Absolutely fabulous! Total image did my hair and makeup as a bridesmaid in 2022. When it came to my wedding in 2024, I knew of their high-quality work, so of course, I reached out. I scheduled my hair and makeup trial and booked my wedding day at the same time. I feel that their pricing was explained very well to me right from the start. They go over their contract, expectations, etc. I was happy that they came onsite to my home for the trial, as well as my hotel for the day of the event. We communicated mostly via email and text, which worked great for me. The ladies nailed my hair and makeup trial that I didn't even want to make changes for the wedding. ( The only change was I brought my own lip stick) I had 4 ladies getting hair and 5 getting makeup. There was one person for our hair and one for the makeup, which worked great. I hired this makeup and hair team for my baby shower and they went above and beyond. The makeup and hair they did for my friends and I was amazing. The stars I am giving are for Andrea, who did our makeup and was incredibly efficient and talented. Christa, told the hair stylist the wrong time, "human error" as she phrased it, which can happen to anyone. Her human error caused an immeasurable amount of added stress on an already stressful day. Our hair stylist was an hour and a half late. That was a massive problem considering we had mostly outdoor photos and an early sunset. She was supposed to arrive at 10am, she came after 11:30. Christa texted me to apologize, and tried calling me. Unfortunately, as the bride, I was a little preoccupied that day and was not glued to my phone. (More to come on this later.) Andrea informed us the stylist was coming as well as a second stylist who would join at 12:45-1pm. I was supposed to be dressed at 12:30-1 to start photos. I was dressed at 2pm. (Our ceremony started at 4pm & we were doing all family/bridal party/couple photos before.) The second stylist, by the time she arrived (with her child who proceeded to lay on the floor in between the hair and makeup chairs,) did 1 bridesmaid & my grandmother, whose hair took all of 15 minutes. While I can appreciate the thought of sending another stylist, ultimately it didn't make up for the error in the first place. After the wedding I emailed Christa asking for some money back since our entire day was thrown off and we unfortunately missed out on a lot of photos with our photographer. I was hoping she would offer to refund one or two hair services at the most. Instead I received a condescending email blaming me for not answering my phone, (not sure what that would have accomplished anyway?) and stating she sent the second hair stylist to make up for it. She then signed her email with an unprofessional smiley face that came across as mocking. She never did answer my question as to a partial refund, so I sent two follow up emails. I have not received a response. I've patiently waited to leave a review because I had hoped to have this resolved. Alas, here we are. So I cannot recommend them for future services, unless you have an open timeline and don't mind terrible customer service. read more

My bridal hair and makeup trial went fantastic and it was even better on the big day! Christa's team of professionals are the best and very reasonably priced. They showed up on-time at our hotel downtown and did a fantastic job getting through 6 women for hair and makeup. Everyone was incredible impresses. I even texted the night before asking if we could add a guest, and they complied, which I was extremely appreciative of. Additionally, I loved the staff that Christa brought. My only concern was the lack of personalization from Christa. She was very nice, however, throughout the day she called me the wrong name, kept going up to other bridesmaids (thinking they were me), and even when I got an email asking me to review their services a few weeks after the wedding, they addressed it to the wrong name. I know she works with a lot of people, however, I would hope that after paying 1,000+ dollars, she would remember my face throughout the day, and especially remember my name. Total Image did my hair and makeup for my wedding and my bridesmaids and mother's hair and makeup. I picked them because they've done my hair and makeup for four other weddings that I was in and I thought their pricing was some of the best/most reasonable available for quality work. Everything went smoothly: from scheduling, booking, and the trial. I was able to request Julie to do my hair as I especially loved how she styled my hair in the past. I also requested someone specific for my makeup (I wish I remembered her name!) and Christa tried to honor that request, however she was out of town for the weekend of my wedding. Regardless my makeup looked amazing at all four weddings. I 100% recommend them and would pick them again and recommend them to everyone. My hair and makeup has "stayed put" all day for these weddings and I felt so beautiful on my wedding day. The girls are also very nice and accommodating - be very specific about what you want and if you don't like something, speak up! They want you to look good! Finally - last endorsement. My mom LOVED her makeup. In my experience with being in weddings, it was sort of hit or miss for the moms. They usually weren't used to wearing so much makeup and didn't feel like themselves. It's definitely a lot of makeup but remind them that it's for the pictures and it does look good. My mom's immediate reaction to her makeup was that she felt 10 years younger. read more

