To start, right off the bat I was so impressed with the friendly customer service. It seldom that this happens; either the service is good and the food not so good or the food is good but the service is not so good. However, this is a 5/STAR for because BOTH were intact. Our waitress Stacy was amazing, polite and went the "EXTRA" mile kudos to her. Had an amazing grill cheese yes grilled cheese soooo good. For sure will visit again. TooJay's is another one of those places I like to frequent for a low-key breakfast or homestyle lunch or dinner. If you like homestyle food and deli food this is a great place for you. I think that they have one of the best Rubens around and all of their homestyle dinner dishes are great such as their pot roast and turkey dinner. Hits the spot when you're craving something homestyle. I give them five stars because they are what they are.... it's not a gourmet restaurant. They are very consistent in their food preparation and presentation. I like the service at the Boynton Beach Location and find that the waiters and waitresses are friendly and observant. There is a lot of variety on the menu recently I discovered their everything cream cheese which is awesome especially on an everything bagel! If you've never tried Tookays give yourself a treat and go home with a box of black and white cookies. Yum! read more

The second round still had black floating specks, which they claimed were coffee grounds. Which would have been great, if we were drinking coffee. The food was just okay. Walking in I was very surprised it wasn't busy on a Sunday morning and now I know why. When we came in we were sat right away which was nice but after that things weren't good at all. Our waiter who is not personable at all came over asked what we'd like to drink, he brought my tea but it took him 10 minutes to bring the coffee for the other 3 in my party. We ordered and then waited and waited and after 40 minutes we got our food. It arrived cold , the oatmeal had a film on it which means it was sitting for a while after being plated. Waffle, and both potato pancake orders we cold also. He never once asked if everything was ok or if we needed anything else. I have worked in the food service industry for 32 years and this was the worst service I have received. I would understand if they were busy but there was only our table and another table in our section. This place is amazing!! We started off a little bit rocky as they were short servers but we found that our waiter was very very willing to get our order right!! He brought us everything we asked for. Went to TooJays on Thursday for lunch. The service was terrible. Had a young waitress who was busy playing up to two young men who were at her tables. I waited 15 minutes before my order was placed and then another 15 before my food came. My fries we undercooked and my brisket french dip lacked flavor. I never got a refill on my ice tea nor did she ever come back to ask me if my food was alright. If the busboy hadn't asked me if it was okay I doubt anyone would have cared. I just left the restaurant with my family after waiting for 20 minutes at the table and had no server even come by to take the drink order. The place wasn't even that busy. I went to talk to the manager and he seemed like he didn't know much about what's going on. He said he would get our server but we waited five more minutes and decided to leave. Every other TooJays seems to be better than this one. What to expect: 1. Good food, if it shows up 2. All male staff, like weird old men who might play a antagonist in the Hannibal series (not being rude, I really am just being honest, some of these guys are very odd) 3. A fake deli in the front with good desserts If you want TooJays and you're stuck right between two of them, go to the one that's not this one and enjoy a better staff, cleaner environment, and better service. I have been using TooJays's catering service for many years for my company's meetings. Usually they delivered from Boca Raton locations to my office. My company always enjoyed the food and services from them. They were always generous bringing us enough serving plates and utensils without any special requests. Last Sunday, I was in need to pick up a cake when I was in Boynton Beach area. TooJay's Banana Dream cake was in my mind. That cake is so yummy! So I popped into the restaurant in Boynton Beach Congress Ave location and purchased a whole Banana Dream cake. Restaurant seems busy. Everyone behind the counter was doing something else. I waited only few minutes. Server Rafael came and helped me. I told him exactly which Banana Dream cake I wanted as they had more than one display out. Rafael was very patience. While Rafael was packing my cake, I asked him to give me 6 disposable plates and 6 forks. Never a doubt in my mind asking such items would be an issue. Rafael seems new. He went to ask another server where to find the items. Nik, who I found out his name later, showed Rafael where to get the plates and forks. Both were very friendly. Suddenly the manager named Perry behind the register started raising his voice and scolded Rafael "What does she want?". Perry was literally standing 3 feet in front of me when he was asking such question. Rafael told him about my request of plates and forks. Perry told Rafael directly in a rude tone " just want you to know we don't provide these items!". The whole time Perry pretended I was invisible without any eye contact with me when he was scolding Rafael. Evidently Perry has no customer service skill. Even plates and forks are not supposed to be included in my purchase, Perry should have told Rafael after I left instead of announcing his message in front of the customer. Shame on him!!! I don't think Perry is qualified for a manager position!!! I would have given zero star but thanks to Rafael and Nik's service, I added one star! read more

