Pizza was very good! They give you an option on how well done you would like your crust which is nice actually. The sauce is a sweeter than most and slight chunky. The staff was very friendly and they were very quick! 10 min for two medium pies. (Note they only have medium sized pizzas). Other than pizza they didn't have much except breadsticks and two dessert options. The indoor dining area was very clean but they had a outdoor dining area as well. One bonus is they stay open till 9pm which seems rare for the area. Parking was plentiful and well lit. read more

This place deserves 5 star on service alone. We called ahead to ask if we can bring our two dogs with us and they were incredibly friendly and told us we were welcomed to come. So stoked that we have locals as owner operators here now. Neoploitan pizza is my favorite style and these guys definitely do it right. Had a Margherita pizza and a veggie pizza today and they were both spot on. Asked for the crust crispy and it was perfectly cooked not burnt. I sat and talked with the guys while I waited for my pizzas to go. Super friendly. Bunch of sports fans so I felt like I fit right in. You can tell when the employees care about the product they are serving. Wait times are good, from order to pizza in hand takes around 15 minutes. Sometimes if they're slammed it may take longer, but that's to be expected. What you won't see is employees rushing out a pizza for the sake of getting it out. They make sure it's done right. The shop is also clean and has several TV's and music playing on the shop speakers. The ingredients are made in house and you can choose how crispy your crust is. read more

Came here to grab a quick bite for dinner and this place did not disappoint! This is the place to be if you are looking for some delicious grub and a chill vibe. My pizza was incredibly tasty with the perfect amount of char and it did not sit too heavy in my stomach as the cheese was light and delicious. I ate my entire half with no problem whatsoever! The employees are incredibly nice and put a level of pride and care into making their pizzas. Growing up on the east coast, I've always found that familiar smell of the neighborhood pizza shop to be among my favorite memories. I was transporters back in time when we walked in to Tost. Between that old familiar aroma of the pizza oven cranking out perfectly "not-too-thin-and-not-too-thick" crusts and the ambiance of a place where I felt at home despite being my first visit, this place nailed everything I could ever want out of a neighborhood pizza joint. To top of off, the pizza was fantastic (a rarity in Southern California in general...)! We ordered a Margherita and a Pepperoni, traditional staples (crispy crust). Both were superior to most SoCal pies and evoked that old school east coast vibe in 12" fashion. While a spur of the minute call to even grab pizza on our short trip to Joshua Tree, Tost will be "on the list" for any and all future trips to the desert. 13 yr. old me can't wait to go back. read more

