Happy to be updating this from 3 stars to 4. The service has gotten much better and the staff is friendly and helpful. As far as the drinks the quality is great. I haven't found one that I truly enjoy just yet, however I will continue to try others. I love Green Joe iced lattes. The flavor is nice and not too sweet or strong, like I find some Starbuck's drinks can be. The staff is so courteous and helpful and the vibe inside is unique, with opportunities to purchase items by local artists. I recently bought a gift card here and a pottery piece and, together, it made a nice gift. There's not a big area inside with a lot of seating, but you can also sit outside on the patio. read more

Would avoid. We were trying to find a chain coffee shop and were excited to try this spot. We came around 7:30am, we were not greeted at the door (not needed but just noted), all of the TVS were off so we couldn't see any menu, there was just a paper sheet next to the cashier that we read off of and it only listed seasonal drinks. They did not have any hot coffee made, and forgot about it so after 5/10 minutes and other drinks were made we went back up and they said they forgot our black coffee order. Additionally, our cold brew coffees were so light in color it looked like iced tea. It was a waste of money for sure! read more

Came here on a Sunday afternoon and only the drive thru was open. I definitely wanted to go in and check out the vibe and decor for the place. There were 2 cars in front of me and service was kind a slow for 2 pm with only 3 cars total. The ice matcha latte had a good amount of sweetness to balance out the bitterness of the matcha. We go out of our way to visit this place - it's a gem! Great local coffee shop with unique drink and food options, friendly staff and even a drive through. I love the number and variety of drink flavors you can choose from here - it's unlike any other coffee place around. They also have a huge gluten free pastry section sourced by a local bakery and I think you can even get gluten free bread for their sandwiches. I highly recommend the banana muffin - it's incredible whether you're gluten free or not. The shop itself is a bit small, but they have a fair amount of seats both inside and out. This place is truly one of the top if not the best coffee shop in this area. It's like a hip Chicago cafe without the drive to the city. Their food menu is amazing I recommend the Greek feta Avocado toast. Sooo yummy. If you enjoy sweet coffee, order the iced caramel macchiato It comes with a gorgeous cross-hatch of caramel and cold foam on top. Easily our new local coffee and tea spot! My husband and I moved into the area last Sept and have found this gem of a coffee and tea spot! We have gone a number of times and have yet to be disappointed. Each drink we have tried is a good balance of flavor. A lot of gluten free and vegan considerations when it comes to food but also drinks for topping removal. I have seen that the drive through is a quicker turnaround then dining inside but still plan a trip to go in! They have local artist's work displayed for purchase such as artwork and jewelry as well as store merch. The inside is a pleasant mix of seating types with a beautiful mural for photo ops. Pro Tip: download the app so one can order ahead and skip the line as well as build up loyalty points for rewards to redeem. Only takes (10) drinks ordered for a free med drink! Grabbed coffee here before our road trip this morning and it was quick & convenient because they had a drive thru. They have a great selection of coffees and teas. I got a lavender latte while my husband had a turtle Joe latte. Both were good. Also, I grabbed a matcha latte for my mom and a chai tea latte for my dad. They both enjoyed those as well. The other problem we encountered was that they were out of nearly all the breakfast items at 8am so that was a bummer. They do provide subsitute for the regular milk. They do ask for any allergies before finalizing the order. it was colder evening when I went there but in Summer I want to try their smoothies. Size of avocado toast is big, easily taken as meal or as a shareable. Staff- was very friendly and was able to answer all the questions. Three words - LAVENDER MATCHA LATTE. My new favorite drink ever!!! Truly a wonderful experience here at Green Joe Coffee. Friendly staff, incredible drinks & drink choices, and reasonable prices. This coffee shop really blew me out of the park. My sister and I were both in complete awe trying the lavender matcha latte. It's their most popular drink so we had to get it. Boy were we in for quite a surprise! The purple green concoction was quite literally the best latte I ever had. It's sweet, creamy, fresh, and you can taste it's good quality. I highly recommend it for matcha lovers and for people who just want one hell of a latte. A great vibe and friendly staff. Green tea matcha centric shoppe I've never been here before so the staff was telling about their top hits and the food they had. So I opted for their seasonal apple butter matcha and a breakfast burrito. The matcha had a decent apple flavor and just the right sweetness. Though I think I would have enjoyed it a better if a little hotter, it was drinkable temp, but I just prefer warmer (so I could take those gentle sips). The breakfast burrito was yummy, I think it had some eggs, cheese, potato, green chile. It was creamy and savory - great job on the eggs. A simple salsa verde would have been a nice complement, but it was satisfying nonetheless. Neat that they have a drive thru window for drinks as well for those in the go. This place has been highlighted in Yelp so I gave it a whirl. It is a nice clean place and parking was no problem. I had to try that lavender matcha latte. It was my first time having a matcha latte, and it did not disappoint. What I enjoyed even more was the avocado toast with lemon ricotta. What a tasty treat. I get a little jiggly with avocado toast ideas at home, but this was a nice surprise. The bread that they use is perfect for this dish, and that topping was something else. I really love how the employees at Green Joe are willing to make you a new drink when you don't like the first drink that you've gotten. it's not their fault that I didn't like the first drink, but regardless, they did their best to write any wrongs and remake my drink for me and it tastes delicious. I usually get oat milk which they were out of so they suggested soy milk and it was great! maybe I'll get into soy milk for my coffee now. Coffee in Schaumburg only seems to be chains except for here. Green Joe is the best and has many good coffee and food options. It also has a drive thru. A lot of funny names among the drinks. They have vegan cookies and muffins. I choose this place first for coffee than anywhere else around it. It seems like it's the only coffee place that's not a chain in these parts. The product is also much fresher tasting. Being a local business they can do things how they