The guy at the stand said I was good. So waited the 2 and half to 3 hours n wen My friend went to see how much long it was gonna b at 11hw said my name wasn't on the wait list! Are u kidding me? Topgolf can be fun, there's no doubt about that. I went there last night with some of my friends. I heard you had to go online to reserve a bay. I did so and upon my arrival, we did not get placed for over 25 minutes!! What's the point of a reservation? I later found out that they allow 2 reservations per half hour, but last night, there was an error and 3 were booked at the same time. Not only that, but when we got placed, they stuck us in a corner filled with clubs from a lesson. Take it for what you want, but it was not a pleasant return to Topgolf Wood Dale. read more

im not a golfer and i love this place. It is a bit pricey but i think it's well worth it. If ya'll have jobs then you should be fine. We were told we'd have at least a 45 min wait, so we headed up to the bar and got a few beers and played bags. After 15 minutes i got a text telling me that our bay was ready! They offer free club rentals (thanks!) and a nice employee showed us to our bay and told us the basics and showed us where to get our balls! Now that's customer service! Our waitress was nice and the guys in the bay next to us were even nicer (free beer!) I saw that they have unlimited golf during the week and weekends during certain times and they have an awesome lunch special! I'm definitely going to be back and i'm gonna learn how to not feel awkward swinging a golf club! This is the worst customer service ever. The waitress was over whelmed with the party. The manger stepped in to help out and she was very rude. Her staff put in the wrong order then expected to me to pay for someone else's bill. I will be contacting the general manager!!! Never will I go again. The max amount of people (6) were at each bay. And even leaving this review the Manager was confrontational. Instead of apologizing for the severe mistake she proceeded to inform us that it wasn't her fault that we didn't receive the correct bill! I generally do not review places that are not restaurants or eatery, but since I come here pretty often in the last couple months I decided to write a review. I really enjoy coming here.. definitely come in the morning. They open at 9am. They get busy on weekday evenings and on the weekends. I first tried this place out back in August when my team from around the world were visiting. I set up a day event at Top Golf working with Valerie and she was very easy to work with. She got us what we needed, the food set up, and cards to play. We received really good service, just a bit sad that we didn't get to pack the leftovers home.. we had so much leftovers. It was because of food sanitation and they don't allow us to take it home (even we paid for all of it) if it's sitting out for over an hour. Oh well. It was really fun playing Top Golf. There were 7 of us and we each played 4 rounds! I brought my husband here few weeks after for his birthday and he enjoyed it. He likes driving the golf balls to specific targets and see the score automatically populate on the screen. It is good to practice your shots and aims. Definitely not a golf course and not real-life golf. We came back two weeks ago and we had fun as well. He will be going back tomorrow with his co-workers. I think he's trying to get as much time in at Top Golf before it gets cold. We love being on the 2nd floor..we should try 3rd floor one day. Definitely a good time every time we go! read more

If you don't pay the 25 bucks for a reservation, they won't seat you for at least two hours, even if there are open bays. Bar looks terrible, side games are run down, and the "mini golf" course seems just like a way to steal 6 bucks from people who didn't want to pay for the reservation. Do they even want your business? I love this place! Great for a night out with friends. We've been here a few times and will be returning on a regular basis. So much better than your typical driving range considering that the balls have microchips in them and when they are hit into one of the many targets it not only tells you your distance stats but turns it in to a fun game where you rack up points against your friends. Waiter service at your tee box, heat lamps in your tee box for early or late season play and a 3 tier deck. It doesn't get much better than this. read more

THE BALLS NEED TO BE REPLACED!!! I love Top Golf, and have been going there since it opened. The entire concept is awesome. I can't give it four/five stars, however, because of the condition of their golf balls. Half of the balls' dimples are worn off, which causes shots to look like knuckle balls, and a quarter of the balls are cracked. It's pretty disappointing to be in the middle of a game, and have a well-struck shot make an s-turn, then nose dive into the wrong target. Top Golf is packed every time I'm there, so I have to believe they're doing well enough to be able to afford new equipment. read more

I would give Top Golf 3.5 stars. It's more geared towards a recreational, Dave & Buster's crowd, versus golfers looking to work on their game. Exhibit A -- the MUSIC. I went on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving w/ a friend, both of us looking to work on our golf game. We got there at noon, and there were maybe 3 or 4 small groups there at the time. The music there was pretty much BLASTING, and they have individual speakers in EVERY hitting bay. If you're trying to work on your game, it doesn't exactly help to have a big speaker 10 feet from your head, blasting One Direction. We even asked if they could turn it down, but they said that's the volume people like. It also seemed like the sensors didn't always catch golf shots. Most of the time, yes, but there were shots that we swore went directly into the nets, but it didn't register a score. Not a huge deal, but might be time to do an overhaul/repair on some of the sensor systems. ALL THAT SAID, we did stay there for 4 hours, and had a fun time. The food is very good, the service was excellent, and it is better than just a standard driving range. You can work on your accuracy there. So good place to go to, just don't expect a fully golf-focused experience. read more

