Go to Mill Creek instead! I'm a die hard Toshi's fan and frequent the Mill Creek location regularly. This Everett location has nothing in common with it except the name. Even the menu is different. I am very disappointed with the sub par teriyaki I just had from this Everett location. The chicken was obviously in a warmer instead of cooked fresh; it wasn't tender or juicy. I was shocked at how fast my food was ready, and I realized this is why. The rice was gummy and seemed like it had been sitting awhile too. The sauce tastes like it's from a bottle, very syrupy. This is the kind of teriyaki that you get from any average strip mall or food court. But if you want really friggin good teriyaki made by a pro (Toshi himself), skip this one and go to Mill Creek. I was hoping the other locations were the same menu and the same recipes, even if Toshi isn't the one cooking. But now that I know the name is just the name. Wow.... great flavors- Menu selection was just right without too many items. The interior was simple and space adequate for around maybe 20 people. Parking was ample and signage was quite visible. We ordered chicken and pork teriyaki. The flavors were wonderful; Teriyaki with a hint of ginger and garlic. The meats were cooked perfect, not too dry and not too chewy. I'm a big eater and would have wanted better portions. The dressing on the salad was subtle and tasted great. Overall, my experience here was great. I truly have no idea where my food at this restaurant came from. And by that, I mean that I don't even know whether this food was cooked properly. I saw no fires and I heard no sizzling in the kitchen, but at least my food came out right, so I'll give them a pass. I just don't know how they did it. First of all, I'm disappointed with the portions of my meal. Judging by the picture menu that they have clearly hanging up on the wall, I should have received a lot more food, but I didn't. That's a real shame because I kind of used that very picture menu to decide what I was getting. I ordered something very simple, a large plate of chicken and pork teriyaki for $7.25. But even a large plate was smaller than what was depicted on the menu. They could have given me more, but it was okay. Some chicken, some pork, two scoops of white rice, and some salad. Not really special and definitely not filling, but it was so cheap that I feel a negative review would just be nitpicking too much. read more

I've been going to this same location for over thirteen years, it's wonderful. They're always so nice, the food is absolutely delicious, and they are prompt. I get the beef teriyaki, the price is as fantastic as the portion and flavor. I never get fatty, gristly meat; it's tender and well prepared. I seriously cannot praise this place enough. read more

We sat down and food was ready in 2 minutes. We never heard the cook actually grilling--which means that they're preparing the food in advance. This worries us. Bottom line: Beware! I went to Toshi's teriyaki with my sister and dad. We were served quickly. The teriyaki chicken I ordered was delicious and my gyoza were perfectly crispy. My dad got beef short ribs that were perfect. My sister got chicken Katsu which was fried to perfection and had a delicious side sauce. Pork fried rice was decent. A tad salty for my taste, and not a lot of pork. But ok. And oddly, was charged 25% tax (posted $7.25 price, charged $9.05 after tax). Guess they are adding in a 15% tip to the actual tax rate... ?! read more

I had the Spicy Chicken that comes with a small salad. Delicious! The chicken was grilled perfectly with just the right amount of kick and the salad was very fresh. Given how great this was (and that this meal comes in at less calories than a burger and fries) I think I'll be stopping more often! read more

I've tried several teriyaki places in Everett and all of them were gross except this one. my family and i love this place and we've been going there for three years now. The lady that runs this place is very nice and service is on the slow side but its worth the wait. I love the chicken combo and the gyoza, I get it every time. read more

I actually liked the place. Very affordable and the meal comes out in nice portions. Try their spicy chicken or their yakisoba. The chicken teriyaki and pork teriyaki are both great options too. We go here almost every Saturday, and I'll tell you....this place is great! Fast food, great customer service, and even though the lady behind the counter has some trouble describing what the food was, it was ok because at least she tried. The gyoza always comes out perfect, and the #1 is my favorite. One day I tried to order something different and she looked surprised and said, "You always get #1 what changed?" The chicken breast teriyaki is not like most, it's on skewers and is drier than most would expect, but good if you know what you are getting. I love Toshi's teriyaki...the sauce. This place is always an exercise in frustration and disappointment. First, they have been at this location at least 8 years and the woman working the front counter acts like she doesn't speak a lick of English...from their own menu. Heaven help you if you want extra's or add on's. My theory is that she does that on purpose to keep customers from straying from what they offer. I ordered "extra beef" on a combo and what I got was what appeared to be the same amount of meat or maybe just a dab more. You think she didn't speak English before, try telling her you're not satisfied with the amount of food you didn't get that you paid for....hoo Nelly. I don't think there's been a time I haven't walked out of there mumbling about the service. When I walk in and see her I feel like Seinfeld when Newman comes into view....I only go on rare occasion because it's close to my work and sometimes I just have a hankerin.
