    A Burned Incorrect Sandwich !

Been Coming Here Since Middle School , now The Service And Food Lack Care And Thought . Gave Me Completely Different Orders on a Couple Occasions and Now Felt The Need To Do A Review Because They Seem Not To Care About The Customers !

Decent crust. A couple more minutes would have been even better, but still near zero flop

I'll keep it short and sweet.... Toppings is as close as you're going to get to legit NY/NJ pizza anywhere in South FL. And their Double Hitter (extra cheese, double pepperoni and fresh garlic) is their top pie. One Bite score: 8.9 Pro tip: had them add onions today. Wow! Even better!

This is the a little Italian lady who marries a Jewish man and that's all he eats is Italian food. I'll give Toppings a five star

Last night I wanted a large calzone which could feed at least 10 people, I added my own toppings. It comes standard but you can make your own, so I added ham sausage pepperoni mushrooms. That was for definite 5 Star calzone I also ordered two chicken Parmesan heroes which were out of this world no skimping. Those sandwiches were five star sandwiches without a doubt. The best Italian food in South Florida I must say. Definitely worth the money, I know quality I'm Sicilian mother of seven. I compare Toppings to Little Italy In the Bronx New York. The sauce was as good as mine, the chicken Parmesan , out of this world. I am pleased to write this review, I don't know these people from a hole in the wall. But my sons said they ordered there before. Oh in a heartbeat then my number one Italian restaurant and we had it delivered they gave us a time of one hour but the food came in 35 minutes. Very small move.

    Double hitter with half pineapple

This review is for a two pizza delivery order. First off, finding a pizza place that fits everyone's individual preferences is impossible but this pizzeria almost meets all of mine. Overall pizza style: thin crust pizza, loaded with toppings (and lots of grease) reminiscent of the pizzas I grew up with in the 90s. Pizza crust was floppy on both pizzas so I will be asking mine well done next time I order. The Double Hitter Pizza with Pineapple was my favorite pizza of the night. I personally love the sweet and savory mixture of pepperoni and pineapple. Their addition of chopped garlic to this pizza added much more flavor than the garlic powder offered by other pizzerias. Belly Buster: This pizza is LOADED with toppings! I liked how the onions & peppers were halfway cooked instead of completely raw as in other pizzas I've tried elsewhere. Delivery took 45 mins from time of order.

Warm unopened Coke, no straw, no cup, no ice.

In one word: "Awful" I got set up on this one. I received a note from a fellow Yelper about how good Topping's was and that I should try it. As I usually take my fellow Yelper's words for things which have often lead me to finding some incredibly good places, I went to Topping's but quickly discovered that I had not only been set up, but set up for a rather miserable experience. As was recommended to me, I ordered the salad and eggplant parmigiana along with a Coke. The first thing to arrive was my can of Coke, half warm, merely plopped down in front of me unopened without a cup or a straw and no ice. That was just a hint as to how my further service went which I won't get into as I can only describe it best in what would be a verbose rambling of monosyllabic four letter words. Next, the salad. Ugh! An awful (expletive deleted) concoction of wilted soggy iceberg lettuce with a single thin slice of cumber, one of tomato and a cup side of out of the bottle Italian dressing. I probably have fresher salad or possibly one of equal freshness located somewhere in my lower colon tract. Then the eggplant, again Ugh and Awful! It was nothing but a mushy soupy mess of indistinguishable eggplant, gooey tomato sauce and cheese. As for the place itself, it's nothing but a takeout and delivery joint. For dining in, it only has one little eating counter equipped with a single chair and one wobbly round table with two chairs. So, the entire dinning in seating capacity is of three. Though their claimed specialty is pizza, which I didn't have and after my experience here certainly do not want to have, I can't think of a single good thing about this place. I haven't mentioned the name of the Yelper that set me up in going here with what had to have been an intentional bum steer, as I'll deal with payback for it at latter time.

The Stromboli, sausage, pepperoni, onions, and mushrooms
    Tim S.

Stopped in for the large Stromboli. Wow it's a lot. And very very good. The sausage and onions being extra tasty. Customer service a little terse but kinda common and good pizza places. Very good, and a nice yelp discount coupon too.

Small Stromboli with pepperoni, sausage, and mozzarella.

Ordered delivery from here which was a small Stromboli and a large pepperoni pizza. When it got here the Stromboli was not warm at all and the pizza was barely warm. Both were loaded with wayy too much cheese and super super greasy. We were disappointed with a lot of greasy food on our hands. Won't be ordering from Topping's again, which we expected and hoped for a good experience from them. :(

That's how much onion I removed from one slice...
    Kevin Christopher E.

Woah soldier! Easy on the onions! Holy sh*t! I ordered a large pizza with pepperoni, beef, and onions. What I got was a pizza with pepperoni, beef, and an entire onion. Waaaaay to heavy handed on the onions. I mean to the point I never want to order from this place again. Even my roommate who ate the leftovers was like "Did you order extra onions"? And the sauce could be sweeter. Not my favorite in Fort Lauderdale.

Just got an order for delivery. 2 cheese steaks and a Caesar salad $32 with delivery. Cheese steaks were awesome. Caesar salad was fresh, but light on the cheese. It was $6.99 so not sure what I expected. They said 45 minutes for delivery and it came in $35. All in all it was a great meal.

