Decent Mexican food. They have a nice little dining area, and a large bar. There's also an outdoor seating area, which is nice. This place doesn't seem to be too busy (I've been here twice)-I don't think it's an ideal location. The service is good and the menu is decent sized. I ordered two glasses of wine (who orders wine at a Mexican joint, I know), but the glasses are more like heavy duty mugs... Please use regular wine glasses. That's my only complaint. read more

Just visited this place in Lithicum, MD for the first time. The food was delicious, BUT that soon turned into questions about there flavors. As soon as we finished our meal, a cockroach slowly walked across the table and appeared to not be in fear of our presence. We immediately beckoned the manager to our table to show him the roach. As he acknowledge the critter, he nonchalantly asked what was the problem. As we continued to point to "it", he casually took a napkin and try to smash the roach on the table. The roach then fell on the floor and the manager then proceeded to smash the roach on the floor. At that point, we were extremely grossed out and asked for our check. The manager did not offer any discount for what had transpired!! If the manager did not consider roaches to be a problem, imagine what's in the kitchen where the food is prepared. WE WILL NOT BE RETURNING TO THIS PLACE AND I RECOMMEND THAT, IF YOU DO NOT LIKE ROACHES, YOU SHOULD NOT PATRON THIS PLACE EITHER. read more

Eh. I had high expectations, as this place was recommended by a family friend. My wife liked her Fajitas meal, I found my dos burritos average. Service was not the best, but maybe it was just our guy and not all servers. Same overly complicated menu as most Mexican places imo. Same 10+ items with 30+ different combinations. Not all beer on their menu was available. Prices a tad high. I won't go out of my way to eat here again, but feel a 3 overall is fair. read more

Accidentally stumbled on this restaurant and decided to try it out. We were NOT DISAPPOINTED! The service was great (friendly and prompt). The chips and salsa greeted us at our table. The Sangria was excellent. The Seafood Chimichanga and Arroz con Pollo were delicious and in ample portions. And, when was the last time your server reached out to shake your hand as your left your table?! We'll be back when we're in town again! read more

The nachos were the best we have ever had... The salsa was great. Chips were a little hard but good. Our waiter was good and efficient... We would definitely come back although we did not order a regular entre because the nachos were so big that we both are from it and there was a third left on the plate when we left. A LOT of chicken... They did get the guacamole on top of the nachos, so we will ask for it to be placed on the side. read more

I am from san diego and mexican food is on every block. I saw this place and thought what the heck - i will see what mexican food tastes like in baltimore. Much better than expected. The first salsa they brought out had no heat. I asked if they had anything with some heat. They brought out some that they make themselves. It had a chipotle flavor that i am not fond of but did have must better heat. I mixed the two and it was delicious. I ordered the pork colorado. The sauce was delicious but not enough of it i asked for more and they eagerly complied. The pork was not nearly the standards as southern California but not bad. The food was much better then I expected but also more expensive than expected. ($12 for the burrito, rice and beans) The service was outstanding. Decent. Summary: overpriced nice service with standard, if boring, food in a very pleasing atmosphere There are better options. I went here for an early lunch on a Monday. The entry way was a little odd, didn't quite have that restaurant feel, more like you were coming in some random back doors entrance. There was no one else here (they had just opened) and I was immediately seated. I was given chips and salsa to begin. The chips were nice and warm but the salsa needs a little bit of work. The cilantro was a nice touch but it just seemed to be lacking in flavor (I was getting over being sick, maybe that's it?). I ordered a 2 chicken enchilada lunch special which came out so fast on such a scorching hot plate it could have only been microwaved. The tortilla for the enchilada supported this as it was somewhat chewy somewhat mushy. The chicken was decently seasoned but lacked any excitement. The retried beans - which I usually like at most places - were runny. The rice was good. The server was efficient and attentive. My favorite thing about the entire restaurant was the decor and atmosphere. It was very clean and had a fun, clearly new or recently refurbished, interior. But I go to a restaurant mainly for the food and this place just did not deliver enough to warrant a return visit. read more

My wife and I went here last night. The service was good, though we felt a little rushed to order. When we needed a little more time, it seemed like our server disappeared for a long time. When our food came out, my wife raved about her spinach quesadilla, but my combination was rather lackluster. My quesadilla was alright and I was looking forward to my smashed potato enchilada but unfortunately the tortilla wasn't cooked completely. When I moved to the area, my wife and I made a pact that we'd try a bunch of new things. This is probably my favorite place of them all. It's simply delicious. Especially the chicken quesadillas. The frozen margaritas are really good as well. They don't skimp on the liquor. Every time I've been there, not only has the food been consistently good every time I've gone but the service has always been exemplary as well. Food always comes out fast even when it's busy. Although I will say I like going during lunch when there's pretty much nobody there. The chile rellenos are amazing as well. I will be back...over and over again. read more

