Was recommended this place from a friend of a friend after hearing about what a great job they did on his hitch for a bike rack. Was about $230 to get my hitch installed on an Acura RSX, but they did an excellent job and it's super solid. I have an expensive mtn bike, and didn't want to trust one of the cheaper install options. TL Central actually welded the hitch to my chassis, and repainted it black afterwards to make it less conspicuous. Even though this place was super busy, they were very friendly, even suggested local places to get some food while I waited. Highly recommended. read more

I had issues with these guys 2 years ago when they put a hitch on my van but they were able to fix everything to make it right. I got a new vehicle so I decided to give them another chance. They failed on cost, schedule and quality..... Nice people but their process fails on the 3 things that I care about. I brought my new Durango in to get a quote on a hitch and make an appt. They quoted $400 and 1.5 to 2 hours. I left my car at 8:30 the next Friday and they revised their quote to 2.5 to 3 hours. I'm not sure why they missed the estimate the first time. After about 2.5 hours they called and said it was harder than they thought and it would cost another $90 but they would be done in an hour. I'm not sure why they didn't catch that when I brought it in for an estimate the week before and explained I had a 5 pin hitch connector. I show up after 90 minutes and they aren't done. It is now after noon so it pretty much screwed my whole day. I caused a fuss and they were able to finish it up in about 15 minutes. Unfortunately, I get in the car and the keyless entry doesn't work. The door is supposed to auto unlock when you grab the handle and you have the key on you. I get error messages when I finally get in saying that I needed to have my keyless entry serviced. I went back in and they had the mechanic come out and talk to me. I asked him to fix it and he had no idea what to do. He didn't want to look at it again and suggested I take it to the dealer. ARRRGHHH I don't have all day!!!! The mechanic shook my hand and said thanks. huh?? He knew I was upset but he was lost. I went to the dealer and they didn't have time to look at it. They said that this wouldn't be covered by my new car warranty because it was probably something Torklift had done. I had to get off early the next Monday for an appointment at the Dodge dealer. I had just wasted my Friday off waiting for Torklift. On Monday, the dealer used its error code crunching computer to find that Torklift had unplugged the antenna which is why it couldn't see my key. They were able to fix it and because the dealer had recommended Torklift they decided to waive the $75 fee for fixing it. I don't think Torklift is going to get many more recommendations from the Dodge Dealer. You won't get one from me either. Fail on cost, schedule and quality read more

I was shopping for a hitch for my Hyundai Santa Fe and stopped in to talk to these folks. The price they offered me was a little bit higher than U-Haul was quoting so I wanted to take some time to think about it. During that time, I came across the proverbial "offer I couldn't refuse" and bought a hitch for less than half what anyone was charging but I had to install it myself. Not a problem really, it's just 4 bolts and I have a well-equipped garage. When the hitch arrived, the shipper had been less than kind with the box and when I opened it, one of the spacer washers needed for the installation was missing. On a whim, I stopped by Torklift with one of the washers and asked if they had any of them. The woman at the counter took the washer and went out in the shop to ask. A minute later she was back with the twin of my washer and said "no-charge". While I might not have used them to purchase my hitch, you can bet I'll give them first whack when I ever need any hitch/trailer/bike rack purchases in the future. Wife needs a bike rack on her 2012 Prius v. Truck has Yakima swing daddy that works well but needs a 2" hitch. Search around and seems torklift is the only place that makes such a thing for a Prius v. $250 is steep for a hitch but we order one anyway with option to pick up in Kent, wa (where they are made.) web page suggests its a 7-10 day wait for hitch to be ready. Next day I receive email that hitch is available so I swing by to pick up (25 minute drive from Seattle.) very helpful person explains that email was a mistake, hitch is only "almost done", she rustles some folks to finish it and she hands it over in less than 20minutes. Hitch is very well made, powder coated and welded from thick steel plate. Includes all hardware zinc coated and good choices of washers (double flat washer and lock washer, nylock where appropriate). Wife and I installed the hitch this afternoon. Instructions were very clear and it took just under an hour. Everything fit perfectly. No need to raise the car. Have a good work light. Was difficult to remove exhaust from hanger (big flathead screwdriver). Used 17mm socket to remove existing bolts. You need twin 19mm sockets to install and one must be deep. Also 12mm wrenches. I lubed everything withi locktite blue. Hitch has 350 pound tongue weight because it hangs from secondary "straps". Very solid! Seriously nice hitch with factory perfect install fit. I'm still not happy about the price but do feel good buying from a local fabricator. Customer service wasn't needed because the product is great. read more

