We come here relatively often, as it's across the street from the office. There isn't much to the decor, but it's certainly nice enough. There is not a lunch menu, so the portions are normal portions, and quite large.bib always have next day lunch. I ordered my favorite, the pad see ew. It really is delicious here. I can't remember what my friend had, but it was full of veggies and looked really good. I think we each paid around $16 for our entree. read more

Nunthaporn is a delightful Thai restaurant located in the heart of Mesa on Main Street. There is free street parking in front and back of the store. There is also a large free parking lot a few steps away from the restaurant. We entered through the back entrance and were greeted by staff. You may sit in a booth or table for larger parties. I wanted some noodles and selected a Pad See Mao and my friend got basil fried rice. I ordered mild spice snd she ordered medium. Both meals arrived shortly. The fragrance coming from the meals was divine. The taste was even better. The mild spice had a slight kick and the medium did as well. The spicy level did not linger long. Went to Nunthaporn to eat dinner before a show at Mesa Arts Center. It's hands down the BEST Thai food we've ever had in Arizona!!! The restaurant itself doesn't look like anything special, but the food is phenomenal. I had the Tom Ka Gai Soup with Shrimp, it was Delicious and the Vegetable Pad See-Ew Noodles, they were outstanding. Loved all the flavors. Our server was a really nice lady. The restaurant was packed, I'm sure with the theater rush. We will definitely be back next time we're in Mesa! read more

DONT COME OR eat here. I got here an hour before closing and the waitress is so RUDE. I wanted to order appetizers she said nothing was available but one option but i called before to order take out & the options were still there..... OK i thought maybe since its slow the chef told her he wants to close the kitchen Not to mention i was joining my family here & she did not offer me the menu or anything to drink. This is a small hole in the wall place in downtown Mesa. What it lacks in elegance it more than makes up for in both great food and friendly and efficient service. My parents come to this place often and I can see why. I was first struck by the friendliness of the staff. They truly enjoy what they are doing. They have a diverse menu and I am sure you can find something you want. They have Vegetarian, Vegan, and Gluten free options, and of course thing for the Carnivores of us. We decided to go family style which was great so I could try more of the food. My only regret is I lack the time to try more menu I tens before I go home. The food was so delicious. They also have large portions which was great because I missed lunch and needed a large dinner. So if you are in the area and are hungry then you need to eat here. read more

This locality is not usually our hangout spot but as we were here for some work and it was lunch hour we decided to explore a Thai restaurant around. The restaurant had decent reviews so went ahead and gave it a try. The parking can be a little difficult as it's street parking with a meter. Seems to be a busy area. There was ample seating at the restaurant and no waiting time. I ordered the vegan pad Thai and absolutely loved it. It was just how spicy I wanted it to be. My husband ordered cashew chicken with brown rice. Initially he asked for fried rice instead of brown as some Thai restaurants in the valley offer it as lunch special but he was told that this is not a Chinese restaurant by the server. I don't know why but the way the server felt offended made me giggle. Overall a nice place offering good food. I will definitely visit if I'm in the area read more

Shrimp & cream cheese spring rolls! $6 glasses of wine! We found this place when searching for a dinner spot before a show at the nearby Mesa Arts Center. There was a short wait, and we were seated in a booth. The decor is minimal, and I can't recall anything of note. Their "bar" was a shelf on the wall near the kitchen with bottles of liquor on display! We shared the shrimp spring rolls, which were delicious! The sauce accompaniment was great too. We split the pineapple fried rice with chicken entree, and it was plenty for 2. It was good, tho I felt that the raisins were a weird ingredient. 12/9/23: highly recommend Nunthaporn's. Why not 5-stars? They did not have sticky rice or Thai custard for dessert (yes, we went to another Thai place for this) :-) . Four of us stopped in Saturday at 4:30. Cute little place that we discovered is bigger than what we saw - as we walked out after dinner down the street, we saw they had a whole second dining room. They have a small parking lot immediately behind their place, but there is also parking out front (if you want to brave Main Street), and also plenty of free city parking lots southwest of their building. The young gal who took our order was very nice, and repeated our orders as we gave them to her and even did so again after we all had ordered. The food did not come out quickly, so cool your jets if you're in a hurry, but it also did not take overly long to come out - it all came out hot and well presented. The gal who delivered it was different and she did not seem all that happy to be working. We did all enjoy our food although we were all surprised at lack of spiciness to the dishes. Point of note, yes, we did all say mild, but at other Thai places mild still is pretty darn spicy (for us). Nunthaporn's was lacking in that kick so when we return, we will definitely go for more spice. Maybe when we return, they will actually have dessert. read more

I wanted to check out Nunthaporn's Thai Cuisine, so I asked my son and his boyfriend to join me for dinner so off we went! We arrived on a Tuesday evening and was greeted right away; everyone was so friendly, and service was great! After checking out the menu I knew I wanted to start off with spring rolls and a Thai tea, after that I ordered pad Thai with chicken for my main. The Thai tea was perfectly sweet, and it was pretty to look at until I blended it haha. The spring rolls didn't last long, they were a very tasty app. But the pad Thai was some the best Pad Thai I have had in a long time, so dang good. Everyone ordered something different and loved their dishes. I honestly can't wait to go back to try more of the dishes. If in the downtown Mesa area go give them a try! read more

