UPDATE: I tried this out again on a day there was a much, much shorter wait. The bad news is it totally sucked. The good news is it has become a funny new inside joke with me and my friends. They can't make anything easy here. If you are thinking you can show up and have some nachos, drinks, and play the game and depend on the Topgolf system/staff/plan to help make this happen or offer some instruction on how to do this yourself, nope. When we got got there, we waited on the second floor bar where we actually got really good service. We enjoyed our drinks, nachos, and whatever until our buzzer went off for us to get our bay. Someone walks us to Bay 3 and that was kind of it. We wasted a lot of time trying to figure out how to get he game going. As it turns out, you have to go wait in a line to get a card, so that you can go wait in another line to get some balls out of a machine. We bring a basket of balls back to the bay and try to figure out how to get the game working. We never do. We flag down an employee who tells us that for the game to work we ALL need to go wait in line and get these cards and then ALL wait in line to get balls and only then can we come back and mess with the game monitor to maybe play an actual game. At this point, we've already been waiting a while to get our bay, longer to send someone to wait in line to get a card, longer to wait in line for balls, longer still to flag down an employee to tell us how to start a game. The momentum and excitement is gone and we're all kind of laughing at what a bust this was, roasting our friend that told us all night how fun this would be. We ended up never getting the game to work because the idea of everyone getting up to wait in another line was a huge eye roll. We had also drank up all the drinks we brought down from the upstairs bar and we're never approached by a server to re-order. A couple of us took the balls we had and started just throwing them as far as we could (We didn't bring clubs and no one ever directed us to where we could find some) and left when we got bored of that. So basically the whole thing was total shit. On the positive side, the whole experience was so ridiculous we are still laughing about it. We are currently threatening each other with birthdays at Top Golf, joking that the point of the game is to throw the balls at the staff to wake them up to do something, and directing each other to "just simply get in that line right over there" any time anyone has a question or wants another beer. One star for the great service in the second floor bar. Minus 4 for everything else. It was funny and all but we won't be back. I have heard from several people how much fun Top Golf is and I've been wanting to try it for a while. I was thinking of booking the place for a team outing for work but I wanted to try it out first instead of spending a bunch of company money on a place I'd never even tried. Unfortunately, when I arrived with a few friends, I was told that there was a two and a half hour wait, and they suggested we wait at the bar in the meantime. Although we had intended to make a night of it, waiting around for two and a half hours is asking too much. We just turned around and went back to the car. As much as I'd like to try this place out, I can't imagine under what circumstances I would be okay waiting for such a long time. They do take reservations for groups of 12 or more but there is no way I would plan a group trip to a place I've never been to. They should really come up with a way to accommodate smaller groups. read more