Called for a quote to have my hitch installed, was told $100 and an hour. 90 minutes later I was told the job was done but the wiring kit was still in my vehicle. That's apparently an additional $100. I can't very well leave the job half done so I don't have a choice. Terrible customer experience, will definitely not do business with this dishonest business again. UPDATE: They ended up waiving the labor charge and I've increased the rating to 3 stars. I was quoted 1 hour but was there for 3 and I'm still not pleased with the deceptive quote. I don't understand why anybody would want to have a hitch installed but no wiring? read more

This is the place to do business with folks!!! I'd give them 10+ stars. We were packed and ready to hitch up our 37 ft fifth wheel and found our hitch head was bent and would not lock. Companies I called either didn't have or were too busy to check for a new hitch. We only needed a new head but they said we needed to buy a whole complete hitch. Torklift Central had one and offered to hold in case we couldn't find one closer to home. We made the trip to Kent and in 30 minutes we had our new hitch head bought and installed. This is a true family business run by caring people! We can't thank Jonny, Drew and Karen enough for their help in our time of need. The men in the office are polite but not customer oriented. I drove my car there for work which was contracted between Home Health Solutions and Torque. The work order clearly stated this was a job for Home Health Solutions, my name was no where in the work order. But evidently Tourque did not set up billing with Home Health Solutions so they held my car until I paid the bill for Home Health. They also failed to complete the job and left live wires, taped up, but live, by my electric scooter lift. A very unsafe place for live, but taped up wires, as the lift is frequently moving and the area is frequently wet due to movement of the lift in and out of the car. Follow up call from Johnny, Torklift Mgr, corrected all issues. Thank you for all your assistance. I would highly recommend Tourklift Central. read more

Picked up a new trailer and my existing hitch had too much drop. Needed to replace it - fast - as we were on the road for the weekend. Then realized my hitch pin lock keys had gone with my old trailer. Was recommended to Torklift, stopped in, and amidst the chaos of a busy late afternoon rush, they were able to quickly tackle the hitch pin lock, set me up with a new hitch, transfer the ball, and get me out the door in like 20 minutes. Ordered the Eco Hitch for a 2018 Outback. What drew me to this hitch is that it is bolt on and the only thing visible is the receiver once installed. Ordering, shipping, everything seamless. Installation instructions were basic and PERFECT! Little scary taking apart the rear bumper on a new car but everything was as advertised! Also, I could not believe this, they offer free soda from a machine. Oh, did I mention they also do great service. Update, 7/30/17 After I posted my review, I received a phone call from Torklift management, expressing concern about the problems I previously described, and wanting a chance to make things better. I explained I had already adjusted the brakes myself, and I did not see how the bed holes could be fixed without a new truck bed - which was obviously cost prohibitive. Jonny explained they would like to see it and have a chance to propose a solution. In addition, he assured me he had spoken to the entire staff about the issues, and it should not happen again. To make a long story short, we met and he proposed re-welding the bed holes and re-cutting them to be properly centered. He then wanted to remove my existing bedliner and have it re-sprayed. This would be a four or five day process. We scheduled the appointment, and when I picked up my truck, I was very impressed. The holes were perfect, with no indication of any repair, and the bedliner had been removed and resprayed, with excellent results. I am now very happy with the final results. So much so, that I had them install Torklift A7310 StableLoad adapters for towing my 12k fifth wheel. The difference made by these load adapters is subtle but helpful, especially on uneven roads. Bottom line: I am pleased with the final results of all three jobs, and I appreciate the extra effort from Torklift, all to be certain the job was done right. I will use them again in the future, and I am comfortable recommending them to others. read more

A lot of things have changed since my last review of Torklift Central. In June of 2015 I was not a happy camper and I stick by my complaints. Now it's 2019 and I've softened quite a bit :) Here's the story Last year I went to a car show in Oregon and bought a hitch for my car. I asked that they will call it at their Kent location because I work down the street and I was planning on having them install it. They ran my credit card and marked it for will call, but accidently mailed it to my billing address many hours away. The issue was quickly corrected and they really went out of their way to get the part picked up and returned. I never did pick up that hitch and instead completely forgot about it until this year when I signed up for the same car show. I stopped in to inquire about the hitch I bought a year ago and dealt with two women at the counter. I would have had no hard feelings if there was nothing they could do. They both did some quick research while I waited and after a quick call decided to give one to me. This may not sound like a big deal, but I had no receipt and if asked I would have had to dig through year old credit card statements for proof. They set up an appointment to have it installed and went through my wiring options. The appointment went without any issues and they did a nice job. My main issue in my last review was their employees or at least the one's I dealt with. I truly belie that it is no longer an issue. For all I know they could have been having a bad day or maybe I was just having a bad day. The woman who helped me really seemed to know everything there was about their products and the second woman helping had a "trainee" sign on her computer which could have fooled me because she was awesome as well. read more

