Came here for the Summer Friday's collab. Won't be making it my regular matcha spot. Food: 2/5 The TEENY drinks are $7.50-$9. It's okay, but I would only ever come back here if there was another collab. We got the $9 pink guava matcha drink. It is very sweet. I've made this at home before, and I didn't pay $9 pre-tax and -tip. Service: 4/5 Honestly, everyone was really nice! It felt pretty embarrassing to be waiting in line so freaking long for a Summer Fridays collab, but they all treated the 500+ people in line like humans :) The bar is low but it was very thoroughly met! Atmosphere: 3/5 I can't give that reliable of a rating for the atmosphere because it was chaos galore for the event, but the line was very well managed! I don't know if it's the Little While staff or Summer Fridays staff I should be thanking for that. I think they do an actual matcha ceremony if you order it? I would recommend someone try that at least once because I didn't and I probably won't. Final rating: 3/5

They offer sit down service too. We didn't need refills or ordered anything else but if we did, he would have helped us. Side note: I asked if regular coffee comes with free refill and it doesn't. :( Stand in line and order your drink or pastry of your choice. I ordered a cup of coffee and butter crissoant. My friends ordered a cappucino, matcha latte, kaya kouign amann and chocolate almond croissant. We sat outside on the patio. The tables were small but we made do. The coffee was nice and refreshing and my friends enjoyed their drink and pastry. The pastries were a bit oily. I believe the kaya kouign amann was overly buttery and sweet. It was still good but not something I would order in the future. Overall, I'd return again.

They start putting wristbands on people around 7 AM for the first 500 people. BUT do not worry because you will still receive some samples (while supplies last) for the rest of the afternoon if you didn't make it to the first 500. To qualify getting a bag you have to buy at least one, of the three, collab items (Pink Guava Matcha, Vanilla Creme Nitro, and Pistachio Butter Croissant with Raspberry) My favorite was the Pink Guava Matcha, and the guava was not too strong. I was not really a fan of the Vanilla Creme Nitro, it was not very sweet, so if you are not a fan of super sweet drinks this is for you! The store itself was super cute and the drinks came out really quick. Little While 3019 Adams Avenue San Diego, CA 92116 $$ (~$10-20) street parking meters (very limited and hard to find, recommend setting aside 15-20 minutes to find parking)
I'd been wanting to try Little While and finally stopped by on Saturday. The long line proved it was a popular choice! I waited around 15 minutes in the line until I was able to order, and the coffees come out quick! I went with the Pandan Earl Grey Latte since the coffee flavors caught my eye more than the matcha. Before ordering, I asked about the sweetness level and was told no adjustments were needed. Luckily, the coffee still came through nicely, which is important in a flavored latte. To that, I added a guava cream cheese pastry. The guava filling was strong and went great with the coffee! The price point is definitely a little more for the size, though. I loved the café's minimalist design and warm, neutral palette. Although tiny, the space felt cozy and inviting, making it the perfect spot to relax for a short while! I'd come here again, despite the wait times, I think their coffee is impressive.
Formerly Hawthorn coffee, this place got an upgrade! VERY polished and sophisticated drinks/pastries with an Asian twist. I got the Calamansi iced latte and it was incredible! Seating is limited so I could tell they were trying to get us to leave fairly quickly after getting our drinks. The servers came over twice to check if we wanted anything else (which is nice but we just sat down). Then he came back to clear our plates pretty quickly. I loved the reusable dish-ware. So spoiled with amazing coffee shops in SD.

