Our dog has been enjoying HappeeDawg for @ 7 years or so. My biggest gripe is with shipping and lack of any customer service. For years now I have been asking them to write all over the boxes that it is "raw food" and needs to be delivered immediately... crickets and it never happens! We are always the last delivery of the day for ups, fedex or whoever is delivering at the time... so the driver has driven around all day with the product in their hot vehicle. So often times a good portion has thawed by the time it gets to us. We always pay the extra $25 for shipping protection but I would find it maddening if I had to make a claim every other time it arrives thawed out and no doubt they would quite shipping it to us. Some might say find another company- but sadly Happeedawg is unique and a little less expensive than other companies... even though I'm paying over $100 more than I used to for the same order...but everything has gone up in price. So I place large orders (80-100+ lbs at a time- not cheap), stock up on the product because I have to have it shipped (northern California). It would probably be better if I could just buy it locally and not have to buy it in bulk, but no one sells it in Northern CA. And I wish after all this time- customer service actually existed with this company, but it doesn't. Also I know I am not alone in this sentiment as several of my friends in other parts of California buy from this company as well and have the same issues. read more

Their shipping is inconsistent and they will give you no customer service once they have got your money. My order for my dog food was put in over a week ago and UPS has it as delayed and they will not even check into it. It's raw food so it can't sit around and the representative. I spoke to told me they won't refund my money unless UPS declares it undeliverable which is not the case. It is not undeliverable so I guess they're just going to steal my $125. read more

I've been buying from Totally Raw since they were in San Bernardino now I drive to Colton to pick up my dog food. Their new store is a little farther for me to drive but it's a much nicer store. Purchasing in store is a little cheaper than online so I make the trip down from Lake Arrowhead and it's worth it. My dog loves this food he likes all the flavors chicken, beef, beef blend, pork and turkey and they have rolls of cat food which my cats love. I like this food because it makes my dogs poop hard and it doesn't smell a few times I ran out of food and had to give him other brand dog food his poop ended up being smelly and slimy that's not good since he's an indoor dog. This food is reasonably priced. He's small so he doesn't eat too much but if I had a larger dog the price may be an issue. They sometimes have good in store sale prices. They also sell meat for humans they have organic chicken wings, grass fed hamburger meat, rib eye, beef ribs etc. So I go there and stock up on meat for my dogs and meat for my family. The beef ribs have alot of meat on them they taste so good cooked on the bbq. read more

I've watched the same order go from $123, $134, $146, Then it stabilized at $164 for 2023, then the last year $177 still on June 24. yes the have moved and renamed and no more 20% and the same order is $220+ and this is with local pickup. My Shiba Inu is a picky eater and I haven't been able to get her to be excited about eating breakfast and dinner since she was a puppy. Sometimes, she would go days skipping meals, especially when traveling. I switched her to Happee Dawg raw blends earlier this week and she actually DANCES to eat now. She used to be scared of going inside our kitchen because she is naturally skittish and afraid of things like the dishwasher. Well, last night I found her wandering around the kitchen. In June of 2021 our vet diagnosed our 10-year-old lab, Abby, with arthritis when she had difficulty walking. He prescribed her 2 medications, and all seemed good for 6 months. In December 2021 she started throwing up, so we took her back to the vet. She was now diagnosed with having a tumor near her stomach. Without hesitation, the doctor said to bring her in the next day to put her down. Abby was still happy, and we did not want to give up on her that quickly, so my wife called a dog nutritionist. The nutritionist said dogs should not get cancer nor diabetes and it was her food making her sick. He recommended raw food. My wife tried making it for a couple weeks, but it was quite labor intensive. That is when a friend recommended Happee Dawg. It is now February 2023 and Abby is still with us and as happy as ever. She loves her walks and even though she is 12, she still likes to play with our younger dog. Happee Dawg food has been a literal life saver and besides her medication for incontinence, she has been medication free since 2021!! On another note, we have 2 cats and one of them was diagnosed with