Not the best experience...and thats the best I can say. I went here on a Groupon for my first sunless, tanning-bedless, tan. The price was right ($17.00) and had I paid full price ($35.00), I would have been back in there two days later demanding a refund. To begin with, the one woman shop is always locked on the outside. Understandable I guess, since there is only one person working the shop and may be busy air brushing someone else. After the akward fail opening the door, the woman who eventually sprayed my tan let me in. I had to wait about 5 minutes for the person in the booth before me to dry. As she left, I wanted to run out the locked door behind her as she was a flourescent tone of Snookie. I made myself calm down knowing that this may not be the end result as this was my first time spray tanning. Ok, made it to the room. I stripped down to my undies and put the used shower cap on to cover my hair and yelled 'ready' over the partition wall. The spray...took about 15 minutes. I was expecting that... She seemed very attentive and I felt the cold spray hit me. She told me how to stand, how to put my arms and moved thru the yoga poses of air-brush tanning to cover every angle. When she finished, she even did a second coat (though applied much faster than the first). Now comes the wierd, bad, and horrifying parts. After standing there to dry for 3-4 minutes per side in front of a fan that didn't seem to blow air anywhere, she came in to tell me I was done. My first look in the mirror...hmm, nice, I'm tan! Next...OMG, the bottoms of my feet aree BLACK. Then I realized, the towel that I'd been standing on during the spray had obviously been used all day. Hmm...cleanliness? It was a white cotten towel...why couldn't each person have a new one? I didn't want to put my shoes on. On the way out the door, she told me not to shower until the morning, and that a good portion would wash off leaving a beautiful tan that would last about a week and a half and fade evenly. So I made it home, attempted to scrub the bottom of my feet. Some color did rinse off, but for the most part the color didn't budge. Minutes later, one touch to my collarbone area nearly wiped ALL the color off. In mere panic, I attempted to smear the rest together. I gave up, and in all of my stickiness and smelliness, went to bed. Next day, shower! Yes, a lot rinsed off in the shower, but it did leave a nice tan behind. Whew! Wait..... Whats that? My face was about 3 shades too dark. Good news...my teeth looked super white, along with my eyeballs! The back of my calves...nothing. The line when I lift my arm that goes down my tricep to where your bra strap goes around....like night and day. Bottoms of my feet, still black. It continued to wash off for a few showers, and smelled like a fake tan when I worked out for about 3 days. It'll be a week tomorrow, most of the tan has faded/washed off. Parts of my feet are still very dark as are the tops of my toes. My arms have become blotchy and the tan almost loos pixelated. My legs have no color left to them, and neither does my face. Can't say it faded evenly at all. It went from way too Snookie looking to nearly gone and spotty within days, and didnt last nearly as long as the week and a half to two weeks I was expecting. Again, glad I didn't pay full price and definitely won't be going back. May try another form of spray tan in the future, just because I'm now aware of the dangers of tanning beds. For my first time, and not knowing what to expect, I'm pretty sure this is NOT what should have happened. read more

