Perhaps instead of remodeling a perfectly good space, IHG should have invested in better menu items, more consistent food preparation, and beverages patrons actually want on the menu. The local patrons meet or outnumber hotel patrons most nights during the week, but repeated requests for better food and alcohol selections are ignored. I just want it to be better. It's one of our only options available in the evening in midtown!

When I made it to the window, my order was repeated and the receipt on the bag read the same. I drove 3.3 miles home with my tastebuds excited to enjoy one of my favorite breakfast items. Unfortunately, I had received a BEC BISCUIT! To say I was disappointed is an understatement. I toasted my own bread and transferred the eggs and bacon, which were absolutely delicious! Next time, I will make sure my order is correct before I drive 3.3 miles back home.

My family got refills on their drinks, but my drink came in a smaller glass and I didn't get a refill. We all got soda, so I'm not sure why. The restaurant is pleasant, but we were seated directly in front of the window unit air conditioner so we had to decide which one of us would be the most uncomfortable while eating. The bill was over $100. After discussing it, we all felt that we would have felt better about the entire thing if the food had been more fairly represented and priced. In NOLA poboy bread is good for one day and goes stale so then it is used to make bread pudding. The big poboy bread bakeries in NOLA have started to ship out their bread to other places and somehow have found a way to keep it fresh longer but it still just seems you can't get that same fresh poboy bread experience anywhere outside of NOLA. The ambiance of Gold Post is till 1970's fantastic with nothing being changed from the way I remember it as a kid so that is always nostalgic. The service at Gold Post is fast food style where you order at the counter but they do clean your table. Overall this is a decent joint and one of the few poboy spots in Hattiesburg, MS.
