If you like big juicy burgers and a BUNCH OF FRIES this is the place to go! Simple menu so ordering is easy. Spicy is my favorite but their regular is good too! The walls are decorated with street signs and is fascinating to see all of them and they have TVs with most recent games playing and you can smell the food as it's being cooked! My father got E Coli after eating their Philly cheesesteak. He was pooping blood for 2 weeks and couldn't eat food. Because of this he lost 15 pounds due to his inability to eat. He had to go to urgent care and the emergency room to get antibiotics costing around $2000. As soon as he finished his food, his body rejected it. I Ordered a triple spicy burger as well and all of the patties were burnt and the bun was soggy and mushy. "Really..." -- That's probably the first word that comes to mind when people see this little burger shack located in Stafford. I would probably consider Tornado Burger a diamond in the rough because I find their spicy burgers one of a kind. Out of all the burgers I've eaten and become a fan of, none have a burger where the actually patty is spicy and flavorful. The burgers here are legit. Every bite is delicious albeit it can be on the greasy size at times. The burgers here are like a mixture of P. Terry's and In-n-Out, but it has its own flare to it. If you want my recommendation, you absolutely need to get the Spicy Double Meat burger with cheese. Yes, it may sound like a heart attack, but what's life without taking any risk. It is flavorful in every way you can think of. Besides the food, the service is relatively quick and the staff is very low key and keep to themselves. The store may not be the most appealing to the eye but who cares, they have shelves full of magazines to keep your eyes busy while your mouth salivates as you wait for the burgers and fries to come out. I really hope that this place is overwhelmingly successful, so that they'll expand and open up a location closer in to town. As it is, it was totally worth driving out to Stafford. The burger patties are of the thin griddled variety, so if that's a dealbreaker, you can stop reading right now. That's generally my preference, although sometimes I like to have a nice, thick, medium-rare burger. In general, though, so long as it's not dry, I prefer the increased ratio of char to meat that you get with a thin patty. As has been noted in other reviews, you can opt for the spicy version (I did) which has garlic and jalapeños actually ground up into the meat for an extra 25 cents per patty. Do it, unless you can't handle heat at all. The flavor is great with a nice little kick. They've perfected the time on the grill, and seem to have some sort of sauce that they use, perhaps a seasoned au jus, that prevents the burger from being too dry. In fact, this is one of the juicier burgers I've had in a while. The fries are hand-cut, almost shoestring thin, and fried perfectly. They have cheesesteaks (both steak and chicken) on the menu, but I doubt I'll ever try them because the burger is honestly that good. It's a fast food joint and a fair drive out if you live in the loop, but if you're a burger aficionado you owe it to yourself to head down here and try it out. read more

Get the double spicy cheeseburger with special sauce. Add mushrooms for $0.75, grilled onions for $0.25, and $0.25-$0.75 for other toppings that I don't care about. My total came out to be $5-$6 for just the burger + the toppings that I chose. The burgers are tasty and reasonably priced. Quality/taste is comparable to Five Guys, IMO. The patties are thin and freshly grilled. I appreciate that the meat doesn't taste like overprocessed crap dripping in grease. The service is fast. Interior isn't anything fancy. Great spot for both burgers and philly cheesesteaks. For the burgers, what separates this place is that 1. You can get the burger "spicy" and they have onions, garlic, and jalapeños ground into the meat. 2. Everything is cooked to order. The cheesesteaks are a very good option for Houston. Not as good as Pappa Genos but probably my second favorite in Houston right now. (This place is actually in Stafford but worth the drive for even people who don't live in the area) I've had both the beef and the chicken philly and they both delivered. You can also get with Whiz as your cheese option if you don't want to do the standard provolone. Other options on the menu as well, but highly recommend this place for the burgers and the cheesesteaks. One sidenote on the burgers. It's best to get a double. You can order a combo, like the single or double cheeseburger with fries and a drink. They also offer a spicy or regular option for the burgers. Tornado Burger seemed a good place to try when we were hit with a burger craving. The burgers are a solid good but there are some things I noticed about the texture that, while not taking anything away from the flavor, was still unexpected. The texture was, for lack of a better descriptive word, smooth. Smooth as in the meat had a firmness but no texture. Though not rubbery when chewed, the bite and outside of the meat had a slight rubbery feel. It reminded me of when I was a very young child and like most children would do odd things and tried to see if I could bite in half a small, soft, bouncy ball that was already partially broken in half. The meat appeared as if it was ground a little different so perhaps that was the reason. The flavor was still nice, unlike the small rubber ball. It tasted meaty and well