a Thyroid issue in November 2022. Our NEW vet recommended a different dry food for our cats. Because of this, we also decided to start our cats on Happee Dawg. Success, they love the chicken blend for dogs and besides some extra vitamins for cats' that my wife adds, our cats are now eating only Happee Dawg. The cat with the Thyroid issue has grown and does not need medication. I am not going to lie and say feeding raw is inexpensive, because it's not. But if you compare what you safe on vet bills for health issues or teeth cleanings, it helps balance the cost. My dog is not a picky eater, she eats literally everything. When i switched her to raw food, I went to a butcher and bought her food. I then came across Happee Dawg and thought it would be a perfect solution. I bought 40lbs because my dog requires 1.5lbs of meat a day and it was cheaper to bulk buy. My dog WOULDN'T TOUCH the food. She smelled it and walked away. I tried another 3 days and she'd rather starve than eat it. When I chatted with Happee Dawg I asked why I can't cook it, thinking cooking would help her eat. The rude employee who was chatting with me, didn't reveal a name, accused my dog of having behavior issues and then accused me of saying the meat quality was bad. I never once said anything about the quality and the chatter continued to HARASS and accuse me of saying things I literally NEVER said. If you care about your own self respect, don't buy anything from this company, they'll only BELITTLE and TALK DOWN to you AFTER TAKING YOUR MONEY. I am pleased with the quality of the products, my dogs like it and they have been healthy and doing well on HappeeDawg food for about a year. The air dried treats are also good but some of the pieces are just too big and, since they are hard and dry, very difficult to cut. It is not optimal to have to take away a chew that a dog hasn't finished yet. Additionally, some of the chews are quite fatty so if you have a dog with stomach or other issues, be careful. the web site is a nightmare of bugs but if you call and get Abby, she will make everything right. My first clue not to spend money here should have been the fact that the employee in their store had NOTHING good to say about the owners. I purchased 9 rolls of their beef for my 1 yr old pup. She wouldn't even consider eating it. I mixed it with absolutely everything she loves and she still would not eat it. When I called to ask if I had options for return I was told that due to CoVID they were not accepting returns. Ok, so then I asked if I could hold on to the food for as long as they arent expired (frozen of course) and then hopefully the restriction on returns would be lifted and return them at that time. No the girl says, because they cant guarentee the food will still be safe. Ok so I try one last time and ask if there is anything they can or are willing to do to help me out seeing as I just bought all this food and my dog doesnt even want to be in the same room as it. No. That's it. No reason. No help. No justification. Just no. We cant do anything for you. It sucks I spent money on a company that doesnt care about their customers but it makes sense because they dont even care enough about their food for dogs to want to eat it. Bottomline: Don't expect friendly customer service if something goes wrong with the purchase. I am a customer because of their prices and decent products. Customer service was very helpful. I bought a box of raw chicken and beef dog food patties. Chris was also nice enough to help me weigh the food and told me how much to feed my dogs. I have been buying HD beef, turkey, and pork for my 2 dogs for about a year now. I was previously spending about $400 a month on commercially frozen dog food from our pet store--they are only 6lb bags that lasted a few days! Now, I am only spending a total of $184 on 40lbs of dog food, and that includes the shipping cost. That will last me 20 days. I don't have a very big freezer, or I would buy more. I am extremely disappointed that after I ordered approximately $300 worth of raw food to start my Great Dane on a raw diet, they have ghosted me!! I have called and nobody ever answers the phone. I have left voice messages with no return call. I have sent an email for support. My order was incomplete and I needed guidance on how to serve some of the products I purchased. I am unhappy and if they are unable to serve their customers, after we have made purchases, that will be my one and only purchase. My Cane Corso is 2 years old now and grew up on Happee Dawg. He eats 4lbs a day plus turkey necks and marrow bones, sometimes duck heads too. We communicate via email sometimes and get immediate response so no idea why others had issues. They offer free shipping for my 40lbs order every other week. They did just update their website and it is much better. They also recently changed the packaging for the rolls and it's amazing! No stick. Very Happee! read more

