OK, I just copied and pasted my Muldoon Top Bop review, because the food is the same: Well, I called them out on the heat level of their "spicy" food, and man did they deliver. With the 1-10 heat rating added to menu items, I felt I had to try the 10, and boy oh boy, is it a legit 10. On the first bite I thought, "whoa, a little kick, but not too bad." By the end of the meal, my forehead was sweating, my nose was running, and I was only tasting heat. Well done, Top Bop! read more

We were wanting to order lunch at work the other day and wanted to try something new so Top Bop came to mind. We had a coupon from the val-pak coupon book so we picked our items and called in our order. When they picked up I was informed that they ONLY take to go orders on line so she couldn't take my order. I explained I had a coupon and wanted to use it, she stated since they were not very busy they would make an exception but not to get used to calling in an order. It was nice of her to make an exception but what about the people that like to order from a person not online? I guess we are out of luck. As for the food it was fresh and hot when we received it...unfortunately the heat from the rice COOKED our poke bowl. I was not expecting the cold poke to be packaged and sealed in with the steaming hot rice. So three stars because I found the experience just so-so. I would for sure try them again though. read more

They have cockroaches! I repeat they have cockroaches one literally crawled out and down the wall directly in front of us while we were waiting for our order. This is not a joke this is not funny do not eat here. And apparently the whole strip has it the lady was saying that one of the other restaurants was having issues with them as well. Found this gem while washing clothes at the laundromat. I was in love at first site of the picture of the food online. I gathered a few friends and we made our way there. It's a small unassuming place in a shopping strip with other Asian places to eat. There was a line so it looked promising already. I got the Beef Bowl with an egg and a seaweed salad on the side. First few bites I thought it was pretty good. But the more I ate the more I liked it! I was so excited I forgot to take a picture of the food before so I took a picture of the aftermath. Great for quick but fresh rice bowl sort of thing. I went with the #2 on seasoning and was quite sweet - like sugar sweet. Interesting flavors with chicken rice and vegetables. I'd go for some spice next time, say a #3 to compliment the sweetness. Place is clean and good lighting, definitely going again. read more

The menu keeps changing. It's frustrating and exhausting to find your favorite dishes keep changing or removed. The menu used to have fun and exciting items but now it's just beef, fish, chicken, or noodle bop. Menu consolidation has forced my beloved Bibim Bop off the menu and to become just a "beef bop" at no reduction in price. Customers will have to pay extra for the items to make it the staple "Bibim Bop". Overall atmosphere is fun and lively. The employees are enthusiastic and cheerful. They'd be great if I only went to a restaurant for the employee interaction. read more

I've only ever ordered over the phone and if you all know, it's not easy requesting detailed changes to your order so I have to say thank you to our cashier who was polite in understanding​ our requests. Top Bop is an amazing restaurant with probably the best employees in Anchorage. The food is phenomenal and the store itself is so tidy and welcoming. It's a must if you're in Anchorage. You won't regret it. I'm a Top Bop fanatic. I've been enjoying their food for at least 7 months now and never have I received a bad experience. I frequent the Midtown location so often that I'm now on a first name basis with every employee there (it's so bad, I know) but that's how much I love this place. I've also tried everything on the menu (besides the poke, not a fan of raw fish) and I have to say my favorite is #3 with sauce level 3 or #9 with chicken sauce level 3. The manager and nice ladies in front talked me into trying the Ahi poke yesterday and boy let me tell you... it changed the way I feel about eating raw seafood. It was amazing. I love Top Bop. I went here for lunch on a Wednesday and it was really good. If you check-in at this location, you get $1 off your order. I preferred the miso soup and Bibim bop. The miso was a little salty, but I was my main course was . First review I wrote disappeared. I would recommend this restaurant. I ordered the number 9, ahi pokè bowl. My wife ordered the number 7 a seafood bowl of some type. It had scallops shrimp and crab meat. I paid$2.99 extra for a larger bowl. My tuna was marinated well. It was also pretty fresh. I wish there was more tuna to rice ratio. Not a deal breaker though. My wife said she wishes hers had more rice less meat. My only complaint was not with top bop crew. Instead with the customer that felt it was appropriate to talk at high volume on his phone about having threesomes and sex with other people while his girlfriend day across the table from him. Very inappropriate. My daughter, wife, and I didn't need to hear that. read more

I was sooo excited to try this! Seemed clean and nice service.. Got the dynamite and bulgolbi bop.. was ready within like less than two mins... tells me everything is pre cooked. I understand if it's busy and a large turn over but We were the only ones in their lunch time during the week.. got two orders one large one small and two drinks and paid over $26! The dynamite was very fishy.. I know with shrimp, crab and scallop there would be a fish taste but it was too fishy.. my hub got the bulgolbi and it was very dry.. tasted like dry hamburger meat. They gave us a full refund but one of the girls in the front wasn't too nice about it the cook came from the back and was very nice and apologetic.. Simply Not good. The noddle bowl I ordered came with half bowl of rice and half bowl of noodle, sprinkled with a little thin-cut beef and lettuce. The sauce on the top is the only thing makes it taste like Korean food. I only finished half of it and completely lost appetite.