I tired to order a part online several times and their website repeatedly says, "can't save address, please check your information". Finally I called and was told that the only option was to order through the website. When I explained that the website was not working, they tried it and had the same problem. End result, I simply had to use a different vendor to get the part. The person I spoke to was nice enough, but for a company to simply refuse to do business when their website is broken is pretty sad. My suggestions would be just start with a different vendor who has the ability to sell a product. :/ read more

When I went in there and began speaking to the employee, Johnny, I realized I had not gathered sufficient information about whether or not the hitch would work for my vehicle. He was extremely professional, providing me a considerable amount of information to consider. Rather than simply pushing to close the sale, he let me know about everything I had to think about, in order to be certain that the hitch would work for me. Good looking hitches. I chatted with Jacob about their pricing. Their competitors are much cheaper but there are pros and cons to each relative to each other. Jacob was not very helpful. His replies were short and he almost seemed annoyed that I questioned the price. The ecohitch line is only available through the manufacture. I wish the company would work with other retailers so consumers can have more options. I had my credit card out and ready but I will order a competitors hitch. Update: Thank you for your response. I communicated with a Jacob on your website chat feature. He stated he was head of the ecohitch division. Please understand that I cannot verify his employment or responsibilities but I assure you that was the name listed. I am confident in not changing the rating. Your company does not seem sincere with regards to its customers. I purchased the Curt hitch from Amazon for $116 with a $10 coupon shipped for free to my front door. $106 vs $275. I also don't have to cut my bumper cover. If you are charging a premium for the eco in ecohitch then I think you are misguided. read more

Got there 20 min early and they took my truck 15 min early. Said it would take 30-40 minutes. Hour and a half later the truck hasn't been touched. Had to leave due to other appointments without the hitch being installed. Completely wasted an hour and a half of my day because I was scheduled over a lunch break. One thing I can't tolerate is having my time wasted, so I would not recommend this to anyone nor will I go back read more

They sold me parts to install a tow hitch . But also said to come back another day and they could fabricate the toe hitch. This was 2019. This year 2020 I went to get the fabrication done and was told they cannot do the job because they cannot warranty the hitch. So I bought parts for nothing and now I need to take the hitch to another shop that will do the work. I would not recommend this company. They wanted to sell me a high end new hitch after selling me parts to hook up my hitch. They just want your money. They are not the torklift I used to know. We purchased a motorhome and needed to set it up with a tow package. We went in to talk about the package and cost. Dan was very professional and explained the various options and made sure we understood. He also discussed with us about the requirements in various states for a "brake buddy". He wanted to know what our plans were and what kind of car we were towing. He set us up with an appointment for two days; one for the motor home and one for the car and motorhome. Dan then spent time with us showing us and walking us through how to hook up and why each element of the tow package was in place. He explained the safety features and made sure we understood before we left. He also made sure we know how to access the video on u-tube that was the same process of hook-up (there were some small differences). He also told us about how to prevent theft of the package from the motorhome and from the car. Again he was wonderful and patient. Jonny how is the shop foreman is wonderful also--he demands excellence and gets it from his staff. When all was said and done, we couldn't tell any work had been done, the motorhome was clean, they cleaned up any debris from drilling, wires etc. Two weeks after we had the package installed, Dan called to tell us he had some safety locks in that we should consider for the tow package. We returned the following day and he greeted us by name and had the locks and the invoice ready. I strongly recommend them for anyone who needs to consider a tow package or to haul anything. They are professionals, do some manufacturing on site, and they are BUSY, but never make anyone feel rushed and you feel like you are the only customer they have. We never had to wait but a few minutes. The customer service is excellent, the product is excellent and to the specifications needed, and while maybe a little more pricey than other places, I would have still done the package with Torklift. These people go above and beyond. I was referred to them by a trusted friend who swore by their craftsmanship. I went to see them and they were extremely helpful, both on the phone and in person. I made an appointment and dropped off my car (2008 Subaru WRX). Unfortunately for them and myself, my rear bumper was out of the ordinary. When the hitch was installed, it hung too low and the person who installed it was not satisfied. I believe any other company would have collected my money and sent me on my way. They were not happy with the fit and had the decency to tell me this. They took the measurements of my bumper and started from scratch. I came back a week later (I live in Seattle) and they reevaluated their measurements to make sure it was up to their standards. Not only did they hold themselves to their own superior standards, they compensated me for my time in a HUGE way. I was happy to come back just because I wanted this hitch to be done right. Not only was it done in true profession but the fact that they threw money back at me for my time is truly above and beyond. I can't be happy enough with this company!! read more