Went in at lunch time mid week. There were only 2 other tables of two. The waiter greeted us with a blank expression and seemed as though he was inconvenienced and either he or we shouldn't have been there. We got our food and my burrito was extremely bland and accompanied with some lettuce & a slice of tomato. The salsa was lacked flavor and the chips were dry. To start, I have never been a big fan of mid-Atlantic food seasonings (read this as old Bay on everything). I like to call it overpriced mediocrity. During my latest three day trip here, this was the best meal I had. Everything was great during my visit here. Food was O.K. Service was great! The thing I'm upset about is that I was charged more than what I signed the credit card receipt for! The server gave himself a higher tip of what I had left for the service, everyone!... beware of this place, I always leave 18% of tip to where I feel that the service is good, the server added 20% instead and shows it on the company credit card, my receipt shows a different amount than the credit card statement, how am I going to explain in my expense report to my employer?.... restaurants hosts robbing customers adding extra amounts on tips... read more

We are here visiting from California and decided to try this place it because it had good yelp reviews , while the food was good the service was not , My sprite was empty for a few minutes and the server helping us was no where to be found , so I walked to the bar to ask the bartender for a refill, he was sitting at the bar on his cell phone with his back to me , I waited patiently for him to see me but he continued with his phone . I then asked him for a refill because I couldn't find my server and he looked at me like I was crazy . He said nothing slammed down his phone and grabbed my drink and took it to the other server for him to fill it , talk about team work ! Then for the rest of our meal he decided to give myself and the group I was with dirty looks. What place of business wants to try and intimate there guests ??? Our server David was good , thank you ! Toro Bravo is a great option for Mexican food. I come here once a week and have never been disappointed. The staff are friendly and always attentive. The food is prepared quickly and always delicious. I am hooked on the chori-pollo. The fish fajitas are awesome too. They serve a nice portion of chips and salsa while you wait for your entree. My friends love going here. Did I mention they have an alcohol license. Give this place a try. They have a lunch menu to keep costs down. read more

Hands down one of the BEST Mexican restaurants I've been to. I've eaten there several times and each time has been great. Staff is friendly and service was awesome (Jose was super nice and a great waiter). The guacamole is out of this world - we had a party of 5 and it was plenty for all of us. I ordered the shrimp and steak fajita and the amount of food could have easily been for two! I took half home and had it the next day for dinner! And the taste? DELICIOUS!! The shrimp was big and the steak was cooked perfect (not chewy like a lot of restaurants use in their fajitas) and it was seasoned just right w/lots of peppers and onions! My husband ordered the grande burrito and he said it was "fantastic." We ordered sopapillos for dessert with vanilla ice cream and that sealed the deal for us! It was out of this world!! One of the best desserts we've had hands down. At first we thought it was a little pricey; however, the amount of food you're served and the deliciousness of the meals and dessert made it so worth it! All 5 of us said "we've found our new favorite place to eat!" I'd recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great meal!!! read more

Went with my family and Mexican mother in law to celebrate my wife's birthday. The salsa had too much tomato sauce and not enough condiments that make for a good salsa. This restaurant cuts too many corners on authentic Mexican flavors and it's not cheap. The best part of our meal was the dessert. Just ate here for the first time. We had a group of 10. The food was decent, we didn't hate it. Some had better dishes than others. All in all the dishes were pretty expensive for what we got. All of the 'smothered' burritos were anything but smothered. Sprinkled with sauce would be more like it. The service was a bit rough, our waiter wasn't the friendliest, but he wasn't nasty. Our biggest issue came when the bill came. I absolutely despise restaurants who do not cater to bigger groups by allowing for multiple checks. Do they not realize how difficult it can be to take one check and split it between 4-5 parties?! It can't be easy for them to decipher chicken scratch saying who's paying for what. If you want people to come back, how about making it easier to function as a group and at the least let people pay separately with their own checks. Don't even get me started on the automatic 20% gratuity that was added, what happened to the normal 18% for groups!? Toro Bravo, we probably won't be back, at least not with a group. read more

I ordered the grilled chicken taco's w/ a frozen margarita & my husband had the carnita's w/ rice & beans & we both thought everything was outstanding. The salsa that came w/ the chips was so good we didn't have to add salt which I liked. The service was fast & the restaurant was very clean...look forward to eating there again! read more
