One day I walked out to the side of my house to find my lime tree so overgrown and heavy that it was blocking my shed and back gate. I needed to get a couple of large trees cut down and stumps ground. I was concerned that they could potentially fall on the house. I call a few tree services that I found on the internet. I wasn't comfortable with their answers to my questions regarding the equipment that they had available to them, and if they were licensed and insured. I found Top unit tree service online, and gave them a call. I spoke with George Poe one of the owners. He came to the house within a couple of hours after I had spoken with him to look at the project and issue me a quote. I was very concerned about safety and damage to my property because of the size of the trees. He evaluated the project, he look at where the utilities were coming into the house so there wouldn't be damage to the electrical, water lines and gas lines . He also assured me that they were licensed & insured, trained, and had the equipment to handle any job. So we agreed on a price and he and his crew show up early the next morning ahead of schedule to start on the project. He estimated two days and they finished it in one. George and his crew did a great job ! They cut the trees, ground the stumps, cleaned up and removed all debris. George was very knowledgeable, professional, and informative. Unfortunately they were a little careless when grinding the stump and severed two sprinkler lines. When informed, they responded but offered to do nothing. The actual trimming of the trees were good. They matched our price and we're very friendly and did a good job trimming. It took them 2 days for 2 large avocado trees, a large bush with thorns, and a very large pine tree. But then it all went downhill. We also paid to have 1 sprinkler fixed. They finished on Wed and said they would be back on Fri for the sprinkler. They never contacted/called me so when I asked on Fri they said Sat. It went on and on like this for probably two weeks- where they kept saying they would come and didn't. The super frustrating part is seeing the the texts were "read" but no response. They never contacted me, I always had to be the one asking. Finally I had to ask for them to Venmo me my money back. The other SUPER frustrating part is they cut a phone cord to my neighbor's house when trimming the bush and no one said A WORD about it until we discovered it. We tried to get it fixed for him and never could because it wasn't our line and we couldn't find the provider. This was either Nov or Dec and the line is STILL down. They also damaged some our plants in front of the house and on our back wall (breaking off and killing parts of them). I really wanted to like this company, but I will not be using them in the future, which is a real bummer. read more
