I came here recently to use a coupon I received in the mail. It happened to be the last day to earn Haute Cash so I picked some stuff out to come back and purchase the next day. I had a lot of items and needed stuff calculated and Jess helped me with all that. She is so nice and has such great customer service. I came back the next day and she was there and she remembered my name and asked me some questions about the conversation we had the previous day. I went here looking for Hello Kitty perfume. Their perfume was on clearance so they ran out of the one I wanted. The associate was so nice, she went online to look for me and looked through each nearby store's stock and called over to another Torrid and asked them to hold the perfume for me. I went ahead and picked up the perfume at the West Covina Torrid, which had equally kind service. I haven't had good service in a clothing store in a long time, so that was surprising. Now, I don't usually shop at Torrid, so cannot comment on their actual clothing, but the employees seem super nice across the board. read more

The customer service at this store is amazing. There is always a happy face and a warm "welcome!" from someone. The tall blonde with short hair (I'm so sorry I don't know your name) is so friendly. I've had two interactions with her with very pleasant and friendly small talk. Like she actually cares!! It's genuine. You can tell when someone just wants to make a sale or is actually interested in you or your needs. She's amazing. I went in today just looking around, maybe to try a few things on. I didn't really expect to buy anything until Sereena started helping me and just sold me on so many things. Just having moved here from another state... I was told about this place by my manager at my apartments. So... I ventured out this morning and went to see what they had to offer. I was greeted by Erika, who was so eager to help me in seeing all they had to offer. She took me on a trip thru the store showing me all sorts of awesome things. The best part was she took the time to "Properly Size me" for a new bra. I am so glad she did because Victoria Secrets was so far off it was bad. Within 3 minutes I was wearing probably the most comfortable bra I have ever worn and it fit so well. Then I found a sweater I wanted to get but they were all out of the size on the floor. She went to the back room and produced the size I needed. After that I found a very cute jacket top and again... off to the back to see if they had my size there... and out she came with it. She was so energetic and helpful... she will definately be my new sales person to go to there and I will be going back there again for sure. Very well organized store, lots to choose from and decent prices too. I also got signed up for a credit card thru them and that saved me money on my first purchase along with a nice $10.00 gift card someone special gave me. I am a true big girl, I am a size 18. I gained my weight rather quickly due to medication, so I never had to shop at a big girl store before. Last Thanksgiving I bought some Torrid clothes online and in the shop. Long story short, everything I bought is falling apart at the seams. Truly. They say they make clothes for big girls, well big girls thighs rub together, but their clothes are so poorly made, they do not take this into account. Plus the buttons fall off easily and the zippers break. Now I am not obese or hideous, just big, and I thought that if I bought my clothes there they would fit and last more than 4 months. But two of my pants have holes, and another pair looks like they are going to go soon too. One of the blouses had some detailing on the front (just a bit of ruffle and ribbon) and that fell off after the first wash. The tall boot cut sizes are too short and the ultra tall bootcut are too long. I will not shop there again. They make a poor product, or they purchase poor products and sell them at a higher price. read more

WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. I absolutely hate this store. Let me put it to you this way, I have never in my life written a bad review online, but I created a Yelp account to tell you how bad this store is. I went to place an order online because I have heard that they have really cute clothes and its my birthday... So I ended up spending around $300 at their store. WHAT THEY DON'T TELL YOU is that when you buy from them online, they charge you DOUBLE whatever it is you're spending. They call this a "temporary authorization hold" which effectively just takes twice the money out of your bank account and it can take up to 30 DAYS!! to be placed back on your account. Being a college student, I obviously cant afford $600 to be charged on my account and because of this I will be late paying my bills. When I called their customer service number to have this taken care of, they were so unbelievably rude, told me it was NOT their problem, there was NOTHING that they could do, it was my BANK'S FAULT that Torrid charged me twice, that I COULDN'T speak to a manager, and they WOULDN'T give me their corporate phone number. So I found the corporate number myself online and called them to complain. (They couldn't be bothered to find the corporate number which took me ten seconds to find online). Corporate took my complaint and then sent me back to the Torrid manager who finally said he would speak to my bank about removing the charges. I just now finished. It has been three hours. read more

I've been shopping at Torrid for years. Although I do love their clothes and selection I can not shop here as much as I would like due to their high cost of clothes. However this is my go to store when I am able to shop there. I recently stopped by this store and was assisted by an employee named Saige. She was very nice and offered to assist me in picking out a few new tops I needed for work. She picked out a couple cute tops for me and offered to open one of their fitting rooms for me. I ended up buying a couple tops she chose and was helped by a friendly cashier. I didn't catch her name but she also offered to look in the back for a pair of shoes I was looking to buy that weren't on the floor. My over all experiences have always been pretty good at this location. I would highly recommend signing up for their email list that way you get their coupons due to the high cost of their merchandise. read more

