I came here before with my mom, so I went back because it was the only place I really new of. One of my nails weren't long enough so I had to pay an extra $5 for one acrylic nail. I never had to do that before, I really didn't want to but had no choice. The girl who did it knicked me in my cuticle and it started to bleed, but she just continued doing my nails. I was satisfied how is came out, it looked how I wanted it to. I just got gel and one piece of a gold metal circle on each nail. It came out to almost $70 without tip, not to mention I was there for about two hours. I was appalled that they charged this much. My nails literally only lasted for about three days before the top coat started to peel off then the gel started to come off. I love Ana, she's the only one I let do my eyebrows. My eyebrows are hard to do for some reason. Not only does she get it perfect everytime, she only takes 10 minutes tops!! Even with a lip wax. I've come here twice (tried 3 times but they were too busy) in the past few months and they're hands down the best pedicures I've ever had. My nails look perfect. Everyone is really friendly, welcoming, professional. The space is lovely and not tacky, with a nice big screen TV to watch. They have a great selection of colors that are always fresh, not all sticky and half gone, and well organized by shades. I have been a customer here for more than eight years and always have Ana do my nails because she had always seemed to be the best. A few times I went to the other girls and although they were clearly not as skilled, they took their time and did an overall good job. This past year I started going to Salon Cherie in Waikiki because I had seen their pictures on Facebook. But, I recently received a gift certificate at Top Nails for my birthday and decided I should use it before I lose it. As always, I made an appointment with Ana and arrived on time. For once, Ana was not occupied by a customer and was able to start working on my nails as soon as I got there. About half an hour into my appointment, a woman walked in and Ana told her she'll be with her in "just a moment." Seeing that she has frequently stepped out in the middle of my manicure to do waxing in the past, I didn't think much of it. But I noticed that she began to work on my nails a little quicker. While applying the glitter powder to my nails, she asked what kind of design I wanted. As always, I asked her if she had anything new. She responded by telling me she was going to put a pearl in a gold ring and that other customers really liked it. But, my question is, who says that I like the same as other customers? And why am I not given an option of other ideas? I probably wouldn't have been so upset if I wasn't a previous customer at Top Nails because I KNOW they have photo albums with pictures, magazines, etc that are full with various ideas and designs. But, my conclusion was that she had scheduled an appointment, only HALF AN HOUR after mine and was trying to hurry me out of there. God forbid if I take 5 minutes choosing a design I actually like. I ended up letting her do whatever she wanted and got out of there as fast as I could. The "rings" she put on my nails were not even fully closed around the pearl and in my opinion, it was sloppy. If I didn't have a gift certificate and was told I had to pay $65 for my full set, I would have put up a fight about it (keep in mind that I usually pay about $100/manicure at Salon Cherie, so $$ isn't my issue.) I had a balance on my gift certificate and knowing I will NEVER go back there again, I gave it to one of my friends who goes there all the time (she doesn't go to Ana, so she probably doesn't have the same issue.) read more

Wow... Top nails is the best place I've ever known so far ^^ I've have my nails done there for 4 years already. I tried some places but I still go back with them. I love that place because I can have nails done, waxing, permanent make up, all in one place. There are some reasons I love topnails. First, the workers there are friendly; they always ask what you want to do to make sure you feel pleasure with it, eventhough they can't speak english really well but they always try their best, take time and be patient, they are really fun. Secondly, they do a beautiful job with med/ped and especially acrylic and gel nails, also they have a whole bunch of pretty designs with differnt styles and good price. I once saw a lady brought a pretty dress and wanted to have the relevant design. I watched Ana ( the onwer) did her nails from the beginning 'til the end, and all I could say was she did a great job and a great design which had 3D flowers and the rhinestones, it was gorgerous and fancy. She told me that I could bring any design I wanted and she would love to do it. Thridly, the price is awesome. Also they offer you many other options. I had my eyeliner done there and up to now I am satisfied with it and I love it really much. I'm about having my eyebrown permanent done there too. ^^ read more

So I previously wrote a satisfactory review for this place but have since changed my outlook on this place. I've been going here for awhile now and made it my go-to place for pedis but will never go there again. Went in today for a pedi and the lady doing it went a little nuts cutting my cuticles and snipped a whole chunk off. It started bleeding profusely and she kept pouring some clear substance on it to try and make it stop instead of just applying pressure like youre supposed to. Then some other lady came and dumped some sticky brownish liquid on it. It still continued to bleed and they kept dumping that clear liquid on it and some bacitracin ointment. I started to get worried because I had no idea what kinds of things they were putting on my cut. It never really stopped bleeding and it sorta got on the polish in the end. The lady was apologetic which was fine but she forgot to ask if i wanted any rhinestones and shooed me out of the seat to the dryers. When I had to pay they charged me full price. I spoke to the manager about the situation and that I shouldnt have to pay full price because i got snipped. She gave me an annoyed look and asked me how much i think i should have to pay. That pissed me off because she didnt even apologize or offer me some kind of discount. To me, this is bad business practice. If someone had acknowledged the situation and offered some sort of discount I wouldve been fine because accidents happen. Since no one seemed to care about my business I'm taking it elsewhere. There are tons of other nail places on this island that will take better care of you. read more

