Empty on a Saturday afternoon. Sure, blame it on the pandemic but that doesn't excuse the lack of service. It took nearly 35 minutes to deliver 2 tacos, staff was nowhere to be found when to go containers was needed. We asked the bartender, he tossed a to go cup our way then proceeded to carry on his conversation. Um, where's the lid, what about my taco, can I have a bag at least? I would give this a no star, but that's not an option. Ordered my normal tacos and queso but this time they did not taste right. Within an hour after eating, I develop food poisoning. The ER doc said it had to be from the food that I ate at Torchy's since that was the only food I ate that day. My advice is not to order takeout. Be sure to eat in the restaurant in hopes that the food is fresh. read more

Love Torchy's. We eat there bi-weekly, usually on Sundays after some recreational activities. Their breakfast tacos are second to none and the queso is out of this world. This particular location has always done a great job with the staff in my opinion, they're always doing the right things and I can't remembera single time being disappointed with the service. Prices are good, they've increased a bit over the past few years (with probably more increases to come, thanks to inflation) but it's still a very affordable option. Pro tip: If you order your taco "trashy" - that just means they put queso on it!!! Particularly good on the "Trailer Park" taco. read more

Baja Shrimp tasted better without the shell and its fillings, Trailer Park was a bit salty and the street corn was overcooked. Would have been nice if the hot sauces I requested were included. With all the yummy variety and now the "monthly" tacos, I always want to order more than one. But the filling of one just one taco is enough to fill 2 tortillas! Absolutely phenomenal customer service. I placed an online order a couple of days in advance of my dad's birthday and unfortunately their online system was down today when his order was to be fulfilled. I called the location, spoke to the manager on duty, and he ran the order through the kitchen for my dad to come pick it up. Responding well to unfortunate situations is how great customer service is done. Customer care can be a challenge even when everything is going right, but it's situations like this that show an entirely different level of dedication. We only go here for Krystal. All of our favorite bartenders have left and the food is mediocre. Other than the bartenders, the staff is rude and are annoyed by any request to fix an order or request an extra item on a taco. Half the time when you tell them something is incorrect with your order, they acknowledge you and then never fix it. We primarily just eat chips and salsa. read more

Have loved this place in the past but today, January 9, 2021 at 12:00 noon was unacceptable! We came in ordered our food and a drink and then sat at the bar. This is during Covid - the bar was filthy - dust and grime everywhere. We told the bartender we had a drink coming and she proceeded to do other things before getting my drink. All the while she has her face mask pulled down below her chin and she is chatting with other customers. AND a young girl who apparently was her daughter was standing at the entrance to the bar, no mask, drinking a soda or something. She kissed her mom goodbye and then put her mask on and left. This was a rough visit. I've been to this location a few times and have never felt great about it, but never had as poor of a visit as I had today. The way the staff carried themselves was actually appalling. Clearly gathering at the register 28 minutes prior to close should take precedent over my food and drink delivery. As our margaritas sat on the bar melting, waiting for them to be delivered, I decided to just go get them. I waited to catch a bartenders attention to ensure I could take what I hoped to be drinks made for me. No no, prepping the register to close out for the night now 21 minutes prior to close was more important. I just took them. We had our queso delivered a full minute before the tacos (naturally following the important register meeting. Queso was not warm. Chips were basically crumbs. We ran out fast. My lovely companion finally interrupted round two of very important 4 person register meeting to ask for more chips. After all this I wanted one more marg. The bartender clearly hoped I would just walk away as he prepped the bar for closing (10 min before 10). I finally caught his attention. He wasn't happy about having to serve a drink. Even though he was a bartender. Conversation with second bartender who had equally bad attitude took precedent over closing my card. There was a Hispanic guy working his ass off to seemingly pick up for everyone else not interested in working. Kudos to him. He is what took this up to two stars. Tacos were ok. This place has been reviewed quite a bit so I wont go into many details. Tried the green chili pork, bushfire, crossroads and Democrat tacos as well as hillbilly queso. I hate to admit it but the crossroads with brisket was my favorite among them. Nice and Smoky. Wanted to try the special of the month but was afraid it wouldn't travel well with take away. Actually the tacos I ordered were kinda squished and cold by the time I got home. Chips were nice but the first two out of the bag tasted totally chewy and stale. Amazing tacos!! I came here when visiting my parents and this is exactly the kind of place I've been looking for. Every taco is delicious and unique- you really can't order wrong here. We also got palomas that were made with spice infused tequila and they were amazing! We came back later in the week to try the breakfast potatoes which were equally as great. read more

I just can't blindly embrace all the hype. I will concede that the size of the tacos are slightly larger than that of average street tacos, but not substantially enough to justify paying damn near $5 per taco. We've been regulars at the location in the Heights for years and are thrilled to finally have one just a few miles down the road! The food is as always amazing. They're new so I trust the few kinks others have had with service will be ironed out. We went at a quieter time and the food came out quickly. We were very excited when Torchy's came to Kingwood. Sadly, the service has gotten progressively worse over time. Tonight, it took more than 2 hours to get drinks, chips & queso, and 2 tacos. After pressing for the much-delayed tacos, when they finally arrived, we had them wrapped up and left, we were so frustrated. Even ordering takeout online has been inefficient. We can't seem to sort out the best way to get food in a reasonable amount of time. This is the second time we have ordered airstream salads through DoorDash from Torchy's and they have not been correct. I ordered an airstream salad with brushfire chicken and grilled shrimp. Visited the new location for the first time today - super stoked to have a Torchy's in Kingwood now! I'd read the other reviews before attending, so I went in expecting a little bit of chaos. We were pleasantly surprised! Yes, the staff is still learning the ropes since they've been open less than a month. But the service we received was excellent - everyone was attentive, and the manager came over to chat with us and make sure everything came out hot and delicious. They're clearly working to improve, and they're open to feedback. Our food was great - exactly what we've come to expect from other Torchy's locations we've visited. I think with a little more time to streamline service, this location will be even better. I'll definitely be back for more. read more
