I want to say how much I really enjoy going to Top Barber. I moved to the South Bay back in August 2016 and was in need of a new barber. I went to a few places until I found Top Barber and was helped out by Anthony Ho. Let me tell you Anthony is the best barber I have had thus far! He is a barber who can line me up with the straight razor like no other. Anthony really pays attention to detail and I feel really taken care of. He also lines up my beard and will use a straight razor to get the best lines. I have gone back to him 14 times for the last 5 months and Anthony is always worth the wait since most times people line up to wait for him. I was just kicked out of this place. This place is close to where I live. I have had terrible haircuts and cuts that bled. These guys made cut my young son and made him cry. Finally I had a latina cut my hair and loved it. She was the only reason I go there. The owner is the gestapo and is always upset because many people wait for her while other barbers sit idle. He has started a appointment one day or more in advance for the girls so other employees get more work. This morning I had an appointment @9:00. This is Not About The Great Barbers, All of them have cut my hair at one time or another, Kent is my Regular Barber, He Became my Guy after Michael Left Years ago, That Tells you I've been coming here awhile if Michael was there, So I enjoy my Time Here Every time, just a simple cut, electric clippers no attachment and a straight Razor shave, about 45 min at most, Today was just Shave my head, I tip well, on a $12 cut $5 on cut and shave $8 tip, I only point this out because the Barbers will now loose out on this very regular customer not coming in any more and the Generous tip I leave, and its NOT their fault. Over the years I've always had great dealings with the Owners mainly Nena a great Lady, and on occasion her husband, Today sadly was my last day there Due to her Husbands Offensive treatment NOT OF OR TO ME ( YET ) But to an Elderly Man that came in and was quietly reading the paper minding his own business waiting on the girl shaving my head to finish, As the girl was finishing up with me the elderly gentleman said he'd wait for her to cut his hair, now for the third time the owner tried to get the elderly man to go to one of the male barbers that was available, clearly the man said no twice before and said he'd wait, this is all 4' away from me and I'm watching it in the mirror, My first thought was customer service is one thing, maybe he's trying to keep people from waiting ? but at the same time if he does that he is now taking customers from the barbers who I believe are paid commission, So as I'm listening to this the elderly man clearly and firmly but respectfully says I've told you twice no I'll wait for the Girl ( Veronica I think ) He then go's back to reading his paper, I close my eyes to relax and seconds later the owner storms back to the Elderly man and starts to Verbally berate the elderly man due to his refusal to accept another barber and something the owner miss understood as rude in the reply from the customer. The owner starts telling the customer he can leave and to read the sign on the wall that says he can refuse to service the customer, The customer is now clearly speechless and trying to figure out what's going on, while the owner is still ranting over and over and pointing to the sign on the wall, He then storms off and starts talking bad about the customer to the other barbers in Vietnamese, Yes I Understood you, Just because I'm Caucasian mean's I'm stupid apparently, Hello I Understand Viet, Korean, Tagalog HELLO, and know enough words to get slapped in many more languages. The Last thing the customer says is are you telling me to leave and the reply was he could get out, the customer wisely chose to say no more and waited for his turn. As this went on it was over in a matter of seconds as you can imagine, I was amazed at what I just saw, When the owner was done ranting to the barbers and came back by I asked him to Apologize to the customer since he was rude and had no right to attack the customer in that manner, The owner now started to verbally attack me and pointed the sign out to me and told me I didn't have to come back, I pointed out a few things to him about customer service and respect, he got worse, I said you should go home for the day or back to your little water store he told me to make him, he actually challenged me to make him go away Physically, He is all of 5'8" and !45# I'm 6'1" and 200# hmmmm not a problem for me, I stayed seated in my chair finished my cut paid and tipped the girl AND I THEN PERSONALLY APOLOGIZED to the elderly man for what he went thru, I said my goodbyes to the staff who were clearly speechless at what just happened and TOO AFRAID TO SPEAK UP, They quietly offered apologies to me, So for me its a matter of respect and principal here, I wont do business with anyone that disrespects the elderly or JUST ABUSES THEM FOR FUN, This man HAS NO PEOPLE SKILLS that's probably why he runs a water store, nene you can find me in your customer base with my phone # 626 893 @#$% Dean S. read more

