Update: check my photos. After a failed doordash order I went to torchys to pick up to go. After Queso came out for dine in the last 3 times I ordered to go I made sure to ask for it all at once, to go. Well it all came out at once, for dine in. Told them it was to go then they took it to the back. It came back out and checked it, no Queso on the trashy trailer park. Asked for Queso on it and this is what came back out. 5 years of going to 4 locations in Austin without any problems. Hope corporate sees this. Towne lake location has been horrible since it opened. Wish my kids didn't like it so much. This Torchy's just fails at service compared to the others. No line, 1 person ordered in front of me. Maybe 40 people total in the building. I ordered 3 breakfast tacos. I have been waiting for 30 minutes for them. Then I am told the "big online orders and catering orders take precedent over yours." Manager brought out my to go order and then defended it and wouldn't apologize. Never had this issue at any Austin location, vintage park, or Katy. This is sad to see such an awesome local company lose Their reputation by franchising and having subpar owners run businesses with their name. I'll be back, just not to this location. read more

Torchy's is always awesome, no matter where you go. If you want traditional taco go somewhere else. If you want crazy-custom tacos, hit up Torchy's. If you've never been be sure and ask for the secret menu. Not that it's incredibly secret but they don't offer it unless you ask for it. We visited this Torchy's for the first time today. Even though it was extremely busy in there and the food took a while to come out, our bartender was great and we didn't feel the long wait. She got our drinks to us swiftly and reassured us that the food was on the way. Once the food was there, it was delicious and we enjoyed our drinks the entire time. read more

This is hands down my favorite torchys location. All of the workers are awesome especially crystal she is super nice top notch customer service. Torchys finally opened in Towne Lake!! Ahh I love this area. The Torchy's was such a great addition to this cute boardwalk. For those of you who aren't familiar with this Cypress town center, Towne Lake is a board walk along a lake surrounded by different restaurants, coffee shops stores. This Torchy's location is pretty spacious, with lots of tables to sit on the inside, and out. Loved my experience here- the employees were so great and accommodating. Would love to sit outside one day with the beautiful view once the Houston weather cools down a bit! read more

Ordered take out at the restaurant, waited for food with a good book, and headed home which is 1.7 miles. No delay sitting down to eat, maybe 10 minutes from pick up to table. Tacos were cold, guacamole was warm (not that big of deal). Shredded cheese in tacos weren't even a little melted, don't know what happened but I have doordashed this place before and the food was a good temperature. This place is perfect for an evening out with the fam! Food never disappoints. It is more pricy than your average taco truck. That being said- they're tacos are nothing like an authentic Mexican style taco, so hopefully that's not what you're looking for! They load them up with meat and peppers and cheese... mmmmmmm! You def gotta try more than one of their sauces because they're all pretty darn good! Also- the kids menu tacos are huge, so you can't go wrong ordering from that menu!! I am really not happy with Yelp's pre filled review suggestion with appears every single time when review page is opened. It didn't bother me before because my review would be different than what yelp is suggesting that I say about a restaurant but for this specific restaurant it hit home ! Because several weeks ago I ordered food from Torchy's and All my food arrived cold but there's a microwave so I didn't mind to heat it up but after heating up queso and eating it I end up with awe full stomach discomfort. Summary- They just don't have it together even after the break in period. Very first time- at lunchtime and they had no queso and no street corn. Been a few times since.... still rough. Queso in paper because they ran out of crocks, having to go run down our drinks because they never came from the bar, having to ask for our queso because it never came then it came after our tacos. Little stuff matters and this particular Torchy's always seems to get one thing wrong at a minimum, usually more than one thing. Cluster. Fuck. Food- 4 Stars Pretty good giant American tacos. Queso is the star of the show. Service- 1 Star They aren't really together yet when it comes to service at this location and from their reactions they clearly just are struggling all the time. The view is great! But that's all I like. We have visited this location twice. The first time the owner(I think, maybe a manager) was talking to us on the patio and ended up going to go check on our food (only 4 tacos) because even she noticed how long we were waiting. She gave us some card to come back and try them again because of the long delay. Waiting 35 minutes for 4 tacos is ridiculous. Most people know Torchy's takes forever to get your food so they order chips and queso dip to tied themselves over until their food comes. (Great money maker for Torchy's) So the second visit: This time the order had 7 tacos. After waiting 50 minutes for our tacos. We were not impressed. I ordered mine with only brisket and avocado on it- that's all; nothing else. And it was wrong. I had to ask for the avocado. One of husbands tacos was so greasy that the basket paper had a pool of grease sitting in it. Everything was very sub-par. As for returning. I don't see that happening for several reasons. If I'm going to pay $35 for just tacos; I'm going to go to a sit down restaurant and get chips and salsa, have someone wait on me and not have to wait 50 minutes for my food. And get rice, beans and guacamole with my meal. I have noticed that staff who bring out your food look so sad. Not one of them ever smile. I know this is more a trendy kind of place, which I love the atmosphere. But first and foremost you are a restaurant you should get you act together. When visiting Texas, I was hoping to find some good Mexican food. This was more American fusion, but it was delicious. I got the queso, which was tasty and definitely good to share, as well as the shrimp taco. The standout was the trailer park taco (get it trashy). Fried chicken, cheese, yes please! Chips and queso, Baja shrimp, and Tipsy chick with the sauces on the side as stated on the receipt. 30 minutes later we received our food but the tipsy taco had the sauces on top. I immediately returned the taco and requested one with no sauces. My wife went back to the front the second time after 15 minutes, the cashier said "it will be out soon." Another 15 minutes passed, and I was close to finishing my meal, I decided to go up to the front for the third time and ask about the taco. Gabriela, the manager stated that "they are making it now." Try another location. I've had three back to back issues in this location and although I like Torchy's, this location sucks. First event was take out, where the order I picked up was completely wrong. I threw it out and ordered a pizza for the kids. Second event was going with my family. I never got my tacos after asking several time. My family ate their food. I watched. We couldn't get anyone to help us, so we just left. I didn't get a refund or a manager to see to it. Friday was the last time. After waiting for tacos for over 30 minutes (it wasn't busy), mine came out refrigerator cold and hard. It had been sitting for a very long time. My wife and kids were almost done eating, so I took it back and asked for a refund. The cashier took the receipt and went to get a manager and told me to wait. My family finished eating and I was still waiting. After a few minutes, Theresa (the manager, came out with the tacos remade. I wanted to leave and not have them done, I'd been waiting in a refund. I took the tacos and they were done wrong (beef instead of chicken and on the wrong tortillla. I said to just refund it. She printed out a form and said she had to send it into corporate for the $12 refund. What place can't offer a refund to a card? I still haven't gotten the refund. I can only imagine why a manager wouldn't be able to issue a refund... I'll go to another location. Also a point, on weekends, the parking get's very crowded and you can get locked in by people parking behind you to get pickup. Also, I've seen lots of high school age kids fighting and was charged at by a truck in the parking lot. Not Torchy's problem, but wherever there's lots of bars and lots of teenagers with nothing to do, we'll have fights (I've seen 2 at this location). I blame WOB for that environment. read more

