A nice looking boutique dessert and pastry shop in busy Japan-town. After eating sushi nearby, I quickly strolled into this cute shop to buy a few macaroons and a couple of personal-sized custard pies to take back to my hotel room. The coffee flavored macaroons were light, fluffy, and very tasty. The egg-custards were equally good. No Restroom for PAYING customers. Awful customer service. We ordered and paid for several drinks, and macarons for our kids, but our toddler was not allowed to use their restroom. Instead the girl told us to walk across the street to use Starbucks. Well, then from now on we will just go to Starbucks, instead of here. Their hot lattes were too milky and not hot enough. Lovely bakery and coffee shop in Honda Plaza in Little Tokyo. Lots of tempting colorful sweets in the cases and some savory sandwiches as well. I decided to get the lavender latte with oat milk. The oat milk quietly added $1.25 to the bill. I think it's a little too much to charge extra without asking me. If you make a change to your drink be sure to ask the cost beforehand! I should've read all the cake pre-order reviews before coming to this branch because they are so on point. They don't honor their reservation system at all and gaslight you when they've made the mistake. I ordered a cake for a party online and got a confirmation via email and text that my order was received and accepted. I even got a notification that my order was ready but it was before my designated pick-up time so I waited. When I went to pick up, there were two staff members and they looked swamped so I waited (there was a family of 6 ahead of me ordering drinks). When they finally got to me I showed them my order and confirmation and they pulled up their iPad and kept saying they didn't see it in their system, that the order neve came through. She then turns around and checks another order with a similar name and same cake and was just gonna give me that cake but I saw the name and told her that's not my cake. She looks at her pad again and kept saying the order didn't come through but I clearly had the confirmation and then finally she finds my name in the past orders section indicating that my cake was picked up the day before. I did not pick up the cake. And she just kept insisting that I did and that the cake was picked up. I showed my confirmation again and it explicitly said that I was picking up today and she just shrugged and said well sorry it's been picked up and there's no more of that cake, please choose another one. The cake I ordered was a special cake for Christmas and was NOT the same price as the other cakes they had on display. I asked her if they were the same price and she just said "yeah yeah! Of course, all the same" but their cake tags obviously showed there was a price difference. I decided I didn't want any of the other cakes (cause I wanted a Christmas cake, not some random replacement) and was just going to go to another cake shop and try my luck (like Paris Baguette). I went back to the counter and asked for a refund. They then proceeded to tell me that they couldn't refund me because the cake was picked up and since I ordered online I needed to dispute with the website (like seriously???) I asked how am I supposed to prove I didn't pick up my cake to the website when your system says I did? They shrugged. I asked them for a written note of some sort to prove that I didn't pick up the cake because their system indicates that I did but I literally didn't and I wanted proof that I didn't. They said they couldn't give me that either. That if and when I contact their website they will get a call from them and then they'll tell them I didn't actually get my cake. I'm sorry for being skeptical but you already lost my cake, I didn't trust them to actually help me out. One of the ladies just gave me her name, email, and number to contact her later but seriously? I feel so silly feeling so angry over a stupid cake but the audacity they had the whole time to tell me I ordered wrong and the system wasn't working and they don't trust their online system, hence the issue was just ridiculous. Just say you gave my cake away and give me a refund.