I tried a coconut croissant which was not actually a croissant and it was decent. I ordered the guava matcha which was very pricey as it cost me almost 10$ for my one drink. (9.69 which is crazy) The drink was good but for 10$ it was a bit expensive.
Came here on at 8:30am Saturday morning, and there was already a line out the door. The line did move fairly fast. The inside is pretty small but clean. They do have seating outside as well. Their iced vanilla latte was good. Their honey butter toast was super tasty. No wonder people were leaving with boxes of their pastries.
I stayed here for a little while longer to appreciate the space and enjoy the drinks. AMBIANCE Warm intimate space with a constant flux of visitors lined up for their drinks and pastries. There are several small tables and a few multi-person tables indoors and outdoors. SERVICE Staff checked up on patrons dining in, which I appreciated. DRINK 5/5 It's Clearly Ube - Clarified Milk Punch Cold brew concentrate, pineapple, orange, coconut, pandan, and ube over a large rock with a pandan leaf. Best enjoyed for here. (Distinctly purple and tart, fragrantly aromatic w pandan and ube - this drink is a labor of love) 4.5/5 Calamansi Cream Latte Espresso, calamansi, vanilla, Maldon sea salt, and milk. Available iced only. (Almost like an orange creamsicle) 4/5 POGsicle Cold brew concentrate, POG juice, and housemade vanilla syrup, shaken and served over ice, finished with a dried orange slice. Incredible coffee spot! The line is out the door and for good reason. Make sure you get there early. The matcha is delicious, I love how they mix it with coconut water for extra flavor and hydration. Great cold brew. The pastries are absolutely incredible, works of art. I loved the weekend-only chocolate almond croissant.
A nice little coffee shop on Adams Avenue with a cozy, laid-back atmosphere that makes it a great place to relax. Parking is pretty limited. Their menu offers all the coffee shop classics, along with specialty lattes, matcha drinks, and pastries. I ordered the iced Honey Cinnamon Latte with oat milk, and it was delicious. It was simple, smooth, and had the perfect balance of honey and cinnamon without being overly sweet. What really stood out to me was the service. The staff was incredibly welcoming and friendly, and they checked in on us throughout our visit to make sure everything was going well. That's not something you experience at most coffee shops, and I really appreciated the genuine hospitality. Overall, if you're looking for a cozy neighborhood café with great coffee and exceptional customer service, Little While is definitely worth checking out.

I asked about the complimentary postcards they had on the counter, they were super nice and let me have one. Thank you! Drink 3/5 -Matcha with coconut water $7.5 Super hydrating and refreshing, like drinking iced water after chewing gum; strong matcha. However, I don't think I would repurchase due to its price for the portion. Ambiance 3/5 -Beautiful interior, every tasteful design detail seems to have been very intentional which I love. Space is limited but very cozy. I visited during a busy Sunday afternoon and with the upbeat music, it felt a little overwhelming.
I will gladly wait in a line out the door for Little While. The personal, friendly service and amazing drinks and bites make it worth it. There is ample indoor and outdoor patio seating. The cafe interior is tastefully decorated. Coming from the Bay Area, I admittedly have high expectations for matcha and pastries. I was very impressed with everything we ordered. The maple in the LW Matcha Latte added just the right amount of sweetness, and the coconut water lets the matcha shine. My husband enjoyed his Matcha Latte as well. Bonus points to Little While for NOT up-charging for dairy free milk alternatives! I was eyeing the Kaya Kouign Amann and Sweet Corn Concha; very glad we got both. The concha was pillowy, with the corn flavor really coming through in the custard. I liked that it was not too sweet. I loved the unique addition of kaya (pandan coconut cream custard) in the kouign amann. Can't wait to come back!
Came for an event (Little while x sephora x summer fridays) and the staff did a wonderful job putting on this event. Staff members were giving out water to the line for free, answering questions and they even had a separate stand set up to help customers that weren't there for the collab. Really great customer service. The drink was good, overpriced but good. The shop was also very cute and well decorated with some places to sit. This event is 3 days long (friday saturday and sunday). if you are planning on coming for the event, they give out 500 free totes with purchase of collab menu item. This includes their guava matcha ($9), vanilla gesha nitro ($8) and pistachio raspberry croissant ($7.5). the tote bags were random, you did not get to choose. I arrived at 5:45am and ordered at 8:25am with approximately 100 people in line before me. They do not pre make the drinks. plan accordingly!! I came to little while for the collaboration with summer fridays. I ordered the guava matcha... WOW! It was delicious!!!!! I also met the manager and owner I believe and they both were amazing and very welcoming. The staff taking our orders were fantastic and very very friendly and sweet. However, the lady calling the drinks was very rude and honestly made me feel really bad when I asked her a question. I think this place is worth a visit and maybe you'll have a better experience. read more

