Food was good not great. Service was slow. Restaurant is beautiful and inviting. Cocktails were weak and sugary. Wanted to like this place but I probably won't return.

Very pretty place with great staff! We had shrimp ceviche and the portion was pretty abundant. We also each had a michelada. They were tasty with a very minimal taste of spice. The guacamole was very tasty and they serves everything with tostadas. I really enjoyed the place. There are plenty of places to park and the view of the river was beautiful!

    Let's try it out.

I took My husband on a date night and we ended up here which I am so glad we did. I ordered a tequila Mezcal beverage and we ordered the garlic cremini mushroom appetizer for our main dish. My husband ordered the ancho chili crusted New York steak with bone marrow butter, I ordered the ceviche mixto which had tuna scallops, shrimp, and octopus in it. The drink, I didn't realize that I did not like the flavor of Mezcal so the waitress was very kind and she replaced it with a mojito which was super nice of her to do. My husband's steak literally melted in your mouth. The perfect blacken char on the outside of the steak and the most amazing cook on the inside. When I say it melted in your mouth I barely had to chew which is shocking since I do not go cheap when it comes to making my own steak. I buy very high quality meat and I know how to cook a really good steak but I will have to come back here from time to time to get their steak. I got the freshest ceviche dish it also came with fresh handmade corn tortillas that were perfectly fried. The ceviche sauce had a little spice kick to it but still very refreshing. Oh and my husband's steak dinner also came with grilled onions and pickled onions. Almost like a fajita style. It came with handmade fresh corn tortillas. The service was spot on. Our server was super nice and the food came out so quick. When our server came to gather our plates a bus boy came up right away and took care of it. I was very impressed by this. It just showed me the respect the employees have for one another which was so nice to experience. Hands down my favorite Mexican restaurant!

What a wonderful restaurant on the river walk. We chose to sit outside and enjoy a picture perfect day. The staff was very attentive and kind. The food was AMAZING, portions large and the drinks spot on. We shared the roasted carrots (now I'm dreaming of whipped ricotta and hot honey drizzled carrots) paella with plenty of seafood, and Brussel sprouts. Everything was delish! What a lovely spot!

First of all, I always pass this restaurant in downtown. It's near the river but I never tried it till today. Delicious across all boards. They have mastered and perfected their drinks menu, the margaritas were extremely good, dare I say one of the best cocktails I've had in Reno. As for the food, paella was very tasty! 10/10. I will b revisiting. Ambience was very calm

We had a great experience here. It was our first time and we really enjoyed it. We actually ended up ordering off the happy hour menu, but the main menu looked great too. So we will be back for more tastings. The service was good and the food came out fairly quick. The restaurant was well lit, clean, and tables spaced out fairly well. Same layout as the previous business.

I was really pleased with my visit to Toro Bravo. We tried a variety of items on the menu: guacamole, chorizo requesón, pork shank, tostada de arrachera, chicken empanadas, cilantro rice, and short ribs. Everything met or exceeded my expectations. The standout dishes for me were the chorizo requesón, cilantro rice, short ribs, and pork shank--each was flavorful and well-executed. The guacamole and tostada were solid and had the classic flavors you'd expect. My toddler especially loved the cilantro rice, tortilla chips, chorizo requesón, and short ribs, which was a big win. The staff were attentive, friendly, and very accommodating. We originally asked to sit outside, but when it got windy, they quickly moved us inside without any hassle. The restaurant also offers open outdoor seating, which is a nice option if you want to enjoy the view on a calmer day.

Customer service was excellent, from the host to our server. My favorite dishes were the ceviches! They were flavorful with a ton of color!

I liked the ambiance. The service not so much. Took a while to be seated. Took more than a while to see a server. Ordered drinks/food at the same time. Didn't want to go thru a drink before even ordering food. We were seated by the bar so I saw when the drinks were ready waited and waited until finally the bartender brought them over. I was ready to just grab them myself. Food finally came. It was okay, not great. Overall really disappointed based on the reviews we read. Won't be running back to try again.

Fresh tortillas with my ribeye and octopus? Yes please! We hit up Toro Bravo for our anniversary dinner and what a dinner it was. We started out lobster empanadas and papas bravas, and both were delicious. The hamachi ceviche had just the right amount of kick as well. My stars though were the ribeye special and octopus. Having the tortillas on the side to make myself some tacos was heaven. To finish everything off we had a delicious basque cheesecake. The restaurant itself is beautiful. Throughout our entire dinner we were consistently checked on and everybody was really nice. It's nice to have another excellent steakhouse choice in town and we'll definitely be back.

Service was great, food was absolutely amazing. Huge fan of that bone marrow butter. Weather was great so we sat outside and the ambiance of the river really made the entire dinner that much better. Busser was on top of everything! Waitress was super accommodating. I will definitely be returning after all I have to try the dessert next time!

