If you are looking for breakfast tacos in Texas, Torchy's Tacos is the place to go. Lots of variety from your typical breakfast tacos to their unique taco of the month, the raj. The raj is a masala trailer tender, raita, Parsi salad, fresh mango, chili crunch, and mint & cilantro, all served on a flour tortilla. The raj was probably my favorite, the first bite captured authentic Indian spices. The breakfast tacos we got were the ranch hand and the jalapeño cheddar - nothing unique about it. Really just tasted the cheese and egg if you are looking for that type of taco. Our second favorite from the four was the trailer park - chicken tender was moist and had a crunchy outside layer. 3 salsas were given with this meal. The orange one was spicier than the other two. The light green one was creamy and the salsa verde was your typical salsa verde. Overall place was clean, lots of open seats and parking available. Staff was friendly. read more

This place was recommended by a friend so we gave it a shot. Glad we did. Service at order station was great - recommended a couple choices and different salsas. Unfortunately, their version of "spicy" and mine don't agree. The Diablo sauce was mild and I was really hoping for some zing! It tasted good, but was not 4 chiles "hot". Bar was good. First time coming to a Torchys taco and I wondered why we didn't try this before! The outside seating is great. The fried shrimp tacos are so far the best ones we have tried! The waters are all so delicious! Now the customer service is blah. The young girls working there aren't nice but they aren't rude. They're just there. Okay, where do I begin? I guess let's start with the food. Their food overall is a 3.5. What they put inside the tacos is pretty good, but their tortillas suck bad. I mean, really bad. Think store-bought, run-of-the-mill, cheap tortillas. It's almost a sin to put their good fillings in such dismal tortillas. The adult drinks are above average. The place is always super clean when we go and has a cool vide and layout. The service is acceptable but nothing "over the top" or "above and beyond." A real, live human use to take your order back in the day here, but it's all done by machines now. Most of the time, my family and I ordered online for delivery. 60-70% of those orders aren't missing anything; the other 30-40% of the time, a major item is missing. The good news is that they are really great at making it right. So, in the end, if they'd just improve their damn tortillas I would bump this review up to a solid 4 stars. Back again & Idriss Sidi was at the bar tending again.... I'm glad here was here to were serve. Tonight I had a margarita peach & passionfruit swirl with a sugar rim. It was amazing, I could really taste the mango from passionfruit. Idriss NEVER disappoints. He's the best bartender ever. Horrible service! I waited 20 minutes for a seat, to which then once I arrived at my table, I had to wait another 20 minutes just to order. The food was somewhat exceptional, However, when served to me, the food was quite cold. Even worse, the ice from my drink seemed to have some sort of black specs. Really, the only good part of my experience would be the ambiance. It certainly felt like a trashy ''food'' spot from hell! Overall, would NOT recommend. Ordered for pickup. 1) got rid of the pickup only parking so it took 5min to find somewhere to park (how lame). 2) once I got inside, I was told my food was stolen. The place is always super busy. We came in and it didn't take long to get to the register. We placed our order and it came out pretty quickly. Our food was nice & hot. I got the crossroads beef brisket & the democrat barbacoa tacos they were really good. I liked how soft & juicy the barbacoa was. Pretty disappointed in my experience today. Today was my birthday, and I wanted a really good Mexican martini for cinco de mayo and my birthday. We were ordering our food at the counter when the person taking our order just walked away in the middle of ordering and someone else stepped in mid order which seemed odd. I later walked to the bar and the same girl who was taking our order was now at the bar. I asked for a Mexican martini (it is on the menu as a "Torchy's 'tini" but it is a Mexican martini that is served in a stemless martini glass and the shaker. The drink I got was pink and in a standard tall cocktail glass. I was perplexed, so I asked the bartender if this was the Mexican martini to which she was obviously annoyed and nodded yes. Seriously how does torchys never come out hot.. when it takes 10 min to make. I mean hot to where it's steaming , hot to wear the cheese is actually melted, hot to where the foil it's wrapped in actually is warm. I've worked in the salon in townelake for 3.5 years. Good tacos but pricey. First time here to this Torchy's and we should have probably picked a different time. The tacos were good but they were pricey. They had issues with their to go register right as I got there so it really backed up the lines but they were doing all they could. Things happens life goes on but then they left out our queso so I have to 4 star them. I would imagine it runs rather efficiently on a regular night but they are quite expensive for tacos so that's why only 4 stars plus missing queso. We will come in for lunch one day for another try. read more

Omg!!! Check your togo orders!!! I went inside and ordered 5 tacos, rice, black beans, and queso. First they ran out of rice so my buzzard was buzzing and i though i has to pick my order but they they will look for me and wanted to ask me if they could replace it for something else. Most of rhe customers were pleasant but the "high boys" behind me were scratching their balls, talking about genital herpies, and girls with butterfaces. I don't understand all the complaints. It is always busy. Parking sucks, but i just remember i always need more steps....so parking far isn't an issue for me. The walking helps me justify the tacos. Baja shrimp taco is my go to taco. I haven't found my perfect second taco yet. All the other tacos are fine.... Service is always good. Not the fastest food delivery, but the place is always packed. Cashiers are nice. There are always people cleaning tables off. No major issues for me! Keep up the great work! read more

This location is at the mall so you can easily walk around but during COVID I decided to wait it out, and 30 mins for 2 tacos was quite long. The size of the tacos are the size of your hand so I'd recommend 2. I got the seasonal Christmas taco and it was good, but not sure if it was worth the wait. read more

Update: check my photos. After a failed doordash order I went to torchys to pick up to go. After Queso came out for dine in the last 3 times I ordered to go I made sure to ask for it all at once, to go. Well it all came out at once, for dine in. Told them it was to go then they took it to the back. It came back out and checked it, no Queso on the trashy trailer park. Asked for Queso on it and this is what came back out. 5 years of going to 4 locations in Austin without any problems. Hope corporate sees this. Towne lake location has been horrible since it opened. Wish my kids didn't like it so much. This Torchy's just fails at service compared to the others. No line, 1 person ordered in front of me. Maybe 40 people total in the building. I ordered 3 breakfast tacos. I have been waiting for 30 minutes for them. Then I am told the "big online orders and catering orders take precedent over yours." Manager brought out my to go order and then defended it and wouldn't apologize. Never had this issue at any Austin location, vintage park, or Katy. This is sad to see such an awesome local company lose Their reputation by franchising and having subpar owners run businesses with their name. I'll be back, just not to this location. read more

Torchy's is always awesome, no matter where you go. If you want traditional taco go somewhere else. If you want crazy-custom tacos, hit up Torchy's. If you've never been be sure and ask for the secret menu. Not that it's incredibly secret but they don't offer it unless you ask for it.