Little while's coffee is dialed in and so so good. I finally was able to come early on a weekday and sit in and enjoy the dope playlist and the lovely pour over. I got the Colombia carbonic honey peach pour over which was MP ($12) which was on the pricier side but it was just perfect. The cortado was also really delicious. The pastry favorite here for me is the Kaya kouign aman, don't sleep on it. Street parking only here and there's usually a line but the service is very friendly. read more
I went here at the crack of dawn (7am) on a Friday and tell me why there were already like 10 parties ahead of us!! It was when they were still newly opened so maybe that's why? Interior was absolutely stunning, but there isn't much seating, so don't bank on dining in. I got the LW matcha latte and it is a MUST TRY. Definitely the star of the show. Ngl I was so skeptical about coconut water and matcha but this changed my mind. I think it's actually one of my top matchas now mayhaps. Oh and the vanilla cold foam makes it even better. I also tried the everything pull apart and I thought it was unique but tbh I probably wouldn't get it again because it was pricey and tastes just alright. I think it would've been better if it was fresh and warm. read more
What a cute spot to hang out, read a book, catch up with friends, or get some work done! It was packed when I visited, but the service was still quick and friendly. I ordered the double matcha, which was creamy, sweet, and exactly what I was hoping for! The guava cream cheese croissant completely stole the show- it may honestly be one of the best I've had! The pastry was perfectly flaky and crisp, while the filling was rich without being overly sweet. Parking can be a little tricky since there's no dedicated lot, but street parking is available if you're patient. You'll definitely want to stay for a Little While and enjoy the drinks, pastries, and cozy atmosphere :) read more
While we mourn the loss of Hawthorn Coffee, Little While has stepped up to take its place, and step up they did. The space is cute, warm, and welcoming (albeit a little small), and the quality is top-notch. COFFEE: We go out of our way to visit shops that also roast their own beans, and there are only a few shops in San Diego that we visit that don't roast, with the requirement being that they know how to properly dial in their shots. Little White hits both checkboxes: roaster, with well dialed shots. Aside from their espresso by itself, their lattes and other milk-based drinks are also delicious - creative flavors, and well balanced - not too sweet, but also the right amount of actual flavor, and great milk texture. PASTRIES: So far, we've tried the almond chocolate croissant (perfect amount of almond butter and perfectly crisp), and tomato and seaweed jam pain suisse (lovely tomato flavor, well balanced by the seaweed jam and the parm and furikake top). read more

Super friendly! I went on one of the most busiest days. They had a collab with Summer Fridays and Sephora. The lines went around the block. Even than every employee took the time to talk to customers. Made the wait feel more pleasant. I purchased the salted maple latte which was very good, not too sweet or milky. I could taste the coffee which I love. Dark chocolate croissant was so good, the dark chocolate complemented the croissant, the chocolate wasn't overly sweet. As for the collab menu we had one of each. Pistachio Raspberry Croissant- very decadent, definitely something you can share. Iced Pink Guava Matcha Latte- loved this their matcha is very good and lastly Iced Vanilla Nitro + Vanilla Cloud- this was good but a little more on the bitter side. It wasn't bad, it's more of a taste preference. Overall my experience was great and will be returning. read more
Little While is popular high quality bakery and coffee shop located in Normal Heights. It has elite ownership that also is responsible for Pop Pie Company and Stella Jeans Ice Cream. Little While had a soft opening in December of 2025 and the grand opening February 2026. The line was out the door when we arrived on a Saturday morning at 9:17 am. We were fortunate to grab one of the limited seats. We ordered: - Vanilla Latte Iced - Matcha Latte Iced - Honey Butter Pastry - Chocolate Croissant The coffees were high quality and smooth. The matcha was well whisked and balanced. The honey butter pastry was a knockout standout pastry, albeit a little stiffly priced at $9. As a bonus the aesthetic of the pastry was spot on. The quality makes this shop worth the wait, I would definitely come back to try some of the other drinks and pastries. read more

The service was fast, attentive, and the servers were kind There was a slightly long line on a Saturday morning, however the cashiers worked hard to get out orders There is minimal seating outside. Finally came to try this place! And what good timing, a very short line on a saturday AM. I want to come back and try all their things. Alas tried their clarified ube cold brew-- which looks , tastes and feels like a cocktail- complete with pandan garnish and a big ol ice cube. It was delicious, and it's only available for sit down service, probably best, do you can savor it. Love the pastry options- sweet and savory. Took home a guava croissant and a sweet corn concha. read more

