They offer samples throughout the store which, for me, can spark interest in certain products that I may not have considered and/or help narrow down my choices. Whatever the case, I always appreciate the ability to try before I buy. Prices are already competitive and their frequent sales add to the savings. I came in to shop for Christmas. The second I walked in the cement by the door is cracked and caused me to fall and scrap my knee on the ground. That's not what bothered me. I was tasting a sample by a kind older female employee offering the Tennessee honey. We wanted to buy a bottle and when she asked a long blonde hair man with a white shirt if we sold in a different size, he said "no" very rudely and disrespectfully to her. It disgusted me and my boyfriend the way he spoke to her. I would not have written a review if it wasn't for him. Additionally, they did have the size we wanted. Oh, Total Wine, where have you been all my life?!? I had a misconception of this store and thought it was a typical liquor store. Boy, I am happy to say I was dead wrong! My husband had mentioned that a friend of his recommended the store and that it was cheaper. Key word that always gets my attention: cheaper. I was shocked how big the store was, to begin. Not one of those tiny liquor stores with minimal assortments of alcohol. Aisle after glorious aisle of booze and wine. Brands I had never even heard of, and they focus a lot on local distilleries, which I can appreciate. The important info here: the prices are amazingly lower than most competitors. MUCH. And get this, many brands were CHEAPER the larger bottle you choose. YES, more bang for a lesser buck! We even asked an employee if the posted prices were correct, and they were. Unbelievable! They offered many tasting stations (think Costco but with the good stuff.) And several so there were not hordes of people at each one (think Costco without the people who act like they haven't eaten in weeks.) Customer service was great. Employees were friendly and helpful. When celebrating, I like a champagne called Cinzano. Out of there nice variety of champagnes, an employee and I could not find it on the shelves. He hopped on a computer and checked, but unfortunately they do not carry it. Whomp whomp. The only other negative was that at one of the tasting stations, an employee was partaking in the festivities. I mean, I don't blame him, but he couldn't be too helpful two sheets to the wind if he slams several samples. Awesome place, especially when entertaining guests. Amazing selection of Texas related beer, whiskey, wine and other items. I picked up a bottle of my favorite TX Whiskey from Fort Worth. That bottle now resides in my kitchen in Portland, Oregon. I used to live in Texas, and never had I seen such a store. Not even Goody Goody has the selection of this place. The prices are also very reasonable as well. The staff was very helpful, even letting me know that certain items I was looking for were out of stock. I wanted some Armadillo beer from the folks out of Denton. This place is located near the Costco at Lewisville. Getting to this place is very easy on GPS. There is tremendous amount of parking here. I have visited this place on multiple occasions. Mostly to pickup a Vodka and a Champagne. If you are visiting this place for the first time , I am sure you are going to be thrilled with the collections they have. They literally have collections on a specific liquor type from the best Liquor manufacturers across the globe. The options are just too many to pick up from. This is the second time going into Total Wine store 507 in Lewisville Texas and the price was more at the register than the tag on the shelf! I bought Casamigos Blanco 1.75 liter and the price was $3 more at the cash register. When I told the nice cashier she quickly called for a price check and yes I was right. When the manager came over to fix --he acted extremely rude like why should I care? FYI the price is 89.99 on the tag and I do expect companies to honor there price. He never said two words to me and I voiced my concern to the extremely nice cashier. Lesson here to all patrons: watch out and verify each tag! Horrible horrible experience with the manager, it was an African American women with almost a shaved head, she was so racist and rude to me. I am Asian. She was being so nice to the lady in front of me, as I got to the register no hello no greeting no anything, she said she was tired of being there when she was speaking to the white lady. After that she scans all my items then I show her my ID she accuses me of it being a false ID, I told her she can scan it, it is not fake and I am doing my Instacart job and she tells me she will not take it nor scan it and to get out the store. I asked to speak to someone else but she Claimed to be the store manager. This was a waste of time, I could not complete my job, I am so disappointed. This is a really great store don't get me wrong , however I would like to point out a few unpleasant points about this place. 1- if you're going to offer free tastings to your costumers make sure the people that are presenting the products are excited about what they are selling. Don't make me feel like you're doing me a favor or giving me free lunch. 2- believe your customers, treat them knowing they are and will be potential customers. Again, I cannot stress enough how important it is to choose the right kind of hosts for each product you are pushing. 3- why do I have to listen to your employees lack of enthusiasm while serving me a taste of Chardonnay? I hear she is looking for a job? Why? Tell me why do I have to listen to that? Instead can she talk to me about that wine? As always the staff is receptive while in the wine or liqueur section but you feel like you're in a ghost town if your enter the beer section. Today while I entered the wine section we were surrounded by help, though when we entered the beer section where we really spent most time and saw the most "distributor" people, no one even engaged us! What a great spot for the lush in all of us :) I came here one Saturday with a friend looking for some wine for my Mother in Law and some liquor to make mixed drinks. I walked in and was amazed, this place is huge! My friend had been before so she showed me the lay of the land, but it is all organized nicely with wines separated by category and region then your spirits then your beer. They had several samplings going on that day (oh yeaa!) and i tried a great Riesling, a craft beer and a vodka. Wow! The staff was helpful and friendly and even looked up a wine I had heard about from friends in California (they didn't have it but that was ok). Prices were good too! This particular Saturday they were offering wines at the buy 6 price even if you buy 1. Check their website for classes, they have a huge seating area where they hold wine classes and tastings that you have to register for. I will definitely be back. Holy cow!!! This place has just about everything you could possibly want. Since moving to Dallas, I have had a hard time locating Cuvee DesJacobins Rouge...when I say hard time that means no bueno, no go, sorry kid your outta luck. However...Total Wine has it!!! (I can't lay claim to finding my Cuvee DesJacobins Rouge here, my bro found it). Super happy. I don't drink often, and I don't drink much but I do like a good beer or wine on occasion. The beer was 4.99 for a single bottle, but that is half as much as I have seen it go for. The atmosphere was fun, the customer service was top notch. Well who knew I would find one of these in Texas? They just opened 3 weeks ago. I came to purchase wine to go along with and in a dinner I was preparing. I must say this location is a winos dream, lol. They have a large variety of wines and liquor, something for everyone really. I also think it's pretty awesome that they have a classroom in the back where they will be hosting wine classes. I have to say this location is fancier than the one in MD.....Well maybe just newer.
