in Boca the week before and had a great pastrami sandwich with plenty of meat. I've been to the new TooJay's location a number of time, their vegetarian options are great and very compatible with my new eating habits. They also have delicious black and white cookies. Every time I've visited they've been very busy! Which is great because they were kind of slow when they were located in the Boynton mall. The staff is very friendly, they have a lady that is always working at the counter with the desserts and take out pick ups and she is always so friendly and happy to be at work. She treats the customers like family and it's always a pleasure walking in and being greeted by her enthusiastic hello. The food has been great, vegetable Quesidilia is delicious. Their small plate potato pancakes are great and i wouldn't consider it small at all! All around great environment, staff, and food. The only negative I have to say is the last time I visited my significant other ordered the roasted vegetable pasta and it had a foreign object that was hard and sharp and got stuck in the back of his throat. Luckily it made its way out of throat but still wondering what it was. And they've worked out any kicks they might have had at the beginning. read more

I was so hopeful about this place as the menu online seemed to entice! When we walked in we were seated quickly. The server came fairly quickly to get our drink order. She brought our water and coffee after a long wait and the coffee was cold. It took another long while to get cream. Then we ordered...the first thing to be brought out was a sad looking salad. It wasnt fresh and nothing more than iceberg lettuce and a large cucumber slice with onions. The server was no where to be found to ask for napkins or utensils. When my half pastrami sandwich and my friends blintzes came, we were truly disappointed. The pastrami was flavorless and the blintzes tasted like the oil they were fried in. I'm very disappointed in this location's downward spiral. The service really has gone down over the years. I've been going there for years and alot of the same people still work there. However, I always have to wait for take out orders, noone ever knows what the veg or soup dujour is and there is a universal "deer in headlight" look on all of the staff's faces. I don't have a lot of confidence that the salads are that fresh either. They all seemed to have a sort of "film" over them last time I looked. The corned beef is just meh, doesnt' taste like real corned beef. I think Too Jays got a little big for their britches and their focus on service is slacking big time. This kid working the counter one night didn't seem to know his latkas from his Kasha Varnishkes and I went in to give him my order as they were closing within 20 minutes. I ordered a turkey burger and veg instead of fries. After he didn't know what the veg was, he asked two other staff members who each said something different at the same time. "Broccoli" "green beans". So i left it up to them to figure it out while I went to the ladies room. Do you know that by the time I got back to the counter the three of them were still standing there trying to punch in my order. They must've thought I was a kvetching queen when I grabbed my poor son who had to sit there and wait and told them all, "you know what just cancel the order it's gonna take too long" and then i got the "deer in headlight" speechless gaze from all three of the untrained, menu knowledge defficient, computer literacy challenged Too Jays employees. read more

Not sure what my grandparents love so much about this restaurant. The food looked OK but wasn't that good. I had an omelet with cheddar and spinach, which came with a latke and a bagel. The omelet was edible but not especially good; the eggs didn't have a great texture and the omelet itself didn't have much flavor. At least it was full of spinach, but the cheese was all in thick giant chunks, which is not appealing to me, especially as the eggs cool and the cheese congeals. The latke was good and crispy on the outside but was so thick that the inside was mealy (raw?) and unappealing. The bagel tasted like round bread; it lacked any of the chewy resistance of a real bagel. The cream cheese was tasty. I tasted the fries, which looked good, but were not crispy at all. The waitress forgot my grandmother's soup, and then, when we asked for it, told us that she had already eaten it. She also forgot the coffee. She did let my grandmother use 2 coupons, though. read more