Came here on a Saturday afternoon around 2pm and there was a line. It was busy and loud inside so it was pretty cool. Normally, I would've given this place 4 stars, but there was a fly in the pastry case. Maybe they can't control this, or maybe just put a sliding door on their side to help prevent flies from coming going on the food. The drinks were really good though. My wife got the honey cinnamon latte on ice with oat milk with little cloud on the side. read more
Thought the coffee was good, the pastries were okay they tasted very similar (French onion pastry and Japanese curry bread). The bread texture itself was great. For the coffee, I got an iced pandan earl grey latte and also tried the hot vanilla latte. I liked them because they weren't overwhelmingly sweet and you can taste the coffee flavor through the flavors. I'd come back for the coffee, not sure about the pastries. Also the place and tables there are pretty small, if you're going with more than 2 people not the most ideal place of you want to enjoy your coffee there. Overall service was great and everyone was friendly. read more
I went to little while around 1:30 on a Friday and unfortunately were all sold out of pastries. I tried their Matcha cloud seasonal drink, and it was delicious! The service was great and the vibes were 10/10. It is on the pricier side and after tip and tax it was $10.15. A bit steep for the size, it was filled mostly with ice (as you can see in the photo ice is popping out of the drink) but it was delicious. If you go, ask for light ice! I would check this place out if you're in the area and ok with spending $9-10 for a small but delicious drink. Parking is rough as to be expected with the area. Interior is pretty small as well, all the tables were full when I got there so I had to take my drink to go. I would like to rate this spot higher but I can't justify a $10 drink that was mostly ice and finished in 5 sips. If it was $8 this place would be 4 stars. read more
Usually when I walk in this area I expect the massive line to be for An's dry cleaning but I hadn't realized that this coffee shop was the reason so many new people were in line. After looking it over I decided to give it a shot to see what the hype was about. The shop is aesthetic with nice indoor lighting as well as seating which were all full when I got inside. I wasn't sure what to order but the cashier was nice enough to recommend me the pandan earl grey latte. They also serve matcha and had a variety of beautiful pastries that I wish I ordered but decided against. After trying the coffee outside I will say that the coffee taste is potent but unfortunately I feel like the pandan/earl grey flavor was extremely light. It was still a tasty coffee but the other flavors didn't come through for me. Maybe it was just an off order but I don't think I'd order that same drink again. If I were to come back I would try the pastries/other flavors instead! read more
Cute coffee shop on Adams Ave. I got the salted maple latte with oat milk and it was very delicious. They offer a good assortment of pastries as well. Super friendly staff. Good amount of seating (though might be competitive on a weekend). All street parking. Mix of paid and neighborhood. read more

Came here last month on a random Thursday, after lunch for some coffee & pastries. Luckily, we beat the rush when we came in because a few minutes later, the line was out the door! We only waited a little over 5 mins for our order, so not bad at all! We ordered the pandan earl grey latte & the salted maple latte, both iced. We liked both but if I had to recommend one, I'd pick the pandan earl grey as it's more unique and isn't as widely offered at other cafes. A variety of pastries available including banana cream-filled concha, croissants (guava cream cheese, almond, French onion, ham & cheese), etc. I chose the guava cream cheese croissant per the cashier's recommendation, and I enjoyed it as well! It was a guava jam mixed with cream cheese on a flaky croissant. Friendly staff. Nice interior design with light wood accents. Somewhat limited seating with just 1 row of bench seating & a few tables by the windows. We got our order to-go, so other people could sit. They also sold merch (hats, cups, mugs, t-shirts, kettles), coffee, and matcha. Would definitely come back here again! read more
Off the bat, I love that this place offers a slow bar. I'm huge on pourover and light roasted coffee so this is really up my alley. Wanted something a little stronger so I ordered the 1 and 1 with their house blend. Espresso was pulled right and tasted excellent in the cortado. My friend ordered the Edwin Noreña carbonic honey peach co-ferment Pourover. I tasted it-not my thing, but he loved it. We'll be back! Great service and definitely a cozy place to chill on a Friday afternoon. read more

The cappuccino I had was wonderful. Seating can be hard to come by if you're coming in as a group, but the window seats are perfect and worth the wait if you have the time. Good, fast wifi. Chill and friendly staff, too. Parking is the only downside but we enjoyed our time. read more
Terrific new coffee spot with great drinks and pastries, from the creator's of Stella Jean's and Pop Pie Co. I had this bookmarked for our latest SD visit and it was well worth the stop. There are a few seats outside with more inside. We got there before there was a long line. The menu offers up espresso drinks, pourovers, seasonal drinks, as well as matcha, Thai tea, and chai. The pastry selections looked delicious; I wanted one of everything. I had the Ube Leche Flan pastry (masarap!) and a Honey Cinnamon Latte. Both were great and it was so nice to be able to sit inside and enjoy them without rushing. This is a terrific addition to our list of coffee places to visit when we're in town. read more
Great flavor! The Pandan Earl Grey Latte was so good - strong coffee with a great flavor that wasn't too sweet. The pastries are unique and delicious, I always appreciate a unique/can't find it anywhere menu. We tried a variety: a Japanese Curry croissant, a French onion croissant, a banana cream concha and the Kaya Kouign Amman and none of them disappointed. The kouign amman had the best texture - a perfect crunch on the outside, not hard or too soft and I have no clue what or who Kaya is but she's amazing. read more
