On a Wednesday without reservations my friend and I were seated at the bar immediately. Passed menus and water, the staff asked if we had any questions. The menu was pretty simple apps, entrees and sides on one side, drinks and cocktails on the other. We ordered: - Empanadas $15 choice of chicken, pork or beef: potato, sweet peppers, anion, salsa verde cruda, salsa endiablada. We chose beef and were happy with our choice, the shell was crispy and slightly flaky while retaining juicy flavor inside. Solid app. Of the sauces the red one had a little kick, the green one was a little sweeter. - California Bowl $16: corn, avocado, queso fresco, cherry tomatoes, iceberg lettuce, cucumbers, jicama, red onion, ranch dressing, served in an edible taco bowl. My friend has this and I didn't try it. - Shrimp Tacos $22: tempura shrimp, refried beans, pepper jack cheese, coleslaw, chile de arbol aioli. The tacos were kinda mid, the tempura shrimp were cooked ok though not great; there were sufficient toppings included though the spiciness of the aioli (which came drizzled on top) blew out the flavor of everything else. I came down here last night because I thought it would be a good time to have Mexican food--it was Cinco de Mayo and all; however, it was a horrible time to have Mexican food. The host said the wait would be at least four hours! "Four hours? Holy shit!" I decided to go home and come back to celebrate Seis de Mayo. I'm so glad I came back. The food here is wonderful. The waiter and others are extremely good, and amazing people. I don't drink much, but my date had a drink and she loved it. We visited on a Saturday around 4 - the cool thing about this place is that they have their bottomless brunch drink option available until 5 pm on the weekends (we did not partake but just fyi) - the downfall to this is that it is incredibly loud during this time. While the music was good, the volume really could have been turned down a notch. The margaritas here are solid. The nachos are good but definitely not the best I've had, the Cauliflower Tacos were decent but needed more flavor, and I think my favorite item of the meal was the Veggie Empanadas. If I could give zero stars, I would. This place is an outright scam disguised as a brunch spot. They charged $18 for three "tacos" that were literally the size of wonton shells -- appetizer-sized bites posing as an entrée. Each taco was maybe two dollars' worth of food, double-fried, greasy, and nowhere near a proper meal. Calling that an entrée is insulting. To make things worse, the restaurant's "bottomless brunch" policy is clearly a trap. I was supposed to have my bar drink deducted as part of the bottomless package, and they simply... didn't. So I ended up paying twice for the same drink. Either incompetence or a deliberate scheme -- neither speaks well of the business. The food was subpar, the portions were laughable, and the pricing borders on unethical. There are too many good brunch places in this city to tolerate this kind of predatory, low-quality operation. I would never return, and I strongly recommend avoiding this place unless you enjoy paying entrée prices for appetizer scraps and getting charged twice for drinks. read more

He said that since we are only ordering appetizers and drinks that is the table we get. I told him that doesn't make sense because I specifically made a reservation for 10 people you should accomodate me for 10 people not 6. He again said that they are having a huge party reservations and that they get accomodated because they are buying dinner. So basically what he told me is that I get this small table where we will all be uncomfortable so they can accommodate the larger party that is spending more money. Wait it gets better! My staff arrived and we were all practically on top of eachother. We couldn't fit all our appetizers and drinks on the table. My supervisor came and I had to ask for another stool where he sat at the very corner and had to eat on his lap. Many of us couldn't enjoy our meal and drinks. We made the best of it though. There was no place to put our purses or jackets it was a hot mess but we tried to have a good time. The guacamole had no taste. The sauce I asked for Mild and it was so hot to eat. The only good thing was the empanadas and the drinks were on point. The waiters were on point as well and very accomodatineg to say the least. Then I asked the same host that there was a table of 4 next to us that was leaving if we can have that table this way I was being accomodated for my 10 people because he sat us in a 6 person table. He said he would check and never got back to me to tell me the table was not available. I will never make a reservation to this establishment again. It was our first time and we have happy hours on a monthly basis but this place was not a good first impression. We spend closet to $500 on appetizers and drinks, I guess this much money spent you will not get accom,modated unless you spend more. The host never came to check on us or ask me how things are going because I told him he made no sense and that this was not acceptable. He would just look at me like I am the problem and his response was well this is what you get! I was embarrassed that my staff had to go through that but they made the best of it. Good Luck. Came back to Toro Loco this weekend and I had a blast! I got to sit in the backyard was cutely decorated. I loved the fact that there was a live Dj & they were doing amazing! There was a mix of hip hop, reggae, afrobeats, Reggaeton, and Billboard top 100 songs. It was a mixed crowd and everyone seemed to be having fun. I had the bottomless margaritas and they were tasty, but just needed a bit more love on the tequila side. For food, we shared chips and guac. The guac was good, and the chips were decent. For the entree, I got the Breakfast Burrito, which turned out to be very good, it was well-seasoned and the size was perfect. The only part I would say is that I'm not too sure if the music was too loud, but our waiter got my friend's entree wrong. However, he was great with accommodating her.