Sleek modern interior and gorgeous riverfront location, I was impressed walking into Toro Bravo and excited that downtown has a beautiful restaurant! Happy hour is Monday through Thursday 3-6pm and it's a great deal! The margaritas are very flavorful, my favorite was the mango lucha marg. The papas bravas are a must order- the potatoes are so tender and delicious and perfectly cooked! My favorite bite. The quesobirria was filling but I think the mexcal ones are better, can't put my finger on it but these were a little less flavorful and smaller and drier. Toro Bravo is a collab between mexcal and la condesa two of my other favorite restaurants in town! The brussels sprouts were just ok and the chorizo requeson I thought would have way more flavor, it was bland and the chorizo was not spicy or interesting it got overpowered by the richness and blandness of the ricotta! Overall I enjoyed the experience and will definitely be back for happy hour prices, but if I paid full price for that quantity and type of food ($16 for the requeson) I would be disappointed! It would have to really blow me away at that price point and it did not!

Love the bull statues! Selfie perfection! The restaurant is on the river and has lots of natural light. Our server was attentive but not intrusive. The food was scrumptious! We would absolutely come back!

How do I make reservations? No website and number doesn’t take messages?

Hi! Yeah, they're working on their website and the only way to make a reservation right now is to keep calling them. When I made mine, I called around 3pm and someone answered. It's definitely worth it and I hope you enjoy your dinner!

It really does not taste anything like an "old fashioned" but it's very good and my usual go-to. Ambiance is cool. Has a very Edgar Alan Poe vibe mixed with an alchemist/speakeasy. Love the quality of the drinks as they absolutely put effort and time making quality drinks with quality ingredients. It's relatively small inside so I can only imagine it could get packed in there. We had several drinks and every single one was perfection! The bathroom is the cutest and they have the coolest speakeasy door that the employees use to get to the back (not for the customers). My rant..I'm not from the area so I had NO idea what this place was when I walked by. It looked cute so my husband, myself and child walked up the steps and they sat outside while I went to check it out and see if this was a bar/club/ restaurant. I walked inside and instantly got the death glare from an employee. I instantly said omg I take it this place isn't kid friendly.. he rudely said no. I wanted to clarify and confirm even outside ? He said no. I apologized and they left but the vibe and way he said it was definitely off putting. My sister and I decided to stay for a drink while my husband/child went to walk around. Usually I don't give bad costumer service a chance.. but I realllllllly wanted a drink that one of those others customers were drinking. If this place had better costumer service. It would be a 5

We arrived around 5:30 PM on a Saturday. The joint was nearly empty aside from a couple at the bar. Plenty of seating for our large group in the large, comfy couches. A fun and unique way to sort cocktails. They also have a selection of beer on draft and wine. The drinks can also be made into mocktails- a win for our group since we had a few non-drinkers. The 1859 mocktail was great. Perfectly sweet with a small hit of miso flavor from the miso honey. Probably even better and more balanced with the whiskey! Others in my group enjoyed working their way through the many light, dark, and sour beers on tap. 1864 offers a classic, relaxed atmosphere and a great place to get a cocktail. A wonderful magic show inside the Grand Sierra Hotel & Casino…read more I was looking for something to do without leaving the hotel for a major conference. I saw that they were advertising this show...and I like a good magic show. It did not disappoint. The sleight of hand and on-stage demonstrations were incredible. I was still banging my head of how they did it or maybe it was the cocktail at the bar that was playing tricks on my mind. As a guest of the hotel, I had a 20% coupon and promptly used it at the ticket office, though I think I should have picked my seat better. Nonetheless, I was in the second row and I was able to get a good look of the magic up close. If you arrive early, you can hang out for Happy Hour, they had some unique drinks including the local standby beers and cocktails...and mocktails for those attending the all-ages show. After happy hour ended a bud light and high noon was $18. I can't believe they turned the old movie theater into a magic show theater. I sat there thinking about all the movies I saw at the Hotel and the first time I had a drink in a movie theater so long ago, 1989. It was fun in the bar prior to the doors opening they have a magical experience for adults and kids to set the mood for the evening. Tracy the bartender was awesome! She also works at Blitz during the day. She has the kindest soul and such a people person! It was like I had known her for years. They have a box office where you can purchase tickets. Very hard to hear the gal! They definitely need a microphone to speak to each other. If you think you're going to save a few extra dollars on those service fees - you may have to think twice, just purchase on line. It's much easier. Also, they have a snack bar with fresh popped popcorn $9 -$13 and huge pretzels $14. Chase Hasty and his wife have traveled around the world to over 25 countries sharing their magical talent and ballet dancing skills. My favorite part of the show was when Chase brought out a locked box and Hoisted the box with a rope up to the ceiling and told this guy to watch the box. Later in the show they opened the box, it was a pretty impressive trick!!! One not to be forgotten!! It's a small production but well thought out with couple extra dancers and costumes changes. I love that Chase, picks people out of the audience to help with the show. Maddox was a return kid that had been practicing his magic and Chase let him perform in front of the audience and what is that called "That's Magic!!!" It's nice the performers will met you afterwards in the hallway to have pictures and ask questions. It's a great family night or you can come to the later show at 9pm for a little more risky nocturnal show. I'll have to save that one for another time!
