Went there this evening needing something specific. Right away we were greeted by their friendly employees, who all were helping me find this certain item. I left to go check out another store just to make sure I didn't leave any stone unturned. After a disappointing experience at Lane Bryant, I wound up right back at Torrid. I bought what I needed, plus a bonus item (blouse and leggings) for a really reasonable price. Honestly, I was expecting to pay more than what I did. Thank you, ladies, for a great experience. I absolutely love torrid! The clothes were made by big girls for big girls. (Not skinny people for big girls) torrid clothes fit like clothes should fit! Yes they are pricey but they always have sales and deals so take advantage of them! And Haute Cash (money you get back to spend there at a later time) City Chic is like nextdoor inside the Galleria on Tyler but it's way more expensive than Torrid. I just left this location and I am about to go out of my way to the Ontario location because the 4+ women that are working pick and choose who they want to help. I walked in the greeter didn't greet me ok no big deal, but she greeted the lady that walked in after me. Walked past two more people they looked right thru me didn't say a word. I'm looking for a bra and looking around at the same time for help, a girl with green hair walks to the lady across me ask how she was doing, helps her then walks about to the area and walks right past me. I was in that store for over 10 min the manger didn't even say anything! I managed a clothing store for over 6 years greeting people sets the tone for the customers experience. As a big girl it's hard to find nice clothe that fit, thank you torrid! This is store has great outfits and they also have shoes in my hard to find size (11) the staff is fantastic. Everyone is very helpful, you pretty much get the royal treatment when you come in, the clothe rang from business to punk rock chick. The only thing is that it is very pricey, but they do have haut cash which is basically when you spend 50 you get a 25$ card towards your next purchase. I n ended up getting 100$ in haut cash and use them all at one on some new outfits. read more

Reallllllly cute plus sized clothes! But some of the prices were like daaang I can't justify paying that much. I found these crazy cute boyfriend jeans in my size, but they were $98. I was bummed. Other than that they have lots of cute stylish clothes and I will definitely be back for more! I came here for the first time over the weekend and had a pleasant experience. All of the employees were extremely friendly and helpful! The only thing I was disappointed by was the size of the store, it's tiny! This is an okay, average Torrid. They don't seem to carry the larger bra sizes. I've gone in a few times and for some reason, this location carries a ton of the Disney stuff, which I'm not a fan of. Also, their intimates and clearance sections are tiny. If you can, I suggest going to the location in the Outlets at Orange. They carry the push-up bras for $25 instead of $48.50 and have a wider selection. However, if you're just getting jeans and regular clothing, this location will be fine. read more

I received a gift card for Christmas and purchased 2 tops one was shipped to me and I received an email letting me know that you other top they no longer had in my size. As if that wasn't annoying enough they were supposed to credit the money back to my gift card. When I called to see if the money was on the gift card it in fact says it is but when I try to order something it says there is no money on the gift card. I've called torrid customer service at least 5 times and have got the run around. Money still is not on my gift card. I've been told that I would be followed up with and have heard from no one. Ridiculous it should not take this long to put the money back onto the card. Disappointed to say the least. read more

I have only been this torrid twice before. I like how the ladies here don't give you and awkward vibes for it being a big girl store too. Stopped by today cause I saw an employee working in the store wearing some cute shoes i had seen online, and I walked in to ask about my size. The girl brought out a pair for me to try and I told her they were to big and she told me they didnt really make smaller sizes but said that the ones she was wearing were also too big but they fit fine. I told her I wanted these shoes for work and that I work in a hair salon so long periods of standing/walking is what my day consist of. I can't be walking around with shoes that don't fit that's just weird, so I apologized to her and told her I wouldn't be taking the shoes because of the size, she gave me and attitude and grabbed the shoes back. Her tone changed and I turned to leave and said thanks anyway and she just gave me a dirty look. This store has cute stuff, that's the reason for two stars. But the customer service was not good and the shoes were like $75, I am sorry but people should t feel pressured into spending that kind of money on some shoes that don't even fit. read more

The two stars is for the stores over all bad attitude. Had a rude encounter with one of their cashiers. So I stopped shopping at this location for about 1 year. I needed to get a few gifts this holiday and had an amazing experience with one of their floor associates jasmine, she had such an upbeat attitude and very professional. Selection is good but if I'm making a return I don't want to be asked by the manager (who was cashier at the time) I don't want to be asked why. I love Torrid and the clothes, but the level of customer service at the Torrid location at the Tyler Galleria is awful. The newer employees and manager, rather just sit around and complain, and they don't even try to be helpful or show any enthusiasm. I asked for help in seeing if there was a size on the top hanging shelf, and the employee sighed and didn't even want to check, and just said no I don't think so. I had to ask to try on the next size down, which she begrudgingly did. When I was ready to check out, the manager assisted in the checking out process, and got very frustrated at the fact I was asking questions about the price for a current promo going on. It's not even worth the time to try on in person at this location, as it's no longer about the customer. Before, all the staff new my name, made me feel welcomed, made suggestions, and wanted to be helpful, which this location no longer does since most of those staff members left. They need to bring back employees that want to be there and help the customers, like Cedrina and Lindsey always did. read more

Although my fiancée has shopped with Torrid for years today's experience was lackluster to say the least. Considering that it's the day after Black Friday the store was extraordinarily quiet. In other words plenty of sales personnel to accommodate the shoppers. With "proof" of purchasing a bride's maid dress, unworn, with orig price tag ($189.00 w/tax) still attached, but 5 months from date of purchase, along w/a call previous to driving 40 miles to store. Re this phone call: a mgr told my fiancée that they DO MAKE EXCEPTIONS AT TIMES when an item is beyond the 90-day return policy, to just come on in with dress and paperwork. Back to experience with staff, more importantly the store mgr Diana: She told my fiancée that the best she could do was offer her $4.99, because item was beyond Torrid's return policy (seemingly to ignore my fiancée's pleas regarding phone conversation w/mgr two weeks prior. $4.99, are you kidding me?!? My silent thoughts btw. To add further insult to injury fiancée had a pair of leggings to return. Of which they did, but when she found a pair of earrings to use "that" store credit on Diana (store mgr, remember?) was asked by the clerk at the cash register to take an earring back (one was missing from the last & only pr fiancée found). So lazy was Diana that when my fiancée asked that they please match... ya know silver and silver. NOT hold and silver backs. She blew it off and took the easier softer way. I guess to accommodate "herself". I'm so angry right now. I will be contacting Torrid at the highest level they "care" to listen to our experience. I still can't get over the mgr offering .0266% of original value of bridesmaid's dress. read more