HATE this store. LOVE torrid clothing. I normally shop at a torrid store closer to me, but I was at my parent's house today and decided to try this one because I had some online clothes I wanted to return. I walk into the store and there's a huge line by the check out and by the dressing room. I told my husband to wait in line and I looked around for things to exchange my online clothes with. Everything was disorganized and a mess. I finally found two things I liked, but wanted to try them on. I waited for 30 minutes and wasn't close to getting to a dressing room. And my husband who was STILL in line to return my online clothes wasn't even up to the check out line. I told him to forget it and we left. He told me that they might have good customer service once your up there, but spend WAY too much time with each customer (he used to work retail). I was in the store for an hour and accomplished nothing. I wasn't able to try on any clothes and we didn't get to return my online items. read more

Recently, I have visited this location quite a few times as I am planning for a trip to NYC and needed cold weather attire that I don't already own. Jess has helped my friend and I each time we came in and she's incredible. She's super friendly and she takes the time to pay attention to you and your needs. We even had a conversation one day about how we would be going hiking later that week, and when we visited the store the following time, she greeted us by name and she mentioned our hike, asking us how it was. SUPER! I have been shopping at this location for a little over a decade now, starting back when I was a freshman in high school; Torrid was the only place that carried jeans my size (the largest I've ever been). To this day, I still enjoy shopping at this location over any other. The staff overall is exceptional. They constantly treat your shopping experience with personal detail, making sure they fit your needs and suggest things they think would look great on you. Being a manager in the retail industry, not only do I appreciate the level of customer experience they offer, I also appreciate the "serve your future needs" type selling they accomplish with every visit. I have been shopping at torrid since they opened. All of the older associates who have been there a long time are rude. They have never treated me nice, or any of the other Customers. I was in there recently and listening to the way Jessica talks to the associates makes me feel so bad for them. No one deserves that. Especially not the people who are giving the customers there enjoyable experience. All of the new, seasonal girls where so polite and insanely nice. I feel bad that these girls night rub off on them... Stay strong seasonal girls. There's so much better out there and thank you for giving me and my family and friends a nice experience. I recently went shopping at this location with a friend doing some wedding shopping. While there I realized corporate was redoing the whole setup of the store. Everything I was picking out for myself were rompers. I'm 5'11 and extremely curvy and every romper I've ever tried on has gone up my butt and front. Even if I'm not getting a wedgy of death, they are still incredibly unflattering on my body. I personally know zero plus sized girls who will wear rompers. Even my size medium friends won't wear them because they are so unflattering. Since corporate was in the store I decided to suggest less rompers. I didn't say zero, just less. Well I was yelled at for saying this then told that they have to carry things for everyone, not just me. I apologized for giving my opinion as a consumer and left. This visit reminded me why I switched over to F21 the second they started carrying plus sized clothes. I rarely step foot in a Torrid these days and I definitely will never shop at the Brea location again. Ps if corporate is ever in store don't waste your time trying to talk to them. I find some of these reviews funny "oh I came in 10 mins until closing" I work retail and if you know they are closing why would you come in so late that's your own issue another one said something about a hold on their credit card how is that brea fault? I have been to plenty of torrids and I refuse to go anywhere but brea! They are always friendly and always helping me I come in a lot I order a lot online and have to return a lot sometimes and they never make me feel bad! I absolutely love torrid! i have to admit that I was one of those girls who would never shop in torrid because I thought they were overpriced and it just wasn't worth it. But I have definitely been converted because of a friend that took me in there one time. Although I still think they can be pricey, they have awesome sales, especially when you can earn haute cash which is pretty much 80 percent of the time. The staff here is soo friendly! I have shopped here so frequently that they know me by name and really make me feel welcomed each time I stop in! Even though they are not the cheapest, you can not beat the quality of their clothing. Being plus size can be challenging because there are not as many places to shop, but this store has everything you need and is true to their sizing! I've been shopping at torrid in brea since it opened. I've always loved the torrid brand and this store in particular. That all changed a few years ago when I came in and received terrible customer service about a year ago. Since then I've only purchased from torrid.com to avoid having another terrible experience like I did before. I placed an order online last week and when my items arrived I wasn't thrilled with two of them. I decided to go into the brea torrid to try and exchange them for something else. I shopped around for a few minutes before I picked my replacement items and went to the register. Once there, I pulled out the two items and my packing receipt. I was asked if there was anything Wrong with the items, I said no they just didn't work for me. I was asked again a few minutes later why I was returning them. I repeated myself and added that the patterns didn't work for me. I felt like I was being chastised for returning two items WITH A RECEIPT. I'm not sure where the shift happened with this store, but it definitely isn't what it used to be. I give it two stars because I love torrid, but if my review was based on customer service only, they'd get 1 star. read more