Wasn't impressed whatsoever! Husband liked it. Sauce leaves a nasty aftertaste in your mouth and just isn't good. Floppy ass crust to boot, yet the top of the crust was charred and had no flavor. Overall, just an ok pizza. Lastly, I wish they'd offer cashews as a topping. Bummed they don't! I really wanted to love this pizza because it's super close to where we live, and we NEED good placed to eat up here. But I just can't get behind this pizza. I'm probably give it one more try to make sure it wasn't just an off night or something, but I make much better homemade pizza for a fraction of the price. Sorry Tost, but some things need tweaking. Solid pizza spot! Love how you get to specify how you want the crust cooked. We got the classic Margherita Pizza and the sausage and bell pepper kind. Size is on the medium/small size. Between two of us we got two but had plenty leftover after We got the cinnamon stick pizza for desert. Cinnamon sugar and drizzled frosting on top of dough was heavenly highly recommend. We called them and they acted like it was our problem that they contracted out the delivery to DoorDash/slice who never delivered. Fantastic pizza, period. The Prodigy was a great pesto pizza that wasn't too overwhelming or salty. The All Meat Treat hits the spot because it's just simply a ton of different proteins on a great pizza. Really nice and friendly staff and open space to eat and watch sports. I got take-out here during my visit to Joshua Tree and didn't think much of them, until I tried their pizza and it was delicious. I believe it's brick-oven too, so you get that extra char on the bottom, and the ingredients are so fresh and work together so well. You can either build your own to a certain extent (which is their way of letting you create your own pizza within the confines of not destroying a pizza with too many toppings, I think), or choose from one of their pre-set ones. We first began getting Tost pizza when they first opened. The Neopolitan was delicious!! We have been noticing that the quality is not what it used to be, unfortunately. We last ordered about 8 weeks ago, a large Neo w/ pepperoni. The flavor was not nearly as good as before. Plus, the pizza was light...picked up the box, felt almost empty. Doing a staycation here and wanted to give it a try based on the reviews. Food was meh! Kids didn't care for their cheese pizza. Our Works pizza was comp to a Supreme and ok. And overpriced. And the kicker was our Tiramisu desert. We got a itty bitty bite sized piece which was overpriced at $8. I want to start my review off with just saying that this is some of the best tasting pizza in the high desert, if not the best. My reviews can get wordy (especially for pizza) so here's the nitty gritty: Pizza: This place serves what is meant to be a Neapolitan style pizza. These types of pizza can have some strict standards, but for the hi dez, I'd say they nailed it. Without knowing exactly what ingredients they're using, it's pretty damn close to authentic. They are using the right type of cheese (some sort of fresh Mozz, either buffalo or fior di latte) and the sauce seems sweet (as it should be, they may be using San Marzano). They are using a gas powered dome oven, so it's not wood fired but you can still achieve results with gas. The oven needs time to warm up thru the day and I had my pizza around 2:30pm. If you order at night their oven may be hot enough (800-900 F) which may even achieve a more authentic Neapolitan crust. This leads me to my only criticism. A Neapolitan crust (in my opinion) should be a little more airy than theirs and have "leopard spotting". However, the gluten of the crust was still great and had a very good flavor, so they're very close to perfection. It just seemed a little dense. They only have limited toppings but you should never order much more than a couple on a Neapolitan! The crust is not meant to support it. While I was thinking of these criticisms while eating it, I was already craving more by the time I got out of there. Ultimately, that's the point, right? If you're looking for a pan, or NY style pizza, this is not the place. The others in the area (2 guys/5$ pizza/pie for the ppl) may be better suited for a large group or family. But this pizza just tastes better. Price: They only serve 12" pies (again, it's Neapolitan). And the prices right now are excellent for this type of pizza. I'd say they're rivaling Giant Rock Meeting Room right now as the pizzas are in similar size and type. But Giant Rock is 6$ more for the same pizza! Drinks: Beer / Wine is also reasonably priced and they have a good, crafty selection. Location: It's in a strip mall and serves its purpose, but it's best suited for a few people looking to eat some pizza and have a drink. Would be exciting if they can someday expand. I want this place to thrive, but everyone needs to know what this place is for now. You should come here to sit and eat your pizza fresh from the oven. While they can probably make you a few at once to-go, it's not ready for large groups of hikers expecting a giant 18" pie for the group. It's excellent pizza so I hope they're ready to tackle the inevitable challenges of serving delicious pizza to the masses! read more

40 minutes for 2 okay pizzas. One beautiful pizza oven that typically is cooking only one pizza at a time while lots of customers wait far too long for such a basic food. I wanted to order online, but the site mentioned a 1-hour wait....WOW! I wanted to love this pizza after reading the reviews, but it was just okay. I imagine it would be much better if you ate it right away, perhaps it would be crisp, as it should be, but when I got it home, just 5 minutes away, it was rather limp. Flavor was alright, sausage rather mild, for sure, though. The crust was tender, although with very little flavor. We figure since the place is new they're probably going through growing pains, so we'll give them another try in the future. Best of luck to this business! UPDATE: After leaving my honest review, I received a not-so-nice message from the Tost owner; not at all like the personality described by other reviewers. Not really a review person, but for Tost, I had to. Where to start? I wanted to check out this family owned business because we have so little places to go have a beer or play some pool. If you're a local, you know that all the usual places are now overrun. I was pleasantly surprised with the atmosphere and awesome art Robe has up in the shop. Robe and his kids were so welcoming and even let me stay longer after closing because I was still drinking my beer and doing some work (oops, sorry Robe). I've fallen for the hazy they have there and even crave it after a long day at work. Plus, that brick oven is alwaaays on the go. I watched them throwing down a ton of pizzas, for what I believe were the Boy Scouts, and still fulfill orders for myself and a pretty full house that night. I look forward to coming here and recommend it to anyone looking to hangout, have a cold beer, and leave with a smile. Plus, the metropolitan style pizza is unique from the regular pizza places out here-- definitely a must try. Tost pizza is in the little town of Yucca Valley but it could easily compete with the best Neapolitan pizza in any big city! The crust has great aeration and the sauce was very flavorful. We got the pizza for take out and it was ready very promptly. Parking in the plaza was easy and they were ready for me right when I went in. Overall I would recommend this restaurant strongly for a solid meal when in the area of the National Park and I'd happily return on a future visit. read more