My group of friends and I made a reservation at top golf to play at 9:00p.m. We arrived at the location and began walking up to the entrance and there was a woman asking for our age. We answered that we were all 17 and the lady said we were unable to come inside because we had to be over the age of 21 to come in. My friends and I drove a half hour to this location to arrive and be turned down to enter. We then waited outside the location and the lady working there said we could not stand in the area and had to return to our cars. Very unsatisfied with this experience because we received no warning that we needed a guest to be over 21 when coming at 9 and the lady at the front was very rude to us. Many other teenagers arrived unaware of this age restriction and were not allowed to enter. In my humble opinion, the website needs to be more clear when offering reservations for minors, given the fact that there is a state law prohibiting such customers from entering. We were a private party of 12 in the Academy Room and it was ordered off the buffet menu so we were disappointed and wondered "Why are they taking our food and what are they doing with it?" Five stars for golf & games since it's a fun atmosphere. We had a party of two adults and three kids and had dinner at the restaurant which unfortunately ended up being a one star experience. The food took FOREVER to be served and the place was not even crowded. I'm not sure what happened but most of the food was not hot either. The food that was warm was very good and they have a pretty interesting menu to choose from. The positive is that the manager heard what happened and that we were dissatisfied. He came over to apologize and fully comp'ed our meal without our asking. That's classy and his response totally saved our opinion of the place and ensured a future return. I came into town with two coworkers on for work training and was close to top golf. Came in the first night and had the best service ever. David was our server and was truly amazing person to deal with. We came back the next three nights due to the great experience. Top Golf In Schaumburg IL, "Global pandemic" What do we think when we hear this phrase? We think about washing our hands, and practice social distancing from people that do NOT live in the same household that we do right? At least this is what we've been told by CDC (Center for Disease Control) are the guidelines we should follow to stay healthy. I understand that their are rules this establishment needs to follow to stay safe during this pandemic. For this exact reason my family and I complied with the rules of this establishment of a max of 6 people per bay, even though our family size is 7.... This doesn't mean I agree with their rules though, I feel if you can prove you live in the same household they could make certain exceptions for immediate family members only. That afternoon I was politely asked to go to the outdoor patio and couldn't see my 5 sons and my husband play. The service at the check-in area and downstairs bar was some of the worst I have experienced in a long time. Before we even could enter, there were like 10 people from Chrysler guarding the door to try and get us to sign up for something. Once inside, we were told hour and a half wait for a tee with a "don't worry, I'll get you taken care of bud" by the guy at the front podium. So we think, 'ok, we can go get some appetizers and drinks' and we head to the downstairs bar. TWENTY minutes goes by before we get a server. Our waitress had way too many tables and could have used more help. TWO HOURS later we go finally check in and the staff was rude, once again. We finally get upstairs to our tee and our server up there was WAY nicer and the food we ordered was decent. The problem is, there's nothing else like this place around so we will be back but the service while we waited was just terrible. I have been here numerous times and the service has always been pretty slow. Nothing compared to my most recent visit. I came here on a rainy Monday for lunch. Only two other tables were filled in the bar area. The waitress took my order, I ordered the spinach & goat cheese salad with chicken (which was so good it's the only reason I'm giving this two stars vs just one). I asked for the dressing on the side (I don't like too much dressing). After about twenty minutes I asked the waitress to check on my food as I only have a 45 minute lunch break). The waitress never came back with an answer for me. Another 15 minutes come by and my salad finally comes out. 35-40 minutes for a SALAD during lunch, that's a little ridiculous! Of course the salad has dressing on it. At this point I just eat it quickly because I don't have time. I hand over my credit card to the food runner because the waitress is nowhere to be found. She finally comes back and doesn't even give me a pen to sign my receipt. If I never had experience in the food industry I would of left the check unsigned and not tipped her. We took our 2 kids w. 2 of their friends on Saturday evening (5/9/15). We know that their can be a long wait at Top Golf, but we had afternoon commitments so didn't arrive until 6:30 PM. They don't take reservations, so we warned the kids that it could take awhile before they got to play golf. We checked-in and were told it would be a 2 hour wait. The kids opted to wait. They played miniature golf while my wife and I tried to finding seating in the restaurant. After an hour, we found seating for 6 and they joined us for dinner. We ordered appetizers and waited for the waitress to order dinner. The wait staff was extremely busy and there was no one seating people, so it is pretty chaotic with that number of people. When we finally ordered, the waitress apologized that the kitchen was slammed and dinner would take longer than usual. We had now commitment nearly 2 hours and had hungry kids, so again, we opted to wait. We were then notified that our golf wait would be extended another hour. The food was mediocre, prices above average, and the service was what you'd expect given they were so busy. It is nice to see that their business is thriving, but if they can't accommodate that many people, it would be nice if they were at least honest about it. After waiting 3 hours and not getting a slot, we decided it was too late for the kids to start golfing, so took them for ice cream, and then home. We will not be returning to Top Golf in Wood Dale. read more

So disappointing because we waited so long to golf and didn't even end up golfing! We arrived at 6:00pm on a Friday night and figured there would be a wait. We put in our name and they told us an hour and a half. It was 7:45pm and we still haven't heard anything so we asked the person at the front. They told us it would be longer but didn't know how long...It was 8:30pm at this point (2.5 hours later!!!) and we go up and ask again how much longer. They then tell us "oh, we closed the top level because it might rain!" so maybe half hour more. How ridiculous that they didn't let us know this..needless to say it never ended up raining and after 3 hours of waiting we left. In the wait time we sat at the bar and spent money on drinks (probably why they didn't want us leaving-so we could spend money at bar). We got one of the giant pitchers/fishbowls of this one mixed drink where they required us to show 3 ids for and it cost $25. Obviously expected it to be strong...me and my friend both drank it all and were barely buzzed. RIP OFF. Not giving this place another chance after that experience and it is unfortunate because I heard it could be a lot of fun! read more

