Recently moved back home after college and Top Care Nails is still my favorite spot to go to! Why? Because it's near me and I don't have to drive too far :) The service is also excellent- the ladies who worked here are really sweet and really takes the time to work on your mani/pedi. For my gel mani's go-to..I always ask for Rocky now because he's quick and made sure my nails doesn't have gel on before going in the LED light (or else it will burn) My pedi lady will be Lee as she really takes her time on her work. Second time I have made an appt with this nail place. I came in with an appt for two full sets at 12pm, we had to wait for someone to be ready for us (seems reasonable) They all seemed rushed to get their Customer out and not loose out on money... I was next & picked my color & told the guy (older wears glasses, maybe the owner) I wanted coffin shape . I showed him a picture and he nodded. When he began to shape the nail I knew it was going downhill but I still had hope with the acrylic to fix the shape at the end. I was wrong, I asked him if he could add acrylic to make my thumb nail a little longer since my other hand was somewhat longer his response was "no, I can file down the longer one and make it shorter"... I liked the shape of the longer thumb... I was quiet and thought to my self "like really you can't just add a little more acrylic and give your customer what she wants ??" NEVER AGAIN WILL I GIVE IT ANOTHER TRY . Not worth the high prices . read more

They do a great job and haven't raised their prices in forever. a $10.00 MANICURE? I won't do my own nails for that! Worst experience ever. Staff was angry, rude, and rough on my feet. The lady doing my nails was screaming while doing my nails at her colleague, and despite me asking her to please be more gentle with the tools, she just became angrier. I am new to Pleasanton and have been going to this salon for a few months, every time I wait for about 30-45 minutes. When I do receive services, the ladies often stop working to attend to other customers which I find extremely rude. Today I, against my better judgment, decided to get waxed. The woman who was waxing me did not know what she was doing...there was wax all over my face. Also, someone came into the room while I was being waxed and when she exited, she left the door open for other customers to view what was happening in the room. I was completely horrified! I was not happy with the gel manicure I received, way too short the and nails are all shaped differently. Also, be ware...no tools ever come out of packages. I'm not so sure how clean this facility is. When I asked about this, there seemed to be something lost in translation and no one could answer my questions directly. I will never return. read more

I've been going to this nail salon (amongst others) for nearly 15 years. It is convenient for me because I work nearby, and over the years I have referred many other customers here. My experiences in 2013 though, have been poor: 1. Worst looking manicure I've ever had. This service was provided by a new employee I'd never seen before (early 2013), so I didn't allow it to affect my decision to return. 2. A recent pedicure in which my cuticule was trimmed WAY too short. I had a wound on my foot that took 2 weeks to heal and limited my ability to wear certain shoes. Since I am a runner and on my feet all day at work, it felt very uncomfortable. 3. I had a pedicure service during which I was informed that the lady was "too busy to give you any foot massage today". Since leg/foot massage is a standard part of a pedicure, she shouldn't have accepted me as a client that day, if she was too busy to perform the full service for me. Even after having these experiences, I was pushed for time last week and the convenience of the nail salon's location prompted me to give them one more chance. I was tired and trying to relax (quietly) in the massage chair, but the woman kept on trying to talk to me. Unfortunately, it wasn't very relaxing anyway because she was rough and hurt me as she was pushing back my cuticles. She is the same woman who cut and injured my cuticle last month, so I became nervous that I might get cut again. Luckily, I didn't. She was nearly done with the trim, filing, etc. when she informed me that I had some skin on my toe that needed to be removed. "Fine", I said. "Three dollars extra", she said. "Leave it alone then, please", I said. Considering that I keep a pumice stone in my shower and I get a pedicure every 1-2 weeks, I knew for a fact that I did not have a callus on my toe. She was trying to charge me an extra fee just for buffing loose skin. I came home lastnight and buffed it off myself in about 30 seconds, but the fact that I had to finish my own pedicure or pay an extra $3 for a service that has always been part of my pedicure before (for the last 15 years here, and at every other nail salon I have ever gone to) - this has earned them a review. They have new chairs and have done some remodelling, so the salon looks nice and is modern now. They also rush through clients faster, paying less attention to detail than before. I like some of the ladies who work there, but I don't plan to go back or refer clients to them again because my recent experiences have been unacceptable. I hate to do this to a local business, but I would advise you stay far away from this place. I used to frequent this salon to have my eyebrows waxed, but I ended up being burned by wax on my brow bone and eyelid many times. I also know a woman who was waxed here was severely burned and ended up visiting the hospital for treatment. The low prices might be alluring, but they're not worth your health and well-being. As for the nail services, I don't think it's a confidence that two friends of mine got fungal infections after getting pedicures here. I went here due to the fact that my friend asked me to meet her. My usual spot is Stoneridge Nails and I absolutely love them! This place not so much! When I arrived No one greeted me and asked what I wanted like at other places. I had no idea who to tell that I wanted a shellac manicure. Finally my friend told the person who was doing her nails what I wanted. Then 15 minutes later a lady asked me what I wanted again and I told her shellac manicure. I showed her a picture from Pinterest of what I wanted and picked my colors. She proceeded to take off my previous nail polish and as she was doing that she filed my nails, which I was very confused by because she didn't do things in order. Then when she finished she told me to go wash my hands. I looked at my friend and said "uh.... is she gonna leave them like this" they were completely cooked and not shaped at all!! Then I went and sat down, and she started to paint my nails so I said "um. Can you make them square please?" And she looked at my confused. So she proceeded to try and make them square, and then started to paint them. She messed up my middle finger a countless amount of times and had to take it off, and repaint many times. In the end I was not thrilled because 1) she painted on my skin and 2) it took 1.5 hr. also they turned out crooked. So that was my first and last time attending that nail salon! read more

WOW .. i just found out about YELP and i really love this site. So i decided to yelp places that i love. Anyways, I have been a familiar customer at TOP CARE NAILS for awhile now. The customer service is great, although the workers there can't really speak English but i surely love how they always have a smile on their face and greet every person that enters and exit the store. OH! extra plus is that it's super clean which makes me feel comfortable every time i'm there. Every time i leave with my french manicure and pedicure done, i was always satisfied with the outcome. Usually, after a few days the paint would chip off but with the professional job they did on my nails, it stayed on for at least 2 weeks. ALSO! the prices were decent! I have been coming to this nail salon with my mom and sister for as long as I can remember. I live a street away from this place and my mother and the ladies have became quite friendly. For the past few times I've gone I have been so unsatisfied with their work. They will start on you and then move to another customer and keep you waiting. I literally just went there and they sat me immediately, yet proceeded to keep me in a chair for 20 minutes without warm water or anything on my feet. I finally had enough because of how offended I was because everyone in there had an employee working on them and no one even said anything to me besides where to sat. I got up and tried to leave and multiple employees tried to hand me a book(literally like a novel) to read??? What the hell I would've gone to the other side of town if I knew I had to be serviced like this. Many ladies were saying "hey hey wait we will do now for you" only because I wanted to leave. One lady even grabbed hold the back of my shirt and tried to tell me they would service me now and tried to lead me back to the chair. Um no thank you.
