Reasonably priced motel. The rooms are small and the walls are a little thin (no joke, someone in a room next door turned on our TV accidentally). You can't beat the downtown location though, walking distance to shopping & lots of restaurants. I'd stay again & recommend it to others. I stayed here in late July with my husband for our first wedding anniversary. We primarily picked this motel at first because of the great price point and proximity to the Island Queen Ferry (because we were planning a day trip to Martha's Vineyard as well). However, we were so pleasantly surprised and satisfied with the quality of our stay! Virginia is such a kind and wonderful woman, and a local to boot. She's always willing to chat and make sure you know about all of the best spots and ways to get around. She even accommodated my husband sending a package directly to the motel before our stay to surprise me with an anniversary gift upon our arrival, and had it safely kept in the office for us when we checked in! The motel itself was also very clean, and decorated quite quaintly and features a private parking lot for guests that is right in the downtown area of Falmouth. It is definitely the best spot to be in to walk around and grab dinner in Falmouth, and is within walkable distance to many of the beaches near town (or about a 5 minute drive). As I mentioned, it's also within walkable distance to the Island Queen Ferry, and the downtown area features a ton of great restaurants and very quaint shops (one of our favorites was the french bakery just a few blocks down from the motel). Overall we were so impressed with both Falmouth and the Town & Beach Motel. All of the staff are very friendly and go above and beyond to make your stay great! Location, location, location!! My first time to "The Cape!" The owner is VERY nice. The motel is quaint, clean, quiet and walkable to the local grub hubs. There's fresh hot coffee in the check in area every morning. There's thoughtfully placed sitting areas in the small public areas and lush landscaping abounds. Virginia freely loans out accoutrements for a day at the beach (a quick jaunt at ten minutes): umbrellas, towels, and a bag. Will DEFINITELY be staying here again!!!! Thank you for a GREAT stay. Let's start with I saw a review on line. It looked quaint and the proximity to the down town area was important. Drove thru town looking all the places I'd view on line. Remembering other YELPER'S commentary and also remembering it was my duty to give places a chance and even try places that I wouldn't normally. This place is literally 1 min walk to all of the places to eat, icecream, fancy dinners and shopping. Hell there is a salon and nail place across the street for some pampering. Anyway. Stopped in and inquired about a room. $115 a night for a king bed. Ok based on where we are staying and the location...sure I'd like to see the room. (Cleanliness) Popped in and the room was as pictured on line and it was perfectly clean. The owner actually told me she was and her staff had started the fall cleaning. Hence the smell of bleach in the office. Lmao I talked to the hubs and since the ferry for Martha's Vineyard was just a 4 mile drive this would be a great base for the next 2 days. By the way, the owner dropped the rate to $95 a day when I told her we wanted 2 days! The room was comfy and all of the amenities worked properly. The bed was comfortable and shower was great. Nice quality sheets and soft but firm pillows. The ladies here are top notch! Friendly as all get out. They seem genuinely interested in our comfort and helping with travel arrangements. At the end of our day on Martha's Vineyard they came out and greeted us with towels and asked how the day on the island was. Btw they didn't have to do that. Clean quiet and friendly Town & Beach Motel is an inexpensive and basic motel located right in the center of Falmouth. It's an easy stroll to the restaurants and shops in the town and about a fifteen minute walk to get to the shuttle that goes down to the Wood's Hole and the Martha's Vineyard shuttle. The motel rooms and simple but clean and cozy with a pleasant sort of nautical décor and theme. The bed was comfortable and the wifi worked, and our room came with a TV and small refrigerator. The owner is a very pleasant woman that will take the time to answer any questions you might have or just chat about the town or things in gerernal. We had no idea what to expect from this reasonably priced motel and we were happily surprised. The rooms are small and a bit dated but the place is immaculate. Our bathroom seemed to be new and the cleanliness of the entire motel stood out. The location is ideal...right in the middle of the downtown business area and near some very good restaurants. Virginia, the owner (?) was a delight. Very knowledgeable regarding the area and seemingly everything else and we enjoyed our conversations tremendously. She couldn't do enough to cater to our every whim, and she was spot on with every recommendation. My boyfriend and I were on our way to Martha's Vineyard and we were looking for an inexpensive place to relax while we waited for our ferry reservation (we had to get into town early from D.C. and had many, many hours to kill). I booked the nearest accommodation that had a decent rating, though not really caring since I wasn't actually staying the night. Virginia was so nice! This is a decent motel. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and it also has cable. Shower was terrible,though, water was kinda cold sometimes. The owner was super friendly, she gave us good recommendations about bike shops, restaurants,... she was really nice. The downside is that is pricey for what it offers. The owners are very friendly and they give great recommendations for beach spots, restaurants, and place to visit before you leave *(plus it's close to a toys shop and the owner is super cute and friendly)*. The Town & Beach Motel located at 382 Main Street, Falmouth; Ma is a nice, clean and conveniently located "L" shaped motel. The rooms have a decent size, there's a color tube TV on the wall opposite to the bed, a small under the counter fridge, the bathroom size is appropriate, a nice desk or credenza, a pair of chair and a table to write on, there's parking space, a bench under a tree next to the sidewalk so you can watch people pass by, smoke or read (put some OFF since there's a few mosquitoes in the vicinity). There's no view whatsoever, next to the hotel there's a building with some antennas on top, at the front is the Fire Department but don't get disappointed since is at walk able distance from most amenities such as the public library where there's a farmers market certain days of the week, arts and craft market a little bit beyond the library, eateries such as the Country Fare Restaurant where you can have a nice breakfast and more and Betsy's Diner with an excellent service (Country Fare is smaller, cozier and less crowded at breakfast time). Also, you can walk to the marina to catch the Island Queen ferry to Oak Bluffs and the Liberte Schooner for a 2 hour boat ride around certain areas of the Falmouth bay. You can also walk to a nearby bicycle shop and rent a bike to ride around town or catch the trolley towards Woods Hole, get off at the intersection (street light) of Quissett Harbor Rd. and Woods Hole Rd. and walk about two miles to the Knob which is a small peninsula with an spectacular view and quiet beach, don't forget to bring repellent, a towel and swim suit, a bag to collect some shells would be good to bring along as well. On your way back from The Knob you can catch the trolley to continue towards Woods Hole (make sure to walk pass the light to catch it, it's better and safer, the trolley's fare is $2 and comes around every half hour or so). Woods Hole is a nice little town with excellent restaurants and sea food, there's also an Aquarium (free admittance but they have a box where you can place a couple of bucks if you want) that will allow you to see the process on how they use the equipment for the displays in the second floor of the building. At the very entrance they have a couple of seals swimming in an open swimming pool. I would give the Town & Beach Motel 5 stars but the cleaning maid failed to bring fresh towels and toiletry the next day of our stay, that's my only complaint, but she is a nice lady and I'm sure if you let her know she will comply. Also their wifi sucks, you have to get out of the room in order to get wifi, but still in the parking lot or the bench near the sidewalk you can use it. Terry the front desk assistance is very nice and helpful, she'll do her best to guide you in any way she can but since she's not a local don't expect to get too much sightseeing information from her. If you LOVE to walk everywhere, look no further! The Town and Beach Motel checked all the boxes for a three-night stay. Virginia, the owner, showered us with tons of information about the Martha's Vineyard ferry, local food favorites (quahog), and restaurants. She also supplied daily coffee in the office (thank you!). Our room was sparkly clean with a beautiful white coverlet on our (very comfortable) bed. She supplied us with plenty of hangers, towels, a small round table, a TV and plenty of room to collapse after bike riding or being at the beach. She even loaned us beach towels and umbrellas for the beach. Bonus: They cleaned our rooms each day (something a lot of hotels are not doing right now due to lovely COVID - thank you again!) . My favorite part about this cute motel was the location. We barely got in our car (once to see a different beach). We walked and rode bikes (you can rent bikes at Corner Cycle - a great walk) to the beach and along a beautiful bike trail (Shining Sea Bikeway). Check out the French bakery Maison Villatte (lines are long, so get there early. Great breakfast spot: Country Fare (a short walk to the right). The Martha's Vineyard ferry is a healthy walk to the left of the hotel (you can grab a coffee or doughnut at Dunkin Doughnuts on the way or stop at CVS). Highly recommend this little gem. read more

