Tasty burger and fries, and a combo meal with a drink is less than $10. This is the kind of place I like to go. I actually splurged and had the parmesan fries, which had lots of cheese. Everything was very fresh tasting. The serving size is great, not so much that you leave bloated but plenty that you will leave full. They recommend a double patty burger which is 6oz. I ordered the burgers spicy, but they didn't seem particularly spicy to me. They also have gyros which they can make spicy (the meat was pretty tasty). Another unique thing was the selection of frozen alcoholic beverages at decent prices. I didn't try one so I'm not sure how good they are. My biggest complaint is that they don't have milkshakes. I've been (sadly) driving by this place for 10 years and NEVER stopped. I've been such a fool!!! I stopped by here on my way home because I was starving and couldn't find anything else that looked decent and had a drive thru. I was pleasantly surprised at not only the menu options but the prices! I decided to get the spicy cheese burger with parmasean fries. They "spicy" cheeseburger is actually seasoned inside the patties so it isn't jalapeños or hot sauce put on top which I thought was great. There's nothing worse that a burger that has too much crap on it! The burger had great flavor and was not TOO spicy but definitely had some heat. I was most impressed with the fries though. They came in a large cup and you could tell they were fresh and hand cut! I got the garlic parmasean ones and they did NOT disappoint. There are several other options for French fry toppings too!! I will definitely be looking for another reason to drive out to this side of town. Open one in Spring Branch next to Tornado Taco!!!! read more

Writing Review While Having a Garage Sale!!! Being a burger buff I figured I give it a try. From the outside, it doesn't look like much but then again the inside doesn't look like much either. But never mind appearances because some of the best bites I've had are usually in places like this, and this was no different. Standing at the counter amongst the old tables and slew of National Geographic Magazines (weird huh), I was confused about what to order due to all the different choices and options just for patties. Single, Double, Lamb, Beef, Spicy, Not Spicy... I settled on a single spicy cheese burger, fries, and a spicy philly cheesesteak (no i did not eat all of that, more for sampling). Man, if you like a "Spicy Meatballs" then you'll love this place because the meat taste like it just bathed in Jalepenos and onions... It was good. In addition, they keep the skin on the fries... Poor customer service. I live on the opposite side of town and was in the stafford area visiting family. I ordered a chicken Philly cheesesteak, and by the time I realized they gave me steak instead of chicken, I was 40 minutes away from the location. When I called and told them that and that red meat makes me sick, they were not apologetic and said that I would have to come back to get a cash refund even though I paid with a card. I'm a little biased because I'm pro small local businesses, but Tornado Burger is just a solid place overall. I've been here maybe 20+ times, and I have never had a time where I didn't enjoy my meal. Everything is freshly made and delicious. Everything from their cheesesteaks to their burgers are absolutely fantastic for the price. I usually get one spicy double cheeseburger with fries, and then I share a domestic pitcher with friends. People always like to compare burger places, but this place isn't really like whataburger or in-n-out. They put a lot of their focus on the patties rather than the bread. Taste: I always get a triple Burger Spicy with no cheese and it never disappoints. I give the Burger at Tornado burger a 5/5 for taste. The only thing I wish they had was a sesame seed bun instead of the bun that they use. What makes the Burgers here taste so good in my opinion, is the same thing that makes Burgers at Stacattos and Bubbas Burger shack (both in Houston) taste good, which is the Beef is seasoned with more than just Salt and Black pepper. From experience the Best burgers I've ever eaten are all made from beef that is seasoned with more than just salt and pepper. Ground beef is not a Ribeye steak you can't use just salt and pepper and expect it to taste amazing. The Philly Cheese Steaks are pretty good as well but the triple burger is what you really want. The fries are alright I've had better but I'd rather get two triple burgers haha Price: Very cheap you can't honestly complain about price here. I freaking love this place. It's almost like one of those hole in the wall burger joints. Let me start off with the pros of this place and then get to why I gave this place 3 stars instead of 5. Pros: - Their burgers are AMAZING. You can get them in either spicy or regular. I'm probably the only person on earth that will say that I prefer the regular patty over spicy. I think the regular has just the right amount of spices and flavor, while spicy is a bit too hot for me. My ideal meal here is the #2 combo (single patty w/ cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and mayo; nix the mayo and tomatoes and add mustard and pickles instead). All combos come w/ fries and a drink. - The cashiers are pretty cool. They do their job happily and don't really give you an attitude or anything, just like how a normal cashier at a burger joint should be. - I like how they're always trying to renovate the place, yet it still has sort of a dive-y essence. My first time here was 3 years ago when they only sold 3 burger combos and some cheesesteaks. Since then, I've seen them start selling breakfast, draft beers, gyros, chicken, etc. They've expanded their restaurant w/ an outdoor patio and another room indoors. They still keep old pictures and a whole bunch of license plates on their walls. And their menus are now on flat screen tvs! Lol. Cons: - The bathrooms could be a bit cleaner. I don't know why, but for some reason, I always dread coming into this bathroom to wash my hands and get ready for my food. You know how some restrooms are super clean and pretty and such? Not this one. - Their fries are not as good as they used to be. Back when I first started coming here, they were thin and crispy and the seasonings on the fries complemented them so well, which in turn, complemented the burger. They were just as amazing, if not more than, the burger itself! These fries were so addicting. Now, because they've started using thicker cut fries... I don't know. I guess the seasoning doesn't complement all the potato in the fries as well anymore. It's pretty sad that this one thing has kept me from coming back as often as I should. I would drive through a tornado to get to Tornado Burger. Delicious, fast, cheap. This trio of words describes Tornado Burger perfectly. Like anybody else, I love a great burger. This place has great burgers. While kind of small, these burgers make up for it greatly in flavor. I definitely recommend opting to get your burger spicy. The extra kick is just enough to add another world of deliciousness to your meal, but it wont burn your mouth up. I've always rated burgers by how messy it is and how much I care that I have juices running down my arm. They're definitely messy, and definitely worth it. The fries are fantastic, too. They hand-cut the fries in shop and fry them in rendered unicorn fat. Whatever their secret is, they make amazing fries. The service is pretty fast. There's a sign by the register that states that a patty doesn't hit the grill until they order it. If that's true, then I'm very impressed by how quickly they get your food ready. Money is not an issue here. A tad more than your typical fast food joint, but not as much as some of these higher-end burger places print on their menu. For a triple meat, triple cheese burger, spicy, fries and a drink, you'll be paying about $8.50. Fantastic. read more