We recently received a Tent Trailer from my in-laws and I needed some work done to the hitch and lights hook up on my truck. I was not able to locate anything in my area so I called my uncle and he referred me to this place. Man what service! No appointment needed and the work only took an hour when i was told it would take two. The work was done as requested. When I got back home the hitch was a little off and the tent trailer was not level when attached to the truck. I called and they apologized and told me to bring it back and they would fix it at no charge. Not only did they not charge me for the fix but they also gave me a discount on the overall work done as an "we're sorry" and time spent coming back. Now I call that Customer Service!!! read more

Fantastic customer service. I had trouble with the wiring of my trailer - I walked into Torklift Central without an appointment and was pleasantly surprised by the customer service. Despite their busy schedule, they found the time to immediately troubleshoot the wiring problem. Given our emergent need of a quick fix, they offered to repair the issue immediately. The two customer service employees also called other moving services in the area and helped us reserve a truck should the repair require more time than expected. My customer service experience at Torklift Central vastly exceeded my expectations. I wholeheartedly recommend this business. I cannot say enough good things about Forklift products. I am on my 7th set of camper tie downs (we trade trucks often - don't ask). When I put the first set on, we have always used Stable Loads with them, it really showed how well designed and made they were. One of the best features of this company is that they keep improving. I just received a set of the Talons, and they are the BEST! Lightweight, aluminum and a great move forward in design and function. We did get the finishing kit, it was another great idea they had. I have no connection, other than as a customer, but I will always be one as long as I need anything they make. it is a quality product, great customer service, and fairly priced. read more

I have a 3 axle boat trailer with slightly worn brakes. They told me 5 times they would have it done "today". They knew that I was going on vacation so had me hostage. Its a common line that companies doing brakes say "we can't turn them any farther, need to replace the disks". They told me that they could remove up to .062" from each side of the disk. I'm a machinist and know that .020-.030" would clean up all of the disks. The way Torklift does it they always replace the disks and calipers (just because they always buy them that way), and maybe because they always take advantage of us? I showed them that I could buy the same kit (same brand!) on Amazon for $120 less than they were charging me!! Torklift Central charged me almost $3,000 to replace the brakes on this trailer that I bought for $2800! I can get my F-250 truck brakes done including spindles and disks for under $1,000. I was then told " sorry we are to busy to take a look at your pipe . please leave it so that when we have time we can get you a quote"... I went to Torklift to get a new Winnebago WD170S lifted. They did an awesome job plus suggested adding a skid plate for low riding black tank valve. I am really pleased with their staff and work. So easy to work with and they really know hitches, axles and all things mechanical. I will use them again next year to add a custom rack on the back of my trailer. Can't say enough good things about these folks. It was really refreshing to discuss the work order with people who really understood the issues and possible solutions. I took my truck in to tork lift in kent. I was quoted a price and they had me sign a promise to pay paper with the agreed price listed. Well, while I waited I overheard a young kid talking to a woman about his huge commission check he made. So I was naturally interested so I listened on, wouldn't you? The kid went on and on instruckting the older gal to get every penny from the customer and upsell and she will make a "fat" commission check. I was getting nervous as I listened I asked the kid about the controller box I was havin installed and come to find out, he only told me about the highest priced one, there were actually several less expensive ones I could had purchased---if he had told me. I was only advised and told about the 200$ one! To make it worse, when the two hour mark rolled around. I was told the insation would be two hours, I asked him and he said rudely it would be a nether hour and a half to two hours and it would be 160$ more for a modual my truck needed! I had signed a paper agreeing to the price allready, I was extremely suspicious. Probally a upsell for his commission check! I asked they show me the part installed in my truck and I was refused. I will never step threw the doors of tork lift, or tl central again. I looked everywhere on my truck and never found the part. When I serviced my truck, the techs saw no modual. I was ripped off. Take my warning don't go to tork lift. There are many other businesses that can do the same work and not rip one off. A lesson learned for me read more

I cannot rate these guys high enough. I had a trailer that had been to so many shops and the install of hydraulic brakes was always incorrect. These guys custom fabricated a mount, rewired the entire rig and mounted everything better than factory. Mike was the name of the guy who did my job and is probably the most talented in his profession. The bill was only a couple hundred bucks I could not believe it for the amount of attention to detail I got. These guys are the best and I am a life long customer going forward!! read more