I found the motel to be generally what I expected. It wasn't appointed with luxury but it wasn't the worse place I've ever stayed in by far. If you want to stay in downtown Falmouth, there are fancier places but they will also end up charging you quite a bit more too. Pros: great location downtown and about a mile walk to the beach down Shore St, DirectTV in every room, mini-fridge, A/C, easy parking, exceptional customer service, great value for the room rate, very clean and well cared after place Cons: opposite the fire station (not a busy one, but it is there), hard mattress, smallish room, low pressure toilet, no phone in-room, walls/windows aren't very thick, limited power outlets with pretty old wiring and everything is two-prong only read more

Sweet little hotel right in the heart of Main Street Falmouth. Not fancy but very comfortable, very clean and quite spacious. Virginia and Terri were delightful. They clearly care about this little motel. Virginia has owned it for 31 years. Beautiful flowers greet you as you pull into the parking lot making your first impression a nice one. It's charming and sweet. It has your cable TV and your free wi-fi + coffee in the office but no other amenities but many great restaurants are right down the street. We like Mary Ellen's for breakfast. I recommend this motel for it's caring owner and comfortable rooms at a reasonable price point. My only complaint was the loud air conditioner in our room. We totally enjoyed our stay! We could walk to shops and restaurants, and drive a short distance to other places of interest. The room was very clean ( linoleum floor rather than carpet), all linens were bright and clean-smelling (not overpowering detergent smell, just fresh and clean) and the property in general is very well maintained. There was plenty of hot water and pressure for showers. The owners gave us great advice on places to eat. We will be going back! read more

I'm glad I hadn't read the last review from 3 years ago before staying here in June 2012. This hotel is in a very convenient location on the main street. The room is simple, small, but adequate. But most importantly, there was absolutely no odor in the room. The staff steams clean the rooms, it's spotless, there are no , I repeat, no bed bugs!!! And no odor! Also, the bed was comfortable, not too hard, and not too soft. There is a small refrigerator for storing leftover dinner, or beverages. The front desk woman was very friendly, as is the owner. I don't not know how long she has owned it, but she's doing a great job. We will definitely stay here again. read more

I'm only going to say one thing: BED BUGS. Do not stay here unless you want your home to be infested and to get bitten nightly and to spend $$$ to get rid of them - which we still haven't been able to do. We've had to launder and/or steam everything we own, throw out our suitcase, hire an exterminator, go to the doctor and pay for medicine...we haven't had a good night's sleep in over a week, everything is in complete disarray. To save a $100 we stayed here and we've now spent over that trying to get rid of these bugs we've taken back to our apartment. DO NOT STAY HERE. read more

A quaint, clean, comfortable, and convenient slice of Cape Cod is what you'll find at the Town and Beach motel. The rooms were impeccably clean, one of the cleanest I've seen. The natural Cape Cod landscaping and color scheme of the exterior add a comfortable look and feel to the surroundings of the perfectly placed seating areas in and around the grounds perfect to relax after a long day on Martha's Vineyard or accompanied by your complimentary cup of tea or coffee. Each room has a adequate amount of living space with a tv with more channels than any Best Western or Marriott I've stayed in supplies, a mini fridge upon request large enough to store extra beverages or leftovers. The beds were comfortable (no bed bugs to be found; don't know if the other reviewer mistakenly reviewed another motel) , a small table and two comfortable chairs, adequate closet space with hangers supplied. Staff was pleasant and knowledgable of activities and directions in the area and times/rates to area ferry's to the vineyard. Brochures in the office to assist in the spontaneous itinerary and complimentary coffee, also bottles of soda and water conveniently sold for a dollar in the office. Overall, a quintessential quaint privately owned and operated motel bringing back the nastalgic 1950's Cape Cod vacation experience with all the modern twists of the twenty first century with that 1950's price tag! read more
