On 8.9.2017, the Tot Boss Truck was part of the Food Trucks for Charity event at The Depot with all tips benefiting the Ronald McDonald Charities. My colleagues and I ventured over here in the rain for a good cause. Three of us has the beef burrito basket which came with a loaded burrito AND a little basket of tots on the side, all for $6! Added a nacho cheese dipping sauce for $0.50. I wished I'd tried the jalapeño ranch instead, the nacho cheese was kind of runny. Other than that, the burrito was tasty and the tots nice and crispy. I ate them all and saved none in my pockets for later. (Napoleon Dynamite ref ;)) Added a bottled water for an extra buck and plenty left for tipping which went to RM House! Good cause!

    Chili tots, no sour cream

Visited the Minneapolis Food Truck Fair yesterday and this truck had, by far, the longest line.. I had to give it a try! After waiting 20 minutes, building major anticipation and excitement, we made it to the front where I ordered the Chili Tots for $6. They surprisingly finished our order within minutes and I was off on my way. The tots were fresh, crunchy, and delicious. The chili was okay. Was it any different from tots that I could buy elsewhere? I didn't think so. Plus, the portion was extremely small for $6! Although it was delicious, I'd probably rather spend my $6 elsewhere at a food truck that's more unique next time.

I'm a girl who appreciates the finer things in life, such as TOTS and holy heavens this food truck is a dream come true! My friend and I got to enjoy some poutine tots from these guys at the Canterbury races a couple weeks ago, and I can't stop thinking about them! So stinkin yummy! Is it wrong of me to want to stake out where these guys will be next?!?!

After waiting 20 min. The line is still long. Should be worth it!

Summary: - Long wait (~40 minutes) - Perfectly fried tots - A little expensive for what it is --- Tot Boss was near the entrance of the Minneapolis Food Truck Fair and it immediately stood out; it literally had the longest line out of any of the other 40 trucks. I walked around a bit but noted to myself to come back. After all, going by my parents' rule, I should always eat at places with a lot of people. We got some food and started to wait. The line was really long, stretching the length of about 3-4 trucks. It wasn't moving very quickly either. After about 40 minutes under the beating sun, we made it to the front. Though they had a bunch of gourmet styles, I ordered a plain tots (24 count) to share with my friends. The price was about $4.50, which is all right given the demand, but really, tots are pretty much french fries. After two minutes, our tots came out piping hot and fresh. Their crispy shell picked up some ketchup and I don't know, it just worked well. I'm not sure if it's worth the hype but the food is solid. Try it at the next food truck fair!

Tots with a tiny bit of bacon

Less than spectacular tots -- in fact pretty much ordinary and overly priced. I had the bacon-wrapped tots and the bacon was certainly not fresh and was pretty skimpy and really didn't contribute any bacon flavor to the tots save for the idea of tots wrapped in bacon. It'd be awesome to see what they could do if they stepped up their game and did more than re-heat pre-prepared tots -- like use fresh ingredients, interesting sauces, and more generous portions. But until then, I can only give them two stars.

Taters gon tate! But all jokes aside, this was fantastic! I came across this food truck at the MNNI (Minnesota Nissan Infiniti) Car Show at Running Aces Casino. I only agreed to go with my boyfriend and our other car-enthusiast friends because I heard there would be food trucks. Honestly, this was the only one that appealed to me and I wasn't disappointed! I ordered the Loaded Tots and there was a decent amount of tots for the price that we paid ($5 I think). The tots were crispy and delicious! There was cheese, bacon, and sour cream on it as well. Honestly, the tots were good on their own but it did add some extra flavor to it.

The bacon wrapped tots was a magical experience.

Wow!! I got the bacon wrapped tots and the chicken tender basket. The bacon wrapped tots were cooked perfectly and with a little Franks Red Hot they were perfect. The taste is just epic. And the chicken tender basket was perfectly cooked and with a little Red Hot was just perfect. The Tot Boss Truck is a winner.

Normal tater tots with nacho cheese

I've been craving tater tots for some time now and was so excited this food truck was at the Anoka food truck festival. There was a huge line because of course everyone loves them some tots so I was happy I would get hot tater tots. Hot tater tots is sure what I got. They basically threw the hot tater tots in my hands then handed me the cheese sauce which I burnt my hand very badly on, and then also my water all at the same time shewing me out of the way. I am so glad they were hot, however the carelessness of the person placing the cheese sauce in the container (spilling it down the side) cause a very bad burn on three of my fingers not allowing me to enjoy my tots as much as I would have liked. Also if I have to pay 50 cents for sauce I would like a full container of it. It was barely half full. Overall the tots were hot and good but having burnt my hand when it shouldn't have happened lost them a star. I guess moral of the story Is be careful if you get a side of nacho sauce it may be running down the side and may burn you.

Tot Boss came by a work event today, longest line in the place!!! They were very fast and efficient, their food was worth the wait. I had the loaded tots and loved every bite. Tots were crispy, the bacon was cooked perfect, the entire dish was flavorful and delicious. Highly recommend.

    Great Menu

Awesome. I Give the Fully Loaded Tots a solid 9 out of 10 due to the fact of the lack cheese and chives on the tots.

Had the regular tots for the "tots" and poutine tots for the adults. Very tasty, reasonably priced and portions were generous.

As evidenced by the name, Tiki Tim's focuses mainly on island inspired cuisine (save for the fried pickles). Their menu is fairly modest in size, comprised of Tiki (shrimp and crab) cakes, fish tacos, a Hawaiian influenced pulled pork sandwich and a smattering of side dishes. While the choices are limited, they've all been quite good. The fish tacos are the highlight for me, with generous pieces of crispy and not-too-greasy fish, but you really can't wrong with anything (bring a knife and fork for the pork sandwich). The converted big blue Chevy is easy to spot on the streets, the service is friendly and the prices are reasonable. Given that we're about as far from the coasts as possible and a long haul from Hawaii, it's nice to see someone aspiring to bring the tropical mindset to the streets of the Twin Cities.

I sampled 3 items from Mario's, an appetizer (Ciabatta Parm Bites), a small 8" pizza (Meat Eaters), and a dessert (Classic Cannoli). Every bite of my food was wonderful. And judging from the number of people lining up to get food, many other people agree with me. The employees at the brewery were also grabbing food and raving about Mario's. Yum! As a final note (to avoid confusion), this truck is NOT the same business as the bricks n' mortar restaurant in Watertown. The truck is an independent business that simply licensed the name from the restaurant several years ago. I had a nice conversation with the owner and he explained it to me. I don't hand out many 5 star reviews but Mario's deserves it. I highly recommend trying this truck if it's in your area. Thumbs up! -Maxx
