There an hour before closing. Ordered a tongue taco and pork tamale combo with $8 queso and chips. Asked him to insure queso was hot. Good indicator I was planning to eat there. I have tried several times to write a review and be nice about it because I personally like the owner. I find tortillería García to be flavorless. I have tried the following: al pastor, asada, and the chicken. They add so much cilantro, onions, and pico so people don't notice that they do not give you any meat. It is absolutely ridiculous! Their rice, beans and tortillas are "ok" (nothing special). I came to eat here today for their taco Tuesday and it was packed! (that doesn't mean the food is good) the food just doesn't hit the spot! I paid $5 for chips and Guac. Their chips were over fried so they were hard to chew. DON'T spend your money on that. Chipotle's guac is so much better. Will I be back? Prob not! Welcome to Mason TG!!!! So happy to have you here! This is now my favorite out of the 3 locations around Greater Cincinnati. It is such a great local family run business that is a glowing addition to Mason. The storefront here has ample parking, is easy to access from the highway, and is bright and spacious inside. The staff here were just as welcoming and helpful as I am used to. When you walk in there is a bright and easily visible menu board right above a cooler case full of drinks, deserts, and more. To the left of this are the cash registers for ordering. I went with my favorites from TG: the Carnitas Nachos (with their house made chips &all the toppings), the chicken tamales, flan, and when I asked for the aqua de Jamaica they asked cup or gallon... umm you sell this amazing drink in BULK?! Yesss give me all the agua! Don't forget to ask for their Salsa Verde, that is my favorite (Green). It is flavorful and just the right amount of spice! Food pickup is at the end of the line. Everything was delicious and traveled well as I got it to go. This is by far my favorite Mexican around! They have the best Nachos, Flan, Tamales, and Agua ive ever had. On this visit I didn't get it, but the Tres leches is amazing too! Also, if they ever offer up any specials such as Elote or Birria tacos, JUMP ON IT. They go quick, and they are perfection! They don't even deserve 1 star. I've been several times. The staff is very unprofessional (likes to talk bs thinking Americans don't understand.) They act like u wanna steal a lousy side of rice bc they forgot to give it to you. The worst part, the food sucks. The meat has been sitting there for who knows how long. So I typically go to the College Hill Tortilleria Garcia and have had very pleasant experiences there. I absolutely love their Al Pastor and shrimp tacos. They also are usually very friendly and helpful at the coutner. However, this location was different. It still had its vibrant decor, but the staff was not friendly. When I walked up to the counter to order no one greeted me. I had to tell them I was ready to place my order. I placed my usual order of three tacos: 1 chicken al pastor and 1 shrimp. I asked for cilantro, onions, and limes for my taco toppings. They weren't busy and my order came out quickly. The tacos were hot and tasted fresh, but what was odd was that everything tasted the same. All three tacos had the same taste and looked like they had the same seasoning. I even decided to buy a La Croix to make sure I didn't lose my taste/smell to COVID because of how similar everything tasted. I think this was a mistake because this has never happened before. Also unfortunately the chicken was very dry. I, unfortunately, do not plan on going back to this location and will stick to the one in College Hill. read more

We had an excellent experience with Tortilleria Garcia for our daughter's graduation party. Everyone loved the fresh ingredients, the chips, the meat and the sauces. They were very attentive and great to deal with. I ordered several weeks early and meant to call and confirm, but no need to because they called to confirm with me! I paid extra for delivery, and they were on time and set everything up for me. Very well worth it on a busy day. 100% recommend them. This is a nice easy to find Mexican place with lots of parking. The menu has items like tacos, burritos, chicken, tamales, nachos and quesadillas. I liked the steak and chicken tacos I had. The corn tortillas they were wrapped in tasted authentic and homemade. You can choose what you want on taco- lettuce, tomato, onions, sour cream, etc. My platter included generous portions of refried beans and rice. In addition to the beverage soda machine they have a cooler with a large selection of authentic Mexican soda pop. Mexican music and a bright cheery decor made it a pleasant atmosphere. One of my favorite Mexican spots in NE Cincinnati. The service is great, the food is always fresh and the atmosphere is perfect for their vibe. My wife had the special taco (shrimp and mahi-mahi) and I had a Quesadilla Pollo. Both of us left happy and full. Very fair (but not outrageous) portions. For my wife's birthday we got a Fiesta (catering) carryout and I can not say enough good things about it. The tortillas were amazing, the portions were generous, and the taste will make you eat that one extra taco you know you shouldn't but can't resist. Ask about the compenchano. It is a great upgrade to the already solid carnitas and carne asada. If you are planning a business lunch or family get together, this is the taco bar you need. This is specifically a review for the Mason location, I have been to both the original and location and this one once before. I really enjoyed the location in Cincinnati quite a lot, and thought the food was decent at the Mason location but I didn't even make the connection the restaurants were connected somehow. I enjoyed it okay the first time around, but this time was absolutely horrible. I got the shrimp and pastor taco combo platter. Rice was not fresh, beans were not fresh. The tortillas are HUGE but they don't even fill them up so you're eating lots of flavorless corn tortillas which aren't even warmed up on the grill (it's like eating a loaf of dry bread). The meat wasn't good either, tasteless and the pastor was so greasy it dripped out of my shell a bright red-orange hue, gross. Taco combo was $7 ($1.67 for beans and rice up charge seems ridiculous) and after you add two toppings it was $12! Those toppings i chose? Onion and cilantro, which are normally free, were over $4! And it was hands down the worst taco I've had in a very long time.. Go to a gas station taco truck and or literally anywhere else. Never coming back here. I will return to the other location, but I honestly don't know what happened here, it's like a Bucca Di Beppo ghost kitchen serving greasy day old food with the Garcia name and at a ludicrous price. This is quite possibly the absolute worst Mexican restaurant I have visited. I went with three different tacos since it was taco Tuesday and a side of refried beans. The chicken, steak and pork with pineapple were all quite tasteless and were not warm at all. The worst was probably the steak however, which was fatty (not in a good way) and really hard to chew - I ended up spitting out a majority of the steak. On the tacos I also went with pico de gallo amongst a few other toppings, but the pico seemed as if it had been made three days ago. The tomatoes in it were potentially a day or two away from growing mold as they were off tasting and no longer had a fresh, crisp texture to them. The beans were, in my opinion the best part of the meal, although they definitely didn't taste authentic. All of this paired with the difficulty to order at the counter add up for quite a subpar experience. No way I will be returning here to eat. read more
