Overall this is a great place. The star of the restaurant is the bar that takes center stage. Plenty of seating and tables surrounding as well as semi private large group spaces. Service was A+. Bartenders were helpful and on top of everything. They backed each other up and worked fabulously as a team which is rare to see! The food was good. I ordered some appetizers to go with my espresso martini. Was not a fan of the flash fried artichokes unfortunately but the flavor was fine just not for me. This is a nice bar and restaurant in downtown Petaluma. There's a large bar in the middle of the main room with a dining area near the back. The bar has a good selection of beers, and you can order food as well. There is also a room in the back for private parties. I was here for a private party for a group of about 25. The service was very good, and the food was superb. We started with a charcuterie board of crackers, cheeses, meats, fruits, and nuts. The dinner was a buffet of Caesar salad, pesto raviolis, salmon over rice, and steak and mushrooms. Wow, it was all so good. Dessert was their signature cheesecake, which was probably about 2.5 inches tall. It was so good, I regretted sharing a slice with hubby instead of getting my own :) The only issue is the room was pretty small so sound just echos off the walls which makes conversations a little difficult in the noisy room. Food was pretty good. We had reservations for 8:30pm, we were sat at 9:00pm. Ordered a burger to be medium and it was cooked well done. Other people in our party had the same experience. I have high hopes for Torches. They just reopened under new ownership and a new name about three weeks ago. We went for a birthday dinner we were a group of 10. The ambience was nice it was a little echoey we were in a corner in the back. They seem to have a great bar business...it's very cool the bar is in the middle of the restaurant. The food took a little longer than we anticipated but we entertained ourselves well so it was very enjoyable. The service was great. Visited Torches in Petaluma for a birthday dinner with a party of 16 on 5/31/2025. Food was great, drinks were excellent, and our server was kind and did her best. Unfortunately, the service overall was slow and what really ruined the experience was witnessing a manager (a blonde older woman) publicly berate our server over a small mistake. It was loud, humiliating, and incredibly unprofessional. Everyone at our table was shocked. When I brought it up to the on-duty manager, she already knew who I was talking about--which tells you everything--and it felt brushed it off without any accountability. Also, my 3-year-old's meal came out last, long after everyone else had been served, which was disappointing. I really wanted to love this place, but the treatment of staff was unacceptable. No food or drink is good enough to make up for that kind of toxic management. I won't be back. read more

We went on a Wednesday and it was so much fun! They had line dancing with an instructor and it was FULL. I'll say that it isn't your average bar since kids are allowed inside. They had one bartender who was a busy busy bee but he handled the best he could. I can't speak for the food because I didn't eat here and only stopped in for a drink. I had a margarita and it tasted like it was made with premade mix. I'm not sure if it was or not. This review is for take out: My partner and I decided we wanted to stay home so we ordered based on the reviews it had on yelp. We ordered to take it home thought it was a bit expensive for what it was. I got a portobello mushroom burger and my partner god the pesto ravioli, we also got 8 hot wings & no drinks. We got home (I live only 5 minutes away) and started eating. Unfortunately my burger was super soggy and the mushroom in the burger is like a singular whole mushroom (which is why I think the bun on my burger was soggy). I ate it anyways and it was pretty good in flavor! The onion rings it came with with also delicious. The ravioli my partners liked and it also came with the salad. The flavor is definitely there so I think maybe I'll try it again and update my review later but this time dine in. The 3 stars is just for price and my soggy burger:( read more

We had a young man who was polite but inexperienced and had a difficult time with our order. We shared a clam chowder that was good. My wife had the chicken Alfredo which was okay and I had the fish and chips with fries and coleslaw. It was a large order of crispy cod that was tasty. After the first incident (9mos ago ) i decided to go back in and give them a second chance ( fist time around it took more than 40 minutes to take our orders for delivery drinks) nothing has changed, they are so overwhelmed they basically ignore you and when your request something they answer very rude. My bride and I went to Torches for the first time. The Service was five stars from the person who brought us to our table with menus to the George, our server who was simply the best. Couple of examples. I ask for hot tea. What I got was a mug that had been heated with hot water, and the tea that had steeped so it arrived hot and drinkable right away. NEVER had that happen before. Also George kept checking in so that our "coursed" meal arrived when the time was right, fresh and hot. Not sure I remember that last time that happened. We introduced ourselves at the outset and George called us by name. That's a pretty rare server. It's usually reserved for a "regular." We started with the fried artichokes. It was my wife's favorite dish. Next was a cup a clam chowder. And it had more clams than potatoes. Wow. Like homemade! This was my favorite. Next was a 50's wedge blue cheese salad. It was very tasty. I finished with the fish and chips that was hot, the chips tasted like they came out of the fryer and were put on my plate at table. The the fish was perfectly cooked. The chocolate ice cream was some kind of chocolate cake ice cream which was not what I was hoping for. With all this above sunshine why only 4 stars? Ambiance. I don't "get" a sports bar / restaurant combo in one room. Two rooms of bar with food service and another room that's a dining room I DO "get." It's pretty common.
