Good place a little hard to order just waiter didn't seem to understand and then they disappeared a little. Fried ice cream wasn't traditional to me it was just ice cream with Frosted Flakes on it and just not the greatest. Food was good no real spice in salsa or dishes though. The food was delicious and the service great. I ordered the Pollo Ranchero. It had onions, mushrooms and cheese on top of a grilled chicken breast with a side if beans and rice. There was a sauce that the onions and mushrooms were sauteed in that was really yummy. I do not usually eat the rice, but this rice was worth it! The chips and salsa were great too. The salsa was on the spicier side, which I love. Glad I judged for myself. I will definitely be back. read more

We've been coming to Toro Bravo for many years. Sadly, the last three years or so things have gone down hill. (Of course, sadly, Covid has accelerated the decline. The most noticeable issue, to me, is the odor that now greets you when you walk in. Definitely ask to be seated on the side where the bar is located. The other side with the restroom is where the smell is emanating it's been an issue for years. It's seems to be more of a drainage issue...not necessarily a bathroom smell. It's not pleasant, simply put. It used to be quite crowded and the manager would stop at every table to say hello and as how everything was. The servers are all very efficient. Lately we've been sitting at the bar and ordering a la carte, which is the way to go for us. Some bartenders are friendlier than others, who are not "unfriendly", just not overly nice. I don't know, I guess I'm old school and want a bartender who is engaged with the customers. They always serve warm chips with salsa...always good! What prompted me to review was my last visit. They close at 10. We were sitting at the bar when one employee started with the cleaning of the bar top, not far from where we we sitting. Okay, I really get it, you want to clean, close, and get the hell out. I don't blame you. Around 9:40 our tab was paid and we had full glasses of beer to finish. There was another bar patron across from us. The staff started putting the bar stools on the bar (upside down of course) for cleaning purposes. So we're sitting there surrounded by bar stools. The ladies said, genuinely, "take your time" but wtf? It was really off-putting and makes me not want to go back ever again. They're certainly not the only ones who do that. As I said, we've been going there for over 8 years or more. We've known it's not perfect, but it's close by, they're fast, pretty nice, and food is decent. The decor is nice and I like the bar. However, this last visit really is making me not want to go back. We probably will though...just earlier. So it's on us. We know what it's like. I can see the staff cleaning, but maybe not surround your bar patrons with barstools while they're finishing their drinks. We took photos of each other with the barstools next to us; I can honestly say that's never happened to me before. I could see if we were there past closing time. Anyway, it is what it is. Please, though, call a plumber about the unpleasant odor!! read more

You have stop by and take in the atmosphere. The owner and wait staff are great. I sat at the bar and ordered three soft tacos ( fish, steak and chicken) the tacos were very tasty. I ordered a side of guacamole with them as well (think I ate them too fast). For drinks I ordered a Modelo on tap. Nice and cold! You also have to order the skinny margarita. Went here for dinner while traveling for work, and was looking for good quality Mexican. Yelp reviews helped me zero in on this place, and I was very happy with my choice! Service was quick and accurate. Food was very, VERY good! The complimentary salsa and chips were terrific, and the house made salsa was delicious, with just the right amount of bite. I had shrimp tacos with a side of received beans and rice. Just a point about the beans....they really were outstanding! Light and almost "fluffy", they tasted terrific.