Great customer service. The waitress Sue went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay. My buddy and I showed up on a Wednesday (which are apparently busy) we ended up having to wait 2 hours before we could play so we hung out at the bar . Sue tended to us. She must have been taking care of 10 + tables and it felt like she knew exactly when to come to the table. She knew we were waiting to play and in an effort to expedite the process she took our cards and I and our IDs and got our cards for us while we were waiting at the table. Needless to say we were well taken care . It definitely made the 2 hour wait worth it. Honestly I can't think of a better customer service. Thank you very Sue!!! read more

Unless you only want to hit irons off the mat there is no reason to use this driving range. If your bets don't keep the range balls off the road raise the nets. The tees are to small for a driver and to tall for irons. If you like to golf go to a real range. Top golf is out. read more

So first let me say that Top golf as a whole is awesome but my experience today has been far from being awesome. Today me and 6 other co-workers went to this top golf. This was for my goon away party since I'm in the marines and will be moving away and deploying. This being they're first time ever here and me being here once before and the one in Washington DC. We first showed up to a two hour wait, which is very normal and not bad at all. (Usually it's 4 hours). We ALL decided to spend some money at the bar on food and drinks. But after an hour and a half and hogging a table that the waitress could be using, to make more money, we decided that we would like to get some fresh air and walked outside. first: there was a party on the patio, but we stayed far far away (complete opposite side of the patio) to not disrespect anyone. Next, a worker at top golf walked outside and said that there was a party on he patio, we explained that we understood. That's why we are not by them. He then proceeded to tell us that we had to go inside. Rather than be outside period. I asked if someone may have complained about us. He said "no" but we had to go inside anyways. With a cocky attitude towards the whole group. Doesn't give us any other option not even "we'll this is a party you could go by the put put course and hang out there" no other option. Very disrespectful, and as we walked inside, mind you that we only had about 15 minute wait left. We over hear this same worker bragging about how he kicked us off the deck. I am a marine and I held my bearings. We definitely left right away. But this is not acceptable in my book, and it wasn't acceptable for my co workers who never been here before. This will probably be my and they're last time coming to this top golf ever again. Thanks for the awesome going away top golf. If you look at my reviews I'm not the type to bad mouth places. The food and drinks are good, but the organization of the complex is chaos. You have to check in once place to get a buzzer, then when it goes off wait in another line to buy games. You'd think they do it all at once to make things less chaotic. Finally, do not play the game "top shot" because they do not have all the targets visible. It was a very disappointing experience. So it's taken me a while to write this review, but I need to acknowledge several things about our visit. We randomly came in from Wisconsin for a bachelor party, we were greeted kindly as we walked in the door. The front desk was very helpful. We had a server named Sue. She was conscientious, and made things fun before we even ordered are first drink. She suggested the sunrise burger which four out of Six of ordered and the burgers were delicious. We never were dry, never had to ask for anything and the humor Sue brought to they bay everytime she came by was Hilarious. We usually have doubts about Servers that are a little older, but she rocked and if we take another trip to Top Golf we will definitely ask for Sue. Just made a yelp just to post about this facility! I came to Top Golf on a Thursday morning and was blown away! My two kids and husband heard about this place from a close family member living in Texas and we were skeptical on driving a half hour to just golf. When we entered the huge facility, the host, I believe his name was Brad, he was very friendly and caring towards us, he made us feel very welcoming and even interacted with my 9 year old, which I always like and he even found him to be very funny. He told us about the facility and how to get registered with players cards for us. I went to one of the girls at the front desk, her name was Kelli and signed up for the lifetime membership cards immediately and couldn't wait to get out there and play! Since it was our first time Brad even showed us to our spot right down the middle of the second level( which my son loved) and showed us how to get our balls and get started with our games. We also chatted a bit since he and I were raised in California and he was very sweet throughout everything. We ordered a couple of drinks and the mushi which I would rank a 10/10! My son ordered the cheese pizza and it was also very delicious and the server was just as nice as everyone else there! We had the most amazing time here and when we left we were more than satisfied with our experience and will tell ALL of our friends to come here! From the delicious foods to the the most friendliest staff I will definitely be coming back very soon! read more