Having eaten at other locations, I figured how bad could it be? A deli is a deli, right? WRONG. Upon arrival, we were seated quickly and our waitress appeared shortly thereafter. Since I was in the mood for comfort food and one of the daily specials was open faced roast beef sandwich, I ordered that. My husband ordered the corned beef and cabbage. I ask our server whether the roast beef was lean and she looked puzzled, and said, well, it's roast beef. Service was pretty quick not long like some other reviewers, but things went down hill quickly. The "roast beef" was obviously deli roast beef with absolutely no flavor what so ever. Same for the gravy and mashed potatoes. They tasted like they were made from a mix. The beef was fatty and dismal.Serving the meaton rye bread with instant brown gravy capped off a really bad meal. My husband's corned beef was of some strange consistency, like an Arby's, maybe-not like real deli corned beef. It was lean, is about the only good thing I can say about it, but it was tough and tasteless. The cabbage was not cooked enough and was hard, and again tastless. I can appreciate that many of the patrons are older and may like bland food, but give the rest of us a break and season things!! Seeing that we left our food on the plates, the waitress ask if we wanted to take it home. I mentoned that I would not ever order the roast beef sandwhich again, which she simply ignored. I have had more than one terrible experience at the Boynton Beach Two Jays. I will never go back. Always check your Togo orders closely, open everything while you're at the restaurant, before you leave. They will get your order wrong, they will forget items! This past time I went in to get take out, I ordered 2 sandwiches. I also asked for Russian dressing for the sandwiches. I have been ordering the same thing for years, my husband and I really enjoy the sandwiches with the Russian dressing. I reminded the man who took our order twice about the dressing because with out it the sandwiches are very dry and in the past they have forgotten. The man who took my order has taken my order other times. When I went in to pick up the order, he pointed to the bags sitting on the end of the counter and said that's your order, so I picked the bags up and went home. When I got all the way home and opened up the bags, there was no Russian dressing. There was no sauce at all. That completely ruined our dinner, the sandwiches were dry and not good. The roll that my sandwich was on tasted stale. I figured since I reminded him twice the cups of Russian dressing would be in bag. I called the manager right away, to let her know the issue. I don't live close enough to drive all the way back up to the mall to get the dressing and to be honest it would have been a huge hassle to have to do that. The manager said that she would send gift cards to cover our total order, since I paid cash for the take out she couldn't credit my debit card. I gave her all of of my information and she said that she would get the gift cards right out to me. I was happy with that resolution, even though our dinner was ruined. I thought that was nice, good customer service. Now here it is 10 days later and I have received nothing. Did the manager just tell me she was going to send me gift cards for my order to just get me off of the phone? I then emailed the corporate office and received a response from the executive assistant to the president and CEO. There was no apology about the experience or the fact that it had been 15 days, it just said please confirm your address. Here it is a total of 26 days and I haven't heard anything from Two Jays. If this had been the first bad experience I had there I wouldn't have even contacted them, but enough is enough. This company does not care about their customers, they do not train their employees well enough and they do not follow through with what they say they are going to do. First experience-carryout lunch for self and a few colleagues. First off salads looked fresh and appetizing. Per feedback they were tasty and filling. Unfortunately a few came without dressing but we made it work. I had a wrap which was supposed to come with chips and a cookie. I actually made my decision because I wanted the salty/sweet vs my usual salads for lunch. Opps no chips, fruit salad instead. And no black and white cookie!!!! The wrap was nothing particularly special and didn't include the cheese I asked for. Definitely won't seek this place out, but would maybe consider giving it another chance if the opportunity presented itself read more

Needed comfort food..is it a cold or is it a flu..not sure but my buddy says lets grab a nice deli sandwich and you can have chicken noodle soup. Sounds good. I wanted to take him to the Boynton Diner which I loved but he says he never had a bad deal at TooJays so that is where we went. Hard to park as the theater was packed! Short wait inside. Waiter excellent, says he has been working there for years I trust him when he says don't get the corn beef Rueben go for the Rachel with the pastrami, it is much tastier and the soup he can do too as the side, even give me the bowl not the cup with a matzo ball too! Short wait. And then the soup comes and I'm a bit disappointed. The bowl was a bit on the smallish side though certainly loaded up with plenty of carrot celery type stuff stuff, even some chicken The matzo ball was about half as good as my bobbes so it was decent, not outstanding...Sandwiches arrive My buddy got the Rachel too. He complained to me halfway through it, He starts picking at it. He says he got an end cut, too fatty. First time ever disappointed there bla bla I says my sandwich was pretty good. Not a monster but adequate for the cost I suppose and look I'm not feeling like Tarzan anyways so.. End of story is I was satisfied but not thrilled The food is good but not outstanding, hence a 3 star. It's a place to take grand parents or kids down here when visiting or good for a bite before or after the movies. I was disappointed to find that this "local"/multi location deli/restaurants has a " corporate policy " that keeps their televisions tuned to Fox News. I found this out when I asked if the set could be changed to a more non slanted news presentation . I'm small potatoes but I won't be coming back to visit here or at any of their other locations . I can't support a business that caters to this mindset . I prefer real news by journalists and professional broadcasters . Not fake news spouted by truth twisters. A network that had a guy on for SEVEN YEARS as a military and government analyst that was a fake and now serving time in prison for fraud . And a network plaques by discrimination lawsuits and sex scandals . The server was nice and polite , the roast beef tender and mashed potatoes ok. Caesar had huge romaine pieces . Never got the bread that came with meal and when asked about when paid ( and left a25 percent tip) was told they don't send with meal unless you ask for it. Lol. Lesson learned :) read more

I've had TooJays before as it was catered by my job, however this was my first time visiting and sitting down at an actual location. As we walked in I was greeted and seated promptly the decor was pretty nice too overall. The menu had something for everyone and Our waitress was really nice. But it seems as though that's were things pretty much ended. We waited maybe 20 mins or so for the orders to come. I ended up having the Breakfast Combo, my first impression was how small the portions looked compared to other non-chain deli's I've visited. I was shocked at how tiny and dry the home fries were and everything including the waffle was luke warm at best which was a huge disappointment, In all honestly it didn't seem as though everything was made to order, almost seemed like batches are made early on then served. However I was hungry and I really dislike sending food back so down the hatch it went... I've heard good things about TooJays, but I was not very impressed by my first visit. read more

