Stopped in here at opening (7am) and there was already a line which is usually a good sign. It's set at the bar and had good service there. This place likes to get things going early, and I have the seven people seated there already eating, I was the only one drinking a non-alcoholic beverage.. LOL. Now to the good stuff, the food. I ordered to breakfast tacos: the Ranch Hand and the Wrangler. Both were massive in size and freshly made. I preferred the Ranch Hand. This one of our favorite lunch places. I will venture out and try their taco if month sometimes. This month is Tokyo drifter and it is spot on. The teriyaki glazed pulled pork is very tasty and the rest of ingredients are a perfect match to satisfy your tastebuds. I have tried many of their tacos. My favorites are the democrat , the wrangler, and crossroads because of the brisket in them. The beef fajita is my husband's favorite. We always get flour tortillas and the tomatillo sauce ( unless I try a new one ). The chips and green chili queso are a must have. We have to order 2 orders because of how much we both love the queso. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because sometimes a few of the chips are a little stale. If you are a newby to Torchy's I recommend checking out their menu online before going. They list the ingredients to all taco which I like to see. read more

We loved Torchy's the last time we came. This location wasn't very clean. They brought out the kids bean and cheese burrito and it was cold. The cheese wasn't melted. One of us ordered our tacos on flour and they came out on corn. They were a little slow with taking our order and our drinks sat at the bar for several minutes. Having been to Velvet Taco in Dallas and loving it, I was expecting the Fort Worth location to live up to the same standards... and it did! Very similar atmosphere with the same phenomenal tacos (if not better). I ordered the Spicy Chicken Tikka and shared some nachos with my buddies. The Tikka had the perfect amount of spice and fulfilled my craving for Indian food while the nachos were a refreshing spin-off of your classic Tex-Mex favorite. My husband and I went to the Torchy's in the TCU Fort Worth area. This was our first visit. We were there during the happy hour 4pm-6pm. We couldn't figure out how the service at this restaurant worked. We ordered 2 drinks with the cashier. We sat at a table but soon moved to the bar area. The bartender was very busy. He needed help!!! The restaurant didn't seem to have enough glasses. He kept rinsing out the same glasses over and over. Where were all the clean glasses? I asked for water and never received it. My husband had to get up from the bar and go to the cashier to place our food order. Question: Was the bartender supposed to take our food order or is it your policy that customers get up from their table, get in line and place their food order with the cashier each time? If so, that's not good. It interrupts the vibe. The bartender was very gracious and apologetic. We clearly understood, it was not his fault Another bartender came in at 6pm. Hello Managers, please provide your restaurant additional bartenders and a rack of clean glasses. Especially during happy hour. The bar was desperately under staff. The tacos were excellent!! I tried it at a different Torchy's location but I'm sure it's the same here 2. Fried Avocado: this one's vegetarian (and trust me, I'm nowhere close to being a vegetarian) but it's really good! FRIED avocados?! Can't really go wrong with that! 3. Democrat: super meaty but if that's what you're feeling, this is a must! My husband absolutely loves this one 4. Independent: also vegetarian, but if you like fried portobello mushrooms & beans, you'll enjoy it! 5. Chips & Guacamole, Salsa, or Green Chile Queso: I love their chips! Nice and thin and crispy. Torchy's has great tacos and has been one of my favorite spots for a while now, which is why it is unfortunate I have to write this review. The last 3 times I have tried to dine at this location for lunch, a worker has come out of the restaurant before I can even park to tell me they're not open or taking orders (computer issues... etc). I don't live close to the location but come here because I enjoy the food. So disheartening. I will be hesitant to go to torchys for lunch now because I don't know if they are "open" or not. It used to be good, but not anymore. I used to love Torchy's. I ate there twice a week, minimum; having one close to my office was a big plus. But the last few visits have been a serious let-down, and I blame their corporate overlords. The menu used to be terrific, with a slew of unique items, but then the powers that be started cutting corners. My all-time favorite, The Crossroads (a brisket taco) doesn't taste like brisket anymore, or even beef. The meat has the flavor and consistency of a smoked ham, which is a crime against cattle everywhere. My other go-to selection, the Trashy Trailer Park (fried chicken breast topped with queso) is also lackluster, the batter having lost its crunch and the queso its tang. All-in-all, I miss the way Torchy's used to be, and unless they revert to the recipes that made them, I won't be back. read more

