I thought about taking home a piece of carrot cake, but I decided against it, as I don't need the extra sugar. Our server was very attentive and cheerful, which is always nice. I had iced tea and she gave me a refill to go, which I appreciated. TooJay's also catered my Thanksgiving luncheon at work, and they did a beautiful job. This isn't my favorite chain, but so far I've had good luck with this location. Very good! Ordered takeout here for my grandfathers birthday. The order was correct and fresh, the woman at the counter was super friendly. When we walked in we noticed the place was very clean. I got a roast beef sandwich and I loved it. Plenty of roast beef and it was tender and yummy. I got it on rye bread and it was fluffy and fresh. I put mayo on it. I brought my own chips and ate the sandwich with them. I liked the coleslaw, but the thought the pickle slice was small. My dad and grandpa got corned beef and really Liked it. We had a very good lunch here. They were quite busy when we stopped by, but both the service and the kitchen were fast and efficient. They had a soup and sandwich special which we both decided to get. I got matza ball soup and a chicken salad sandwich. He got chicken noodle soup and a tuna salad sandwich. The server brought the soups out first. They were both piping hot and packed with chicken and veggies. His had noodles and mine has a large fluffy matzo ball in a tasty chicken broth. The soup was very good. Our half sandwiches were both on rye bread with a lettuce leaf and tomato slices. There was a slightly sweet crunchy cole slaw served on the side. And a marinated dill pickle spear. I really liked my dill chicken salad sandwich-- chunky and very fresh. Not too much mayo, either. The rye bread was very fresh. My only minor quibble the bread was quite soft in the center and got a bit mushy from the wet salad. That rye bread would have been better slightly toasted. I'll try to remember that for next time. Brought a friend for an end-of-year late lunch. Adriel took very good care of us throughout our time there. The hot chocolate was flavorful; her lemonade was perfect. We both had the Stuffed Cabbage Dinner with the well done broccoli (perfect!). I had the cup of beef cabbage soup and she has the chicken noodle soup. Delicious! We took half the stuffed cabbage home, as we wanted dessert... The the desserts! The killer chocolate cake is aptly named, and she loved her banana dream! Took half of those home too! TooJays has my heart after visiting for breakfast the other weekend. I didn't realize they had relocated , so when I noticed this location I knew I had to try it. Came here on a Sunday morning and was surprised that is wasn't too busy. My waiter was super friendly, got me seated right away and brought us coffee. My food was unbelievable. The waffle was thick and fluffy. I of course had to get the warm fruit topping, which I'm pretty sure is a cheesecake topping, and it is by far the greatest combo I've ever had with a Belgian waffle. My dad ordered the French toast and it was made on brioche bread, making it fluffy and light. They are also a deli, so they have huge cases of bakery treats and other deli goodies. I skipped past the deli stuff because of the scrumptious looking cakes of course, but everything I saw looked very fresh and well worth trying. It seems like TooJay's has so much to offer !!!! Such an utter disappointment. It's St. Patrick's Day and we tried a couple of places to get a corn beef and cabbage dinner but everyone was sold out. We went here in a last attempt, there was a 45 minute wait so we opted to order to go. It was clear that Toojays was not staffed for today, maybe not expecting as many people to resort to a deli for their St. Patty's day dinner. But after we waited awhile, hearing other customers complain about various things, we placed our order. They already ran out of the irish cream cheesecake but we were able to get corn beef and cabbage. They apparently didn't ring us up for the appetizer we ordered, they didn't hear it so it wasn't just missing but corn beef and cabbage meal was refrigerator cold. Not only is it not made fresh but they forgot to microwave it. Very disappointing. Obviously we need to plan better next year but when I spend $20 on a special I expect it to at the very least be warm. It makes me question the quality control. I just went into 2J's to place an order for the holiday for about 15 people. Gentlemen went in before me to pick up his order, but unfortunately, he placed his order at a different location and so the people were going to replace the order. Two people working on the order. The gentleman asked if he should call the other location, but the one person said she would do it. She was on the phone for 15 minutes. Comfy leather booths and again really clean. I got the cobb salad and it was great, loaded with crispy bacon,, chunks of boneless chicken tons of fresh greens and a healthy dose of egg. Hubby got the reuben it was stacked, he said it was the best reuben he has ever tasted. Also steak fries and slaw. The price was great, helpings were big enough for both of us, I even had plenty to take home. Our server was very good, he was always available to us but didn't come back too many times. We came to purchase some baked goods but wanted a second opinion & the cashier answered all of our questions about cookie platters & prices. We decided on the banana dream cake which was $25. It was well worth the price as it was absolutely delectable. The banana cream filling is refreshing & delightful, the chocolate ganache topping is lovely & the second light chocolate cream complements all of the elements beautifully! We ordered two classic sandwiches through GrubHub. It took over an hour to get the meals and they were both wrong. We called the restaurant and politely asked them to correct the order and redeliver the correct sandwiches. The manager was incredibly rude and said it was not his responsibility to take care of incorrect orders, and that most likely they sent out the right thing and we were wrong, how ridiculous is that when I order a turkey sandwich and I got nothing but a dry corn beef sandwich.