This was my first time at Torchys. I had heard mixed reviews and was currious about it. My husband and I ventured out to Towne Lake for a late lunch. There didn't seem to be a long line BUT it was moving very slow. They only had one person working the register, unfortunately. I ended up ordering 2 Democrat tacos with corn tortillas my husband had the Beef Fajita tacos with flour tortillas. Plus we ordered the queso to start and a couple of sangrias. Surprisingly, our drinks came out almost immediately. Shortly after, our queso was brought out. The sangrias were average. The queso was OUTSTANDING, however. Unfortunately, my tacos were subpar. The barbacoa wasn't horrible but it wasn't that great either. And the corn tortillas smelled and tasted odd. My husband really enjoyed his tacos and besides the queso coming with guacamole, he also thought it was outstanding. Overall, I was not overly impressed with this place. It seems to attract a much younger crowd-for some reason. I wouldn't mind going again and trying different tacos. I guess that means I'm willing to give them another shot. read more

One of my favorite places in Texas! Their tacos are undefeated. My favorite is the steak taco, brushfire. They also have a steak breakfast taco that is top notch. The parking is a joke at this location. 3 people inside yet the entire parking lot is packed. It took circling the lot 6 times before a spot FINALY opened up. Well I've eaten at many Torchy's locations, but this location has never made a breakfast taco correctly out of the 3 times I've tried them in 6 months. From not putting items (beans) on tacos as ordered twice, to getting home to find uncooked potatoes in their std menu item at $4 each. I have never had to scrape the potatoes out of a breakfast taco before! The only thing that they have going for them is "all day breakfast tacos" and apparently they can't make these right. Strike Two First off, food and drinks are great! Never had a problem with the food which is why I gave them a second chance. As for service, this is one of the most poorly run restaurants I've been to. Whoever is expo'ing must be sampling too much of the tequila. Others had warned me, they were right. First time we went in November of 2019. At suggestion of manager we (party of four) ordered from the bar. Waited almost 10 minutes for drinks and almost an hour for food. When the food was brought out we were missing several items from the order. Restaurant was 1/3-1/2 full so not a busy time. . Most recently, ordered to go during the Corona Virus. Order came out nearly 30 minutes after it was supposed to be ready. Order was missing chips and queso, rice, beans, pico and gave us chicken instead of the beef we ordered. Seriously?! Wife waits almost another 30 minutes. Manager expresses her apologizes and lets us keep the incorrectly ordered chicken. Wife doesn't check new bag as she is just ready to get home at this point, gets home and CHICKEN again!!! Not the beef that was clearly marked on the receipt. It we'll be some time before we go back, I truly hope they get their act together as the food is tasty. read more