OK! We went in Wednesday 5/29/13 at 8:30 PM and grabbed a booth as the sign said "Please seat yourself". Waited waited waited for about 10 minutes as a few wait staff walked around but never came over to greet us. Tried to get a couple of their attention, but everyone seemed to be in a tunnel vision state. After waiting 15 minutes, we got up and walked out. As we were leaving (we were by the hostess stand) a waitress asked if she can help us. I told her "Not anymore! We waited long enough". She seemed to not care and kept walking. They recently opened in this location. Service is extremely slow and it seems as though they think they are doing you a favor if they wait on you. When we wanted to order dessert our coupon stipulated that we could share one. In honesty we hadn't read the fine print where it enumerated our choices. We said we'd like to share a brownie and we're told we couldn't have that it was not one of the choices available to us (2 brownies would have cost less than one piece of cake) Also when my dining companion wanted to take home her coleslaw they gave her two sauce containers that were ridiculously small so we called the mgr over and he tried to convince us they would work. After much back & forth and not too pleasant an attitude he finally brought over a to go small deli container which would have been appropriate in the first place. I wanted to try something different so I tried the meatloaf dinner. I was truthfully disappointed. It tasted more like one of those frozen Salisbury steak dinners you buy at Publix that comes with Mac and Cheese. It didn't taste like meatloaf and it was a bit mushy for a meatloaf consistency. It was edible, and the gravy, mushrooms, mashed potatoes and glazed carrots were good. I wouldn't personally order it again unless I was looking for a Salisbury steak taste. The waiter was very courteous and helpful. Restaurant was clean, comfortable and not overly noisy. I would definitely come back again but next time stick to the Rueben Platter. The Rueben is always a safe choice. Desserts here are pretty tasty too and good to take home since my meal was pretty large in its quantity. My only other issue was the food came out like warm. I don't like food hot boiling so I didn't mind but my mom sent her sandwich back to be reheated up. read more

I have been going to Toojays Boca and Wellington for years and today was my second time at Boynton locations. Im pregnant and needed a snack so I brought my mother who is new to town to grab a small bite. We arrived and were greeted by a middle aged man and women who were warm and welcoming. We decided we would sit instead of eating on the run which was a huge mistake to say the least. The server seemed new and grab our drink orders right away and delivered them. We were sitting directly in front of the POS and could hear her laughing, giggling and flirting with the male server, I peaked my head around and was ignored, finally we got to put in our order after waiting 15 minutes. My mother ordered the brisket platter which I tried and it was the grossest meal I've ever tried. The brisket was mostly fat, and the veggies were soggy. Just a horrible experience and the first impression for my mother who left very hungry since she couldn't eat the meal. Very disappointing! read more

Pleasantly surprised after reading the bad reviews. My takeout order was done correctly (turkey sand on rye) couldn't be too hard to mess up. There is a sense of disorganization and chaos in the place but I think that's because it's a deli in SoFL and the clientele are somewhat "difficult" to deal with. (Used to work as a server in a deli here in 96). A bit pricey $12 for a sandwich but it was packed w meat. Russian and slaw on the side could've been a bit more ample but not a big deal. The employees here take a beating from the patrons from what I've read and I'm here to say thank you to the deli counter guy who took good care of me. I know how hard it is, and people who dine here are demanding and difficult at times. It is SoFL after all. read more