I am so glad they have one so close to work! My team would often order take out from Torchy's. Although they are busier during peak times (as expected), they haven't gotten any of our orders wrong. I have yet to dine in, so this review is based on my take out experience. Their tacos are creative and delicious. You really can't go wrong with any of them, but my favorite ones are the democrat (barbacoa) and republic. If you like spicy, the diablo sauce is amazing! Had a pretty mixed experience here last night. On the standard torchy's tacos are amazing and I recommend anyone going there. This review pertains to my experience of this torchy's tacos last night. Originally placed a to go order for it to tacos. These tacos I normally get, the beef fajita and the fried avocado( both which I highly recommend). Once I arrived at this location and tried to find parking( close by parking is very difficult to find.) I came in and I decided to have my tacos at the bar since I was very hungry. My main reasoning for writing three stars instead of a five star quality bar/restaurant is due to the bartender customer service. For clarification I have been to several restaurants/bars by myself and usually never have a problem sitting alone watching the TV enjoying a drink before leaving home. However I have had a couple occasions where someone has tried to harass me by continually talking and the bartender or manager on staff came and spoke to the other person asking them to allow me to enjoy my night. However I was disappointed in this torchy's due to the bartender and other servers in the bar area that did not do this. There were two young men that were sitting about a seat away for me at the bar and immediately started calling me names like Gucci and chica trying to tell me to talk to them. I immediately told them I have been up for more than 24 hours traveling and I am not in the mood to speak to anyone I would just like to relax and have my dinner. Although this settled them a bit they continue to say comments towards me. The bartender and server is behind the bar didn't even seem to notice although I'm sure it was pretty clear because they were speaking loudly. In general they were disturbing the environment, they were rowdy and speaking a lot of ignorant inappropriate subjects out loud very loudly when torchy's in my opinion is also a family restaurant. I continue to ignore them and try and enjoy my dinner. The bartender never once even asked if I enjoyed my drink or how my tacos were which also surprise me about the customer service. Later on another young lady came up to the bar to order a drink and the two young men began to do the same thing calling her out and trying to get them to talk to her( they were clearly very drunk). She had a bit more of a stronger reaction and cursed them out basically telling them to leave her alone. In my opinion it was nothing ridiculous just she had a bit more flavorful worth then I did. Shortly after the manager Kevin, did arrive. I heard him talking to the boys asking if everything was all right. Obviously the two boys said that the girl was crazy and just freaked out on them for no reason. I was very shocked with the bartender agreed with them nodding his head when they asked if they were right . It was clear of the young lady had not just freaked out on them they have been calling her names and trying to get her attention in an inappropriate manner before she said anything to them. So in my opinion this torchy's tacos does not have a girl code not even a little bit. This disappoints me because I think a bar having a strong girl code is very important to allow everyone to feel comfortable. I did not feel like telling the manager then and there that the boys were wrong and that they had also try to harass me and talking to me in an inappropriate way because I was sitting right near them. Instead he help me with one of my tacos and replaced it because the beef for heater was not up to its normal standards. The overall do I recommend going to this location? Yes. Do I recommend going if you are a solo girl just wanting to relax and enjoy the bar? Not really. Well I come back to this torchy's possibly? Yes cause I love torchy's. Although I do wish that one of my favorite places to have tacos would have better customer service in the bar area and have a stronger girls code. Thank you read more

I was staying in Fort Worth for a three day visit, and this restaurant happened to be close to where I was at staying, so I gave it a try. The food was delicious! My partner and I tried multiple things over the span of our trip, including the chips and salsa, guacamole, beef fajita taco, chicken and pork burrito, multiple breakfast dishes, and the churros. I visited restaurant twice during my stay, once for take-out and once for dine-in. The take-out service was a little slow, but it was expected during this COVID-19 opening phase as they're probably not fully staffed. Service for dining in was a little faster. But, in both cases the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food from both visits was absolutely delicious with the very pleasing spice and flavor combinations. During my first visit, I ordered the Green Chile Pork and Mr. Orange tacos and Juan's Refried Beans. I didn't find the flavor of the refried beans as outstanding as the other food, but still above average. On the second occasion I ordered the Fried Avocado and Brushfire tacos and the Street Corn. I had a fried shrimp taco here with a spicy Green chili beer and some flaming hot Diablo sauce. Excellent. The theme for this joint, as the name seems to suggest, is spicy. It doesn't disappoint in that regard. The aforementioned beer is apparently made especially for them by Odell in Colorado, and is the spiciest beer I can recall having ever. They also have the craft Mexican soda available at many choice taco joints, which I score as a mark in thier favor. There is also a "secret" menu... Which is printed. I suppose they save that for slow times. My only complaint is that they have tacos called "the Democrat" "the Republican" and "the independent"...
