Lunch special: Meatballs and house salad
    Gina S.

Good pizza and food, been going to this local spot since I was a little girl. We have seen 3 change of owners and the food is constantly good. Ao happy for the new owner who has been working there for years and the hospitality, Enjoy a good lunch special, pizza and they have a dinner special with bread, drink, salad or soup, spaghetti and meatball and pizza. Great deal, go hungry!. Lol. Salute!

Genovese's is our families spot. I been coming here since the early 1980's it has a new for last ten or so years it's a small and giving you still amazing pizza!! Before the pizza's couldn't fit thru the door so you turn your box's side way's But now it's wheelchair accessible with a wider door today. The largest pizza is 36 ' inch still the same sauce and topping. Today we stop for lunch and we had the lunch specials The owner is Chef Hugo and owner. Service is excellent Karina has been here forever! She amazing she runs the lunch and dinner inside and out and there's a back patio very cute and the front has tables back before the pandemic you had to wait in line for a table. But let share the love here keep it going here. Karina has know my brother for awhile now and what he like all the menu but no cheese my brother he likes it here cause it close by to his home and he's regular here. It's always clean and very fresh food The owner always comes out to ask you how it going too Air conditions is great here and cool inside too it get hot in the summer afternoons but nights are cool in the patio's. All we love the pizza and food from here

I came in not long after they opened, was sat and ordered straight away. Food came quickly, service was good. I thought my food was fine, I think I'll order a pizza on the next visit. Some room for improvement could be had on their ordering systems through apps. While dining in, I overheard 2 different parties come in with orders on an app and the restaurant reported they had not received them. The waitress and one of the cooks were trying to troubleshoot on their end, but they appeared to be struggling. I personally love the ambiance, it's quaint and simple. I did, however, find a couple spiders in the bathroom .

The food was delicious, made with a lot of love. The waitress was very kind and gave great customer service . They have a reward system as well, I already got $10 off the next bill. We will be coming back again soon.

The food 10/10, the service 10/10, the ambience 10/10 !! I ordered the Tuscan Salad with chicken instead of shrimp and a slice of lemoncello cake, it was all magnificent. If you're in the area I suggest stopping by and sitting in the outdoor area, you wont regret it.

Cute patio space, homey and eclectic. Everything is self-serve; dinnerware is in the armoire. The waitress looks busy and overwhelmed. The sandwich looks like a deli sandwich and lacks presentation. The minestrone soup is on the acidic side; a chunk of cheese in the soup is a nice touch for flavor, but again, the presentation... it looks like a piece of floating booger. But of course, the pizzas seem to be their main thing, and they did not disappoint. I asked for thin crust and extra cheese on the margherita and quite enjoyed it. The salad was great, very fulfilling, with 10 pounds of veggies, and the prawns were nicely flavored. Good spot to sit on the patio for a relaxing lunch, like a little oasis away from the city. The urinal in the bathroom is unusually tall, not friendly for my fellow Asians.

this place is SOO good!! literally so happy that it's here in alhambra - if you're not careful you can totally miss it as it's a small mom & pop shop, but trust me you'll want to try it!! i'll admit, I was hesitant to try Genovese's at first because I saw it's rated 3.6 stars, but i looked into them and most of the low reviews were from years ago during COVID, which I don't think gives the current experience a fair shot. i'm really glad I gave it a chance because this place totally won me over! my favorite thing is their $50 dinner special for two--it's such a good deal at $25 per person. Each person gets an entire plate of spaghetti, salad, garlic bread, their choice of wine/beer/soft drink AND you get to share a pizza. Everything tasted fresh and full of flavor, and the vibe is welcoming with the friendliest staff. so happy i found them!

The decor is also very nice, it's like a transformation walking into a tasting area in a winery. I get why this place is the way it is, it is a different persona from the other owned establishment, but wine can be intimidating. You have the reds, whites, the sweets, the sparkling and etc. Not only the difference in profile, but you can pair it with food to enhance the overall flavor. There's potential to display educational decor or have sessions to educate. They do provide a wine club, but small steps can establish commitments with a new customer base. The pizza is delicious. The sauce is great, the crust is solid, and the toppings are of quality. If you want something light and fresh, the Margherita. The most underrated pizza since we are all accustomed to a lot of toppings on pizzas. This is a must try. This place out of the other owned spots has burrata cheese. I think adding mozzarella with burrata would improve this pie, but nonetheless still good. The truffle pig pizza was also good. If you're looking for meaty and something not too light, this would be a good option. I definitely will be back. Thanks for everything!

Being in a party of 4 girls coming from high tea, we were dressed in elegant dresses, first comment was asking if we were coming from church, followed by eye flutters, short "okay" with an upward inflation to a joke about the day, an impatient comment about hurrying up and trying the wine while we were talking, asked for water when we were out, were left to pour the rest of our wine, didn't ask how the food was all the while was attentive to the table behind us, the cherry on top comment was when we were discussing the bill at the end, he was hovering at the table behind ours, then when we were ready, we asked to split the bill into 2, my portion on mine and the rest on another card, he then said "this isn't like a drive through, we can't do it that way" so I asked him to explain his comment, cause it was passive agressive and rude. After he wasnt able to becuase he wasnt expecting me to call out his rude comment, I had to then break it down and specify what I had ordered, he then sold "okayyyy....so how much, cause we don't itemize?" I had to again express for him to specify how they do it cause he has still yet to explain where his attitude is coming from and explain how they do their check splits, from my understanding it just felt like he wanted to play dumb and make me to the math, one I did he was like "ohh, okay" should have asked for the manager but we paid and left, I hasnt had this experience before being a returning customer, but he needs an attitude adjustment as his attitude was completely out of pocket. Do better Manuel, you alone got your place of work a 1 star. The rest of the staff was kind, facility beautiful and food and wine was good. This restaurant is not reflected in the 1 star.

I was bummed when the restaurant that WAS in this space closed. I am VERY happy this spot took the…read morespace and has brought a fantastic menu and flavor back to the space. I was pleasantly surprised at the welcoming staff and warm ambiance. Going to slide one complaint in here, the noise level in the upstairs portion of the restaurant is LOUD. We sat upstairs and it was pretty difficult to hear my friends talk from just across the table. We powered through, and by the second half of our meal, most diners had finished and left us upstairs with only a couple of lingering parties. THEN this place became GREAT! Here's all that we stuffed ourselves with during the cacophony of chatter: flaky buttermilk biscuits, honey butter (3pc; please allow 20 minutes) - totally worth the 20 mins!! Super buttery and flaky, I might go back JUST FOR THIS! crispy calamari, horseradish cocktail sauce - great little kick in the sauce. Perfectly lightly battered. fideos, clams, chorizo, saffron, sweet sherry aïoli - mmmm, this was delicious. The Spanish chorizo enhanced the broth with a good saltiness. white shrimp from the griddle, aïoli - this was my favorite. The shrimp was not overcooked and peeled easily. The flavor was good enough to slurp the juices out. single burger, prime chuck, tillamook cheddar, dijonaise, egg brioche bun & crispy french fries - good meaty burger, love the dijonaise, GREAT shoestring fries. Parking is a little challenging during the day, not so bad in the evening. It's South Pas, a little neighborhood walk after dinner never hurts.
