Best burger I have had in a long time. Guacamole with bacon and sweet potato fries. Had the Pecan Porter from a local brewery. Loved the heat in the Guacamole and the Toro sauce. I sat at the bar and the bartender was my server. I have not had service like that in a long time. Attentive, friendly and on top of things. When traveling I try local places and this one was great. I ordered the Booze burger for lunch. At first I couldn't decide with the variety on the menu but Cassandra helped me out. Angus beef patty was a little bland, but the bacon, Guinness cheese sauce and Jameson bbq glaze sure helped enhance the flavor. The patty came out medium just as ordered. I also ordered a side of garlic fries and they came on the well done side, which I preferred. Cassandra took care of me and did a great job following up. If only my chicken wasn't dry and overcooked, if only the tea had more of a raspberry flavor, if only the fries were not so salty. If only they didn't taste like raw onions from the onions at the bottom of that serving dish.... If only they had run a dust cloth over the bar, and a mop over the floor. I know El Paso is dusty, but keeping your place clean instead of playing on the phone behind the bar counts for something. If only the other server didn't use the same wet cloth to wipe the table AND the seating. If only our server was a little bit more with her head in the game than somewhere else. Me and my family just got back from here.. we could tell there was one cook and I'm taking that into consideration. The waitress was great, very sweet. The food however was really bad. The only good thing we had was our fried pickles and fries and our beer.. my chicken sandwich was burnt.. it seems that all the fried food was overly fried. I was so very disappointed in this place... Slow as hell service! 30 minutes my family and me had to wait for our food to be served on Father's Day when there wasn't even that many costumers. And to put more salt on the wound, our waitress had attitude and didn't even do the simple favor of changing the channel on the TV. Overrated. Who said this is the best burger in El Paso?! My daughter and I ordered two burger, one medium well, one medium rare and both came out well done and the bun was soggy. The waitress never came out to offer a refill until we were done eating. The garlic fries had a layer of salt. Food probably tastes great if you are drunk. Kobe burger is delicious. We have had it before and it seemed to have a better presentation and cooked better. This second time around it was still delicious but not the same experience, it was a Friday and they were pretty busy which leads me to believe might have been the reason for not having the same experience from the first time. However our waiter was very kind and apologetic, and attempted his best to ensure we had everything we needed. The toreados are delicious ! Amazing selection for sides we had the salt and vinegar fries and tator tots which you can request loaded for an extra charge. Quality of the food has gone down but the prices have gone up like everything else. They could atleast season the meat. Salt n vinegar fries had just a light dusting. Tried my wife's burger and the same result along with the garlic fries. Don't think I'll come here again. read more

Do you little business in El Paso, so I decided to check out the local burger seen. Came across Toro Burger bar and thought, "This is going to be fantastic!" It was pretty busy at lunchtime, only seating available at the bar. So I hopped up on a stool, was given a menu, and we are off to the races! They have to have 15 different types of hamburgers for different types of chicken sandwiches (all deep-fried unfortunately), and a couple vegetarian options. They also have a multitude, like five, different types of french fries offerings. I went with the avocado bacon burger and an order of salt and vinegar french fries. The service was a little slow, I came in on a Friday night around 8pm. It took a long time just to get my food, and after it took awhile just to get my water refilled. I got the fiery green chili cheeseburger, and this burger is pretty big with a lot of toppings on it. It tasted pretty good and had a nice kick from the peppers. The white truffle Parmesan cheese fries were pretty basic and just tasted like regular fries with Parmesan cheese sprinkled over it. Not sure if the cook was maybe a little light handed with the truffle oil. But nothing a side of ranch couldn't fix and make it taste better. Also they forgot to add their Toro sauce and didn't put the avacado on the burger that is on the menu. They offered to remake the burger so I said fine. I went to pick up the burger and even 40 minutes later I was still waiting for them to bring it out. I got the burger back and sat down to eat. I probably made a mistake by ordering a brunch item off the menu. I ordered a chorizo burger hash, but when it was brought to me the waitress said it was a turkey burger hash. She walked off quickly so I didn't have time to clarify. Every part of the