I had my bridal hair and make-up trial back in February. I would give 4 stars, if the review was based solely on the make-up. The artist did a fantastic job and by the end of the day my make-up still looked fresh. Unfortunately, the hair was below average. I showed a picture of exactly what I wanted and stressed how I wanted lots of volume. My hair essentially looked as if it was a ponytail with curls in it. She tried adding more volume at the end by pulling a comb through, but it did not work. By the end of the day, my hair was flat and falling out. I had higher hopes, as the pictures on their website looked gorgeous. After the trial, I decided not to book. No one called to follow-up with me or even inquire about booking. My three bridesmaids, my mom, the mother of the groom and I had our hair done by Total Image for my wedding. All but the moms also had makeup done. The ladies were SO nice - from the trial run to the day of. Their kind words and casual manner helped keep everyone calm. My wedding was on Saturday, June 18, 2016. I had two ceremonies, 7 bridesmaids, and needed to have everyone ready to go by 8 am. Needless to say, after speaking with several hair and make-up individuals and companies, I had no luck finding someone willing to work that early, able to get all 8 of us ready and time, and affordable. I got referred to Total Image by a friend of a friend (someone I didn't really know), but after looking up their reviews, I decided to go for it. From our first contact, Christa was absolutely wonderful to work with. She really wants you to have a good experience as a client and does so at an affordable price. I had my trial about a month before the wedding and it turned out awesome and exactly like what I wanted. On the day of, she sent 3 hair and make-up people to get us all ready (I had the same people do mine that did at the trial). All 3 lovely ladies arrived early and went straight to work. I had a mix-up with one of my bridesmaids and the stylists were able to accommodate and add one more girl in and we were all still ready on time. Something that could've been a very stressful situation turned out just fine because of their flexibility and professionalism. Everyone LOVED their looks! I have been in about 8 weddings as a bridesmaid and I have never experienced a time when each and every girl liked their hair and make-up, so this was a first for me. I had one of the stylists come back to do a second look for my second ceremony (change it from down to an up-do). We were stuck in traffic and we were an hour late. Christa, the stylist, and just everyone was so accommodating and NICE and friendly about the whole thing, that it instantly took away my stress about being late. First time airbrushing tan- never again. I do a better job with self tanner in the dark. Major Umpa Loompa here and splotches and blotches all around my feet, ankles. Dark spots on my legs. I exfoliated with a bath brush right before coming here. Did not use any moisturizer and skipped the deodorant as the web site advised. I took a shower after about 8 hours being sprayed because I was just looking worse and worse. When I woke up the next morning I was almost crying. I look completely ridiculous. I called Total Image after the hair and makeup artists that I hired for my wedding didn't work out. With a month to go before the wedding date, I was frantic about being able to find someone that could do great wedding hair (read: not prom hair) and makeup that would still make me feel like myself. I called Total Image and they got me in right away for a trial...in fact, the girl that did my hair missed her baby's first doctor appointment so that I could have my trial. If that's not dedication, I don't know what is, but I really appreciated that. After becoming so frazzled by the former hair and makeup staff, it was nice to speak to people that were calm and made me feel confident in hiring them for the day of the wedding. In fact, they specialize in on-site, wedding hair and makeup services; so they know what they are doing and they realize how important your wedding day is to you. On the day of the wedding, their staff showed up right on time at our hotel to do the hair and makeup for myself and the bridesmaids. I changed my mind for my hairstyle and wanted to go with something completely different than what they had done at the trial, and they were able to replicate the updo (which, in my opinion, seemed pretty involved) and even had it looking better than it did in the picture! I got so many compliments on the hair. And the makeup...wow! I only wish I could look that great every day. They do airbrush makeup, which stays in place way better than conventional makeup, and gives you a nearly flawless look in pictures. While you could tell I was wearing makeup, I still felt comfortable and natural in it. For being an on-site company, I also felt their prices were affordable and fair. And they accepted credit cards the day of, which was super convenient. Best part was...they were done early! All of my bridesmaids had really unique hairstyles that they loved, and their makeup was truly gorgeous. I would definitely recommend Total Image to brides that want to reduce stress on their big day, look amazing, and feel comfortable. Worst airbrush tan I have ever received. I got mine done last Wednesday night for a wedding tomorrow, I wanted to give myself some wiggle room incase I was too dark I could fade. Well fading wasn't really the problems I'm orange and yellow! There are spots that are missing down my arms, my feet are discussing and blotchy.. I look pretty diseased. I exfoliated more than I ever have right before my appointment and did not shower until 24 hours later like she said and it still turned out horrible. I by far think my hands are the works. My palms are white with a clear line from my wrist where I am umpa lumpa to my ghost white palms. My fingers are speckled and the most uneven I have ever seen. I would not recommend this place to ANYONE let alone someone who was maid of honor in a wedding. read more

