I've been wanting to try this place for a long time, I was very disappointed, I placed my order and I waited and waited and waited, then I realized 40 minutes had passed. Went to find out what was taking so long and was told they were short one person, meantime there was still 5 people in front of me waiting. So I asked for my money back, he tried to credit my debit card and couldn't give me a receipt and told me to call back later, I said it wasn't good enough, then he threw me a $20 and walked away. That is the worst customer service I have ever experienced. So if you want to wait an hour for a Torta be my guest. read more

Great food reasonably priced! Not every places has sopes or mole enchiladas & both of these items are here! Just missing the aguas frescas!

Nice family owned place. Very small, there is seating outside. The food is decent. Get the chicken tostada.

I come here for lunch at least once a week, well, I try to. The burritos are tasty, love the grilled cheese they use. The tacos de papa are pretty tasty. They have a pretty big menu, which is nice; gotta love variety. Only downside is parking. Although they ARE a block away from the goldline station so that issue can be circumvented. Prices are decent for old town Pasadena. Awesome for quick lunch, I prefer take out. Service is very friendly, and food is made quickly to order. read more

This place is awesome!! My husband and I went to this place for the first time and loved it. We have been craving tortas for the longest time so it was nice to get our tortas fix hehe. I ordered the bean and cheese torta which comes with: avocado, tomato, cheese, lettuce, and jalapeños. He ordered the same one but his had turkey. The service was great. i don't give many four-star ratings to places that serve lukewarm food, but there's the exception for great-tasting stuff. me and the gf hit this little hole-in-the-wall after arriving from a week-plus stay with my sister in no-cal. first of all, they got the best chile relleno ever. made to order and covered with a fresh tomato sauce. one of only a couple things served hot. i've never seen it produced with so much care. yummy. their moist, light, fluffy tamales are interesting as well. not as dense and heavy as most tamales yet with the same flavor. great taste, less filling. the gf's room temperature mole enchilada plate and my equally tepid carnitas were the only minor disappointments of the meal. but it was so good that the lack of warmth was only a slight inconvenience. the refried beans, rice, and jamaica agua fresca were full of the homemade goodness that makes this place so great. the establishment is a shoebox with a few tables inside and out in an adjacent courtyard. the lady at the counter was so nice and did a great job balancing her server duties with answering our questions about various photos lining the walls. definitely looking forward to trying their namesake tortas next time.... read more

I had a very good experience at the Pasadena Tortas Mexico. Its on Fair Oaks, 2 blocks north of Colorado in Old Pas. It is a tiny place, about 5 small tables. Let me cut to the chase, they have excellent tortas for about $5 each ($4.75). Their best by far is the #14 "al-Pastor". Al Pastor means "shepherd style" and it is slow cooked pork. The pork was tender and perfectly spiced (just enough) and the bread was very, very fresh. The fixings (tomato, avocado, etc . . . all good stuff). I cannot comment on every item, because I am hooked on the torta al pastor (remember #14, unless they've changed). I can also vouch for the Milanesa (breaded steak) torta as well. Solid, as is the Cubano (Ham, Pork tenderloin, etc . . .). Again, the key to a great sandwich is very fresh bread, and this place uses very, very fresh bread and fresh ingredients. All in all, a very good sandwich and a great price. I also noted they have "chilaquiles" on the menu, that is great hangover food. read more

I ordered a carnitas burrito and didn't get carnitas. I was half way back to work and realized they didn't give me my drink either. It wasn't busy so I don't understand how that could slip someone's mind. If it were busy I understand but it was lonely. Not satisfied, never coming back again. Their red salsa was gross. read more

Tiny place next to Lula Mae's on Fair Oaks. Went in and tried the carne asada quesadilla. It came with guacamole, pico de gallo and sour cream. Pretty big portion filled with lots of carne asada. This was really good, didn't eat the edges as they were dry and hard. Otherwise, pretty delish. Would go back again..quesadilla and a small drink cost about $9. Good cheap lunch that keeps me full til dinner. Works for me. read more

If I wanted lettuce wrapped in a tortilla I would have gone to the super market myself and saved 5 dollars. This is my second time here. It is becoming my favorite Mexican restaurant. This time I had Cubana torta and my son had chile relleno combo. Both were very good. Their horchata as well as flan and rice pudding are homemade. Service is warm and friendly. It is family owned and beats all the chain Mexican restaurants. read more

A small restaurant around the corner from king taco in Pasadena is a must try. The place is cozy and the tortas are delicious. I only give it four stars because is lacking a good salsa. Thats a biggie for me because Mexican food without a good salsa is like asian food without rice read more
