I love Torchys and I don't know what happened this time with my order. I ordered three Fried Avacado tacos to go and was happy they were actually ready on time! Then I got home and found they had read NO Lettuce or Pico and thought that NO actually meant extra, making my $16 order inedible. I don't normally go to this Torchys, and I will be hesitant to do it again if they can't follow simple directions. I would think it would be easier not to add things. Me and many people behind me stood in line and then after a while, manager said it was a Take out line and he opened another counter where I placed the order. I ordered 2 Tacos and 1 burrito. Came here for the first time with a friend that comes regularly to Torchy's. I got a shrimp taco on corn tortilla and the salmon one on corn. My kid got the bean and cheese taco and my friend got queso/chips and 2 other tacos. Our food was great. My salmon taco had 2 large sharp bones in the fish was the only complaint. They also had the liquid death lime waters I like. It was a bit pricy per taco but 2 was pretty filling. read more

We have been regulars at this location since it's opened up. It seems the customer service at the bar area has really gone down. We were there two weeks ago during happy hour. The four of us ordered one round at happy hour and then 10 minutes before happy hour ended, ordered another round. When we got the bill, it had not been rung in during the happy hour time, and when we asked the lady at the bar about it, she just said, "well there's nothing I can do about it." and walked off. That is never the answer that you should give a customer. Needless to say, if we do go back, we won't be sitting at the bar. read more

When I arrived at this restaurant I found that they were closing in 30 minutes. The cashier said I would have to order the food to go, but I could still eat it here because they didn't want to put more work on the dishwasher. The dishwasher? What I ordered would only have been a plastic basket and a bowl. When I got my order I sat at the counter, there were so much waste of paper and plastic just to save the dishwasher from extra work. While I had horrible experiences at most torchys this one was in the better side! The place was clean and not overly loud. We went for breakfast and it was decently good. My issue here is staff, the kid taking our order looked like he hated life and had zero personality. It's not hard to be a little nice and pretend to like your job. Best damn tacos out there for sure! Every time I come here I'm never disappointed. My go to tacos are the Brushfire or Tipsy Chick. Their chips and queso are hands down the best that I've ever tasted. I'm a huge chips and queso fan. My go to drink is their strawberry margarita frozen of course. The only bummer sometimes is the long wait, but I can't be too mad Bc the food is fire! I recommend getting there before the lunch crowd if you can and the same for the dinner rush. Everyone is always super nice and very helpful at giving you recommendations if you ever feel like you might need one. Parking wasn't bad which is always a plus for me. This location has more eye candy with their diablo decor. Flavors are consistent with the Palm Valley location, but so good that I had to leave a second review for this location. My BF was in town visiting and he's been wanting to go to Torchy's for the brushfire taco every day, sometimes twice a day. The brushfire is the perfect heat from diablo sauce and slow cooked jalepenos paired with sweet cubes of mango and fresh cilantro. The jerk marinade on the chicken is one of the best I have had. I arrived at Torchy's around 12:30 on a Wednesday and the lunch crowd was just beginning to die down. There was a line to order, but we moved through it quickly. This is the second Torchy's location to be built in Round Rock, which was needed because the first one is relatively small and is always packed. They planned this one out well because the space is larger with a lot more seating and the design layout has a nice flow. I ordered one Trailer Park (not trashy *gasp*) and one crossroads. Both tacos were good, but I think I definitely preferred the trailer park as far as flavor goes. I would like to try it trashy next time, which means you take away the lettuce and add queso. It took a little while for the tacos to come out. If I hadn't had good company, it probably would have seemed like too long of a wait for only two tacos. read more

I keep trying to give Torchy's a chance. Over & over again, I stop in hoping for a better outcome. And 3 out of 5 times, the service disappoints. It's a bit like getting back together with your ex, hoping it will work out better this time. The food is good. No doubt. But, they just seem to struggle getting food out in a timely manner. 20 minutes for a single egg, bacon & spinach taco on this occasion, and their ice machine doesn't work. The manager spoke with me upon my request. We had a brief yet courteous discussion about expectations vs reality and the resulting disappointment. He graciously refunded the charge for my meal & offered me chips & guac at no charge. I accepted his gesture of good will, and told him I would return for another spin of the wheel at some point. This was conveniently next to our hotel so I stopped in for a few quick breakfast tacos for the kids. It was nearly empty inside and I placed my order. I waited over 30 minutes for 6 tacos, and watched people get their food who came in after me. I asked 3 different people where my order was and I never saw any of those people return with an answer. Holy Christmas. Tell me why I just witnessed the worst possible management I have ever seen. One waitress tells me to go one way while the manager says go the other way. The manager...who I see is the only one running curbside orders like he's a general employee. I wait 45 minutes in the lobby for my order. And during that time, I get too witness an extreme lack of delegation. Every employee uses the "In" door, no one uses the "out" door which leads to a few bumps that are funny. Then the main cashier is talking to another waitress standing fairly close to me; they begin to discuss how this woman called in her order and then called back to make a change. They complain about how difficult she was. Shortly after that, a man realizes his order has been sitting there for at least 15 mins but no one told him. He checked the receipt on it, grabbed the bag and stormed out. He slammed the door pretty hard against the wall. Advice. If you don't like your job, quit. Fire the manager, he doesn't know how to manage. He doesn't understand what it means to delegate and manage. I own my own company, I would have fired the girl on the spot for gossiping in front of customers like that. And if you have to repeatedly ask customers what they're name is because they've been sitting there for 45 minutes, then you need to recognize that you are doing something wrong. It's not ok to be rude with potential customers. My son, my wife and I went to this particular establishment for the 1st time. The young women who took our order was very rude, not welcoming at all, and disrespectful. I didn't get her name, but I pointed her out to a manager who seemed concerned and said she would address the young woman. We ended up going to another location on highway 79.