Had a great time here today! We had 2 groups, so I asked Brandon if we could get two bays together and we were put in the Academy (since there were no lessons scheduled) and boy did it feel like first class! There's 2 huge bays, each with a large leather sofa, 2 chairs and cocktail table, and plenty of space to move around. The ceiling heaters keep the space very comfortable, and there was no breeze blowing into the room! Heather was our server and she was wonderful, checking on us and even helping with the computer when we messed up. Had their flatbread with goat cheese, onion, spinach and roasted garlic, drizzled with balsamic, and it was done just right! Everyone had a great time and can't wait to go back. read more

Next time I'll try Naperville. Top Golf is great but this location is one of the oldest. A bit run down and they operate differently than other locations in that they charge per game not per hour. They don't accept your player card from another Top Golf so you have to pay the $5.00 guest charge over (they do give you 2 free games). They then suggest that you buy a $35 lifetime membership card but don't tell you unless asked, that it's no good at any other Top Golf location. Food was good but wait staff very slow. At least 4 different servers came and went and out of 3 drinks I ordered 1 came correctly, 1 came wrong and one never came at all. Probably will not return to this Top Golf location. read more

This is there employee I'm meeting with so I'm being watched the hole time if i stayed by the instructor that is a great guy. (Wooddale, IL) This is a driving range, yet the Tees are very short and not the right height for a driver. I tried asking for a taller tee, but it was unavailable. At best, this place is for irons and destroying rental drivers. DON'T USE YOUR OWN DRIVERS. YOU MAY DENT THEM WITH THE SHORT TEES. Irons/hybrids/wedges are fine. Don't bother bringing your driver at topgolf. The golf balls are expensive enough compared to other driving ranges. The way the game plays hasn't changed at all. I first went here in 2013, yet other locations(Naperville) system is 500% better than the Wooddale location. Our wait time: 2 hours Be aware of long wait times. Food, on the other hand, is real good. Give the fried chicken sandwich a try. If you're going here to see how far you can hit, this is not the place. It's a casual hangout spot for family and friends. read more

We had a corporate event here, and everyone was at a different level of skill. I found it most entertaining that the inexperienced golfers beat the "real" golfers. We also purchased a buffet of food for our party. It was plentiful and everyone was happy. At the end of the event, each person was given a gift certificate to come back. A competitive driving range with a bar - what more could you want? This little gem has a surprisingly tasty and inventive menu for what becomes an enjoyably competitive time to hit golf balls with your friends/family. I also enjoyed the array of tasty brews available! I fully expected a typical selection of plain Miller or Bud but there were some delicious microbrews available (8-bit, Daisy Cutter, etc). My only issue is how confusingly expensive this place is. Good luck easily understanding the pricing structure and what you should or shouldn't do. And if you want to buy more games you can't do it from your booth or with your server...you have to go back down to the main area and recharge your card. Confusion aside - it's a great place to go whether you're an avid golfer or someone who likes to swing a club and eat snacks. read more

At first this place seemed legit, a few hundred dollars later the novelty fades of and at a quick clip! 1.) It's expensive (drinks, range balls) 2.) The RFID system has major issues (I'd say 15-20% of the balls don't register when you hit the targets, and yes I did pass the ball through the activation zone. 3.) The craft beer seems to be diminishing... 4.) In the winter the heaters come on but it's still DAMN COLD! even on level 1 close to the middle where it's sheltered the most so I could not even begin to imagine how the other levels would fair... read more