During my most recent visit, I ordered the lamb lasagna special at my server's recommendation. The dish simply wasn't to my taste, so I chose not to eat it. I never complained, never asked to speak with a manager, never requested that the item be removed from my bill, and never asked for any compensation. I fully intended to pay for my meal and continue enjoying the evening. The situation only became an issue because the staff repeatedly asked why I hadn't eaten the dish. I answered honestly and respectfully each time. When asked whether I wanted the meal boxed to take home, I clearly said no. Despite that, the dish was boxed and brought back to my table anyway. What should have been a simple matter of personal preference became an uncomfortable experience. Ignoring a guest's clearly expressed wishes made me feel dismissed and embarrassed in front of the friend who was dining with me. The problem was never the fact that I didn't enjoy one menu item--it was how the situation was handled afterward. After my visit, I sent a respectful letter to the manager and both owners explaining exactly what happened. I wasn't seeking compensation--only the courtesy of a response and the hope that the experience could serve as constructive feedback. More than a month has passed, and I have received no acknowledgment whatsoever. Restaurants occasionally miss the mark on a dish. What distinguishes great hospitality is how guests are treated when that happens. Unfortunately, the handling of this situation, followed by complete silence after my letter, has left me unable to recommend this restaurant or return myself.

We went in on a Friday night around 645 and the place was packed. It wasn't even season. We were lucky enough to score 2 seats at the bar. We started off with dirty martinis (extra cold) and they were served perfectly. We also began with the Caesar salad and the prosciutto and Parmesan. Both were excellent. The highlight for me was the prosciutto and Parmesan. We even had leftovers to take home and eat on toasted bagels the next morning. We split the linguine and clams as a main and still had leftovers as the portion size was very healthy. The pasta is all cooked al dente. The sauce was light and refreshing on such a warm night, and it came with plenty of clams the vibe in the restaurant was perfect for a Friday night. It was loud, but not too loud. Lively. We saw the chef/owner working in the kitchen and all of the staff buzzing about was friendly. They had several nightly specials. I will make sure to call for a reservation next time because it was obvious we just got super lucky scoring two seats at the bar when we did. Parking out front and valet is also available ($).

The calamari and eggplant were solid, while the meatballs were some of the best I've had outside of the Bronx My main, a breadcrumb crusted sea bass with potatoes and onions, was rich and flaky without feeling too heavy. Pizza was light, fluffy, and had very little flop. Wasn't the best leftovers though. We did not enjoy the pasta - it was undercooked, and the sauce was subpar. Menus placed drinks ordered, on the drink bar looked really good, including an old-fashioned, many mixed drink specials, and lots of martinis. There is also an extensive wine selection. One of my friends ordered the rigatoni with sauce, and shrimp. My other friend ordered the lasagna I ordered the Bolognese with noodles, and a 1/2 Caesar salad. We were to split the Caesar salad between the three of us. After about a five minute, wait the Caesar salad arrived, missing the request requested anchovies. While a minor convenience, the anchovies arrived on the side. The Caesar salad combined with the anchovies was almost on point. It seemed like the dressing was a little stingy. After about a 15 or 20 minute long wait, the dinners arrived My friend rigatoni arrived, missing the shrimp. The whole dinner was taken back, and then returned to him with the shrimp on the side on a different plate. Why was the plate removed? Why couldn't they just cook the shrimp and bring it on the side? My other friends lasagna was just OK. She ate about a third of it and took the rest home. My Bolognese sauce with the noodles was very good. It would've been nicer if I got the rigatoni instead of the noodles it probably would've been a better fit. For the prices, missing were side salads, or maybe a choice of soup. They should've been included with the dinners. Bread was requested, and it was very stingy also with the basket size. It would've been nice if the bread was served without having to ask for it. We skipped desserts. All in all the vibe was just OK because the meals showed up with a fault from the kitchen Service was cheerful at the bar, as the staff was eager to please the guests I did love the open air concept of the restaurant. This was definitely a plus.

Though the décor and ambiance remain the same, all of which is very good, there is a distinctive as well as exceptionally notable improvement in service and, most importantly, food quality. That's even to the point I can go now go four stars on the new Ruggero's. Ruggero's occupies a rather enviable corner location on the corner of East Oakland Park Blvd. and NE 27th Avenue being setback from the busy Oakland Park traffic with plenty of parking available. Fortunately Ruggero's retained the pleasant patio outdoor seating of the locations former occupant as well as its interior décor and bar area which has a classic comfortable style, feel and look about it. Ruggero's menu couldn't be better in that it is wide ranging in Italian offering with the bonus being that they usually have a good number of nightly specials as well. As an appetizer, went for their night special of what I was told was to be "Grilled Calamari." It arrived in a good eye appealing presentation with a generous serving of sliced cuts of calamari steak that were exceedingly tender and nicely seasoning enhanced. Though I don't think the preparation came anywhere near a grill and was void of a char or grill flavor, I think that was merely a mistake in communication, minor detail, for which I won't search out any fault. That however is mostly for the reason that if I do, I most often find the fault to be my own. LOL! Though Ruggero's had a good number of unique night specials, I ordered their veal as it's a dish I know; hence has some comparative values to me. As with the calamari again served in an eye appealing presentation with a side what turned out to be an excellent risotto. As for the Marsala, the veal was tender but clean to the bite, no mushiness, retaining a good texture. Though I thought it sort of failed in Marsala flavor, the sauce was dark, rich, had plenty of flavor with an exceptionally good flavor of mushroom throughout. Ruggero's could, however, spruce up on a few minor things. They serve a delicious bread, but mine came without butter or dipping oils. Nothing but bread, and the tables are void of any salt, pepper, sugar or sweeteners. Besides the food, which I enjoyed, the service was exceptional outstanding, professional, polite and thoroughly knowledge.
