Came to Torchy's Tacos for a fun event "Hooky Hour Launch Party". At the event, they had a live DJ on the patio and a paint tattoo station. They were giving out free drink tickets for confessing your best excuse for missing work. Had a photo booth and gave out fun swag like bandanas and flashing horns to wear. The mascot was also on hand interacting with patrons to join in the fun! They have a Hooky Hour from 3-5 with a menu selection at a discounted price. This includes a variety of half price cocktails and $6 food items. The manager came by to check on us and brought us a free chips and queso. With my drink tickets, I tried the mezcal margarita with tajin and mango. Was a fun event and we hung out on the patio and in the bar area. Been two years since I've been here, and it will probably be another two years before I return. Ordered food online, showed up right at my pick up time, 40 minutes past my pick up time, and still no food. At that point, the people waiting for food went ahead and got food elsewhere. I asked to cancel my order and get a refund and I got pushback stating my food will be ready very soon. I had to get a manager to agree to refund my money. The look, the lady gave me, you could swear she thought I was crazy or canceling my order as a food would be up very soon. Let's see if I actually get my money back or I have to go into the store, again. I say again, because two years ago, this exact scenario happened where I never got my food and had to get a refund. Torchy's always has excellent tacos, but they also know how to host fun events! On Friday,October 10th, they had an event called "Hooky Hour Launch Party." There was a Photo Booth with fun props; air brush stencil tattoos( freebies such as devil horns, bandanas and coozies; a DJ; and the Torchy's mascot dancing around, which was hilarious! Every half hour there was a raffle for Torchy's gift cards and VIP after show tickets. I didn't win anything. All drinks were 1/2 off and appetizers were $6. A very nice server named John offered us free chips and queso. It was delicious! The Hooky Hour will also take place on weekdays from 2pm-6pm. So, play hooky from work and check it out! read more

My wife absolutely loves the airstream salad and adores the blackened salmon on top. Whilst I love their burritos but alas I'm currently on a cut so I got the bowl instead. All their food is amazing and that corn relish on the salad is outstanding! read more

There were five of us and tried 7 types of tacos and a couple quesadillas; everyone was happy. Some come with flour or corn tortillas, so pay attention to that if you care. I liked everything. This is my neighborhood Torchy's and I have to say, everyone here is just so wonderful and awesome. My husband and I often bring our dog with us because there's a Tomlinson's next door so with all the smells from there and the other restaurants, coming to this plaza is one of her favorite mentally stimulating activities. The staff are so cool about her being with us. We sit outside, but she can be a little barky when we order and they are still genuinely happy to see her. It makes us all feel so welcome and comfortable. I've never had a bad experience at any Torchy's, but it is overwhelmingly obvious that this location puts a lot of heart into making it a great experience for their customers. We love our neighborhood Torchys.I still feel like they have the best margaritas. We show up during happy hour and the bartender knows exactly what we want. There is a nice patio as well as ample indoor seating. There's also multiple screens so you can get caught up on your sports games. read more

I'm a Torchy's Tacos lover, but either this location or my timing was bad. I was so excited to see this place opening up so close to me. We came here quite a few times and Doordashed from here a bit, but there was a huge issue with mangoes that left a sour taste in my mouth and had me feeling sick. After a month of not going to this location, my brother stopped by and had a horrible experience with mangoes. I contacted support and sure enough they were knowingly giving people bad mangoes for some reason? I made various orders throughout August-October and they all shared a consistent horrible taste that eventually made me sick. Why weren't they calling me when I placed my Doordash orders to say "hey, our mangoes are bad so we'll take them off or you can redo your order" or why didn't they stop me from ordering various mango tacos. I'd gladly order something else, but they went the route of giving me bad mangoes multiple times. Support offered me a refund (I was being nice and said don't worry about this), and Torchy's Bucks (I never got this, and they ghosted me when I followed up). I can't support a place that just doesn't care about customers enough to give them bad food knowingly so I haven't been here in a couple of months. To wrap things up, a quick run-down of some of the items I've had at this location: Churros are good but they skimped on dulce de leche. Grande Burrito had such a delicious tortilla but wasn't all that grande. Still something I'd get again, though. You can choose any meat you want for the burrito. Ace of Spades was really messy and filling. If you like sausage, definitely go for this one. Holy Diver I cannot give a fair review of, but it seemed promising. Cotija cheese did a lot. Brushfire is my go-to taco but it has my aforementioned mangoes so... As always, I highly, HIGHLY recommend Torchy's Queso. They're my favorite queso full stop. As far as this particular location goes, their queso has been on-point except one time when it was cold like they had pre-measured queso cups sitting around. To end on a positive note, Torchy's, in general, has somewhat pricey tacos but they come with a generous portion of meat. Everybody wins - high profit margins meets high meaty satisfaction. At least, when they aren't knowingly giving you bad food. read more

I love this new torchy's location! Interior design and the exterior patio facing north opens to a oak tree that they preserved in the development. The lighting and me ambience on the outdoor patio pitch perfect in the evening and they have even Incorporated a lot of drop-down fans to keep cool during summer. I always go to Torchys for their delicious Mr Orange taco. How many places make a salmon taco?! And it's delicious. Today I tried the special - fried catfish taco - which was equally delicious. I love Torchy's and this location is great. The dining area is a good size and they have a large covered patio. My family thinks their queso is the best in Austin. My kids and I have been to this location a couple times meeting a group of Pokemon Go players for a raid hour. This last time we were there the food runner wished us "happy raiding".