Second time I've been to this location and second time they couldn't get a basic order out. First time let it and contacted them directly so not to write a bad review and give the company a chance to rectify the bad dinning experience on there own. Received a brief phone message from management and to call him back Pete I believe is his name. Well Pete was always busy or not working if you get what I mean. So my mom wants her matzo ball soup I go with my wife to please her. Took 30 minutes for 2 soups to come out. When it got to 50 minutes for basic platter which is a cold item and a wrap we left. No apologies no what can I do for you basically they didn't care or understand why we were leaving? Oh yeah the the food comes out no thank you. Unless you eat before you or have a hour to wait to eat something stay away plenty of same concept restaurants in the area. Shame on you 2 Jays. Also do not attempt to contact me in any manner gave you that chance the first time and even went back when your management failed drastically with there follow up. This place is disgusting. It should be shut down. It should be condemned. The booth we were seated at was beyond gross. I took a bunch of baby wipes and cleaned it. The wipes were covered in filth.. Our waitress was barely there. She was like a mummy . She had zero expression, it was like she woke for Halloween. We ordered 2 turkey sandwiches and it was 35 min . Not once did she come to say, you need a drink , it will be a few more minutes. Nothing. Finally after sitting in this dump our food came. It was the skinniest sandwich ever created. I waited half an hour for a quarter of a turkey sandwich. Mind you the whole time I'm biting my tongue bc my 3 old is with me and loves too jays ( not anymore) During my prolonged wait for the aforementioned turkey sandwich, I was able to survey my surroundings in great detail. This was not a good idea. From the dust on the blinds and booths to the unknown film on the floor, there are a lot of serious issues here. Food was good, service not so good. Although we did enjoy our dinner, we found the service to be unacceptable. Our waitress did not bother to great us, or introduce herself, or even offer a smile. She was training a new employee who had a great personality when she was allowed to speak. We had to wait for our dessert for 15 minutes while our coffee got cold. Waitress in training offered and delivered more hot coffee. We can't complain about the food, as it was delicious, but the service could definitely use improvement. Ordered drinks, and even though seated next to station where drinks were dispensed, had to remind our waiter twice to bring drinks. Each had a cup of matzoball soup. One had two balls the other one. I am honestly quite shocked to see some of the reviews here. It's quite interesting to see. I have gone a couple times and never had a bad experience with the waiters/waitresses. I've always received good and friendly service. My go-to is their rueben sandwich. I think it's a very good rueben. I also got their sheppards pie before and that was very good. My girlfriend loves their motzo ball soup. I didn't realize they were moved as well. I went when they were next to the mall. However, I will say I am sort of a "plain-Jane" and get the same thing every time so I am not totally diverse with the menu. However, I have gone with my girlfriend, my mom, and her dad a few times and never had a complaint about the food or our service. Place is always clean when I go. They send some pretty good coupons out too every so often and prices are reasonable in general so it's a great value for the quality of food you're getting. read more

I have been to numerous Too Jays locations and this one is by far the worst one I've ever been to. My go-to order is the reuben, I never get anything else, and usually I love it. I moved to boynton and was excited to have Too Jays right down the street. I have been to this location twice and both times weren't good. The first time I dined in the restaurant and two of the people I was with had to send their food back because their burgers were essentially raw after ordering them medium-well and well done. My reuben and fries were cold. Today, I ordered the reuben to-go. Again, the sandwich was cold and falling apart, and the fries were cold and raw (white and squishy). I live 2 minutes from the restaurant, so I know the food didn't get that cold on my way home. The fries were inedible and the sandwich was so sad and disappointing. It hurts me to say it, but I will never go back to this location. read more

Service was so mediocre, we had a guy who thought his jokes were 'funny' I think he was trying way too hard, he kept repeating thinking we didn't hear them. They had a very limited menu because we went there with a coupon they had sent, it was not free just to clarify. Ok, so now I know better, that was the ONLY reason to go. I saw we were not the only ones trying it out. Just a thought if you want people to have a good experience at your restaurant perhaps allow them to eat anything of the menu. But instead they had four things to choose from, not the most appetizing either plus small portions. My husband and I went to Tojay's for the first night of Passover. The food was very bad. The chicken and matza ball soup greasy with loads of mushy onions. The chopped liver was very good. However it was downhill from there. The brisket had a bad flavor and returned. I ordered a roast chicken. Dry like eating shoe leather. So we are on line with a party of 4 in front of us. Girl takes her time showing them to their seats and we wait 10 minutes watching the baker work, while he says the girl will be right with you! The place looks shabby and we finally get seated in a banquette which is dirty. Food on the seat (which bus boy should be cleaning up) floor dirty. Place doesn't smell that good and the menus are greasy. Doesn't look like cleaning is a priority. We will NEVER go back there, it was gross. It's like being in Bubbie's OLD dining room. Waited 40 minutes to get our meal in a booth that was dirty and smelled. My corned beef sandwich had so much fat on it that I returned it as inedible. I came here last night, the first night of Passover just before 9 pm, and ordered a brisket sandwich to go, and the sandwich barely had any meat on it. I was at the TooJays in Boca the week before and had a great pastrami sandwich with plenty of meat. I've been to the new TooJay's location a number of time, their vegetarian options are great and very compatible with my new eating habits. They also have delicious black and white cookies. Every time I've visited they've been very busy! Which is great because they were kind of slow when they were located in the Boynton mall. The staff is very friendly, they have a lady that is always working at the counter with the desserts and take out pick ups and she is always so friendly and happy to be at work. She treats the customers like family and it's always a pleasure walking in and being greeted by her enthusiastic hello. The food has been great, vegetable Quesidilia is delicious. Their small plate potato pancakes are great and i wouldn't consider it small at all! All around great environment, staff, and food. The only negative I have to say is the last time I visited my significant other ordered the roasted vegetable pasta and it had a foreign object that was hard and sharp and got stuck in the back of his throat. Luckily it made its way out of throat but still wondering what it was. And they've worked out any kicks they might have had at the beginning. read more