want and not have to be corporate. They have quite a lot to choose from and many sound good so it would be a regular place if I lived close enough by this. As it is this is a nice stop on the way through here. They have too much to choose from and it's all good stuff. I had a Peppermint Mocha. It's $4 for a regular. This comes with the option of being vegan. It substitutes a sugar free chocolate syrup in it. This is still very good and sweet. I also had a Vegan Triple Chocolate Hazelnut Muffin. It's $4.50 for a pretty big one. This is very chocolatey and makes for a good breakfast or snack. Other treats include cookies. They have a pretty big selection. Best place around here for coffee. Came here for the first time with my sister today because she has been here before and wanted me to try it. I also bought a house recently in the area, so I want to start finding places that I would frequent often! I frequent Starbucks often, and this will be an awesome alternative. I am someone who frequents Starbucks often, but I also love small local coffee shops. Therefore, I am so glad there is one close to home. I absolutely loved this place from right when I walked in. The service was quick and nice, and I love the aesthetic of the coffee shop. My credit card wouldn't go through on their machine, so the cashier cleaned off my card and tried again and it worked. The shop was clean and it has tables outside and inside that you can sit at. They also have a drive-thru which I will probably be using very often! Many small coffee shops normally don't have an extensive menu, but this place has so many options for customization AND they have many specialty lattes. They have lattes, teas, matcha, cold brew, smoothies, and some food/bakery items. I ordered the Green Eye Joe which is matcha mixed with espresso, vanilla, and milk. It was amazing and I would definitely order it again! I want to try so many of their items, though, because everything sounds so good. What sets them apart is that they have organic and fair trade, sustainably sourced coffee, and I think that is awesome. They also have gluten-free and vegan snack options here. I'm a little bummed that the day I came it's drive-thru only. I really wanted to check out the inside. I came to try the avocado toast, but they were out of avocado for the day. They must sell a lot! It's only noon. I got a bacon breakfast burrito instead. It's really ooey gooey inside, and the bacon are little bits of flavor throughout a ton of cheesy goodness, and a few big chunks of potato. Hits the spot! My peppermint mocha latte was made special with decaf and soy. It's delicious! They asked if I wanted whipped cream and I said yes, but the one they gave me didn't have any on it. I'm hoping it's actually decaf, because I will feel sick later if it isn't. :( Time will tell. Going to Green Joe's Coffee allowed me to take a trip down memory lane, as I lived in the vicinity as a little kid. I got to see my old elementary school and the house we lived in. Anyway, enough about me. Let's talk about Green Joe. I like the whole ethos around their business model. They use fair-trade coffee beans, use compostable cups, and use renewable energy to run their shop. They even have plants inside and some artwork for sale. The menu includes standard coffee drinks, matcha teas, smoothies, and bakery items. I didn't see cappuccino on the menu, but I asked if they could make it and sure enough they could. I ordered a capp with coconut milk. It wasn't the best capp I've had, but it was decent. My wife got a churro latte, which she enjoyed. We also got a ricotta avocado toast. There was an ample amount of avocado and ricotta, but the toast was a little too crispy and crunchy for my liking. Service was friendly and the interior is pretty nice. So just got back from Green Joe. I had 100.00 worth of gift cards, so imagine my surprise when the girl tells me she doesn't think they can take them. New owners. Now mind you, the cashier was helpful and offered to call the owner. She came back and told me the accounts are now different and the gift cards are no good. She does offer me a 15% discount for my trouble. The second worker (who I think was management) chimes in, they are no good, new owners new accounts and was snotty. She acted like it was for sure MY problem, and had a real attitude. Coffee was not good either, I will NEVER be back. I picked this place specifically for the outdoor seating, but when we arrived there were no tables or chairs outside (strike 1) the waitress (too inexperienced to be considered a barista) said they used to have outdoor seating, but last year the tables & chairs rusted, & were never replaced. There were only 2 customers inside when we arrived, and only maybe 2 more came during our time there, so not a very busy place. I was excited to try their Chai Latte, but they had no chai mix (strike 2). The waitress wasn't able to guide me to another choice because Chai is so specific, but also didn't offer any recommendations based on her tastes, or popularity with customers. The pastries in the display case looked dry & old, so I settled for just a beverage that for $8 I could've made better at home (strike 3) Won't be returning. I've been going to Green Joe for about a year now and it's honestly the best coffee shop in a 10 mile radius. I've had lots of things: iced lavender latte, scones, strawberry matcha, chai, hot lattes, and much more. And they've all been very good. I especially love their matcha - way way way better than anything you're going to find at a chain like Starbucks or Dunkin. I love GJ for its variety. They have every flavor you could possibly want. They also have great sizing options and pricing to match. The service is always good usually some young people being friendly. I take friends when they visit from out of town and it's always a hit. I usually go through the drive thru, but the inside is cute and minimalist. It has big windows so it's kind of nice when sunny if you wanted to work or hang out. I wish they were open past 4 pm, and I wish they had more selections for merch. I need a cute green joe shirt for the summer. All around this is a 10/10 spot for me. read more

What happened to Green Joe's delicious breakfast items? We ordered avocado toast and other items last Saturday. The toast literally had a thin spread of canned guacamole on top of stale toasted bread with a ton of chili flakes. It used to be amazing bread, real smashed avocados, etc. Their pastries came from a French local bakery before but now all come from Costco. We've been loyal customers since they opened. It was good and prices were comparable to Starbucks. + Good variety of hot and iced coffee, fruit drinks, hot cocoa, and they have milk options/substitutions for an extra $1. - I wish they had more varieties of pastries. I am not sure if they were running out because it was late in the day (11am)? - The coffee shop probably had room for 10-13 customers who could dine in. I wish they had more capacity.