I had a gel manicure, I rarely get my nails done (about once every 4 months). One gel peeled off of my nail after 2 days. I sat in waiting are for a seat for about 25 minutes before someone could get to me. They did apologize for the wait. I know they cannot help that, but as far as my nails they can. I have 3 other nails that are in processing falling off and it has not even been one week. Nice and friendly staff, but won't come here again. read more

If I could have posted a review and not put any stars I would have. My daughter and I flew in to Honolulu because she was getting married there. Not knowing where to go to get our nails done, we asked around. Top Nail was recommended. My daughter and I both decided to get gel manicures and a pedicure. Her gel nails started to peel even before her nails were dry. We complained and they agreed to redo them. The second time was a little better but still terrible considering this was her wedding day and the photographer would be taking pictures of the wedding couples hands. My gel nails and pedicure were sloppily done. The nail polish was not applied down to the cuticle so it looked liked my manicure had grown out. To top it off, management did not seem to care. Do yourself a favor and give your business to a company that cares about the quality of their work and who knows what good customer service is. read more

I am going to start off by saying that the quality and outcome of the nails isn't bad. But the costumer service and false advertising really upset me. I went in for acrylic extensions with plain nail polish which was priced for $30. The beginning was decent. I went to the back chose my color which was a light blue and was immediately seated. The lady wasn't rude but she was never the one to start a conversation. But I didn't mind. As she was going along, she was doing all kinds of things to my nails which was apparently a procedure for gel nails. But she knew I didn't know that because I have never gotten gel or acrylic nails. Without knowing, she switched out my nail color with a light teal shade and started painting. When I asked her why the color is different, she said that its the same color. Denying everything. When it came to checking out, she charged me $50. When I asked why, she said that it was the cost of the set and it's simply "better anyways". I would have paid that much any other place but it just wasn't what I signed up for. I know what i asked for and I didn't get what I asked for. A possibly fun nail trip turned into feeling like I got ripped off. Been a customer for more than twnety years (when she was on Keeaumoku). I will only have Ana do my nails, she is always booked in advance, so better to call in advance. She is fast and an "artist" when it comes to drawing on your nails. Sometimes they run late, but they are getting better. I used to have to wait an hour or more (with appointment!) but now, I even get in on time. Ana has good memory of what you want. I hear Lynn and Sophia are good too. read more

I have been going Top Nails for a few years and the servie varies everytime ive been there. sometimes i have to wait 20min or longer to be helped, a few times i walk in and no one acknowlged i walked in till 5-10 min of standing there. they are good doing full sets,manis & pedis but the waiting is long they OVER book themselves that walk in people have to wait a long time before being seen, they say walks in welcome but if theyre busy be prepared to wait a long time. they also do waxing that i always go there for besides my nails, they are okay but a few times i told the lady dont make them thin she makes them thin and a few times they werent even, they also apply the wax hot i came out looking like a lobster a few times, and she didnt even realize it or check the wax. A few times i went there they told me they were booked and couldnt be seen, or had to wait a few hours before they had an opening BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. this is a good place but their customer service is not so great. a few times the workers were just eating in front of the customers and watching tv. you should always make an appointment before you go to this place, but thats not garented youll be seen right away either. read more

I've been getting my pedis from here for years. I used to go to Smileys but it was always crowded over there. I like it at Top Nails bc it has a nice environment, the same workers (not too much turnaround), they recognize me when I come in (sorta like Cheers but without the "Hey, Stacy!" shoutout) and they do a great job for a reasonable price. I just walk-in when I'm in the area and want to get something done. Normally, I go for pedicures but recently started going for manis also. I don't have acrylic nails....have manis on my real nails. For the price, it's great. I bring in my own nailpolish from bottom to top but they have a wall full of color choices for those who want to choose theirs. And, while they don't hold long convos with you, that's fine with me bc I just want to unwind and relax. They do have the spa chairs, a big flat screen tv, lots of magazines, and they give good leg/arm massages. Huge parking lot so EZ PZ to go there. read more

The worst experience at a Nail Salon .. Made an appointment ..arrived on time to learn the person I had for my appointment was detained .. 15 mi .. I said 'no problem' ... Waited 25 minutes ... Was told she was on 'the way'...waited !!! Then I said, 'Can someone else give me a pedicure '?? There did not appear to be anyone in charge ... Finally some one said I would be next ... What a disaster. I have been going to top nails every month for six months.I usually have Jackie but today she was busy so I got another girl no name cause she didn't give one . I go to relax and trust the nail tech. A simple pedicure gone bad .she cut one of my big toes so short it hurt!! She polished them like a kid would. I was done before lady's who were there before me.they offered to give me a fake toe nail what the hay!!!! What's going on with nail shops ! I had to go to another shop get them repainted not much they could do since she screwed up my big toe!!! Be careful of this nail salon !!
