I'm fine torchy's to be a pretty nice place I really like their food. they have a pretty good variety on their menu what I have found is there's typically things that are really exceptional that I like and other things that I'm not that big of a fan of. What's really strange about that is that a lot of the things that I think I would like are not a big fan of and some of things that I didn't think I would like it all I really love. You have to have their queso their queso is to die for. one of the strange things I've learned about this location is if you go inside in order to go every time so far they have brought my order out like I'm eating in and I have to tell them again it's to go I find that a little strange just because I ordered at the restaurant instead of online but oh well life in the fast lane. read more

So glad we finally got a torchys in the kingwood / humble area. Went to the grand opening today where they had free food and drinks from 5-8pm. The line was massive as to be expected but the employees handled it like a boss and were all super friendly. They have the best queso ever. The tacos are all amazing. The tacos are good but they're the smallest tacos I've ever had. You really need more than 2 for a meal & then that gets expensive for a Mexican meal. Also, filling to go orders takes a long time. Totally unimpressed. My taco with blackened tuna had charred tuna instead. Barely warm. Flour tortillas tasted like cardboard. Weird service: you order at the counter after standing in line, for some unknown reason they give you that lit square, which is normally used to go pick up your food, then waitstaff brings your food. Torchy's is awesome. Period. My wife and I previously lived in Austin for many years and have been frequenting Torchy's since they were just a trailer. All of the locations in Bat City and in Houston are different - whether that be quality or service. That said, the KW Torchy's is on point. Yeah, the wait can be long. An easy fix for that is to call in your order(then take it home and toss it in the oven for 5-10 minutes - leveled up tacos) and beat the line. Works every time. A big feather in the KW location's cap is they have never once slipped on our orders. I am one that will +/- tacos to death, and they are perfect every time. I could gush more, but I'll conclude with just saying THANK YOU for coming back after the flood. KW needs Torchy's. read more

Ive visited this location several times after they opened back up after being flooded by Hurricane Harvey. Tacos tried--Baha Shrimp, Fried Avocado and Trailer Park super trashy which is my favorite. Ive tried their salad which is huge and a good alternative if you are avoiding the extra carbs in the tortillas. To top it all off I always get the Green chile queso and chips which I love because its salty, spicy and the chips are always crispy. They even have a drink called the Lorena so how could I not love it. Service could be hit or miss especially by some of the servers but its always fast. I recommend it for a quick bite and a change up from the usual burger or bbq. read more

Love this place; love everything about it. Love the interesting flavor combinations, love the Green Chili Queso dip, even love the chicken tenders we get for our son. And even though it's minor, I also love that they have fresh lemons and limes at the beverage counter and a soda-water trigger on the fountain-drink machine. After working about halfway through the menu, my favorite so far is the Mr. Pink. My wife's favorite is to get a breakfast taco and put one of the chicken tenders into it. The only drawback (if it is one) is that the tacos are so filling, we can only eat one apiece plus the chips and queso. Keep in mind, if you're like my mother-in-law and all you want is a ground beef taco, you will be sadly disappointed. read more

First time trying this place...I know wtf right? I ordered 5 tacos and an order of chips with queso. I ordered 1 chicken fajita, 1 beef fajita, 1 cross roads, 1 republican and 1 trailer park. Honestly all the tacos except the republican and the trailer park sucked. The queso was awesome but I don't think I would be coming back. Honestly for the price I was disappointed. The brisket on the cross road was dry and lacked flavor. The chicken and beef fajita tacos weren't doing it for me either. The republican was good but I wouldn't buy it again. The trailer was good and I would buy that again. Me personally I won't be going back but if the office orders tacos from here I would get the trailer park and chips with queso only. read more

This place was under 7ft of water during hurricane Harvey and despite all that it came back strong. Workers are friendly and the food is really good. We got the brushfire and the Democrat along with chips and Queso. Make sure to test the red sauce before dumping the entire cup on your taco it's actually pretty hot but very good if you love spicy food. Atmosphere very enjoyable they do have a big bar that can make for a great time with friends and a outside patio. The restroom was broken and made for a bit of a disappointment but I don't believe it's a deal breaker since that's something that could be easily fix. I'm giving this location of Torchy's one star only because I can't give it a zero. The first two times they took way too long to prepare an online order, then messed up the order, and the food was cold on top of all that, I thought, "That's what I get for ordering take out on Sunday morning." But three times you're out, Torchy's. Today, it took 35 minutes longer than the time they said the order would be ready (which was 30 minutes after we placed the order, so a total of 65 minutes), and even with all that, they managed to leave one of our eight tacos off the order. Oh, I forgot, the person who brought our order out did say, "Sorry." So they have that going for them. :-| I live in Austin, the breakfast taco center of the universe and the birthplace of Torchy's. In Austin the Torchy's locations are small comfortable taco joints with good, fast, and friendly service, not to mention awesome tacos. Their coffee sucks but I don't go to a breakfast taco joint for coffee, know what I mean? But in Kingwood, the Torchy's is a large place with something like 25 tables, many booths, and a full bar (?!) sitting in the middle of the place. And you know what? It doesn't scale. That's the only reason I can come up with that they don't seem to be able to handle, with their 15 to 20 scurrying employees, putting together a fairly straightforward take out order in a reasonable time without screwing it up. If you want to go sit down, get a bar order while you watch sports events on the flat panels over the bar, and get your tacos brought to the table so you can complain right away if and when they get your order wrong or it took too long, great, then this might be the place for you. read more

Guy in the front super nice and friendly. Got my food almost instantly which is a little suspicious but it's fine. However my friend and I ordered beverages and no one brought them to us like normal. Had to ask the guy up front, he gave me my receipt and told me to ask the bar. My drinks were there, already made but no one brought them out, so they were pretty watered down by them. I hate to review in any type of negative way but the bartender is beyond rude and super uninviting. This has not been just once but on several occasions. He has been snappy and Just plain disrespectful when asking about our drinks that we waited on for 25 minutes. I understand when the bar is busy and he is the only one making drinks that it is only expected to be patient as a customer. But when he has attitude when just simply asking about a drink... We tried going in for just a quick drink and of course he was the bartender. Instead of greeting us with a hello he shook his head "NO" aggressively and said we can't sit there. If you want service and to make money, put a smile on and learn how to treat your paying clients with kindness and just plain customer service. I will never be back unfortunately. Came to Torchy's two months ago with my family The food was good but my husband found a piece of hair in his taco meat. Therefore that made the situation terrible. I think if you work in any food industry rather you cooking or bringing the food to the customers, you should have to wear some type of head gear. Back open in Kingwood after Harvey, these folks serve some great tacos. The barbacoa in The Democrat is delish. I've tried the Republican and the Crossroads, too. All good but so far the Democrat is my tasty fave! Lots of families so there's some noise. But a nice crowd at the bar didn't seem to mind. Limited, but good, draft beer selection. Very bad service. Be prepared to wait at least 40-45 minutes for your food. I ordered takeout. I called in my order since my taco came off the "secret menu" (unavailable for online orders). I was told my order would be ready in 15 minutes and to pickup at 7:30pm. I left with my cold 4 tacos and queso at 8:15pm. Let's be honest... Torchy's is a street taco. Come on.