At first glance you look at TopGolf and think, "what a dumb idea, hit 20 golf balls into a target on a range for 6 bucks? I could get a whole bushel of balls for $6 at the range!" well, that you could, but it definitely wouldn't be as fun as it would be at TopGolf. The fun of it all is that you get to compete with friends on a variety of different range games while being able to eat and drink. You don't even have to be a good golfer to play. They let you rent clubs if you don't have them and even my wife, who had never picked up a golf club before had a lot of fun here. The food is "meh" and they actually just recently changed the menu which I'm not a huge fan of, but the pizza was pretty decent and I actually love the mini italian beef. They have a full bar and usually some sort of beer special. The servers are generally walking around and usually on top of getting things for you. The place has 3 floors, I highly recommend trying to get a spot on the 2nd floor in the middle of the range, or if not, the 3rd floor is nice too, you can see the range nicely from the higher levels. Also, TG runs a lot of specials from time to time, so try and hop on one of these to pay less for a game of topgolf. For the last two years, TG has run specials in groupon so I don't think I've ever had to pay full price for a game yet and I do go there a lot! So if you are looking to work on your golf game, go to a driving range. if you're looking to have a good time and not need to worry about how bad your game is, go to TopGolf. Way more exciting than a standard driving range. There are fun games to play that test your ability to hit different shots or you can just practice hitting. I would recommend going earlier in the day; before 1:00 on weekends or 3:00 on weekdays and doing the unlimited games package otherwise it could get a little pricey to pay for individual games later in the day. We ordered a couple flatbread pizzas which were yummy and had drinks and the service was good. It would have been nice if they could have spent a little time explaining how to get the balls and get the games started for first timers especially since they weren't busy but that's really my only complaint. Great place to go grab some drinks and hit a few balls. Top Golf uses RFID tagged golf balls to keep track of your ball as it soars through the sky and lands in different targets placed on the range. You can play different games against your friends or just try to beat your high score, but either way it adds a level of fun to the driving range that never existed before. There are plenty of "bays" throughout the 3 levels at the range so there's hardly ever a really long wait to get in. It appears as though they've added some private/VIP areas to either side of the lower level and the top level, while I haven't gotten to experience these yet, they look cool. The only downside to Top Golf is that a bucket of balls is a little on the expensive side. It's nothing that is going to break the bank, but in comparison to normal driving ranges, it's more. This is to be expected though because of what you're getting with that bucket of balls, meaning these computer systems to track everything aren't free. The food is also really good here. You can eat at your bay or you can go into the bar/restaurant area and eat there, but either way you get the same quality of food and it's delicious. Top Golf is a great place to get away from the wife and kids for a couple hours to enjoy some nice drinks and some golf. read more

My wife planned my birthday here with a few friends, which we arrived early (~11am) to beat the rush. We had never been to TG before, so we didn't know what to expect or even how the games worked. The staff was very accommodating in getting us set up and provided outstanding service for the 4 hours we were there. TG also has a great selection of food and beverage, which we shared the nachos, wings, and pizza. To avoid the long wait times, arrive before 12pm or else you might be waiting a few hours for a bay. Time definitely goes by fast when playing and depending on the number of friends you can spend 3 or more hours here. We used the rental clubs, which the irons are similar to Callaway X18 with graphite shaft, but if you're pretty serious into golf it's not much hassle to bring your own clubs. Top Golf is tops. The concept of bowling (waiting your turn), darts(game format for scoring points) and golf (well, swinging a club at a little white ball) wrapped up into one game is fantastic. Each ball is tagged to you and the only annoying part is that you have to put the ball through a little hole for it to register to the game, but once you are use to it, it's no biggie. I ordered a $6 burger which was on special and it was served on a pretzel roll and actually quite good. The beers are brought out to you and best of all you can smoke while enjoying your beer. For that fact alone, this place would be awesome in my book. If you are playing some games make sure that you are playing with people at your level of golf (at least short game wise) because it can get competitive. there are heated lamps out there so for those chilly nights you can still feel comfortable. If you are interested in game improvement, I can definitely see this place being a great benefit to providing better accuracy for shots within 200 yds - 50 yds. It's far different than a typical driving range because you are not just swinging at golf balls, instead your aiming at targets. But like anything else you need to put in the time and effort. Still confused about the membership card...wondering what benefits there are to getting a yearly ($69.95, i believe) instead of getting a 30 day card ($3.50 ). TopGolf is a great place to have a little competitive fun with your friends and/or family. The lay out is like a regular driving range. 3 stories tall with individual tee-ing areas. But the actual range is completely different. There are different targets on the field and each target accounts for a different amount of points. And since each ball has its own tracker inside, the computer will register and keep track of the amount of points you get... that is if you hit the target. Sometimes it can get annoying since you are dealing with a computer. There are times when you clearly see the ball falling/rolling into a target and not registering the point. You can manually change the score but that's not fun. The drinks and food here are kind of pricy. But the food portions are big and most importantly its good. I highly recommend the turkey avocado wrap with curly fries. TopGolf is a lot of fun but a bit more expensive than a regular range. But most of the times... fun isn't cheap :) Come here and hit some golf balls while kicking back with some drinks with your friends/family. Enjoy! read more

I LOVE this place and have been going here for at least 3 years now. My friend went on a date here once and LOVED it and then got all of our friends to start going there. It began to spiral on with everyone inviting their friends which i think all of us in the long term regretted because of how popular this place ALWAYS is. 3 years ago your wait time would be about an hour or so during high demand times but now it seems that almost every evening and all day on weekends the wait time is over 2 hours (unless you miraculously get lucky). That's the biggest downfall - i wish they would open another location - the demand is definitely there! This is a really fun place to go on a date, with kids, with co workers, with friends - just anybody. I haven't met a person that hasn't loved this place and became totally obsessed. You can drink at the bay and order food. I'll be honest that when i first went here the wood at that time was amazing! - i think they changed their menu 3 times since them and now it's not bad but it definitely was amazing 3 years ago! I wish they'd bring it back! Definitely recommend this place - besides the really long wait time.