hash was so overcooked that I couldn't even tell what I was eating. The eggs were fairly dried out as well. I know it's a burger place, but if you have something on the menu, I hope that it's done well. Just wasn't impressed, unfortunately. The restaurant itself is decent and the service was good. Went here for lunch since we're staying in the hotel right next to Toro Burger. We ordered the Toro burger, avocado fries, and a strawberry milkshake. Service was great. The waitress made sure we always had our waters filled. Avocado fries are a complete new thing to me, never have I ever seen them on any menu. So we had to try it. Comes with a spicy chipotle ranch type sauce. A little too spicy for me, but it is good ! The strawberry shake was really good. Topped with whipped cream and a cherry. I'm so glad it wasn't a $5-6 shake like at smashburger or a diner. It was $3.75. And it was well worth it. Made with ice cream and had real strawberries. The burger was good. Next time I won't get well done. I usually don't get my meat well done but this time I tried it. The Toro burger comes with an angus beef patty (thick!), sliced avocados, lettuce, tomatoes, pepper jack cheese, and Toro sauce. I would come back here! Plenty of parking, not too busy for lunch. Visit after church, heard great things about the place. I had the rise and shine burger with truffle fries. It's a decent size burger and very filling. Felt like the cranberry sauce was not needed. Taste like something I could make at the house. The bun was fresh and excellent. The truffle fries, I didn't taste the truffle. They just tasted soaked in some oil. My buddy had the garlic fries, garlic powder on the fries. The fries were not impressive. But overall experience was decent, I think I may have to comeback and try the drinks. I ordered the build your own burger angus beef, grilled onions, grilled pepper, fried egg and bacon with side of sea salt fries, toro sauce and some spicy ketchup. First off the food is easily 5/5 probably top 5 burger I've had and I've been all over the United States. Love that it's open late. Bar staff was polite and easy going, without making me feel rushed. Good customer service always encourages me to give a good rating. The five stars is not just for the service. I love a good burger that stands on its' own without having to rely on being over-seasoned. The Blue Burger was cooked to a perfect medium-rare. Dropped off a rental car at the airport and hubby said let's try this place so we did. Small place, but clean. Was greeted and seated right away. We ordered our drinks which came fairly fast so no complaints with the service. We ordered the following: avocado fries- they were a bit greasy and the breading had little to almost no flavor. The spicy aeoli also had no flavor except for the spice. I put salt on them and I normally don't do that unless there's no flavor on the food. Green chile burger no bun and truffle fries- the burger had very little flavor to none. It was placed in top of a lettuce which was okay but usually a protein burger should be wrapped in lettuce. The grilled onions were good but nothing spectacular. Needless to say my burger fell flat on the flavor side even with the green chile on it. The truffle fries... Ok let me just tell you, maybe they need to invest on truffle flavored salt instead of dousing the fries with truffle oil. They were so oily it left a tsp of oil on the bottom of my fries bowl. Were they good? It's truffle oil! Of course they were good but I sure didn't req truffle oil as lip moisturizer. They were way toooo oily! El matador burger with regular fries- hubby said it was good but meat plus bread for that man is good enough. I had a bite and it was okay. The bun was not hearty enough to handle all that stuff in between them. The fried onions rings were clumped up. They weren't rings. It was more like fried clumped up onions. Oh and $40 our food with 2 iced teas???? Say what???? Waaaaaayyyy too expensive for burgers and fries. I could get 5 double double, 5 fries and 5 drinks at In n Out in SoCal and have a view of Laguna Beach for that price. And you know what? In n Out beat their burgers and fries any day of the week and twice in Sunday!!! Needless to say, we are still on the hunt for a good burger in El Paso. read more

Five stars from me. I'm a burger man and this place has been on my list for at least 4 years. I've had 35 of the top 50 burgers in Texas (Texas Monthly's List) and this was one of the only top 10 burgers I hadn't had. Living in Austin, I never found myself that far west. With a move to Arizona, I found the perfect opportunity to have the burger I'd been longing for. Let me just say this. Many of the burgers on the list are in questionable places. Places I'm not likely to take my wife for a date. Toro Burger Bar was legit. The atmosphere was fun and trendy - a perfect date spot. I'd come back again for a fun night out and the menu was loaded with delicious options. The burger was amazing... definitely in my top five. I can't recommend this place enough. My only quip.