I spend $400+ every month at Happee Dawg and when I had questioned why the tripe that I have bought for the last 2-3 years had so much liquid in it Chris accused me of wanting something. I'm a returning customer but the product they shipped to me this month was not only more expensive (by 20$) but also a low quality - my dog just smelled it and walked away. They started to mix more organs and less meat into the blend making it cheaper for them to produce but at the same time less attractive for dogs because of the bitterness of raw organs! I spent a lot of time looking around for the best places to get raw dog food and this please provide the best and at the best price. I started buying product from here four months ago and have been with them ever since. They have continued to expand their raw dog food product line and even take customer request a product that they might not have in store. I have picked up product from the Highland location but I have also have had it shipped. When the food is shipped it is delivered right away and kept cold comma just make sure you don't plan on leaving it sitting out all day. When I've gone to pick up the product it comes out right away. I get the chicken meal mix , green tripe, bone marrow and turkey necks. Hopefully they will start providing ground up green tripe because it comes in one giant piece that you have to cut up and bag yourself which is messy and smells really bad. I will definitely continue to be a loyal Update* I picked up the chicken meal mix recently and they changed the ingredients from when I first started purchasing the raw dog food. The new version is lighter in color and definitely doesn't smell like how it use to and the texture is not the same. It almost smells like play-doh or even nothing compared to the smell of raw meat. My Rottweiler has been eating Happee Dawg for months now and LOVES it! The food is great, however, I give Happee Dawg 2 stars for insane and ever-increasing shipping costs. Shipping is EXTREMELY expensive: An order of 40lbs of chicken blend costs $79.60. The shipping for that order is $43.44! So essentially add 55% of the cost of the product in order for it to be delivered. Do you know of any other product that costs more than half the price of the product to have it shipped? This is insane. With so many fresh food delivery companies out there (e.g. Blue Apron, Hello Fresh, etc.), I KNOW their costs aren't nearly $30 for a box, so why is it that Happee Dawg cannot research and find a better shipping solutions for their customers? When Happee Dawg responded to me on this point, they said it is expensive because of the weight of the package and dry ice needed. This is when I asked them about shipping costs when the cost to ship this same 40lb package was $28.89 --- less than one month ago! Not only are shipping costs insane, they keep increasing. For reference, I've indicated below what I've paid for shipping the SAME EXACT order (40 lbs of chicken blend) since May 2017. It's gone up $20 since May and it's gone up $13 in less than a month. I can't understand this. They offer a pick up option which appears to be just two location options (Highland and Covina) on two days a week for a 15-minute window each. This is not a convenient (or for most, feasible) alternative to having the product shipped. My dog and I love the product, but I feel like customers are being ripped off on shipping without explanation for why the shipping costs keep increasing and customers are not given reasonable alternatives. I recently did a lot of research into raw dog food and eventually found Happee Dawg. They have great prices on the ingredients I've been looking for and are somewhat local (East of LA to West LA). I ordered the Chicken Variety package along with some marrow bones and their New Customer 4lbs free introductory sample. Order placed on a Friday evening 7pm and delivered on Wednesday 2pm. I received order confirmation (same day), another email stating the order is being processed (Tuesday), another with the shipping notice and tracking details (Tuesday), then an email from the shipping company with tracking number and delivery time estimate. I was actually running my dog out when I saw a delivery guy approaching my building and asked if it was from Happe Dawg and he reconfirmed apartment number - I asked him to just put it by the front door and he said to be careful, because it was heavy. I was coming back from our potty-trip as he was driving away and he stopped to reconfirm he's put it right outside my door! Unfortunately the package included chicken hearts instead of the chicken necks described in the package, so I immediately contacted them via their website. Within 10 minutes I had a response thanking me for my email and providing them with the opportunity to correct the mistake and that they would be sending out my chicken necks.