This used to be #1 spot when I lived in Torrance but I moved away. I still stop in when I'm in the area. My go-to-guy is Daniel who is stationed closest to the cash register. He always takes his time and is very precise. I've had my hair cut by almost all of the other male barbers which also did a really good job. I've been here over 9 times and they continually do a great job. Most barbers here have an understanding on how to do a great fade or taper and I usually leave here with a satisfied haircut. The price for a haircut is hard to beat at $12 and they also take credit card for an additional $1 charge. The only con would be how they manage the clientele that walk in and their organization of it. With so many barbers and multiple entrances it can get a little hectic and I've seen unhappy customers go back and forth about how long they've been waiting and how they were the next in line for a haircut. First time ever going to a barber shop, my family always either went to a family hair stylist we have known forever or just like a supercuts. Best experience I have ever had getting my haircut. I had Anthony and he was just great as well as had a gentle touch. I showed him a picture of what I wanted and he nailed it. After he was done cutting he even straight razor shaved me. And was happy that I got the guy named Daniel since I saw couple of good reviews about him. All I asked for was a regular MID FADE. When he first stared that's when I noticed something was not right. He went wayyyy pass the mid point which I even POINTED OUT before he started. After he was done and saw myself in the mirror I was already really disappointed / frustrated I looked like a pineapple. Goes straight up curves in at the top of my head and comes back out again. After getting in my car I was screaming fu*k fu*k with my windows down and forsure all the pedestrians walking in the area heard me screaming. Anyways this will be my first and last time coming here. Been going here for about three years. Great people with a small town atmosphere. Never a rush job, and you can't beat the value. Love it when they use the straight edge to clean you all up. That said, my haircut isn't fancy (I'm turning 50, and just need to get to work) and I don't require much. Just a #3 and I'm good. My son on the other hand is paying a boatload elsewhere, but heck he's still 19 and trying to impress girls (yeah, I remember those days), so he needs EVERY strand of hair to be cut, combed, gelled and whatever else to be done. I have been coming here for about a year now and I love the quality cuts I get from these guys. Tom the head barber, is awesome, knows how to cut and always does a great job, I have also enjoyed Coco's cuts, she is the Mexican lady in the back, I had another guy give me a cut once there but didn't catch his name, I didn't mutch care for his cutting skills as much as the other two but it still beat most barbers in the area. They do all kinds of mens cuts, I haven't seen any women in the place so I cannot vouch for that.. My search for a good barber is over. I was looking for one close to my home. I found Top Barber and I am not going anywhere else for as long as I can. I don't ask for much due to lack of follicles. But I get more than I bargained for. Use at least 3 clippers on my head then lather and straight razor the back of my neck and sides all for $12. Other barbers would be double that. I'd give five stars to Veronica and one or two stars to the others I've had. Today was my fourth visit----and it was a fiasco. He did just the opposite of what i asked. Most of the hair cutters seem to have terrible English skills. Veronica is great---and her language skills are fine. I rushed back and she did her best to fix the damage...DO NOT let them start unless you know they know what you want. Clippers can do a lot of damage fast! and it's hard to glue hair back on. Got a quality haircut...too bad it wasn't the one I asked for! Asked to clean up the top line of my beard...had to go home and shave because it got sculpted into some tiny '90s boy band BS. Asked for a three-guard blend...got two. Didn't ask for them to spend a bunch of time with a hot towel and straight razor...but they did...and charged me for it...and I was late getting back to work. I had two haircuts so far at this place. Each time a different barber. The two Asian barbers I have had do a good job with the clippers. Place is clean and neat and located in old town Torrance. You will always find parking near this area. They have about 10 haircut stations in the shop but the two times I been here usually only about 4 stations are staffed. They have been at this location for about 3 years. I heard that before it used to be a beauty salon. You can get a haircut and then walk old town Torrance full of little shops.
