They do something right that other pastrami places fall short of and that mainly the overall fee of the sandwich when you bite into it. It's juicy but not drenched. Also it's easy to eat. The bread they use is not too firm anywhere yet holds it all together wonderfully. If you want to know how it tastes, you will just have to eat it yourself because anything I can say about it won't do it justice. Unfortunately it was too irresistible for me to even leave any pictures. Trust I will be there again and hopefully have the self control to snap a few first before it disappears. On a side note, though I got the combo with fries and a drink, ended up going back and getting the gametime fries. Fries, chili, cheese, and pastrami and finished that too. Pastrami melt combo with a side of ranch For some reason I find their fries more delicious than McDonalds and their ranch to be the best. Because yes, ranch matters and every place has a different taste. It's been the same people working the counter for a few years now and I truly appreciate seeing a familiar face. Pretty disappointed with the grilled chicken salad...the flat dried out really flattened out skinny chicken breast is horrible, looks like you guys ran over it with a trash truck tastes like it too. I prefer the old style chicken salad cuz the chicken was juicy and flavorful. This new 2024 chicken is like chicken jerky, it's bad, must cost you guys 50cents to serve. The fries were smaller in size (similar to In & Out), hot out of the fryer, and ample for the 3 of us! Very impressive! I don't think this place knows what "world famous" means. Came here on a whim because I wanted a pastrami sandwich to watch the game with and didn't want to drive all the way to the Hat. I ordered a pastrami sandwich and a small fry. First off I called the order in which did me no good because they didn't make the order until I arrived to pay for it. Then I felt like they kinda hurried up to prepare the order which is probably why all the mistakes happed. The fries had no brown coloring and were a little crispy on the outside but cold thru and thru and had no salt on them whatsoever. Fine whatever. Moved on to the pastrami sandwich when I got home. First bite I was like man is this bread stale. Thought maybe it was just the edges so I cut it in half and tried again. This time not only was the bread stale but I saw mold on the inside of the bread. Needless to say I stopped eating it and called the restaurant. They guy told me there was no manager there, that Rene the manager would be there tomorrow and he took my information and said he would have him call me. That was Sun afternoon and I have received no call. And when I called on Tuesday I was told Rene wasn't there. I'm starting to think Rene doesn't exist. I went to Tops Jr because of a tik tok I saw and I love hamburger joints like this since I was a kid. Tops Jr is one of few places that still carry a beef burrito. Most places have converted to a carne asada burrito and no longer have the shredded beef with cheese burrito. I ordered and paid with a credit card. I went home when my credit card alert hit and started a higher amount than my receipt. I take a closer look at my receipt and it states paid in CASH??!! Can't believe they charged me $9 extra. I placed a dispute with me cc company and hope I can recoup my $9. The food was very good and this place could have been my go to but unfortunately for them, they will no longer get my business. I understand that all restaurants have to raise their prices in california to stay afloat but unfortunately they are also reducing the quality of their food. If you have to raise your prices, then raise your prices - But don't lower the quality of your food. If I order a hamburger, then I expect a hamburger. And If you have to raise your price to $20 for a hamburger then at least I can decide if I can afford it and choose a diffeferent option rather then wasting $7.71 on nothing where it could have gone towards something more substational. read more

After we finished christmas shopping at Target, we decided go to Top's Jr just minutes away from Target, we were hungry after long hour from work and christmas shopping for our family and friends and buying her stuff for my wife pre school class. I remember be coming here since I was in El Sereno Jr and Wilson High. The food is still really good since it been here in Alhambra many years. We arrive almost closing time we decided quickly to get the grilled chicken sandwich to share and my father-in-law came with us shopping he got the cheeseburger combo. Couple minutes later our food was ready our grilled chicken sandwich was big we then to cut it in half we can share it. The sandwich have a very flavor with lettuce, tomatoe and the grilled chicken plus their sauce. To me it need more flavor it wasn't bland it just need pickles and a spicy sauce or more, but the bread they use a French bread very good. The fries were good we didn't finish the fries. My father-in-law enjoy his burger and fries. The funny thing happen when we were eat they turn off the lights off we were almost but we didn't complain.