I saw the sign for Tornado Burger driving to Missouri City. I commented to my sister that we should try it sometime since we both like trying new places and some of my friends told me it was good. So, we went around lunchtime and it was getting really busy. I did not read any reviews before hand---or I would of ordered the Spicy Burger--which I have yet to try! But, the original burger with cheese was ok-- the seasoning in the meat was different-- I would have to try a few more burgers to really figure it out. --I do like the fries--I love how crunchy and thin they are but--a lil over salted. My sister has gone back a few times and got the Spicy burger and she said it was good but since they make everything fresh--one burger is not the same spice factor as another one. Passed by this place many times and finally decided to give it a try. Dropped in during lunchtime on a Saturday and was no wait. The place is more like a local burger shack. The places is decorated on the inside with various state license plates and local street signs that line the wall. The ordering process is a little unique like others mentioned in that their are three types of orders which apply to any of the four types of meat you choose (Chicken,Beef, Gyro,Italian sausage). You can further customize with other options so I would take time to read the back board if it's your first time. The are pretty fast with orders and just short wait time for preparation. I tried the chicken sandwich with the spicy option. The meat is lean square shaped slices but sandwich overall is filling. The spice added the perfect kick so I would recommend. Fries were hand cut thinly sliced and was good though a little greasy. I tried the gyro burger with spice and tzatziki sauce on another occasion and it was real good! Would recommend dropping by if you are in the mood for something different than your typical fast food burger chain. read more

This was one of my favorite places to go to until my last visit. You order a combo and it's 3.00 additional dollars to get onions strings instead of fries. The combo comes with fries why in the hell would I pay 3.00 EXTRA for some damn onions strings. If that's the case, it shouldn't be an combo, it should not be any combos. They pretty dumb. It reminds me the hamburgers of Dan's in Austin, which, up until now, was my favorite. Location, location, location. The cheesesteak was huge. It looks like the chopped burger patties mixed with a lot of deliciously griddle onion. The bread was nice and chewy. And it is pretty spicy. To the point my sinuses opened up nicely! I'm not the hugest cheesesteak fan, but this was what made me rethink that position. The fries were good, not outstanding, but good nonetheless. Tasty burger, but the place was trashed which negates the tastiness of the burger. It's difficult to get excited about enjoying a juicy and wonderfully seasoned product when you are sitting at a table that hasn't been clean and it's clear the floor hasn't been swept all day. Let me first start off by saying that the appearance of the place is rather appealing and unique which is a plus in my book. As we received our order, the first thing I noticed was the presentation of the fries. They were placed in a large styrofoam cup and covered with what appeared to be your typical nacho cheese. While with the cheese the fries tasted good, it appeared to me that had I not ordered the cheese, the fries wouldn't have been that great. The burger, on the other hand, was actually very good. I got the spicy option and it was the perfect amount of spice. The vegetables were fresh, however, the patties were on the thin side. Overall, I thought the 2 x 2 was perfectly balanced. Woohooo! Finally got a chance to try this place! David ordered a cheeseburger and I had a philly cheese-steak. Both weren't bad, but we've had better in Houston. However, prices were pretty awesome. Burger was alright, flavorful, meaty (double patty) nothing too special though. Cheese-steak meat was good, bread was average at best. Starting falling apart since I'm such a slow eater. I wasn't brave enough to order it "spicy" but got a side of the spicy sauce.... which was the best thing! I barely used any, because it was pretty hot. So I took it home and am waiting to use it! Everything is so good, the philly cheesesteak is so good, from the meat, cheese, and the bread they used. PERFECTION. The fries are in my top ten list for good ol' american fries. The spicy cheeseburger had a nice kick, not too much and not too little just right for my taste bud. I would most definitely go back to place if I didn't live so far. Holy heartburn, Batman! Went with the hubbie and he got a double meat cheeseburger and I got a spicy philly cheese-steak. The cheesesteak is no Papa Geno's but it sure hits the spot when you have a craving for one. Their patties are thin so don't feel shy about getting double meat. It will definitely put a fire in your belly. Fries are a little on the soggy side but are good enough. We got them doused in garlic parm so that was our bad. I'm a crispy fry fan so this was disappointing.