I've enjoyed Thai food in Thailand, in many of America's major cities and in world capitals. Nunthaporn's was a very surprising and welcome Thai food eatery in downtown Mesa, AZ. I ordered the very-spicy version of Red Curry with chicken and my mom ordered the a less-spicy version of same dish. We both thoroughly enjoyed our red curry accompanied with jasmine rice and recommend to anyone who reads this review. I will return to Nunthaporn's and increase my support of downtown Mesa that is quite beautiful but sadly featuring many empty storefronts, quite possibly due to COVID lockdowns that devastated many of our country's small businesses. Flavorful Thai food is being served at Nunthaporn's Thai Cuisine and I encourage all to give it a go. read more

Came here on a whim because I wanted pad Thai and figured I'd try this place before we move. Oh my gosh it's soooo good. Totally authentic Thai. This spot is a hidden gem! The food, the service, the experience in general is flawless. They do have a lunch menu and a dinner menu. The lunch menu is more condensed. A simple ask for the dinner menu and they'll be more than happy to give it to you. I mean that impeccable service. I got the Thai curry with noodles (dinner menu), and if you've ever had khao soi that's what the dish is. Curry was flavorful and not to coconutity. We also order the spring rolls. You could tell those were homemade because the inside did have sort of a curry flavor to it. Anyways don't go to your default Thai place try this place out because it's worth it! ENJOY! read more

This was not what I was expecting. I got chicken pad Thai takeout, and I've had my fair share of pad Thais. First of all, this one had absolutely no scallions. It was missing a key ingredient. Second, the portion was small. I finished it all and was actually still hungry. Third, I asked for the bean sprouts to be on the side, and they flat-out said "no." Umm okay. And fourth, the prices are really high for a casual Thai place. One basic entree was $18, when normally it's much less. First time eating here, Thursday lunch. We arrived at 1230, and were seated immediately. The decor is nice, attractive and understated. So many restaurants are over decorated, this was a pleasant change. It looks very tasteful. We had an appetizer of chicken satay and won ton soup. The chicken was tender and nicely marinated, served with peanut sauce, onion and cucumber. The soup had a good number of won tons and chicken. I appreciated it wasn't too hot, perfect temperature. Entrée of chicken garlic lover was very tasty, served with brown jasmine rice. It had a really nice sauce, lots of garlic. Entrée of pad ke Mao was my favorite. The noodles weren't sticky, and the dish wasn't overly sauced. All plates are spiced to individual order. Perhaps the best I've had in America. While it appears to be family-owned, so I'm sure the recipes are traditional, it tasted as though the ingredients were more American/off-the-shelf, with noodles, for example, only being spicy by adding chili paste or pad see ew tasting overwhelmingly of soy sauce. Worst service ever! Was sat down for 15min minimum with no service. No drink order even. It was 1pm on a Wednesday and not even busy. But after the waitress who sat me down literally looked at me three times and still didn't come to get even my drink order, I was over this place! We ordered takeout several times from this place and we loved the food so we decided to dine-in and we were so disappointed. We asked the server, an old gentleman, for a recommendation and he said he couldn't give us any because he was tired of the food there and he didn't like anything. About the spiciest that I would like but is still doable. I don't think they use coconut milk with their green curry, at least it didn't taste as sweet and as thick in the sauce, but that's a personal preference. Overall decent green curry. A good size bowl as well. 1 bowl of rice is definitely not enough. But you can to go it. Pad se ew was as expected. Pricing - Overpriced compared to other competitors. Charged for extra rice during lunch, but lunch mentions it serves with rice. False advertising and when we spoke with the manager/owner - they argued. Charged extra for substituting a vegetable. They charge you for everything and anything not mentioned either - be careful! Food is mediocre - bland, ordering their spicy is equivalent to a mild. We couldn't order anything besides the lunch menu. Atmosphere - it smelled when we dined in, had a weird funk. I'm not going to lie , when I first went inside the restaurant I was going to leave but decided to give it a chance and I'm so glad that I did. The restaurant was pretty empty but with it being empty we were able to get assisted very quickly and good came out fast. Everything was delicious but the best dish was definitely the 3 sauce tilapia. I've never had fish be so flavorful. Only thing I do have to say is to keep in mind what spice level you request because thai spice can be very hot. Will definitely be coming back read more

Been wanting to try this place for years. Finally got a lunch invite from a work associate. Started with Thai iced tea. Have had better. Small bowl of Tom yum Kha, coconut, chicken, lemongrass, soup. Chicken was good, but half the bowl was inedible, full of leaves, twigs and other flavoring ingredients. Main dish, green curry with beef. Green beans could have used another couple of minutes cooking, very crunchy. Broth very thin. Flavor okay. Thai lunches usually include an egg roll, or wontons. Not here. Found the food to be rather disappointing. I truly love good Thai flavors, seemed to be missing something here. Not a bad place, but not a great place IMHO. read more
