I am giving them 3.5 actually. The Cuban and carnitas street tacos were delicious. But The beans were extremely pasty with no flavor. I feel like they thickened what was left to get through the day. I will come back, the menu is huge! Hopefully next time the beans are better. read more

Wow this place used to be great the food was delicious and you could tell it was made with care, not the case any more I'm not sure if it was sold or what but the food is definitely not what it used to.. Still on the hunt for a good authentic taco joint in Chandler/Mesa area. After not finding a taco truck, I stopped by this place. Tried the Asada, Adobada, and tripas. The meat for the asada and asobada was cold so apparently it had been sitting there for a while. They also lacked flavor, no seasoning whatsover. The tripas were nowhere near being cooked all the way you can tell just by touching them so those went straight in the trash. No return trip planned. read more

I wasn't even in the mood to eat, i had just eaten and was full but once i got a whiff of the torta de hamon and carne asada i decided to eat again and MAN was it worth the bloated stomach LOL. The sandwiches are big, very fresh, the steak fries are awesome, and the aguas frescas are made from real frutas or rice, not from mix packets. Ive gone back several times and never disapointed yet! Definitely worth every penny; its a mom and pop shop i would endorse with my own money if i had some! read more

I've lived in this neighborhood for 30 years and have tried just about every little Mexican place that has come and gone over the years. Tortas La Presa is my go to place for the real thing. The food is so much like the good dishes I use to get in El Paso and Juarez at friends homes and the little small shops, that I fell in love with at first bite. I've had about a 1/3 of the items on the menu and nothing has disappointed me. I'll admit that I don't eat normally eat anything but muscle meat, so tripe, brains and such are out. You'll have to try those yourself. My 3 favorite dishes are the Cubana Harancha, Shrimp Soup and the Al Pastor Marinated Pork) in Tacos or Burritos. Delicious. Tons of meat on both. The Chorizo con Papas is very good also. I know it's good, because so many of my neighbors come here. You won't be disappointed if you know anything about good Central American food. read more

I stopped because the taco truck I usually go to (El bigo taco) wasnt in it's usual location. I ordered a burrito and tacos to go. I haven't been here in many years so I thought the food was still good... Let me just say GROSS. This place is by far the worst "authentic Mexican food" I've been to. I'd rather go to Taco Bell. The meat was cold and it tasted like it was cooked with dirty water. It had like a sewer-smell type taste. The cilantro and onions were so damn old that the cilantro was brown. The only positive thing I can say about it was the tortilla on the tacos. That was delicious, it tasted homemade. But other than that nooope. Oh and I should have figured it was bad because the "salsa bar" was so damn dirty, but I still took that chance. Never going back there again. read more

I was craving a breakfast burrito so I stopped by. I went to the drive through and there is one truck in front of me at the window. The guy comes out and takes my order. I really wanted a bacon breakfast burrito. He says they didn't have bacon. So I order a potato, egg and cheese burrito. While I'm waiting I notice the drive through sign has printed out and taped on prices, all of which are close to falling off. And the building is in serious need of repair. No worries, it's a "hole in the wall" from what I've read. I waited, waited and waited some more. After 15 minutes (and no cars behind me the thank goodness), I backed up and left. Went a couple miles away to run some errands. Drove by and noticed the same truck sitting at the window...20 minutes later. No cars behind that one. read more

This restaurant is very hole in the wall-ish but don't let the looks fool you. There is amazing food to be had inside. My bf and I ordered an Arizona torta, Cubana Huarache (had no idea what this was, the name intrigued me), and a Carne Asada Quesadilla to share. Our eyes must've been bigger than our stomache because we had enough food for days! The torta was good. Bread was toasty. It came with lettuce, tomatoes, avocado slices, jalapenos, ham, chicken, and a fried egg. Fries came on the side with the sandwich. The huarache was enormous! It was like a giant sope. Grilled oblong shaped masa topped with deliciousness. There was a thin spread of beans and large amounts of different flavorful meats that were generously sprinkled on top. It was my first time having a huarache and I am now a serious fan. The carne asada quesadilla was also good. I never had a quesadilla with carne, beans and avocado but I thought this combination of flavors worked really well. My bf really enjoyed it. He says its the best quesadilla he's ever had. Everything we had was great. Portions were large. We spent about $30 and were stuffed to food coma status. We even had leftovers for lunch and dinner the next day! Minus one star for the cleanliness of this place. Some people may be a bit put off by the esthetics of the place but if you can look past glitz and glamour, I'd highly recommend you try this place. read more

Sex on bread! My friend and I discovered this gem while going to Moreno's and figured we would give it a shot. The Torta Dominicana is a coma inducing pile of awesome served on hot fresh bread. Imagine this please! Breaded steak, ham, refried beans, avocado, tomato, grilled chilis, and onions stacked high and blessed with hot sauce. Thinking about it takes me to my happy-place and makes the back of my head sweat (just like the sandwiches). Definitely try the Dominicana with breaded chicken instead of beef. Ordered the rolled tacos after seeing the picture of them here on Yelp. I'm a Monterey Jack type of gal and always in pursuit of a Mexican place in Arizona that serves it on their food. My rolled tacos were sadly served with the yellow mixed cheese that is common around these parts. I did enjoy them with the green salsa though, either way. I ordered my daughter a bean and cheese burrito and actually enjoyed that more. The tortilla and beans had great flavor. This place is awful poor customer service and the food is over priced and on top of that greasy i went there last night and wasnt given correct change and when i asked the cashier for the price on the food she got defensive and angry so i asked for my money back and said she couldn't return my money because food was already cooking i dont recommend this place at all thumbs down. read more