Went for dinner with my dad tonight. Didn't expect much, as I'm not a huge fan of delis. I was pleasantly surprised. Kerriann, or server, was top notch. She was on point with everything from personality to drink refills to follow up. She didn't miss a step. As for the food? Wow! Garlic chicken pasta. .. absolutely wonderful. Myself and my coworkers just placed a pick up order from here. When my coworker arrived back at the office with our food, I couldn't have been more disappointed. I ordered a HOT ham and swiss sandwich with french fries. I opened my box to find NO french fries which upset me to begin with, then when I opened my sandwich wrapper, I was livid after realizing that it was a cold sandwich. The menu stated "pressed" and it was titled a "hot ham and swiss", it was not pressed, it wasn't even warmed in a microwave. It was just a cold sandwich! Been going to this and other Toojays for years. Been disappointed here before but decided to try it again last night because it is convenient to the Cinemark movie. A mistake. We got there at 5pm in order to catch a 6:30 show, place was mostly empty, so crowding was no excuse. The onion soup was good, would have been better if it was hot. Our entrees were tasteless and not hot. The service was lousy, the waitress kept on ignoring my signal that I wanted to talk to her. the experience was to say the least horrible, the server was terrible, forgot so many things, his mind was not there at all wo serve people,had to keep asking for things over and over, the topper was when we realized he had alcohol on his breath no wonder he cant concentrate on his job and what restaurant allows a person with alcohol on their breath to work and wait on people, they should know better thats not really good business and its dangerous for the customers depending on his alcohol content, we cut the meal short not wanting to be waited on by him as you never know and didnt like the smell of alcohol, very unhealthy, his name was Tim, good luck, we cant go back for fear of being waited on by him and the atmosphere was not the greatest I think he contributed to that also. read more

Horrible service by Ellen. Took over an hour for our food, after we repeatedly tried to flag her down to get refills and ask where our food was, only to get ignored. We finally flagged down someone who brought us cold food . Our Bread on our sandwiches was hard as a rock. The meat on our sandwiches was all dried out. Fries were cold. Still no refills. She never checked on us. She seemed to be extremely busy while all the other waitresses were just sort of going about their business, taking care of their tables, not overly busy. What makes me mad, is that she purposely looked right at us and walked away as we were trying to flag her down to try to get refills, and find out where our food was after we'd been sitting there waiting for our food for over an hour when the rest of her Section that was pretty much empty was now full and everyone was eating except us. We had to ask for mustard. We had to ask for catch up. Which we had to ask for from passerby waitresses and bus boys because of course, she ignored us. Not to mention that she reeked like alcohol.... I don't mean that she reeks like alcohol in the way that you reek like alcohol because you spilled a beer or wine on your self. I mean she was like alcohol like she had been drinking either the night before or that day. So now we are done with our food. And I would like a box to take my other half of my sandwich home so that I can change the bread out with fresh bread and basically remake it myself. So she finally comes to the table after we waited forever and flagged her down cuz now she wants to get paid as well. And when I thought she said that I want anything else, I said "may I please have a box." She said "I just asked you if you wanted a box" REALLY snotty!!!! WELL...... EXCUSE ME!! She slammed the check down and walked away and then came back and brought the box and slammed it down. I will never ever ever go back to TooJays again. I don't care. I will make my own pastrami sandwich and my own Reuben...... who treats people like that? Well I know about a few better places to go get deli food. The first place would be 3 G's on Atlantic in Delray Beach. That place is amazing. And for the most amazing pastrami sandwich, you can go to Primanti Brothers. This restaurant has been a favorite for years but tonight was horrible. Although we were seated immediately, our waitress started off attentive but after ordering, we waited about 30 minutes for food to arrive. Restaurant was busy for a typical Saturday night but nothing unusual. Waitress needed prompting after 30 minutes to check status with kitchen. Admittedly we were in a patient mood. Food was good but after taking a walk through to rear restrooms came the realization that the restaurant was pretty gross. Seemed like no one had bothered to run a vacuum through in many hours. There was debris everywhere under tables and just looked like a complete mess. The ladies room was also horribly neglected. The floors in each stall had debris everywhere, trash can overflowing, toilets required cleaning, sinks and floors were sticky. Basically just a hot mess. This turned me off so much that we skipped dessert. I hated to think what the kitchen looked like. We did have to wait some more, unnecessarily, for neglectful waitress to finally bring check. In total, it took about two hours for two people to have a simple dinner. What a shame the kitchen and service was so slow. I think its time to try the new location in Wellington and forget about this one for a while. read more

We will be coming back! Thank you to the general manager, Dean for reaching out to us after we did not have the best first time experience at this location. It was comforting to know that they do care and took the time to address the issue. He called me personally which I very much appreciated! He looked into the situation and was very apologetic and wanted us to come back and give them another shot. We came back this Friday night and had a great experience. Dean was very kind and welcoming and checked on us multiple times. Stacy our waitress was wonderful and we felt like welcomed customers. She was very attentive and had great suggestions on what to get. The food was excellent! I ordered the crusted Cod which was delicious and my husband ordered the corn beef and cabbage which he loved. And their pumpkin cheesecake is very good! My husband usually meets with two coworkers every other Friday night at Ale House but he mentioned he would try to convince them to go to Too Jay's instead.