I met Christa (owner of Total Image) at a bridal show about 12 months before our wedding. She is an absolute doll and I instantly fell in love with her and her team of ladies. I booked them to do hair and make-up for 13 women for our 12/13/14 wedding. Christa and her amazing team (4 total) took care of my large bridal party of 8 bridesmaids, bride, mother of bride, mother of groom, aunt of bride and grandmother of groom. They were prompt on time at our hotel and we had so much fun getting ready, it was like old girlfriends getting together! While we had fun, Christa made sure that she was getting us in and out of hair and make-up to make sure we met our time guidelines. With the speed of Christa and her team, you'd think the quality would be sub-par, but my ladies were FLAWLESS. Not only were they flawless on the morning of the day of the wedding, one of my bridesmaids even slept in her makeup (big no-no) and looked like she had her make-up professionally done for the brunch, when it was actually from the day before! I was extremely indecisive about my hair and even after two trials was not sure what I wanted to go with. The girls at Total Image put together an up-do that was exactly what I wanted but could not verbalize. Even when there was a hiccup where I lost my engagement ring (long story short it was cleaned by housekeeping and almost made a trip through the dishwasher), Christa kept me smiling and said she would march downstairs and shut the hotel down until we found the ring. When you're getting ready on your big day, you want a fun environment to enjoy with the people you love and Christa and her team were basically part of the bridal party. My bridesmaids, mom, and mother-in-law kept saying how pretty they felt. I felt gorgeous and must have referred 30 people to Total Image the day of my wedding. I gifted my bridesmaids a portion of the hair and makeup cost because I wanted everyone to get their hair and make-up done so pictures were consistent (when 5 bridesmaid have airbrush and 2 do not, you can tell - I highly recommend professional hair/make-up for the entire bridal party). I am shocked by some of the low ratings that Total Image has recived on Yelp. I do notice that most of them are on the older side, but I can tell you that I have been coming here for air brush tanning for about 2 years now, quite regularly, and only once had an issue (a couple of white spots) for which I did NOT report to the owner - Christa. Instead I mentioned it when I made my next appt and she went so far as to check the formulas and check with her employees in case anything had changed unbeknownst to her. She did my next airbrush tan and it was perfect as it usually had been. I think it is important that customers understand they should be careful about using certain products prior to arriving for an air brush tan... I always show up freshly showered (and shaven), avoid deoderant and lotions containing oil (stick to water based), and I wear loose clothing (no bra) when leaving the salon. This seems to make a difference. Also, there is now a "lighter" formula you can choose now. That is what I use since I am very fair skinned and it just appears more natural on me. I have never had an issue getting in when I needed to (even with short notice). Although I dont particually like waiting outside for someone to open the door, I can appreciate the doors being locked while I am nude in a spa room. You never know with some of the strange people out there that could have otherwise strolled in the door. A doorbell would be nice to add some reassurance that someone knows you are waiting. There is a package that has been available for quite some time - 5 airbrush tans for $125 (what a deal?!). No expiration I beleive. That's all I do now. They did nothing what my daughter asked we came back a second time again looked horrible we found someone else that did exactly what my daughter wanted I call total image back and they gave me nothing but attitude I think it was a total rip off. She told me that's what trials are for, to me she should get her money back. My daughter even showed them pictures of what she wanted and it was nothing like the pictures and they argued saying it would look bad the day for wedding. We found another girl outside total image that did exactly what my daughter wanted and it was beautiful so it can be done it just can't be done at total image. If you want your wedding to be perfect I definitely would not recommend this place. I gave them the benefit of giving my daughter back her money and they were very rude and said that's what a trial is for. They ripped her off. Total Image is a great option because they're affordable and do good work! I received lots of compliments on my hair during my wedding, and the other members of my bridal party were all for the most part happy with their hair and makeup. The stylists were also great about being flexible, as we added an additional person for hair and makeup just the day before the wedding. The one downside to my experience with Total Image was that one of our two stylists was in a big rush to leave as soon as possible. Our party was fairly small and we weren't running late, so she was either over-booked or just a bit rude. She was insistent on getting her valet parking called up while still doing makeup, and was walking out the door as people were still trying to ask questions about how to handle makeup touch-ups. I just had my wedding this past weekend (June 4th), and my bridesmaids and I were blown away by how amazing Christa and Katie were! Christa did our aibrush makeup flawlessly and exactly as I had envisioned - even though I gave her very little direction. I showed Katie 2 hairstyles and asked her to blend the two - and she did exactly what I had asked for... and then some. I was above and beyond pleased by their talent, the quality of the finished product (our hair and makeup) and the customer service that they provided. Both Christa and Katie were friendly and professional and fun to be around - both on the day of the trial and also on the day of my wedding. I got an appointment with Christie for an airbrush tan 2 days before my event. She was very professional and super helpful since i have only ever spray tanned in booths-this was my first custom. I opted for the medium level- i should've went darker! I was afraid it wouldn't look right but now i know-christie knows what she's doing she wouldn't have made me look bad. My legs are still tan 5 days later, my face wore off in about 4 days but thats normal. I loved the color for the time being. I will go back to her again, and would recommend her to anyone looking for a great tan for an upcoming event. read more

Jen and Jessica actually saved the day! Two of my bridesmaids opted not to get their hair or makeup done originally...then one of them had their wallet stolen, had zero time to do her own hair/makeup, so they fit her in, and the last bridesmaid too so she wouldn't be the only one doing her own-- and we still were done on time! They did a great job of making us look beautiful while still looking like ourselves. I swear they can do anything with your hair. They are both so talented! Everyone's hair and makeup held up the whole night (granted, we had an indoor winter wedding). And their prices is very reasonable, and cheaper the more people you add to the package! read more

These ladies were so awesome! Every one from my Grandmother to my Sister looked perfect. They all had colors that compliment their natural look. They were on time and finished early. I was iffy about wearing my birdcage because i wasn't sure if it would look good and they made it look AMAZING!!! Totally worth every dime!!!! read more

Christa and the Total Image team are seriously fantastic! I looked and felt gorgeous on my wedding day, and I didn't need to touch up at all throughout the day/night. She is THAT good! My guests kept commenting on how great my hair & makeup was, and I know that all of my girls felt great too! Christa and Jen did 6 hair appointments and 10 makeup appointments, and we didn't feel rushed or worried at all. They traveled to us, and were flexible in our Hospitality Suite; even without any windows/natural light, Christa did our makeup perfectly! I would 100% book Total Image again in a heartbeat.