seasoned. The items we tried were the double meat, double cheese mushroom, grilled onion and Swiss burger, the double meat double cheese regular, the gyro and chicken tenders. The burger, again, was flavorful even with the different texture. The grilled onions and mushrooms really added to this flavor. I asked for barbecue sauce and they served it on the side which was fine by me. Fries were fresh, hot and seasoned. Overall, I was pleased. The gyro had tender and savory meat with a zest and the sauce with its mild coolness was the perfect complement. The chicken tenders were crisp outside with juicy meat inside. The interior of the place is older with a worn feel. It's not dirty but the dated look gives it a gritty vibe. It's got the hole-in-the wall look for certain. The far dining area has a section containing magazines such as National Geographic and other periodicals for reading. Service is very timely and the employees were very friendly to us. I actually like Tornado Burger. It was the texture that caught me off guard but I believe I can get used to it. I'm wanting to try the spicy burger that they're famous for. This was in short the most disgusting burger I've ever had in my whole entire life. We ate here on 7/21/13. My burger was rubbery, grey colored and felt like it was a pre-cooked burger from the day before that was just warmed up again. I couldn't even finish it but luckily the fries were good (fresh) so that filled me up somewhat. I saw the signs that fans left on the wall hoping that this was going to be a really great burger joint and it was the most nastiest thing ever. It reminded me of the hamburgers from the school cafeteria but even those were better than this and had a normal color. My brother ordered a spicy burger with double the meat, my sister had a spicy burger, I had a regular burger and my husband opted for a spicy philly cheesesteak. We all hated our food except for my husband and we all wished we opted for the cheesesteaks instead. The jalapeno fries were goopy and served in a deep styrofoam cup with forks, luckily I got my own plain fries and I preferred that much more. The owners should be ashamed of themselves for serving such sub-par food. Also when I entered I smiled at the cashier and manager at the counter and got nothing back. It looked like the manager was training her and she was very nervous. She was however nice about explaining how to order and the different options. The manager just kind of stood there with a stern look on his face which was so bizarre, nothing welcoming about that. While we ate no one asked us how our meal was and when we left there was no one there to complain to. For such a hip looking place it left so much to be desired. Rock-solid burger at dirt-cheap prices, with a bit of dirt-cheap atmosphere thrown into the mix. As noted by the other reviews, this place is going for the In-N-Out feel, and it mostly succeeds. The location used to be a Long John Silver's that I always frequented, so there's a bit of nostalgia there for me. In any case, these bad buns have gotten a lot of press in the Houston circuit, and for good reason. The burgers are cheap--about $4 for a single combo and $5 and change for a 2x2 (double meat, double cheese) combo. That comes with fries and a drink, for those unfamiliar. The fries are excellent; think the extra crispy In-N-Out fries, not the regular undercooked ones. The burger is also quite good. Small patty, In-N-Out or Big Mac style, but with a gigantic burst of spicy flavor (whether you get the regular or spicy, it's walloped in spices). It comes with the requisite fixings, but there's no special sauce here; all the taste is in the meat. You can also switch out the beef for ground chicken or ground turkey, a healthier alternative for those watching what they eat. There's also a beef or chicken philly on the menu, but the place is called Tornado BURGER, people. Stick with the circular bun. The service was friendly and the food came out relatively quick. The only downside to the place is it used to be a dingy LJS; now it's just a dingy burger joint. The fountain drinks taste like pure high fructose corn syrup (HFCS, the alternative to Rachael Ray's EVOO). The ketchup dispensers are those gigantic things you buy from Sam's, and look like they've been used hundreds of times. So if you prefer to take your food to go, I don't blame you. read more

For awhile they were trying to push breakfast. Lately they're pushing wings. But they finally got me to try the Philly cheese steak. It's a little more than the burger, and like the burger it can be made spicy. It looks like you get a little more meat, and the roll is good sized. We live literally three minutes from here and a couple of months ago decided to stop in and try, after living in the neighborhood for 3 1/2 years! And what a find! My husband and I have been beating ourselves up for not trying it sooner. The burgers are comparable to In-N-Out but I have to agree with one reviewer-the fries could use a little less salt. What happened to this place? It used to be SO good, but they've done something to their burgers, I can't quite put my finger on it. The meat seems a little more crumbly than usual, a little less flavor. Also, my usual is a Gyroburger with beef instead of lamb, and the woman who was at the window refused to sell it to me. She insisted that they only sell gyroburgers in pita bread now. I had to change my order to "a burger with tomato, cucumber, feta, and tzatziki, with a beef patty".
