You'd think by adding fully automated ordering that it would eliminate the need for a team member to actually work. However, what you've done is eliminate the welcoming factor into your business. There is now no face to welcome you, no team member to provide cups for your beverage, no one to help facilitate a custom taco... nada. Just a screen, lack of pulse, and a prompt for a tip at checkout! What am I tipping for? So that I can wait twice as long for my order than I did when there was an actual human present? Standing in line, waiting to be called up, Diana did not smile, and was not friendly. I ordered two tacos and one margarita. Never received the margarita. When I went back up to the register to let her know, she asked me did I take the receipt to the bar and let them know that I ordered a drink. I never had to ever bring a receipt to the bar. Come to find out, the bar printer was not working and never got my drink ticket. She made my experience at the restaurant more difficult than it had to be. The staff refused to make a Sprite for their customer that was waiting on their food. When I went to pick up an order the young lady at the counter handed me the cup. I told her I didn't think it was sanitary and asked if she could make it. She walks off and I'm like "Are you going to make it?". She says yes and walks to the back. She comes back with manager. We live in Houston so there are a bunch of TexMex restaurants, taco joints, etc. Some are pretty good but a good many are just "eh". Anyway--when I am ready for a taco, this little local gem to me hits the spot every time. Folks are polite and helpful. The place is fairly clean most of the time and stays consistently busy. In spite of that, the tacos are great as well as the salsa and wieso. It isn't the cheapest but it hits the taco craving spot every time. Or I should say about every week! read more

I'm a taco-holic and I've been to a lot of Torchy locations but this is very convenient in location and unfortunately they still are on the struggle bus when it comes to their service. I give them their stars for their menu, both for food and drinks... also love that their restaurant can be great for friends, date or even family - so that's a huge plus! As well, the location on Towne lake center is very scenic as its on the water, so that's a pro as well. What I dont love is there food always is super slow to come out or the kitchen- I've ordered dine in, to go pick up and delivery - it's a 50/50 shot you may not get exactly how you ordered something. Today my grilled shrimp taco only had 2 shrimp on it and typically its served with between 5-6 shrimp. That was disappointing The space itself has great seating, and I love their bar area as it's very lively and the bartender. I'd always very on top of it! Fill bar menu is great too! Tip: order their frozen margaritas! Verdict: I'll give them another chance/try in the future but I really hope they can improve on their turnaround for dining in customers. read more

If you are looking for breakfast tacos in Texas, Torchy's Tacos is the place to go. Lots of variety from your typical breakfast tacos to their unique taco of the month, the raj. The raj is a masala trailer tender, raita, Parsi salad, fresh mango, chili crunch, and mint & cilantro, all served on a flour tortilla. The raj was probably my favorite, the first bite captured authentic Indian spices. The breakfast tacos we got were the ranch hand and the jalapeño cheddar - nothing unique about it. Really just tasted the cheese and egg if you are looking for that type of taco. Our second favorite from the four was the trailer park - chicken tender was moist and had a crunchy outside layer. 3 salsas were given with this meal. The orange one was spicier than the other two. The light green one was creamy and the salsa verde was your typical salsa verde. Overall place was clean, lots of open seats and parking available. Staff was friendly. read more

Unfortunately, their version of "spicy" and mine don't agree. The Diablo sauce was mild and I was really hoping for some zing! It tasted good, but was not 4 chiles "hot". Bar was good. Pretty disappointed in my experience today. Today was my birthday, and I wanted a really good Mexican martini for cinco de mayo and my birthday. We were ordering our food at the counter when the person taking our order just walked away in the middle of ordering and someone else stepped in mid order which seemed odd. I later walked to the bar and the same girl who was taking our order was now at the bar. I asked for a Mexican martini (it is on the menu as a "Torchy's 'tini" but it is a Mexican martini that is served in a stemless martini glass and the shaker. Good tacos but pricey. First time here to this Torchy's and we should have probably picked a different time. The tacos were good but they were pricey. They had issues with their to go register right as I got there so it really backed up the lines but they were doing all they could. Things happens life goes on but then they left out our queso so I have to 4 star them. I would imagine it runs rather efficiently on a regular night but they are quite expensive for tacos so that's why only 4 stars plus missing queso. First they ran out of rice so my buzzard was buzzing and i though i has to pick my order but they they will look for me and wanted to ask me if they could replace it for something else. I don't understand all the complaints. It is always busy. Parking sucks, but i just remember i always need more steps....so parking far isn't an issue for me. The walking helps me justify the tacos. Baja shrimp taco is my go to taco. I haven't found my perfect second taco yet. All the other tacos are fine.... Service is always good. Not the fastest food delivery, but the place is always packed. This location is at the mall so you can easily walk around but during COVID I decided to wait it out, and 30 mins for 2 tacos was quite long.