Very unorganized place. First time I went I walk in and am confused to start so I go to a lady to the right and she stares at me without greeting or anything so I finally say "Hi I have never been here before so is this where I buy tickets?" And she says okay I'll give you Bay 50 so you're going to go Ik the stairs and to the left and make sure you purchase your cards as well. Confused I went up the stairs and found the area and I was confused where we get our balls and pay for them. A worker saw we were confused and we told him the lady told us to come up here. He said we had to go back downstairs to purchase the cards to play. Turns out the desk right across from the lady I spoke with was where we needed to buy it! She didn't direct me in that direction at all. So we get down stairs and there is a line so we waited and finally we get up to the desk and the women explains the deals and what not, that part went fine. Then she asks what Bay we were assigned so I say Bay 50. The lady looks at me and says "Bay 50? Are you sure?" Yes I am sure that's what the lady said. She walkies the lady asking her and the women goes yeah your going to have to go back to the check in to get a new Bay number because this ones closed. So we went back to the front and when we get there I told her the women said Bay 50 was not opened and we needed a different number. She looks confused and goes "nope she is mistaken that ones open." Very annoying and unorganized. Customer service SUCKS. No help what so ever. We wanted to play bags by the bags were missing so we asked someone and they said they would be back and never came. I sent my husband and a group of his buddies to Top Golf in Wood Dale to celebrate his birthday and these guys had a blast. Great atmosphere, food and drinks. They all specifically mentioned that what put their experience over the top, was the customer service that they received by Brian B. My husband and I took our two kids here for miniature golf ages six and four. You can't beat the price it was $22 to play 18 rounds and it was a perfectly fine mini golf course although I was a little disappointed that a lot of the water features were not running. some of the water features didn't even have any water. Not that that changes the mini golf aspect but it would've been nicer. My kids would have enjoyed the water features. read more

Forget Bowling or a movie... that's for boring people. you are not boring! Top Golf is the place to go for groups. I loved this place as an alternative place for a date, family fun, work event or just a guys/girls night out.. 3 Levels of driving range fun... multiple bars/restaurants, there are also different golfing areas of varying classiness to suit the occasion. You can spend a lot here, or keep it economical. An easy going atmosphere, great service from bartenders, servers, and staff. First time here with co-workers, booked 2 bays for a reserved outing. It was fun trying to hit the targets and score points, or just see how far I can whack a golf ball... you dont need to be a pro, just grip it and rip it! I Had a blast! Its easy to keep drinking though with the very attentive servers who will also call you a cab and help you stay responsible. The food is also very unique and tasty, the nachos, quesadillas and pizzas are awesome.. will try other foods next time. I want to come back from brunch and try the waffles! Top Golf satisfies different tastes, as they have a bar with screens for a game, trendy upscale type feel, a relaxed summer out door kinda feel.. I think I've made my point... To Top Golf! read more

For my first review on Yelp I have to rate one of my favorite places, even if it is in the suburbs. I love Top Golf because it is very social and really anyone can play it, so it is a great day trip from the city with a bunch of friends and some buckets of beers. The food is pretty good, too. I prefer to hit from the second level, but if it is a beautiful night and you don't plan on hitting with a driver (they don't let you from floor 3), the third floor is nice. A big plus for me is that the staff has always been extremely nice. From the managers, to group sales, to servers, to the front desk - they have gone out of their way for me or my group time and time again. I even brought a group of middle schoolers here for work and despite being very busy, the staff was accommodating and pleasant to even this group. BTW, the kids LOVED it. In fact, anyone I have brought there loves it. Worth the trip from the city, or if you live or work in the burbs, I don't know why you aren't there now. read more

Fun atmosphere and a pretty decent driving range. TopGolf combines golfing and a form of skeeball into a unique series of games. The actual driving range is a unique and fun experience, but since they serve food I have to review that as well. The actual food quality is pretty damn good for a driving range. I ordered the buffalo wings and fries while some other members in my party ordered the loaded nachos, chips and queso, burgers, pita sandwich, and quesadillas. Now before you go ahead and start calling us all fat, let's note that our party was about ten or eleven people at the time. I was surprised the food quality was pretty damn good and the experience was great. Now why am I only rating TopGolf a 3/5? Well, it may have just been an off-day, but frankly the service sucked. Our waitress was slow as molasses and never got us a pitcher of water which we had requested pretty early on in the day. Our assumption is since a pitcher of water is free, she didn't really care since she wouldn't be getting a percentage out of it as a tip. The experience is great, but at $35 a game it can get pretty costly pretty fast. If you're not willing to shell up $35 for a game you can go with someone as a guest and pay $5/game or pay $100 for your own monthly membership. Yes, that's right I said $100 for a monthly membership. Ok, for $100 though it's not exactly a ripoff. You do get access to the driving range, minigolf, golf course and a ton of discounts. Never-the-less you won't see me shelling out $100 a month for a membership I may use maybe once or twice a month. read more
