I've been to this Torchys ~5 times. Not one good experience. From rude service, to multiple wrong orders, to even a manager interaction that was the epitome of "not caring". Chose to leave a review finally because the final straw was ordering a chicken burrito to go - I got home and there wasn't a singular piece of chicken in the burrito. Wish I would have read these reviews before just assuming this Torchy's was anything like it's other locations. My online order was scheduled to be ready at 12:35 pm. I got there a little early. There were two women at the register. One was busy with another customer, so the other helped me. My order wasn't ready yet, so she implied that she was going into the back to check on it, so I stood nearby and waited. While I was waiting, two other employees came out and announced names for pick up orders - neither were mine. Then eventually a third person came out from the back and dropped off a to-go order but didn't announce a name. I waited and waited. The one female cashier still left out front was increasingly busy at this point, so I couldn't ask her about the unnamed order. The gal who was originally helping me came back out to check on her coworker, asking her if she was ok and if she needed help. She totally ignored me standing there still waiting. Finally the gal who was originally helping me came out to ask my name again (wow! Really?!) and found that my order had been dropped off by the guy who did not announce anyone's name when dropping off the togo order. I personally found this to be pretty crappy customer service and not what I would expect from Torcy's. I'm very disappointed. My order sat there ready to go for about 10 mins before the gal who was supposedly helping me actually did anything so by the time I got back to work my food was cold. Least friendly and caring person I've ever experienced at a Torchy's. To follow up - I contacted Torchy's via the online portal suggested below 2 days before posting this review. Ordered 4 tacos to eat at the restaurant. They came in a bag for to go. They were no fresh in fact the fajitas taco was cold and the barbacoa cooler, like they were refrigerated and no warmed before packed. Barbacoa cold is like pure oil... I will never come back. read more

Don't get me wrong, I love Torchys but last two visits to this (8601 So. Congress) will be my last at that location. I give the food 3 stars, but one star or less for the atmosphere. The music is always so loud, everyone in the restaurant has to shout to be heard which adds to the decibel level. (think elementary school cafeteria plus a boom box with chest rattling bass) Ugh! If you must eat at that particular Torchys, I suggest you bring ear plugs and use sign language. read more

Amazing service and very kind people! We had a great experience. The venue itself was lovely with lots of seating and an expansive bar. My husband and I placed a to-go order at the counter for 1 Elote and 1 Crossroads at about 5:38 pm. It took between 15-20 mins. for our order to be ready. The 2 employees we interacted with were not very courteous. The receipt clearly states no jalapeño, no onion in the taco, but neither was omitted. When I came to pick it up, I was forgotten about for 15 minutes, so my taco was cold when handed to me. Felt like I was at the ugly stepchild version of Torchys. I was pumped when this opened up right down the street, but seems like this location is very poorly managed. The slowest service you could imagine and bartender spent most of her time looking at the computer screen and not actually serving customers. The manager has the guest order food from one line, then go to the bar to stand in another line to order your drinks separately because if it's all done in one line, his bartenders do not make tips. ? BUT I let you stick your arm over my drink not once but TWICE so you could see the screen on the counter vs you taking yourself around the counter to look at it and then a THIRD thankfully this time I moved my food. I tried the breakfast tacos for the first time and they were some of the worst tacos I've ever had. The migas tacos were the most bland thing ever... none of the cheese was melted and the tortilla chips where hard and had been added in separate after eggs were cooked. I cannot believe I paid $14 for tacos that looked like they had been thrown together with no regard for presentation or flavor. I placed an online order for pickup over an hour in advance. At my designated time the Torchy's app said my order was ready for pickup. I show up 10 minutes after and the staff informs me that no my order is not ready and it will be another 30 minutes. I'm not sure where the disconnect is but that's pretty bleak to be off by an estimated 45 minutes. I love Torchy's and I hope they can improve in the future. read more

When I arrived there's was a bunch of people waiting for their orders, don't know if because they were not ready at the promised time. One lady receives her order and the employee apologizes to her as shakes her head from side-to-side and says she's going to check to make sure everything is in there is time. I give them my name and my order is ready, great!...until I get home. Our order was incorrect and it was last time as well, and a few other times. We ate it anyway. We don't ever call and tell them, not sure what they can do to mitigate the problems going on there that someone else hasn't already complained about. Seems like the business owner is responsive in directing people to the feedback website but my sense is that: 1. The website is not working 2. They haven't figure out how to right the course of this repeat offender location Or worse, 3. They don't care. They are consistently a miss with us and with most if you look at the reviews. I'm a longtime fan of Torchy's, but something is up with this location. I attributed the lack of organization and poor customer service to it being a new location and lack of staff, but at this point, there's no excuse for the all mistakes. I've only ordered to-go at this location so I can't comment on dine-in experience, but 50% of the time, there's something wrong or missing from my order. One time my entire order was missing, which doesn't surprise me since they put all the to-go orders on a shelf and anyone can just walk off with someone else's order. None of the employees check receipts. Another instance I called for a refund for a missing item and was told that the refund had been processed, but it hadn't. I didn't realize until two weeks later and had to call again to get a refund. Also, my to-go orders are usually 10-15 minutes late and cold by the time I get home. Further, I usually order for multiple people so it would be helpful if all the tacos were labeled and not just one or two. So now I have to open every unlabeled taco to make sure my order is correct. If you're ordering to-go, I would skip this location. I've never had issues like this at other Torchy's. read more

So happy this location opened so close to where I live. We really enjoyed ourselves here! Our order was taken very quickly at the front, and our queso arrived promptly and was delicious. Our tacos didn't take long either, and they were hot and tasted great. I got trailer parks and a breakfast taco. There was plenty of seating, and I could see the dirty tables got cleaned by staff very soon after customers left. I look forward to returning and sitting at the bar, where the seats looked incredibly comfortable and there was a lot of space to sit.
